A wound gives strange dignity to him who bears it. Well men shy from his new and terrible majesty. It is as if the wounded man's hand is upon the curtain which hangs before the revelations of all existence - the meaning of ants, potentates, wars, cities, sunshine, snow, a feather dropped from a bird's wing; and the power of it sheds radiance upon a bloody form, and makes the other men understand sometimes that they are little. His comrades look at him with large eyes thoughtfully. Moreover, they fear vaguely that the weight of a finger upon him might send him headlong, precipitate the tragedy, hurl him at once into the dim, gray unknown.
("An Episode Of War") ~ Stephen Crane
Moomins Episode quotes by Stephen Crane
'Bionic Woman' changed direction too much from episode to episode, which I think is why it lost momentum. ~ Michelle Ryan
Moomins Episode quotes by Michelle Ryan
I'm not usually this emotional," I say. He shrugs. "All women say that. It usually precedes an episode of batshit craziness. ~ Tammy Falkner
Moomins Episode quotes by Tammy Falkner
I wished Adam weren't jumping in for his turn.
Because watching Adam wakeboard was not relaxing. He wasn't careful when wakeboarding. Or in general. He was the opposite of careful. His life was one big episode of Jackass. He would do anything on a dare, so the older boys dared him a lot. My role in this game was to run and tell their mom. If I'd been able to run faster when we were kids, I might have saved Adam from a broken arm, several cracked ribs, and a couple of snake bites.
Knowing this, it might not make a lot of sense that Mr. Vader let us wakeboard for the marina. But we'd come to wakeboarding only gradually. When we first started out, it was more like, Look at the very young children on water skis! How adorable. One time the local newspaper ran a photo of me and Adam waterskiing double, each of us holding up an American flag. It's okay for you to gag now. I can take it.
But Mr. Vader was no fool. He understood things changed. After the second time Adam broke his collarbone, Mr. Vader put us under strict orders not to get hurt, because it was bad for business. Customers might not be so eager to buy a wakeboard and all the equipment if they witnessed our watery death. To enforce this rule, the punishment for bleeding in the boat was that we had to clean the boat. Adam cleaned the boat a lot last summer. ~ Jennifer Echols
Moomins Episode quotes by Jennifer Echols
The economics of television syndication and DVD sales mean that there's a tremendous financial pressure to make programs that can be watched multiple times, revealing new nuances and shadings on the third viewing. Meanwhile, the Web has created a forum for annotation and commentary that allows more complicated shows to prosper, thanks to the fan sites where each episode of shows like 'Lost' or 'Alias' is dissected with an intensity usually reserved for Talmud scholars. ~ Steven Johnson
Moomins Episode quotes by Steven Johnson
Consider these traditional theories of domestic abuse:
-Learned helplessness suggest that abused women learn to become helpless under abusive conditions; they are powerless to extricate themselves from such relationships and/or unable to make adaptive choices
-The cycle of violence describes a pattern that includes a contrition or honeymoon phase. The abusive husband becomes contrite and apologetic after a violent episode, making concerted efforts to get back in his wife's good graces.
-Traumatic bonding attempts to explain the inexplicable bond that is formed between a woman and her abusive partner
-The theory of past reenactments posits that women in abusive relationships are reliving unconscious feelings from early childhood scenarios.
My research results and experience with patients do not conform to these concepts. I have found that the upscale abused wife is not a victim of learned helplessness. Rather, she makes specific decisions along the path to be involved in the abusive marriage, including silent strategizing as she chooses to stay or leave the marriage. Nor does the upscale abused wife experience the classic cycle of violence, replete with the honeymoon stage, in which the husband courts his wife to seek her forgiveness. As in the case of Sally and Ray, the man of means actually does little to seek his wife's forgiveness after a violent episode.
Further, the upscale abused wife voices more attachment to her lifestyle than the trauma ~ Susan Weitzman
Moomins Episode quotes by Susan Weitzman
Elric: We are dreamers, shapers, singers, and makers. We study the mysteries of laser and circuit, crystal and scanner, holographic demons and invocation of equations. These are the tools we employ, and we know many things.

John Sheridan: Such as?

Elric: The true secrets, the important things. Fourteen words to make someone fall in love with you forever. Seven words to make them go without pain. How to say good-bye to a friend who is dying. How to be poor. How to be rich. How to rediscover dreams when the world has stolen them. That is why we are going away - to preserve that knowledge.

Sheridan: From what?

