The smell of her hair, the taste of her mouth, the feeling of her skin seemed to have got inside him, or into the air all round him. She had become a physical necessity. ~ George Orwell
Romantic Feelings quotes by George Orwell
Unless Sophronia missed her guess, the poor lad was already developing romantic feelings toward her friend. Many of the sooties probably were. Dimity was so pretty and chattery, she quite overpowered the average male. Many gentlemen were unable to cope with abundant chatter, which is why they so often married it. ~ Gail Carriger
Romantic Feelings quotes by Gail Carriger
On 'The Office,' so much of the show is about disguising your true feelings and your romantic feelings because it was a mock documentary. ~ Mindy Kaling
Romantic Feelings quotes by Mindy Kaling
You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope ... I have loved none but you. ~ Jane Austen
Romantic Feelings quotes by Jane Austen
Ariadne made an impression on you, and that's great. But life is not literature. Sooner or later, the spell wears off, the romantic feelings disappear, and you're left watching somebody's body disintegrate. You start with a love story, you end up manacled to an hourglass, watching the sands run out. ~ Paul Murray
Romantic Feelings quotes by Paul Murray
I have no romantic feelings about age. Either you are interesting at any age or you are not. There is nothing particularly interesting about being old-or being young for that matter. ~ Katharine Hepburn
Romantic Feelings quotes by Katharine Hepburn
Sadly for my wedding plans, I learned that Nestor is a bardash. I envy the men who enjoy his favors. He has always treated me with friendship which I now value more than my old romantic feelings. ~ Tamora Pierce
Romantic Feelings quotes by Tamora Pierce
Blushing is thought to be linked to increased levels of norepinephrine in the brain, which may be associated with romantic feelings. It signals that we are interested and excited, which is attractive to men. ~ Helen Fisher
Romantic Feelings quotes by Helen Fisher
Any romantic feelings for a 12-year-old are like entering into a fantasy world. ~ Wes Anderson
Romantic Feelings quotes by Wes Anderson
I'm afraid many young people today have very romantic ideas about marriage - ideas that do not necessarily reflect the truth ... Romantic feelings alone are not enough when the problems and strains come - as they inevitably do. ~ Billy Graham
Romantic Feelings quotes by Billy Graham
Our culture puts feelings first, but true love isn't based on feelings. That is why there are so many divorces today. When the early romantic feelings in a marriage do not remain constant ... many people believe divorce is the answer. ~ Billy Graham
Romantic Feelings quotes by Billy Graham
Since I was seventeen I thought I might be a star. I'd think about all my heroes, Charlie Parker, Jimi Hendrix ... I had a romantic feeling about how these people became famous. ~ Jean-Michel Basquiat
Romantic Feelings quotes by Jean-Michel Basquiat
Have you ever known someone who worried about dating a long-time friend? If you have, you've probably heard that person say something like this: "He asked me out, but I'm just afraid that if we start actually dating it will change our friendship." What is this person really saying? People who make statements like that, whether or not they realize it, recognize that dating encourages romantic expectations. In a true friendship you don't feel pressured by knowing you "like" the other [35] person or that he or she "likes" you back. You feel free to be yourself and do things together without spending three hours in front of the mirror, making sure you look perfect.

C. S. Lewis describes friendship as two people walking side by side toward a common goal. Their mutual interest brings them together. . . .

In dating, romantic attraction is often the relationship's cornerstone. The premise of dating is "I'm attracted to you; therefore, let's get to know each other." The premise of friendship, on the other hand, is "We're interested in the same things; let's enjoy these common interests together." If, after developing a friendship, romantic attraction forms, that's an added bonus. . . .

