I think, when someone say, "When did you feel like an actor?" it's those moments when I feel like, "I'm an actor, wow." That's an extraordinary moment for me. So it's not like I walk around going, "I'm an actor." ~ Jake Gyllenhaal
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Jake Gyllenhaal
Extraordinary moments often involve a sense of connection, as well as communication, with something that we intuitively know goes well beyond this plane of reality. ~ Susan Barbara Apollon
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Susan Barbara Apollon
Twinkle lights are the perfect metaphor for joy. Joy is not a constant. It comes to us in moments - often ordinary moments. Sometimes we miss out on the bursts of joy because we're too busy chasing down extraordinary moments. Other times we're so afraid of the dark that we don't dare let ourselves enjoy the light. A joyful life is not a floodlight of joy. That would eventually become unbearable. I believe a joyful life is made up of joyful moments gracefully strung together by trust, gratitude, inspiration, and faith. ~ Brene Brown
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Brene Brown
I think that you appreciate that there are extraordinary men and women and extraordinary moments when history leaps forward on the backs of these individuals, that what can be imagined can be achieved, that you must dare to dream, but that there's no substitute for perseverance and hard work and teamwork because no one gets there alone; and that, while we commemorate the ... the greatness of these events and the individuals who achieve them, we cannot forget the sacrifice of those who make these achievements and leaps possible. ~ Chris Carter
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Chris Carter
For better or worse, most of my writing life has been about people that work behind the scenes. I'm interested in finding extraordinary moments in otherwise normal people. ~ Mark Boal
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Mark Boal
I always say to myself, what is the most important thing we can think about at this extraordinary moment. ~ Francois De La Rochefoucauld
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Francois De La Rochefoucauld
I would like to prove that on TV, everyday lives can be as compelling as the life-styles of the rich and famous. Especially lives that we catch at extraordinary moments. ~ Jane Pauley
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Jane Pauley
It is a known fact that the most extraordinary moments in a girl's life come disguised as ordinary days. ~ Natalie Lloyd
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Natalie Lloyd
You find the most important things in life suddenly. And it's almost funny how ordinary those extraordinary moments feel. ~ Sonali Dev
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Sonali Dev
Love was more than just a fleeting desire, or a brief glimpse into a fairy tale, or a flash of playful flirtation in her beautiful hazel eyes. It was more than infatuation with a person's best qualities, or reluctant acceptance of their less appealing traits. Real love meant loving the whole person, in every form, in every state, in every way. It was what transformed the ordinary monotony of everyday life into extraordinary moments of warmth and compassion and joy. ~ Jacqueline E. Smith
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Jacqueline E. Smith
Those moments you spend for love are the extraordinary moments of life. ~ Debasish Mridha
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Debasish Mridha
I think what I loved in cinema - and what I mean by cinema is not just films, but proper, classical cinema - are the extraordinary moments that can occur on screen. At the same time, I do feel that cinema and theater feed each other. I feel like you can do close-up on stage and you can do something very bold and highly characterized - and, dare I say, theatrical - on camera. I think the cameras and the viewpoints shift depending on the intensity and integrity of your intention and focus on that. ~ Benedict Cumberbatch
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Benedict Cumberbatch
Maybe it's wrong when we remember breakthroughs to our own being as something that occurs in discrete, extraordinary moments. Maybe falling in love, the piercing knowledge that we ourselves will someday die, and the love of snow are in reality not some sudden events; maybe they were always present. Maybe they never completely vanish, either. ~ Peter Hoeg
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Peter Hoeg
A good life happens when you stop and are grateful for the ordinary moments that so many of us just steamroll over to try to find those extraordinary moments. ~ Brene Brown
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Brene Brown
The part of you that is unhampered by illusion-the illusion of time, the illusion of powerlessness, the illusion of impossibility-i s waiting for you to slow down and open up so that it can speak to your consciousness. In some unguarded moment, you will hear its wildly improbable words and know that they are guiding you home. ~ Martha Beck
