Courage To Change quotes by Stephen Covey
God already granted you the serenity to accept the things you cannot change; already planted within you the courage to change the things you can; and has equipped you with the wisdom to know the difference. Stop asking for blessings you have already received. God has powered you for this experience, move forward and activate this blessing. ~ Steve Maraboli
Courage To Change quotes by Steve Maraboli
It only takes one minute of bravery. One minute of insane, embarrassingly crazy courage to change your life. Sometimes, it only takes that one minute for something great to happen. ~ Max Monroe
Courage To Change quotes by Max Monroe
Happiness wasn't something you found, happiness was something you made-by living in the moment, by cherishing the people in your life right now, by finding the courage to change those things you didn't like. ~ Laura Kaye
Courage To Change quotes by Laura Kaye
Oh My Lord! grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things that I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

خداوندا به من آرامشی عطا کن که بپذیرم آنچه نمی‌توانم تغییر دهم و جراتی که تغییر دهم آنچه را که می‌توانم و علمی که تفاوت این دو را دریابم ~ Ali Shariati
Courage To Change quotes by Ali Shariati
I finished polishing the clock and picked up one of the figurines next to it. It was in the shape of an angel and on the angel's gown were printed the words: ALMIGHTY GOD, GIVE US SERENITY TO ACCEPT WHAT CANNOT BE CHANGED, COURAGE TO CHANGE WHAT SHOULD BE CHANGED, AND WISDOM TO KNOW THE ONE FROM THE OTHER. What if you couldn't do that? Couldn't change things and couldn't accept them, either? I took hold of the angel's head and snapped it off. And then I snapped one wing off, and then the other. I broke his arms off, too, and then I asked him how serene he was feeling now ~ Jennifer Donnelly
Courage To Change quotes by Jennifer Donnelly
Better, Josef, far better, to have the courage to change your convictions. Duty and faithfulness are shams, curtains to hide behind. Self-liberation means a sacred no, even to duty. ~ Irvin D. Yalom
Courage To Change quotes by Irvin D. Yalom
There is nobody who totally lacks the courage to change. ~ Rollo May
Courage To Change quotes by Rollo May
God, give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed, courage to change the things which should be changed and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other. ~ Reinhold Niebuhr
Courage To Change quotes by Reinhold Niebuhr
Accept the things I cannot change," I said. "And pray for the courage to change the things I can, as well as the wisdom to know the difference."
The thing is ... I know this is good advice. It's called the Serenity Prayer, and it really does put things in perspective (it's suppose to be for recovering alcoholics, but it helps recovering freakoutaholics, like me, as well). ~ Meg Cabot
Courage To Change quotes by Meg Cabot
It takes tremendous courage to change and grow up to be what we want to be. ~ Debasish Mridha
Courage To Change quotes by Debasish Mridha
The key to developing the courage to change is to first accept that change is inevitable. ~ Wallace Nesbitt
Courage To Change quotes by Wallace Nesbitt
* We can still alter our course. It is NOT too late. We still have options. We need the courage to change our values to the regeneration of our families, the life that surrounds us. ~ Oren Lyons
Courage To Change quotes by Oren Lyons
God grant me the serentiy to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom always to tell the difference. ~ Kurt Vonnegut
Courage To Change quotes by Kurt Vonnegut
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen. ~ Reinhold Niebuhr
Courage To Change quotes by Reinhold Niebuhr
In 2017, I was invited to lead a mindfulness workshop and guide a live meditation on Mingus Mountain, Arizona, to over 100 men and women at a recovery retreat. On the eve of my workshop, I had the opportunity to join in a men's twelve-step meeting, which took place by the campfire in Prescott National Park Forest, with at least 40 men recovering from childhood grief and trauma. The meeting grounded us in what was a large retreat with many unfamiliar faces. I was the only mixed-race Brit, surrounded by mostly white middle-class American men (baby boomers and Generation X), yet our common bond of validating each other's wounds in recovery utterly transcended any differences of nationality, race and heritage. We shared our pain and hope in a non-shaming environment, listening and allowing every man to have his say without interruption. At the end of the meeting we stood up in a large circle and recited the serenity prayer:

"God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know that one is me".

