when you disobey the rule, you sell your freedom. You cripple your real you. The daily direction of your life is restricted and directed by the rule and the ruling ~ Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
Obeying Rules quotes by Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
in how many other areas of our lives are we obeying rules we don't understand ~ Paulo Coelho
Obeying Rules quotes by Paulo Coelho
It's hard to explain, but it's related to me know that for every moment of beauty this place gives me, I probably miss a thousand more. And I want them all. I swear I'd live on the dunes if I could. I was born out of my time. I should have been around during the end of the eighteenth century, when the Romantic Era kicked off, and writers and artists were obsessed with nature: the ocean, the mountains, the sky. And they believed in following their own path, experimenting, not blindly obeying rules.
I found a quote by Henry David Thoreau- "I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life" ... It made me cry. Urgency is so beautiful. ~ Kirsty Eagar
Obeying Rules quotes by Kirsty Eagar
Everything in life, is a question of drawing a life, John, and you have to decide for yourself where to draw it. You cant draw it for others. You can try, of course, but it doesn't work. People obeying rules laid down my somebody else is not the same thing as respecting life. And if you want to respect life, you have to draw a line. ~ John Berger
Obeying Rules quotes by John Berger
Men live by rules they've made for themselves. And among those rules is one specifying that women are merely commodities for men to possess. A daughter belongs to her father, a wife to her husband. A woman's own desires present obstacles for men and are best ignored. ~ Natsuo Kirino
Obeying Rules quotes by Natsuo Kirino
An enemy, Ender Wiggin," whispered the old man. "I am your enemy, the first one you've ever had who was smarter than you. There is no teacher but the enemy. No one but the enemy will tell you what the enemy is going to do. No one but the enemy will ever teach you how to destroy and conquer. Only the enemy shows you where you are weak. Only the enemy tells you where he is strong. And the rules of the game are what you can do to him and what you can stop him from doing to you. I am your enemy from now on. From now on I am your teacher. ~ Orson Scott Card
Obeying Rules quotes by Orson Scott Card
I found our speech copious without order, and energetic without rules ~ Samuel Johnson
Obeying Rules quotes by Samuel Johnson
Love is what makes you do everything. It really does conquer all. With my first album, I was writing about empowerment hoping that would make it true. And now it is. I'm in charge. I make the rules. I've been writing since I was nine years old and I'm very much involved in the creative process. And now that I'm in a happier place in my personal life, I'm spitting songs out left and right. ~ Jessie James Decker
Obeying Rules quotes by Jessie James Decker
My love has no boundaries and is bound by no rules, except one: Love all of me and I will love all of you. ~ Shannon L. Alder
Obeying Rules quotes by Shannon L. Alder
Acts of creation are ordinarily reserved for gods and poets, but humbler folk may circumvent this restriction if they know how. To plant a pine, for example, one need be neither god nor poet; one need only own a shovel. By virtue of this curious loophole in the rules, any clodhopper may say: Let there be a tree - and there will be one. ~ Aldo Leopold
Obeying Rules quotes by Aldo Leopold
Thou shalt not follow someone, merely because they are following you. ~ Mokokoma Mokhonoana
Obeying Rules quotes by Mokokoma Mokhonoana
Clothes are a better place for girls to keep their histories than stories. Stories betray girls by saying what we really were according to the rules of some game we had never agreed to play. Stories are about the painful aporia of having to both appear and exist, the things done to us, what we are trying to cover up by getting dressed. But if we kept our histories in clothes, these were the annals only of our own actualization and no one would put in quotation marks the bad things the world had said our way as we walked by on the streets. ~ Anne Boyer