A relationship based only on physical attraction and romantic feelings will last only as long as the feelings last. ~ Joshua Harris
Romantic Feelings quotes by Joshua Harris
Clare is silent. Her pragmatism and her romantic feelings about Jesus and Mary are, at thirteen, almost equally balanced. A year ago she would have said God without hesitation. In ten years she will vote for determinism, and ten years after that Clare will believe that the universe is arbitrary, that if God exists he does not hear our prayers, that cause and effect are inescapable and brutal, but meaningless. And after that? I don't know. But right now Clare sits on the threshold of adolescence with her faith in one hand and her growing skepticism in the other, and all she can do is try to juggle them, or squeeze them together until they fuse. ~ Audrey Niffenegger
Romantic Feelings quotes by Audrey Niffenegger
There were never any romantic feelings between Pip, Jason and me. But what we did have -afriendship of many years- was just as strong as that, I think. Stronger, maybe than a lot of couples I knew. ~ Alice Oseman
Romantic Feelings quotes by Alice Oseman
There were dozens of papers with complex numerical and alchemial figuring on them, and even a piece of stationary that began My beautiful one in Sebastian's cramped handwriting. She spared a moment to wonder who on earth Sebastian's beautiful one could be
she hadn't thought of him as someone who ever had romantic feelings about anyone. ~ Cassandra Clare
Romantic Feelings quotes by Cassandra Clare
It seems to me that the real clue to your sexual orientation lies in your romantic feelings rather than your sexual feelings. If you are really gay, you are able to fall in love with a man, not just enjoy sex with him. ~ Christopher Isherwood
Romantic Feelings quotes by Christopher Isherwood
Reach for a better feeling thought. ~ Esther Hicks
Romantic Feelings quotes by Esther Hicks
I looked harder at Matthew 25 and realized that if  Jesus said "I was hungry and you fed me," then Christ's presence is not embodied in those who feed the hungry (as important as that work is), but Christ's presence is in the hungry being fed. Christ comes not in the form of those who visit the imprisoned but in the imprisoned being cared for. And to be clear, Christ does not come to us as the poor and hungry. Because, as anyone for whom the poor are not an abstraction but actual flesh-and-blood people knows, the poor and hungry and imprisoned are not a romantic special class of  Christlike people. And those who meet their needs are not a romantic special class of  Christlike people. We all are equally as sinful and saintly as the other. No, Christ comes to us in the needs of the poor and hungry, needs that are met by another so that the gleaming redemption of  God might be known. ... No one gets to play Jesus. But we do get to experience Jesus in that holy place where we meet others' needs and have our own needs met. ~ Nadia Bolz-Weber
Romantic Feelings quotes by Nadia Bolz-Weber
To every woman waiting for her knight in shining armor, don't lose hope. He will come. In the mean time, don the armor, shine bright and be your own knight. ~ Eve Montelibano
Romantic Feelings quotes by Eve Montelibano
Notice what happens when you doubt, suppress, or act contrary to your feelings. You will observe decreased energy, powerless or helpless feelings, and physical or emotional pain. Now notice what happens when you follow your intuitive feelings. Usually the result is increased energy and power and a sense of natural flow. When you're at one with yourself, the world feels peaceful, exciting, and magical. ~ Shakti Gawain
Romantic Feelings quotes by Shakti Gawain
Rayna does not get sick on planes. Also, Rayna does not stop talking on planes. By the time we land at Okaloosa Regional Airport, I'm wondering if I've spoken as many words in my entire life as she did on the plane. With no layovers, it was the longest forty-five minutes of my whole freaking existence.
I can tell Rachel's nerves are also fringed. She orders an SUV limo-Rachel never does anything small-to pick us up and insists that Rayna try the complimentary champagne. I'm fairly certain it's the first alcoholic beverage Rayna's ever had, and by the time we reach the hotel on the beach, I'm all the way certain.
As Rayna snores in the seat across from me, Rachel checks us into the hotel and has our bags taken to our room. "Do you want to head over to the Gulfarium now?" she asks. "Or, uh, rest up a bit and wait for Rayna to wake up?"
This is an important decision. Personally, I'm not tired at all and would love to see a liquored-up Rayna negotiate the stairs at the Gulfarium. But I'd feel a certain guilt if she hit her hard head on a wooden rail or something and then we'd have to pay the Gulfarium for the damages her thick skull would surely cause. Plus, I'd have to suffer a reproving look from Dr. Milligan, which might actually hurt my feelings because he reminds me a bit of my dad.
So I decide to do the right thing. "Let's rest for a while and let her snap out of it. I'll call Dr. Milligan and let him know we've checked in."