After the meeting closed, I felt that I belonged and I was enthusiastic about the retreat, even though I was thousands of miles away from England. ~ Christopher Dines
Courage To Change quotes by Christopher Dines
In the search for our best selves, several questions will guide our thinking: Am I what I want to be? Am I closer to the Savior today than I was yesterday? Will I be closer yet tomorrow? Do I have the courage to change for the better? The years have come and the years have gone, but the need for a testimony of the gospel continues paramount. As we move toward the future, we must not neglect the lessons of the past. ~ Thomas S. Monson
Courage To Change quotes by Thomas S. Monson
God, grant me serenity to accept those things I can't change, the courage to change those I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
-Division St. ~ Studs Terkel
Courage To Change quotes by Studs Terkel
What I am very, very moved and struck by is that so many people in the world are often living a life that they hadn't planned for themselves. And they wake up one day and say, 'Hang on. Who am I? Is this really me? Is this what I really wanted?' And also, 'Can I change it? Have I got the courage to change it?' ~ Kate Winslet
Courage To Change quotes by Kate Winslet
Problems in Your Social Life

Social anxiety can make you feel empty and alone. You may feel as though you go through each day like a robot--simply doing only what you need to without drawing attention to yourself. You may feel trapped in an unfulfilling and unsatisfying life.
When you suffer from anxiety, it is difficult to have the courage to change your situation. However, trying to get through life without the support of others is tough. The longer you live without creating fulfilling relationships, the more difficult it will be to make them in the future. ~ Heather Moehn
Courage To Change quotes by Heather Moehn
Pause and remember - Change will happen the moment you have the courage to change. ~ Jennifer Young
Courage To Change quotes by Jennifer Young
There is nothing more courageous than change, it requires all you've got to give, that's why they say, "Courage to change. ~ Toni Sorenson
Courage To Change quotes by Toni Sorenson
We Americans write our own history. And the chapters of which we're proudest are the ones where we had the courage to change. Time and again, Americans have seen the need for change, and have taken the initiative to bring that change to life. ~ Al Gore
Courage To Change quotes by Al Gore
Most of the social and political ills from which you suffer are under your control, given only the will and courage to change them. You can live in another and a wiser fashion if you choose to think it out and work it out. You are not awake to your own power. ~ H.G.Wells
Courage To Change quotes by H.G.Wells
We need the compassion and the courage to change the conditions that support our suffering. Those conditions are things like ignorance, bitterness, negligence, clinging, and holding on. ~ Sharon Salzberg
Courage To Change quotes by Sharon Salzberg
Wisdom is finding the path that is best for all - considering the options, the positives and the negatives - and having the courage to change what must be changed for the sake of the entire world. ~ Laurence Overmire
Courage To Change quotes by Laurence Overmire
I was impressed, and also unnerved. Being around Nikolai was always like this, watching him shift and change, revealing secrets as he went. He reminded me of the wooden nesting dolls I'd played with as a child. Except instead of getting smaller, he just kept getting grander and more mysterious. Tomorrow, he'd probably tell me he'd built a pleasure palace on the moon. Tough to get to, but quite a view. ~ Leigh Bardugo
Courage To Change quotes by Leigh Bardugo
No matter what activity or practice we are pursuing, there isn't anything that isn't made easier through constant familiarity and training. Through training, we can change; we can transform ourselves. Within Buddhist practice there are various methods of trying to sustain a calm mind when some disturbing event happens. Through repeated practice of these methods we can get to the point where some disturbance may occur but the negative effects on our mind remain on the surface, like the waves that may ripple on the surface of an ocean but don't have much effect deep down. And, although my own experience may be very little, I have found this to be true in my own small practice. So, if I receive some tragic news, at that moment I may experience some disturbance within my mind, but it goes very quickly. Or, I may become irritated and develop some anger, but again, it dissipates very quickly. There is no effect on the deeper mind. No hatred. This was achieved through gradual practice; it didn't happen overnight.'