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Martha Beck
Flowers grow out of dark moments. ~ Corita Kent
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Corita Kent
They have both loved you with a child's love, and now a man's. It is the child's love that holds you together ... cemented by the moments you shared with them that they treasure most. ~ A.G. Howard
Extraordinary Moments quotes by A.G. Howard
It's about knowing that in certain moments you have to offer yourself up as a minor sacrifice to help them accomplish what they need to accomplish. Letting them abuse you, on the other hand, would be a terrible disservice. I know it seems like a fine line, but it's a real one, and it can be done. ~ Patrick Lencioni
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Patrick Lencioni
You spend very little time in the present moment. Reality exists only in the present moment. Therefore you spend very little time in reality. ~ Leonard Jacobson
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Leonard Jacobson
I have such respect for ... the Kennedy Center Honors. To be an artist in America and to be honored for it is extraordinary. In Europe, they really honor their artists. And you are on a very high level. And here it's not as revered as it is in Europe or Russia or anywhere in the world. ~ Patricia McBride
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Patricia McBride
The more we identify and acknowledge moments when we're unable to share in someone else's pleasure and ask ourselves whether another person's happiness truly jeopardizes our own, the more we pave the way for experiencing sympathetic joy ~ Sharon Salzberg
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Sharon Salzberg
People with a sense of humor tend to be less egocentric and more realistic in their view of the world and more humble in moments of success and less defeated in times of travail. ~ Bob Newhart
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Bob Newhart
In the moments after she spoke I remember thinking that if she was in some way correct she was, however, not right. That of course life is random, a series of coincidences, etc., but that to live you must attempt to make sense of it, and that's what narrative's for. I believe this, people of a certain sensibility believe this. Mostly it's harmless. Though perhaps sometimes you find yourself doing things because you think the narrative arc calls for it, or because you've grown bored with your own plot, things you shouldn't do because they will, these things, hurt the other characters in your story, who are not characters after all, but people. But then people do evil often and with less elaborate justifications. ~ Miranda Popkey
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Miranda Popkey
Preschoolers make a number of assumptions about words and their meaning as they acquire language, one of the most important of which is what the psychologist Ellen Markman calls the principle of mutual exclusivity. Simply put, this means that small children have difficulty believing that any one object can have two different names. The natural assumption of children, Markman argues, is that if an object or person is given a second label, then that label must refer to some secondary property or attribute of that object. You can see how useful this assumption is to a child faced with the extraordinary task of assigning a word to everything in the world. A child who learns the word elephant knows, with absolute certainty, that it is something different from a dog. Each new word makes the child's knowledge of the world more precise. Without mutual exclusivity, by contrast, if a child thought that elephant could simply be another label for dog, then each new word would make the world seem more complicated. Mutual exclusivity also helps the child think clearly. "Suppose," Markman writes, "a child who already knows 'apple' and 'red' hears someone refer to an apple as 'round.' By mutual exclusivity, the child can eliminate the object (apple) and its color (red) as the meaning of 'round' and can try to analyze the object for some other property to label. ~ Malcolm Gladwell
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Malcolm Gladwell
We must remember that everything is ordinary and extraordinary. It is our minds that either open or close. ~ Natalie Goldberg
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Natalie Goldberg
My lord," said D'Artagnan, "Monsieur de Vallon [Porthos] is like me, he prefers service extraordinary - that is to say, enterprises that are considered mad and impossible. ~ Alexandre Dumas
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Alexandre Dumas
The autumn hill gathers the remaining light, A flying bird chases after its companion. The green color is bright And brings me into the moment, like a sunset mist that has no fixed place. ~ Wang Wei
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Wang Wei
We had our unhappy moments but they got channelled into the kind of sadness that was necessary for singing a song about going nowhere. So it worked out very well I think. ~ Tina Weymouth
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Tina Weymouth