Elric: There is a storm coming, a black and terrible storm. We would not have our knowledge lost or used to ill purpose. From this place we will launch ourselves into the stars. With luck, you will never see our kind again in your lifetime. I know you have your orders, Captain. Detain us if you wish. But I cannot tell you where we are going. I can only ask you to trust us. ~ J. Michael Straczynski
Moomins Episode quotes by J. Michael Straczynski
Why does everyone think the future is space helmets, silver foil, and talking like computers, like a bad episode of Star Trek? ~ Tracey Ullman
Moomins Episode quotes by Tracey Ullman
A mother deserves a day off to care for a sick child or sick parent without running into hardship - and you know what, a father does, too. It's time to do away with workplace policies that belong in a 'Mad Men' episode. ~ Barack Obama
Moomins Episode quotes by Barack Obama
I don't like going out that much. I'm kind of an old lady. After it's 11, I'm like, 'Don't these kids ever get tired?' When I'm out, I think about my couch. Like, 'It would be awesome to be on it right now. I bet there's an episode of Dance Moms on. ~ Jennifer Lawrence

If I'm not experiencing an episode then it's just the fear that one is right around the corner. I have no escape. ~ Jeannine Allison
Moomins Episode quotes by Jeannine Allison
Working with an incredibly strong script is the thing that gives you the most confidence. If you go into an episode knowing the script is strong, I just feel like that's where it all starts. All collaborations that happen, in addition to that, are just bonuses, at that point. ~ Ty Burrell
Moomins Episode quotes by Ty Burrell
Star Wars Episode Three (And One Quarter): Revenge Of The Hicks ~ Ron White
Moomins Episode quotes by Ron White
Allie." Dean leans forward and fixes me with an eerily somber stare. "This show is fucking stupid."

"I know," I say sheepishly. "But it's addictive. Trust me, one episode of this crap and you'll be hooked."

"Sorry, baby doll, but I can pretty much guarantee that's not gonna happen."

*

Dean

It happened.

God help me. I'm into this show.

I came over tonight with the single-minded purpose of working the charm and convincing Allie to get naked with me again. Instead, I'm sipping on a margarita, I've just watched two hours' worth of a French soap opera, and now I'm texting Logan to let him know I won't make it to Malone's. Because…God help me…I want to know what happens next. ~ Elle Kennedy
Moomins Episode quotes by Elle Kennedy
Then I go in the den and turn on Law & Order, since the only thing i can really count on in life is that whenever I turn on the TV, there will be a Law & Order episode. ~ David Levithan
Moomins Episode quotes by David Levithan