Certainly not. The Dalai Lama has been engaged in training his mind since he was four years old. ~ Dalai Lama XIV
Courage To Change quotes by Dalai Lama XIV
You are lovable as you are. Be kind to yourself. You are an original standing alone, yet a collective that is everyone. Everyone is okay, including you. No one need change, but if you seek modification, require it from no other. If you change, those around you will change, as they are reflections of yourself. One person transforming, changes the world, even if only a sliver. ~ Susan D. Kalior
Courage To Change quotes by Susan D. Kalior
The kingdoms of kings are confined, either by mountains or rivers, or by a change in customs or by a difference of language; but my kingdom is as great as the world, because I am neither Italian, nor French, nor Hindu, nor American, nor a Spaniard; I am a cosmopolitan. No country can claim to be my birthplace, God alone knows in which region I shall die. I adopt every custom, I speak every tongue [... ] In this way, you see, being of no country, asking for the protection of no goverment and acknowledging no man as my brother, I am not restrained or hampered by a single one of the scruples that tie the hands of the powerful or the obstacles that block the path of the weak. ~ Alexandre Dumas
Courage To Change quotes by Alexandre Dumas
It is only with the setting of the sun that one can judge how well the day had gone. Looking back through the vista of time, I can analyse and assess why I fought hard for my right to say no to joining the Baath Party, why I took that first step towards requesting respect for human rights. But it is important to stress this: Up against a task larger than oneself, one has to overcome one's fear. ~ Widad Akreyi
Courage To Change quotes by Widad Akreyi
In death, you once more challenge people from every strata, religion, and position to think about how their own actions do and can change the world for better or worse. ~ Ahmed Kathrada
Courage To Change quotes by Ahmed Kathrada
It will be great to play a short, fat sweaty loser for a change. ~ Ricky Gervais
Courage To Change quotes by Ricky Gervais
And now an hour, maybe, has passed. And they are both drunk: Kenny fairly, George very. But George is drunk in a good way, and one that he seldom achieves. He tries to describe to himself what this kind of drunkenness is like. Well - to put it very crudely - it's like Plato; it's a dialogue. A dialogue between two people. Yes, but not a Platonic dialogue in the hair-splitting, word-twisting, one-up-to-me sense; not a mock-humble bitching match; not a debate on some dreary set theme. You can talk about anything and change the subject as often as you like. In fact, what really matters is not what you talk about, but the being together in this particular relationship. ~ Christopher Isherwood
Courage To Change quotes by Christopher Isherwood
... that eternally restless, eternally unquenched desire for naked paganism, that love that is the supreme joy, that is divine serenity itself- those things are useless for you moderns, you children of reflection. That sort of love wreaks havoc on you. As soon as you wish to be natural you become normal. To you Nature seems hostile, you have turned us laughing Greek deities into demons and me into a devil. All you can do is exorcise me and curse me or else sacrifice yourselves, slaughter yourselves in bacchanalian madness at my alter. And if you ever has the courage to kiss my red lips, he then goes on a pilgrimage to Rome, barefoot and in a penitent's shirt, and expects flowers to blossom from his withered staff, while roses, violets, and myrtles sprout constantly under my feet- but their fragrance doesn't agree with you, So just stay in your northern fog and Christian incense. Let us pagans rest under the rubble, under lava. Do not dig us up. Pompeii, our villas, our baths, our temples were not built for you people! You need no gods! We freeze in your world! ~ Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch
Courage To Change quotes by Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch
Helping Others

When we live our lives in happy, compassionate and constructive ways we set an example for others, which they may or may not choose to follow. There is no need for convincing anyone to what we know as good for us. Our actions always speak louder than words, as beautiful as they may be. Be yourself riding the wave of change, and you will lighten up assisting many others to do the same if this is what they prefer. ~ Raphael Zernoff
Courage To Change quotes by Raphael Zernoff
The thing that gets me is, when I switched to doing an MBA at night while working at Bexley, he was unimpressed. Like he'd had any kind of opinion. Like I wasn't even noticed or acknowledged enough to disappoint. But I have, Over and over, my entire life. My career is a joke to him."