My uncle, gentlemen, could say nothing; he was so very much astonished The queerest thing of all, was, that although there was such a crowd of persons, and although fresh faces were pouring in, every moment, there was no telling where they came from. They seemed to start up, in some strange manner, from the ground, or the air, and disappear in the same way. ~ Charles Dickens
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Charles Dickens
My caddie 'Stovepipe' tried to talk me into hitting a 3-wood. But I took out the turf rider (4-wood) instead. The moment I hit it, I felt something in my bones. Walter Hagen was playing with me and Bobby Jones was on the green. 21 people were behind the green. The sun was going down. I wasn't sure it had gone in the hole until I saw all 21 people jumping up and down. ~ Gene Sarazen
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Gene Sarazen
We can use decision-making to choose the habits we want to form, use willpower to get the habit started, then - and this is the best part - we can allow the extraordinary power of habit to take over. At that point, we're free from the need to decide and the need to use willpower. ~ Gretchen Rubin
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Gretchen Rubin
When you have worked this hard to get this far, don't let up because you finally got here. Finish with your heart and fulfill this moment the way you have dreamt of it for so long. ~ Kristin Kreuk
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Kristin Kreuk
In the variety of the tone of her words, moods, hugs, kisses, brushes of the lips, and this night the upside-down kiss over the back of the chair with her dark eyes heavy hanging and her blushing cheeks full of sweet blood and sudden tenderness brooding like a hawk over the boy over the back, holding the chair on both sides, just an instant, the startling sudden sweet fall of her hair over my face and the soft downward brush of her lips, a moment's penetration of sweet lip flesh, a moment's drowned in thinking and kissing in it and praying and hoping and in the mouth of life when life is young to burn cool skin eye-blinking joy - I held her captured upside down, also for just a second, and savored the kiss which first had surprised me like a blind man's bluff so I didn't know really who was kissing me for the very first instant but now I knew and knew everything more than ever, as, grace-wise, she descended to me from the upper dark where I'd thought only cold could be and with all her heavy lips and breast in my neck and on my head and sudden fragrance of the night brought with her from the porch, of some 5 & 10 cheap perfumes of herself the little hungry scent of perspiration warm in her flesh like presciousness. ~ Jack Kerouac
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Jack Kerouac
The rain began to fall harder, and it distracted him, but he tried to pull himself back because he felt on the verge of understanding something large and important. It seemed to him that this moment - the light and wind, the sweep of fields, the falling rain, the lowing cows, Leah's form as it twisted to one side and then another - captured a sort of life that he longed for, a life of order and harsh beauty, and although this was his farm and his vision, it did not seem to be his life. It seemed instead to be the thing for which he must daily give up his life, an act of submission to something he could not name and only rarely, in moments such as these, have a sense of. Life during these moments seemed neither lost nor ruined but a power to be shared, as the grass shares its power with the living things that devour it. ~ Robert Boswell
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Robert Boswell
Everything in life had its phases, and if you were smart, you learned to appreciate them all.

What really mattered, though, were the people in those moments with you. Memories are what we have and what we keep, and I held mine close. The ones I knew well, like a night on the beach with a boy who would always live in my heart, and the ones yet to come with another. ~ Sarah Dessen
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Sarah Dessen
You never have these moments that, you know, are always perfect. Always something happens. ~ Marjane Satrapi
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Marjane Satrapi
The whole point of meditation is not to follow the path laid down by thought to what it considers to be truth, enlightenment or reality. There is no path to truth. The following of any path leads to what thought has already formulated and, however pleasant or satisfying, it is not truth. It is a fallacy to think that a system of meditation, the constant practising of that system in daily life for a few given moments, or the repetition of it during the day, will bring about clarity or understanding. Meditation lies beyond all this and, like love, cannot be cultivated by thought. As long as the thinker exists to meditate, meditation is merely a part of that self-isolation which is the common movement of one's everyday life. ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Jiddu Krishnamurti
I hope your mamma is quite well?"