Obeying Rules quotes by Anne Boyer
Leadership THE 5 RULES Helpfulness Understanding Mingle Amuse Nurture ~ Robin S. Sharma
Obeying Rules quotes by Robin S. Sharma
Lord, with what care hast Thou begirt us round! Parents first season us; then schoolmasters deliver us to laws; they send us bound to rules of reason, holy messengers, pulpits and Sundays, sorrow dogging sin, afflictions sorted, anguish of all sizes, fine nets and stratagems to catch us in, bibles laid open, millions of surprises, blessings beforehand, ties of gratefulness, the sound of glory ringing in our ears: without, our shame; within, our consciences; angels and grace, eternal hopes and fears. Yet all these fences and their whole array one cunning bosom-sin blows quite away. ~ George Herbert
Obeying Rules quotes by George Herbert
Since people, in a competitive or any other society, are by no means always just to each other, some regulation by the state in its capacity of umpire is unavoidable, What must be kept in mind is that the greatest in of all is done when the umpire forgets that he too is bound by the rules, and begins to make them as between contestants in behalf of his own prejudices. ~ Felix Morley
Obeying Rules quotes by Felix Morley
There are fixed rules in chess, and no one knows how the game will end. ~ Garry Kasparov
Obeying Rules quotes by Garry Kasparov
[I hate] the ways that people want their special needs to be met, whether it's their food allergies or their special lotions or shoes. Or the ways that people want their neighborhoods and restaurants curated in a way that's really tailored to them. Growing up with someone who was living by these very strict, repressive rules for themselves - it made me very allergic to the idea of denial. ~ Carrie Brownstein
Obeying Rules quotes by Carrie Brownstein
Neither in writing nor in reading wilt thou be able to lay down rules for others before thou shalt have first learned to obey rules thyself. ~ Marcus Aurelius
Obeying Rules quotes by Marcus Aurelius
The fault with all religions like Christianity is that they have one set of rules for all. But Hindu religion is suited to all grades of religious aspiration and progress. It contains all the ideals in their perfect form. For example, the ideal of Shanta or blessedness is to be found in Vasishtha; that of love in Krishna; that of duty in Rama and Sita; and that of intellect in Shukadeva. Study the characters of these and of other ideal men. Adopt one which suits you best. ~ Swami Vivekananda
Obeying Rules quotes by Swami Vivekananda
But before you forget, while you sit stagnant in your little corner of the board, there is one piece that obeys almost no rules and has her own commands. Utter freedom is the way of the queen. She is your most powerful piece, your very best ally, the ruination of your enemy - but only if you utilize her properly, my king. Only if you are willing to do what it takes to plumb the debts of her power to aid you to victory. Just try to win without her, and you'll see you are doomed to failure. ~ Jacquelyn Frank
Obeying Rules quotes by Jacquelyn Frank
I found him in the kitchen, at the table in the bay window, already eating his cereal.
"I was going to fix you breakfast," I said.
He grinned. "I wouldn't want you to put yourself out."
"No one can pour cereal like I can. That's true."
I crossed the kitchen. He scooted his chair back, and I sat on his lap and put my arms on his shoulders.
"Good morning," I said, right before I kissed him.
Oh, yes, this was definitely the way to start the day.
"We're in the house," he said when we stopped kissing. "Thought we had a rule about not kissing in the house."
"Yeah, we also had a house rule--no falling for the player living with us. You see how good I am at following rules."
He grinned. "Lucky for me. Why don't you come to Ruby Tuesday for lunch?"
"Okay."
"Then practice."
"Definitely."
"Maybe we could do something afterward."
"Absolutely."
He kissed me again. He tasted like bran flakes and raisins and bananas.
Me, I tasted like chocolate chip cookie dough.