You don't have to hurt somebody just to make sure they don't hurt you first." Hawkeye, in one of his less cynical moments. ~ M*A*S*H Episode Guide Team
Moomins Episode quotes by M*A*S*H Episode Guide Team
My feeling is, from when I started on 'Breaking Bad,' there's no reason to pick and choose because every episode is great. Whatever episode you get, you're lucky to do it. ~ Michelle MacLaren
Moomins Episode quotes by Michelle MacLaren
The television business is based on managed dissatisfaction. You're watching a great television show you're really wrapped up in? You might get 50 minutes of watching a week and then 18,000 minutes of waiting until the next episode comes along. ~ Ted Sarandos
Moomins Episode quotes by Ted Sarandos
If you look closely at 'Breaking Bad' and any given episode of 'The X Files,' you will realise the structure is exactly the same. ~ Vince Gilligan
Moomins Episode quotes by Vince Gilligan
We ate all of this in front of Tack's huge, flat-screen TV in the living room where I was treated to a marathon of Storage Wars. Seeing as I didn't watch TV, I'd never heard of this program. But by the second episode I was hooked. I declared that I thought Brandi and Jarrod were "adorable" together, which for some reason he didn't explain made Rush laugh so hard I thought he would bust a gut. Rush might find that funny but I decided I was going to start dressing like Brandi. She always looked the shit. I also shared that Dave was my favorite "character" to which Tabby told me with grave seriousness, "But, Tyra, he's the bad guy. ~ Kristen Ashley
Moomins Episode quotes by Kristen Ashley
If you're working with a band and you really want to work them into the episode, you've got to say to them, "Look, we need you around every day and on Tuesday night all night because we need you to do voices as we're changing stuff." We do the show so quickly, and you just can't get bands to do that. It's not really fair. ~ Matt Stone
Moomins Episode quotes by Matt Stone
If I watch an episode of SNL, and there's one thing that I liked, then that's a good episode. ~ Andy Samberg
Moomins Episode quotes by Andy Samberg
I pitched a storyline, and as far as I know it's been picked up. It's for the third and final episode I'm contracted to do. But I can't give any spoilers. ~ Corin Nemec
Moomins Episode quotes by Corin Nemec
The next thing I notice is the sheer quantity of crap in my living room...It's like a terrible episode of Changing Rooms. Flat has been redecorated to look immeasurably worse. Can only conclude that she was doing it on purpose - nobody could be this tasteless accidentally. ~ Beth O'Leary
Moomins Episode quotes by Beth O'Leary
It's very different doing a food show in America and doing one in Britain. I did a 20-part series for the BBC series called 'Eating With the Enemy.' The budget for all 20 episodes was probably the budget for a single episode of 'Top Chef.' It's the difference between making a home movie in your backyard and going to Hollywood. ~ Toby Young
Moomins Episode quotes by Toby Young
I can't think straight around her. I think love
is turning me into a Disney character. Damn it. I always
thought I'd be someone interesting out of a Star Trek
episode, but I kind of want to break into a song a little.
Just a little. ~ Lexi Blake
Moomins Episode quotes by Lexi Blake
[If there was] certainty that an acute episode [of depression] will last only a week, a month, even a year, it would change everything. It would still be a ghastly ordeal, but the worst thing about it - the incessant yearning for death, the compulsion toward suicide - would drop away. But no, a limited depression, a depression with hope, is a contradiction. The experience of convulsive pain, along with the conviction that it will never end except in death - that is the definition of a severe depression. ~ George Scialabba
Moomins Episode quotes by George Scialabba
Churchill often reflected on this near-death episode and the effect of chance. 'You may walk to the right or to the left of a particular tree, and it makes the difference whether you rise to command an Army Corps or are sent home crippled or paralysed for life. ~ Phil Mason
Moomins Episode quotes by Phil Mason
Each family prayer, each episode of family scripture study, and each family home evening is a brushstroke on the canvas of our souls. No one event may appear to be very impressive or memorable. But just as the yellow and gold and brown strokes of paint complement each other and produce an impressive masterpiece, so our consistency in doing seemingly small things can lead to significant spiritual results. ~ David A. Bednar
Moomins Episode quotes by David A. Bednar
I think where it's going is toward what the music industry is like, where channels will be considered more like labels that carry the type of TV show that you like, and then you'll consume them however you can. For example, I don't really watch Showtime, but I bought 'Homeland,' and I've been watching every episode on my iPad. ~ Adam Pally
Moomins Episode quotes by Adam Pally
I can't help but think that, comic book-wise, this whole episode would probably fill nothing but a couple interlude frames; like that moment where a character has a sepia-tinted dream before crashing back into their real story. ~ Melissa Keil
Moomins Episode quotes by Melissa Keil
LOST is often lauded as one of the best fantasy dramas in television history, as well as one of the most cryptic and - occasionally – maddening. But confirmation of just how important it is came with an almost unbelievable communiqué from the White House last week. President Obama's office reassured Lost fans that the commander in chief wouldn't move his yearly state of the union address from late January to a date that would coincide with the premiere episode of the show's sixth and final season.
That's right. Obama might have had vital information to impart upon the American people about health care, the war in Afghanistan, the financial crisis – things that, you know, might affect real lives.
But the most important thing was that his address didn't clash with a series in which a polar bear appears on a tropical island.
After extensive lobbying by the ABC network, the White House surrendered. Obama's press secretary promised: "I don't foresee a scenario in which millions of people who hope to finally get some conclusion with Lost are pre-empted by the president. ~ Ben East
Moomins Episode quotes by Ben East
I've already got the storm figured out. Some idiot blew up the sun. Some dumb Russian general pushed the wrong button and launched one of their million missiles, or maybe NASA misaimed one of our test rockets. Either way, the sun is gone and we're now engaged in a nuclear shootout. It's the end of everything. Batman and Superman aren't coming and James Bond doesn't have a trick up his sleeve to save us this time. In a week or a month, we'll all freeze to death, just like in that Twilight Zone episode where the pretty lady is burning up with fever, dreaming the sun is baking the world dry, when really the Earth has dropped out of orbit, is hurtling further and further away from the sun, rapidly turning into a big ball of ice. ~ Bob Thurber
Moomins Episode quotes by Bob Thurber
Ryan was not only gregarious but also a happily married inamorato! (Around the facility, when the other coaches teased him about this episode, Ryan would retort affably, "I'm the only guy in history who gets in a sex scandal with his wife!") ~ Nicholas Dawidoff
Moomins Episode quotes by Nicholas Dawidoff
Well, I just finished starring in a new episode of the new The Twilight Zone television series. ~ Bill Mumy
Moomins Episode quotes by Bill Mumy
I don't like people much, and I like doctors even less. ~ Star Trek: The Next Generation Episode Guide Team
Moomins Episode quotes by Star Trek: The Next Generation Episode Guide Team
Watching a movie with an audience is so exciting. For me, coming from TV, you finish an episode and then it airs, and I'm at home. There's no gratification and there's no audience interaction with it. ~ Genndy Tartakovsky
Moomins Episode quotes by Genndy Tartakovsky
When I came out to L. A., I got a part in an episode of 'Star Trek: Voyager,' and I hired an acting coach. ~ Sarah Silverman
Moomins Episode quotes by Sarah Silverman
(Episode 9. Hijikata finds Gintoki on a rooftop and challenges him to a duel to avenge Kondo's defeat earlier. Gintoki doesn't want to fight him, so breaks Hijikata's sword easily, and leaves. It's then revealed that Okita and Kondo had been watching them clash, from another rooftop.)