This unexpected inquiry put me into such a difficulty that I began saying in the absurdest way that if there had been any such person I had no doubt that she would have been quite well and would have been very much obliged and would have sent her compliments, when the nurse came to my rescue. ~ Charles Dickens
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Charles Dickens
Once you have found yourself and accepted your aloneness, then the greatest blessing is to share the love that arises within you. Each new moment presents the richest opportunity to be loving. And you can share love in the simplest of ways. Be soft and gentle. Be caring and kind. Be loving in an ordinary way, without any sense of wanting anything back, Life offers you the most precious gift. The gift of allowing you to be present and share love. ~ Leonard Jacobson
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Leonard Jacobson
Was at moments such as these that Joseph recognized the face of God in human form. It glimmered in their kindness to him, it glowed in their keenness, it hinted in their caring, indeed it caressed in their gaze.' ~ R.J. Palacio
Extraordinary Moments quotes by R.J. Palacio
The direction in which we are moving is more important than where we are at the moment. Goal setting should cause us to stretch as we make our way. ~ Marvin J. Ashton
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Marvin J. Ashton
To defend my fear of sudden change, I chose to believe that life was incremental, that the tiny decisions you make every day determine your fate, that your job is to captain an enormous ship subtly into ever-clearer waters. But that's not how it works at all. Life occurs in moments. You get into college. You propose. You get the job. You get cancer. You get fired. She leaves you ... Because I was born in a stable country at a stable time, I falsely extrapolated that change is incremental. But if you zoom out just a little bit, you see that life is soccer, not basketball. It's revolution, invention, war. It's big bangs, exploding stars, asteroids killing the dinosaurs. Which means that all the action is in the risk taking, whether I want it to be or not. ~ Joel Stein
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Joel Stein
There are moments in our life that feel so perfect and so real. These are the moments that we live for. The moments we never want to end... ~ Jose N Harris
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Jose N Harris
What are you doing here? They shared one of those awkward kiss-hug-or-what moments, ending up kissing on the cheek. Odd, that. She and Lex had never really been cheek-kissers, but since they weren't kissing anywhere else these days she guessed it was the thing to do. ~ Stacia Kane
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Stacia Kane
The death of Baldr is one of the most important moments in the mythology. ~ John Lindow
Extraordinary Moments quotes by John Lindow
The best moments in reading are when you come across something – a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things – which you had thought special and particular to you. Now here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out and taken yours. ~ Alan Bennett
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Alan Bennett
You just never know when somebody's gonna die. It could happen at any moment so you've got to really treat everybody that way. Just really let everybody know how you feel about them. ~ John Frusciante
Extraordinary Moments quotes by John Frusciante
You were never what he wanted you to be. And more than even I hoped. In weak moments, I might credit the lieutenant for some of that. ~ J.D. Robb
Extraordinary Moments quotes by J.D. Robb
At those moments his secret loathing of Big Brother changed into adoration, and Big Brother seemed to tower up, an invincible, fearless protector, standing like a rock against the hordes ~ George Orwell
Extraordinary Moments quotes by George Orwell
The safari was amazing, to actually see the elephants and the Lions up close and then right at the end to actually get in the cage with the Lion was one of the best moments of the tour. ~ Ugo Monye
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Ugo Monye
I'm not extraordinary in any traditional sense. I don't need to stand out. I'm often overwhelmed by attention. But I will tell you this. I will soar above those walls that you think protect you. I will believe in you as hard as I can and never let go of who I know you can be. I will be vulnerable enough to let the world break me, but strong enough to never wear the armor. I will stand over every line and make you believe you can do the same. It's an unquietness I feel deep inside. It's not about being extraordinary, you see. It's not about standing out. It's simply about shedding all that's false. And believing with everything I have that you can too. ~ Jacqueline Simon Gunn
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Jacqueline Simon Gunn
To me there are two Hitlers: one who existed until the end of the French war; the other begins with the Russian campaign. In the beginning he was genial and pleasant. He would have extraordinary willpower and unheard-of influence on people. The important thing to remember is that the first Hitler, the man who I knew until the end of the French war, had much charm and goodwill. He was always frank. The second Hitler, who existed from the beginning of the Russian campaign until his suicide, was always suspicious, easily upset, and tense. He was distrustful to an extreme degree. ~ Hermann Goring
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Hermann Goring
An extraordinary dream by lord charles wellesley. (Charlotte Bronte)
'In this slumber i thought i was walking on the banks of a river ... Which murmered over small pebbles at the bottom, gleaming like crystals through the silver stream' 'and the green buds of the wild rose trees around were unopened' 'and a mild warmth were shed from the sun ... Then at its height in the blue sky ~ Charlotte Bronte
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Charlotte Bronte
When you love someone, it seeps out of everything you do, it bleeds into everything you say, it becomes so ever-present, that eventually it becomes ordinary to hear, no matter how extraordinary it is to feel. ~ Taylor Jenkins Reid
Extraordinary Moments quotes by Taylor Jenkins Reid