Two hours later, Sleepin ~ Anna Banks
Romantic Feelings quotes by Anna Banks
I was the "feelings" child. Everything I did was a feeling, and it did not count. It is so difficult to talk about demons and gods and spirits without it seeming that you are mad, or sarcastic, or simple, or talking in pictures, or trying to confuse. Or trying to be interesting. It is difficult to talk about demons and make it understood that even if "spirit" is the best word available, it isn't the right word. ~ Helen Oyeyemi
Romantic Feelings quotes by Helen Oyeyemi
My Sadness is Deeper than Yours

My sadness is deeper than yours. My interior life is richer than yours. I am more interesting than you. I don't care about anybody else's problems. They are not as serious as mine. Nobody knows the weight I carry, the trouble I've seen. There are worlds in my head that nobody has access to: fortunately for them, fortunately for me. I have seen things that you will never see, and I have feelings that you are incapable of feeling, that you would never allow yourself to feel, because you lack the capacity and the curiosity. Once you felt the hint of such a feeling, you would stamp it out. I am a martyr to futility and I don't expect to be shut down by a pretender. Mothballs are an aphrodisiac to me, beauty depresses me. You could never hope to fathom the depth of my feelings, deeper than death. I look down upon you all from my lofty height of lowliness. The fullness of your satisfaction lacks the cadaverous purity of my pain. Don't talk to me about failure. You don't know the meaning of the word. When it comes to failure, you're strictly an amateur. Bush league stuff. I'm ten times the failure you'll ever be. I have more to complain about than you, and regrets: more than a few, too many to mention. I am a fully-qualified failure, I have proven it over and over again. My credentials are impeccable, my resume flawless. I have worked hard to put myself in a position of unassailable wretchedness, and I demand to be respected for it. I expec ~ John Tottenham
Romantic Feelings quotes by John Tottenham
I know when I'm onstage, I don't think about how it looks, I just concentrate on really feeling what I hear. But I totally know I look like Gollum when I perform, so it's cool. ~ Lorde
Romantic Feelings quotes by Lorde
What if children grew up with parents who modeled a loving relationship, who openly showed each other affection and respect, expressing feelings authentically, and who lovingly, even playfully, turned conflicts toward solutions? What if we grew up feeling embraced, loved, seen and valued for the whole of who we are? Would it all turn out differently? You bet it would! ~ Tracie Sage
Romantic Feelings quotes by Tracie Sage
It is very romantic to be in love. But there is nothing romantic about a definite proposal. Why, one may be accepted. One usually is, I believe. Then the excitement is all over. The very essence of romance is uncertainty. (Algernon in The Importance of Being Ernest) ~ Oscar Wilde
Romantic Feelings quotes by Oscar Wilde
I've got a feeling that, if it's so easy for you, the struggle and the initiative are not as strong as they are for a person who has to struggle and therefore has more to say. ~ Charles Mingus
Romantic Feelings quotes by Charles Mingus
I train harder than anyone else in the world. Last year I was supposed to take a month off and I took three days off because I was afraid somebody out there was training harder. That's the feeling I go through every day - Am I not doing what somebody else is doing? Is someone out there training harder than I am? I can't live with myself if someone is. ~ Marion Jones
Romantic Feelings quotes by Marion Jones
Mechanized warfare still left room for human qualities to play an important part in the issue. 'Automatic warfare' cancels them out, except in a passive form. Archidamus is at last being justified. Courage, skill and patriotism become shrinking assets. The most virile nation might not be able to withstand another, inferior to it in all natural qualities, if the latter had some decisively superior technical appliance.
(...)The advent of 'automatic warfare' should make plain the absurdity of warfare as a means of deciding nations' claims to superiority. It blows away romantic vapourings about the heroic virtues of war, utilized by aggressive and ambitious leaders to generate a military spirit among their people. They can no longer claim that war is any test of a people's fitness, or even of its national strength. Science has undermined the foundations of nationalism, at the very time when the spirit of nationalism is most rampant. ~ B.H. Liddell Hart
Romantic Feelings quotes by B.H. Liddell Hart
'Natural Born Killers' is really a misunderstood romantic comedy. ~ Woody Harrelson
Romantic Feelings quotes by Woody Harrelson
In our age the common religious perception of men is the consciousness of the brotherhood of man - we know that the well-being of man lies in the union with his fellow men. True science should indicate the various methods of applying this consciousness to life. Art should transform this perception into feeling. ~ Leo Tolstoy
Romantic Feelings quotes by Leo Tolstoy
Aw, that's romantic... in a creepy, stalkerish sort of way." His ~ D.B. Reynolds
Romantic Feelings quotes by D.B. Reynolds
She couldn't help but grin at him. "It is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me. Even more exciting than being abducted by you.
"Galen and Rose got married that summer," she went on. "It was terribly romantic." She shrugged again. "Honestly? I'm having a hard time believing that it won't happen like that again. Galen will work some magic. We'll seal the gate and go home. Poppy and Daisy will have a beautiful wedding."
Oliver got up from his chair and came over to the bed. He sank down beside her and put his arm around her waist. She leaned her head on his shoulder.