I'm surprised by how angry I'm getting. I think of Anthony, his face permanently twisted into a sarcastic expression,

"He's lost something special in you, Why is he like this?"

"I don't know. If I knew, maybe I could change it. He's just been that way with me, and most people. ~ Sally Thorne
Courage To Change quotes by Sally Thorne
I know that books I have written will still resonate in 50 years - particularly 'My Sister's Keeper.' It has sold three million copies in the States alone. I strongly feel that, as a novelist, you have a platform and the ability to change people's minds. ~ Jodi Picoult
Courage To Change quotes by Jodi Picoult
We play in the ocean every day but for some reason we don't make as much noise about the environment as we should. I believe the average surfer needs to do a lot more to become a greater catalyst for change ~ Mark Price
Courage To Change quotes by Mark Price
I hope to evoke emotion in others, help them escape for even just a little while into different worlds, different times and different thoughts. Whenever I'm able to lend my name to worthy causes and try and change this world for the better I feel like my work is a success. ~ James Preston Rogers
Courage To Change quotes by James Preston Rogers
to be more confidence you need to give a whole lot less of a shit about what other people think of you

Confidence is not something you feel or possess, it's something others use to describe what they see when they look at you

Forbid yourself to wonder what "they" are thinking

Confidence is a reduction of your own interest in whether others are thinking about you and if so what they're thinking

You are the only the person you actually are; you may not may not be the person they actually want

Because all of us are made not only of what we have but of what we lost.

And loss is not a subtraction. As an experience, it is an addition.

You do not need to work through your past so you can heal. You need to move forward and then you're as healed as you're likely to be

Pain can make you want to die. Discomfort can make you want to kill. Chronic discomfort itself can be deadly

Letting go of a dream because it cannot be yours is not failing.

If you have children and your spouse is abusing them physically, mentally, or sexually, leave now.
It never takes courage to leave.
It takes love.