Okita Sougou:
"He's an interesting man.
I'd like to cross swords with him, myself."

Kondo:
"Don't bother. He'll kick your ass, Sougou."
"He's the kind of guy fighting another battle far away,
even as a sword swings at his throat."
"Fair or unfair, it doesn't matter to him."

(Not knowing that Kondo & Okita were watching his duel from a high vantage point, Hijikata lights a cigarette and sits back.)

Hijikata (watching the blue sky above him):
"Sorry, Kondo-san. I lost to him, as well ... ~ Kondo Isao - Gintama
Moomins Episode quotes by Kondo Isao - Gintama
I think I just had a minor psychotic episode or maybe a breakdown or something, but it's cool; I'm feeling basically okay now," I replied, closing the van doors. "You? ~ Mira Grant
Moomins Episode quotes by Mira Grant
My manager and fellow YouTuber, Mike Lamond, encouraged me to start a YouTube channel as a way to practice speaking, entertaining, and being more comfortable in front of a camera. In the beginning, I used an $80 dollar flip-camera and edited every episode myself. ~ Rosanna Pansino
Moomins Episode quotes by Rosanna Pansino
I cocked an ear, but there was nothing much to hear. A girl was on the phone next door, complaining about some guy to a girlfriend, and someone down a floor was either talking to his cat or having a psychotic episode, but both voices were clearer than the soft noises coming from the living room. The vamps were presumably cleaning the wounds better than I'd been able to do at the bar, and bandaging him up. I knew nobody was planning a snack– it would be like offering people used to Beluga caviar and Dom Perignon a sack of stale Fritos and a flat Coke. Sloppy seconds weren't likely to appeal. ~ Karen Chance
Moomins Episode quotes by Karen Chance
Here's the thing: I did one episode of Deep Space Nine, and I loved everybody that I worked with. People couldn't have been kinder ... But I had a really, really difficult time with the prosthetics. ~ Andrea Martin
Moomins Episode quotes by Andrea Martin
Before I was 12 years old, I had no interest in music; I was just into football. Then I heard Don McLean's 'Vincent' come on at the end of an episode of 'The Simpsons.' You know when you hear something and you don't understand why you like it, you just do? That's how I felt. I just thought, 'I want to be able to write songs like that.' ~ Jake Bugg
Moomins Episode quotes by Jake Bugg
Each time I do a trilogy it's ten years out of my life. I'll finish Episode III and I'll be 60. And the next 20 years after that I want to spend doing something other than Star Wars. If at 80 I'm still lively and having a good time and think I can work for another 10 years between 80 and 90, I might consider it. But don't count on it. There's nothing written, and it's not like I'm completing something. I'd have to start from scratch. The idea of a third trilogy was more of a media thing than it was me. ~ George Lucas
Moomins Episode quotes by George Lucas
I'm constantly pitching one episode where we see life through Castle's eyes. I think Castle's just a little off as far as his perception goes. A very, very clever man, but I want to see the world as Castle sees it - kind of a rose-colored glasses, all the women find him irresistible, all the guys find him super cool and do whatever he says. ~ Nathan Fillion