"It will be alright," he told her "You shouldn't be afraid. ~ Jessica Day George
Romantic Feelings quotes by Jessica Day George
There's nothing worse than the feeling of wishing you had another chance at a play because you weren't ready. Every athlete has those feelings to mull over, and over and over ... Don't even expose yourself to the possibility to being caught off-guard. - ~ Karch Kiraly
Romantic Feelings quotes by Karch Kiraly
No person knows your body better than you. The world's most sophisticated and sensitive diagnostic apparatus is your own body's feelings. ~ Andrew Saul
Romantic Feelings quotes by Andrew Saul
Persistent problems, however unpleasant they may seem, contain the unprocessed and unexamined thoughts and feelings that, if left alone, keep you from your greatness. That's why the pain, emptiness, and longing you feel can be your greatest gift - it can motivate you to examine parts of yourself that have been overlooked, forgotten, or hidden. It's the irritant of sand in the oyster, which is the impetus for the pearl. In walking the conscious life path, you reveal your deepest Reality, layer by layer. You come home. ~ Jennifer Howard
Romantic Feelings quotes by Jennifer Howard
Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock do romantic comedies. I do dark dramas. I do these movies well. ~ Jodie Foster
Romantic Feelings quotes by Jodie Foster
You are consciousness itself
not the objects of consciousness. They used clear-color prisms and waterdrums to help him relax. You have a body, but you are not your body. You are the awareness of your body. You have thoughts, but you are not your thoughts. You have feelings, but you are not they. Who are you? ~ A.A. Attanasio
Romantic Feelings quotes by A.A. Attanasio
Values underlie everything we are and do. If what we value is unhelpful, if what we consider success/failure is poorly chosen, then everything based upon those values - the thoughts, the emotions, the day-to-day feelings - will all be out of whack. Everything we think and feel about a situation ultimately comes back to how valuable we perceive it to be. Most ~ Mark Manson
Romantic Feelings quotes by Mark Manson
Who knows? Maybe they're right. Maybe we are driven crazy by our feelings. Maybe love is a disease, and we would be better off without it.
But we have chosen a different road. And in the end that is the point of escaping the cure: We are free to choose.
We are even free to choose the wrong thing. ~ Lauren Oliver
Romantic Feelings quotes by Lauren Oliver
There weren't any feelings of resentment or letting down, anymore, when I thought of my mother. She had chosen her family and now I had mine, end of that story. ~ Eryn Scott
Romantic Feelings quotes by Eryn Scott
My vanity is I'm terribly romantic! But being married is lovely. ~ Matthew Macfadyen
Romantic Feelings quotes by Matthew Macfadyen
Dreams, in their essence, include risk. This risk could be physical danger (often true in climbing big mountains like Everest), or it could be financial (leaving a comfortable job and pouring your life savings into a business venture), or it could be emotional (like the feelings of loss and questioning that comes with losing friends and coworkers to climbing accidents). ~ Adrian Ballinger
Romantic Feelings quotes by Adrian Ballinger
How much choice did you have?"
To Rycca's surprise, Cymbra laughed. "In my case, none." She sighed in mocking languor. "I still remember Wolf's deeply romantic proposal. He told me that if I did not wed him, he would kill my brother."
"He what? ~ Josie Litton
Romantic Feelings quotes by Josie Litton
Immobilization: A state, however mild or serious, in which you are not functioning at the level that you would like to. If feelings lead to such a state, you need to look no further for a reason to get rid of them. ~ Wayne W. Dyer
Romantic Feelings quotes by Wayne W. Dyer
The question remains ... who takes care of you, Miss Vale?"
"I might ask the same question of you, Lord Dryden. ~ Julie Anne Long
Romantic Feelings quotes by Julie Anne Long
She blinked at him, mouth open. "Do you really think it's wise to insult a woman who's holdin' a needle this far away? - she held her fingers an inch apart - "From your Grand Master of Ceremonies? ~ Julie Ann Walker
Romantic Feelings quotes by Julie Ann Walker
I'd always been puzzled when books about people with Asperger's claimed that we didn't have empathy. True, I might have trouble sometimes guessing how another person felt, but sadness was an obvious emotion and an easy one to spot most of the time. My problem wasn't that I didn't understand their feelings, only that I didn't have a clue how to respond to them. I never knew the proper thing to do or say. I wasn't good at comforting. He ~ Susanna Kearsley
Romantic Feelings quotes by Susanna Kearsley
- He's young, good-looking and new in town. And He's got the local bullies in his sights. There's no justice here, but justice is coming...