..everything there is was born from a collision.
Inside every single thing that lives is a debt to a distant star that died.
Nothing new is ever created without one thing colliding into another ~ Augusten Burroughs
Courage To Change quotes by Augusten Burroughs
When a child speaks of a past life memory, the effects ripple far. At the center is the child, who is directly healed and changed. The parents standing close by are rocked by the truth of the experience - a truth powerful enough to dislodge deeply entrenched beliefs. For observers removed from the actual event - even those just reading about it - reports of a child's past life memory can jostle the soul toward new understanding. Children's past life memories have the power to change lives. ~ Carol Bowman
Courage To Change quotes by Carol Bowman
A world full of people hating themselves is not a happy world. Buddhism does not seem to be about self-punishment. A key buddhist symbol is that of the lotus flower. The lotus flower grows in mud at the bottom of a pool, but rises above the murky water and blooms in the clear air, pure and beautiful, before eventually dying. This metaphor for spiritual enlightenment also works as a metaphor for hope and change. ~ Matt Haig
Courage To Change quotes by Matt Haig
As with Isaiah's vision in the Temple, and many other scenes both biblical and modern, Peter's change from fisherman to shepherd comes through his facing of his own sin and his receiving of forgiveness, as Jesus with his three-times-repeated question goes back to Peter's triple denial and then offers him forgiveness precisely in the form of a transformed and newly commissioned life. Those who don't want to face that searching question and answer may remain content to help the world with its fishing. Those who find the risen Jesus going to the roots of their rebellion, denial, and sin and offering them love and forgiveness may well also find themselves sent off to be shepherds instead. Let those with ears listen. ~ N. T. Wright
Courage To Change quotes by N. T. Wright
The more that things change, the more we need to depend upon those things that never change. ~ Daniel Lapin
Courage To Change quotes by Daniel Lapin
She thought I had magic within me, magic that could change lives. She said that there were ways of bringing this magic to life. ~ Shradhdha. S
Courage To Change quotes by Shradhdha. S
Stanley:
Delicate piece she is.
Stella:
She is. She was. You didn't know Blanche as a girl. Nobody, nobody, was tender and trusting as she was. But people like you abused her, and forced her to change. ~ Tennessee Williams
Courage To Change quotes by Tennessee Williams
It's an old story; it's as old as our history. The difference between Democrats and Republicans has always been measured in courage and confidence. The Republicans believe that the wagon train will not make it to the frontier unless some of the old, some of the young, some of the weak, are left behind by the side of the trail. The strong, the strong they tell us, will inherit the land. We Democrats believe in something else. We Democrats believe that we can make it all the way with the whole family intact, and we have more than once. ~ Mario Cuomo
Courage To Change quotes by Mario Cuomo
We have to change every day to survive, but we fear change the most. ~ Debasish Mridha
Courage To Change quotes by Debasish Mridha
Never change yourself to fit in! ~ Avijeet Das
Courage To Change quotes by Avijeet Das
The environment is in us, not outside of us. The trees are our lungs, the rivers our bloodstream. We are all interconnected, and what you do to the environment ultimately you do to yourself. ~ Ian Somerhalder
Courage To Change quotes by Ian Somerhalder
Women in the Arab world have a rich history in their active participation in political change from the Algeria revolution against the French occupation to the most recent revolution in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya among other countries. The question is not their participation. Their question is the incorporation of women's voices fully in the new definitions of the countries where change has happened. ~ Zainab Salbi
Courage To Change quotes by Zainab Salbi
People think that you have to do something huge, like go to Africa and build a school, but you can make a small change in a day. If you change Wednesday, then you change Thursday. Pretty soon it's a week, then a month, then a year. It's bite-size, as opposed to feeling like you have to turn your life inside out to make changes. ~ Hoda Kotb
Courage To Change quotes by Hoda Kotb
What I really devoured ... was the truculence of my hosts' language: the syntax may have been brutally sloppy, but it was oh so warm in its juvenile authenticity. I feasted on their words, yes, the words flowing at that get-together of country brothers, the sort of words that, at times, delight one much more than the pleasures of the flesh. Words: repositories for singular realities which they transform into moments in an anthology, magicians that change the face of reality by adorning it with the right to become memorable, to be placed in a library of memories. Life exists only by virtue of the osmosis of words and facts, where the former encase the latter in ceremonial dress. ~ Muriel Barbery
Courage To Change quotes by Muriel Barbery
The life purpose of the true social entrepreneur is to change the world. ~ Bill Drayton
Courage To Change quotes by Bill Drayton