It was an odd combination but it somehow worked. ~ Rachel Hawthorne
Obeying Rules quotes by Rachel Hawthorne
Rules give anarchy something to aim at. Points ~ Jodi Taylor
Obeying Rules quotes by Jodi Taylor
The important thing is that over time, scientific progress transforms things that used to have to be dealt with in a problem-solving mode down to the pattern-recognition space; and from pattern recognition into the rules-based mode. This is the mechanism by which less-trained people are enabled to do more sophisticated things. This is always the way disruption happens. It enables a larger population of less-experienced people to do more sophisticated things. ~ Clayton Christensen
Obeying Rules quotes by Clayton Christensen
Uncle had learned long ago that obeying a rule in fact but not in spirit was very hard on people who say we for I and who do not allow dogs on their premises. ~ E.L. Konigsburg
Obeying Rules quotes by E.L. Konigsburg
I never actually learned the rules of grammar, relying instead only on what sounded right. ~ Joan Didion
Obeying Rules quotes by Joan Didion
There are six canons of conservative thought:

1) Belief in a transcendent order, or body of natural law, which rules society as well as conscience. Political problems, at bottom, are religious and moral problems. A narrow rationality, what Coleridge called the Understanding, cannot of itself satisfy human needs. "Every Tory is a realist," says Keith Feiling: "he knows that there are great forces in heaven and earth that man's philosophy cannot plumb or fathom." True politics is the art of apprehending and applying the Justice which ought to prevail in a community of souls.

2) Affection for the proliferating variety and mystery of human existence, as opposed to the narrowing uniformity, egalitarianism, and utilitarian aims of most radical systems; conservatives resist what Robert Graves calls "Logicalism" in society. This prejudice has been called "the conservatism of enjoyment"--a sense that life is worth living, according to Walter Bagehot "the proper source of an animated Conservatism."

3) Conviction that civilized society requires orders and classes, as against the notion of a "classless society." With reason, conservatives have been called "the party of order." If natural distinctions are effaced among men, oligarchs fill the vacuum. Ultimate equality in the judgment of God, and equality before courts of law, are recognized by conservatives; but equality of condition, they think, means equality in servitude and boredom.

4) P ~ Russell Kirk
Obeying Rules quotes by Russell Kirk
I think that things are poetic when they don't have a boundary. Without rules. My life is poetic. ~ Mark Gonzales
Obeying Rules quotes by Mark Gonzales
Hollywood is a place where if you abide by the rules and laws, you can get depressed. That's why faith and spirituality is a higher law. ~ Derek Luke
Obeying Rules quotes by Derek Luke
Yes, but I am not human and to expect me to live by your rules or values is unrealistic. For my kind, I am quite altruistic." Tyler Jones/Dhavenbahtek to Thulu and La Fi. ~ Maer Wilson
Obeying Rules quotes by Maer Wilson
The world is the schoolroom of God. Our being in school does not make us learn, but within that school is the opportunity for all learning. It has its grades and its classes, its sciences and its arts, and admission to it is the birthright of man. Its graduates are its teachers, its pupils are all created things. Its examples are Mature, and its rules are God's laws. Those who would go into the greater colleges and universities must first, day by day, and year by year, work through the common school of life and present to their new teachers the diplomas they have won, upon which is written the name that none may read save those who have received it. The hours may be long, and the teachers cruel, but each of us must walk that path, and the only ones ready to go onward are those who have passed through the gateway of experience. ~ Manly P. Hall
Obeying Rules quotes by Manly P. Hall
Speed takes a little bit of getting used to, but rules have to be followed. At any speed, the more you run, the more you get used to it. ~ Mario Andretti
Obeying Rules quotes by Mario Andretti
But you don't sign up for certain things without knowing the rules, Erin. And if you've signed up for the game, then you can't complain when you lose. You got to lose with dignity is all; a good sportsman always lets people lose with dignity. ~ Catherine Steadman
Obeying Rules quotes by Catherine Steadman
What is wrong with strengthening the opposition? You lose nothing, ... But let them abide by the rules. ~ Hosni Mubarak
Obeying Rules quotes by Hosni Mubarak
You can find God if you will only seek - by obeying divine laws, by loving people, by relinquishing self-will, attachments, negative thoughts and feelings. And when you find God it will be in stillness. You will find God within. ~ Peace Pilgrim