NO JUSTICE, the addictive new adult thriller that everyone is talking about ~ J.K. Ellem
Romantic Feelings quotes by J.K. Ellem
For me, the bulimia was about stuffing my emotions. So I stopped suppressing my feelings. ~ Cheryl James
Romantic Feelings quotes by Cheryl James
Using the device of an imaginary world allows me in some strange way to go to the central issues - it's one of many ways to express feelings about real people, about real human relationships. ~ Lloyd Alexander
Romantic Feelings quotes by Lloyd Alexander
She lost the ability to process anything as he quickly divested himself of his pants – and she discovered he went commando. Oh, sweet flying puppies.
He. Went. Commando. ~ Katie Reus
Romantic Feelings quotes by Katie Reus
When I sit down with my notebook, when I start scribbling words across the page, I find out what I'm feeling. ~ Dani Shapiro
Romantic Feelings quotes by Dani Shapiro
This healthy dependence is the essence of romantic love. The bodies of lovers are linked in a "neural duet." One person sends out signals that alter the hormone levels, cardiovascular function, body rhythms, and even immune system of the other. In loving connection, the cuddle hormone oxytocin floods lovers' bodies, bringing a calm joy and the sense that everything is right with the world. Our bodies are set up for this kind of connection. ~ Sue Johnson
Romantic Feelings quotes by Sue Johnson
As it stands, motherhood is a sort of wilderness through which each woman hacks her way, part martyr, part pioneer; a turn of events from which some women derive feelings of heroism, while others experience a sense of exile from the world they knew. ~ Rachel Cusk
Romantic Feelings quotes by Rachel Cusk
The problem with righteous indignation is that even when you're right, you're still left feeling indignant. ~ Bill Crawford
Romantic Feelings quotes by Bill Crawford
Gratitude is a feeling not statement. It is so easy to say we are grateful that I often don't stop to really, really take the time to experience gratitude. Saying the words doesn't mean a thing without the feeling and it takes a moment of genuine reflection to summon that feeling. This Thanksgiving don't shortchange yourself with hollow words. ~ Michael Josephson
Romantic Feelings quotes by Michael Josephson
In an unexpected move, Bryce reached for my hand and pulled me to his side. "Play along. We'll straighten this out later."
Good Lord, the school hottie was touching me. It felt like I'd won some sort of geek-girl lottery. And depending on how this played out, Bryce could be the answer to my boyfriend problems. If he wanted me to cover for him, then he needed to help me with my overprotective brothers. ~ Chris Cannon
Romantic Feelings quotes by Chris Cannon
Physics is perceived as a lonesome, nerdy kind of enterprise that has very little to do with human feelings and the things that excite people day-to-day about each other. Yet physicists in their own working environment are very social creatures. ~ Leonard Susskind
Romantic Feelings quotes by Leonard Susskind
Friends share thoughts, feelings stories, pastime and sometimes destiny. ~ Hussam Atef Elkhatib
Romantic Feelings quotes by Hussam Atef Elkhatib
In science fiction, telepaths often communicate across language barriers, since thoughts are considered to be universal. However, this might not be true. Emotions and feelings may well be nonverbal and universal, so that one could telepathically send them to anyone, but rational thinking is so closely tied to language that it is very unlikely that complex thoughts could be sent across language barriers. Words will still be sent telepathically in their original language. ~ Michio Kaku
Romantic Feelings quotes by Michio Kaku
Staring at a blank piece of paper, I can't think of anything original. I feel utterly uninspired and unreceptive. It's the familiar malaise of 'artist's block' and in such circumstances there is only one thing to do: just start drawing.

The artist Paul Klee refers to this simple act as 'taking a line for a walk', an apt description of my own basic practice: allowing the tip of a pencil to wander through the landscape of a sketchbook, motivated by a vague impulse but hoping to find something much more interesting along the way. Strokes, hooks, squiggles and loops can resolve into hills, faces, animals, machines -even abstract feelings- the meanings of which are often secondary to the simple act of making (something young children know intuitively). Images are not preconceived and then drawn, they are conceived as they are drawn. Indeed, drawing is its own form of thinking, in the same way birdsong is 'thought about' within a bird's throat. ~ Shaun Tan
Romantic Feelings quotes by Shaun Tan
There's nothing more romantic after not seeing your husband for four months than to have our first night back together, on a Broadway stage, with 12 million people watching. ~ Deborra-Lee Furness
Romantic Feelings quotes by Deborra-Lee Furness