Watch out for these two kind of fears: the fear of God that gives courage and wisdom to overcome the fears in the world and to accomplish your God given mission distinctively, and the fear of the world that gives you excuses and hinders you from fulfilling your God given vision. No matter what, you shall give an account of your stewardship to God Almighty. There is no day like a day to do something in the day, for each day, you get closer to the journey's end! Feel the urgency to do something as long as you meet a new day! Have a true passion for living to accomplish your true mission! Step out each day like a wounded lion; noble, but not timid; meek, but not weak; courageous, but not proud; wise, but with understanding, and be determined to overcome all obstacles with an unstoppable mindset and wisdom, knowing that God is waiting for you at your journey's end to print the statement of how you took the journey to you. ~ Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
Courage To Change quotes by Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
Isn't the essential pillar of Catholicism papal infallibility? Well, then how can the church ever change its mind about anything unless God gets confused one day? Not all religions claim the direct authority of God speaking to their leader. You know, I'm an atheist, but I'm a Puritan atheist. ~ Dave Foley
Courage To Change quotes by Dave Foley
It takes a lot of courage to be a true slave, Jaime, ~ Claire Thompson
Courage To Change quotes by Claire Thompson
But there was a special kind of gift that came with embracing the chaos, even if I cursed most of the way. I'm convinced that, when everything is wiped blank, it's life 's way of forcing you to become acquainted with and aware of who you are now, who you can become. What is the fulfillment of your soul? ~ Jennifer DeLucy
Courage To Change quotes by Jennifer DeLucy
Search is the means through which we navigate the Web. If your business is not visible in search it is difficult for it to be found by your customers. Search, above all else, is marketing, and it is undergoing a massive change. ~ David Amerland
Courage To Change quotes by David Amerland
Today is going to be a good day, not because the events that occur will change, but because I will change the way I view this day. ~ Avina Celeste
Courage To Change quotes by Avina Celeste
I was so much in the habit of having Albertine with me, and now I suddenly saw a new aspect of Habit. Hitherto I had regarded it chiefly as an annihilating force which suppresses the originality and even the awareness of one's perceptions; now I saw it as a dread deity, so riveted to one's being, its insignificant face so incrusted in one's heart, that if it detaches itself, if it turns away from one, this deity that one had barely distinguished inflicts on one sufferings more terrible than any other and is then as cruel as death itself. ~ Marcel Proust
Courage To Change quotes by Marcel Proust
My whole love and respect is for the person who accepts himself totally, as he is. He has courage. He has courage to face the whole pressure of the society which is bent upon splitting him into divisions - into good and bad, into saint and sinner. He is really a brave, courageous being who stands against the whole history of man, of morality, and declares to the skies his reality, whatever it is. ~ Osho
Courage To Change quotes by Osho
Life has moments that feel as if the sun has blackened to tar and the entire world turned to ice. It feels as if Hades and his vile demons have risen from the depths of Tartarus solely for the purpose of banding to personally torture you, and that their genuine intent of mental, emotional, and spiritual anguish is tearing you to shreds. Your heart weighs as heavily as leaden legs which you would drag yourself forward with if not for the quicksand that pulls you down inch by inch, paralyzing your will and threatening oblivion. And all the while fire and brimstone pour from the sky, pelting only you.
Truly, that is what it feels like. But that feeling is a trial that won't last forever. Never give up. ~ Richelle E. Goodrich
Courage To Change quotes by Richelle E. Goodrich
There were moments, of course. Those small spaces in time, too soon gone, when everything seems to stand still, and existence is balanced on a perfect point, like the moment of change between the dark and the light, and when both and neither surround you. ~ Diana Gabaldon
Courage To Change quotes by Diana Gabaldon
Go back?" he thought. "No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!" So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter. ~ J.R.R. Tolkien
Courage To Change quotes by J.R.R. Tolkien
I don't think there will ever be a time when people will stop wanting to bring about change. ~ Yuri Kochiyama
Courage To Change quotes by Yuri Kochiyama
The world is changing," said Nikolai, the steel edge emerging in his voice. "We change with it, or there will be nothing to remember us but dust. ~ Leigh Bardugo
Courage To Change quotes by Leigh Bardugo
Is it not tragic, for example, that while in the last World War almost everyone believed it was the war to end all wars and wanted to make it so, now in this Second World War almost no writer that I have read dares even suggest that this is the war to end all wars, or act on that belief? We have lost the courage to hope. ~ Lin Yutang
Courage To Change quotes by Lin Yutang
It takes a Bigger Courage to take on Danger, where None can be Sighted. ~ Vineet Raj Kapoor
Courage To Change quotes by Vineet Raj Kapoor
I'm not too proud to change. I like to win too much. ~ Bobby Bowden
Courage To Change quotes by Bobby Bowden
I made the fearful decision to head to Sydney, Australia, to study the Bible. My calling, my wife, Laura, my church, my passion - all were behind the scariest door of all time. Since that day, this remains exactly true: Fear never leaves. But the way we handle it can always change. ~ Carl Lentz
Courage To Change quotes by Carl Lentz
What's important is not the uniform or the number, and it's not what team you play for or whether anyone else sees your value; it's who you are on the inside. And when you're in Christ, that's never going to change. ~ Tony Dungy
Courage To Change quotes by Tony Dungy
