The reality is, no matter what you were told, whatever happened to you as a child was not legally or morally your fault. Abused children are instilled with guilt regarding their "participation." It's an especially complex issue if the abuser is a family member. The child is told and believes that by his word his family will disintegrate, or harm may descend upon other loved ones. He fears he will lose more by telling than not. ~ Sarah E. Olson
Child Abuser quotes by Sarah E. Olson
A terrible sadness threatened to overwhelm me as I wondered how two people capable of such love for each other had eventually felt so little for the child they had produced between them. ~ Toni Maguire
Child Abuser quotes by Toni Maguire
Prosecutors often wince when they have to take a child abuser to trial, because usually the only witnesses they can use are children who are terrified at the prospect of testifying against their parents. ~ James Lee Burke
Child Abuser quotes by James Lee Burke
I was tempted to tell my father the truth, but perhaps it was better to let him go on believing that Vincent was depraved, a pervert of some kind, a child abuser. If Dad believed he'd invited a creature from myth and legend to cross his threshold, he'd have to rethink his entire concept of reality. I wasn't sure he was ready for that. ~ Mary Downing Hahn
Child Abuser quotes by Mary Downing Hahn
The little girl's dependency on her father made [his] abuse more insidious. ~ Joan Frances Casey
Child Abuser quotes by Joan Frances Casey
How hard someone [a child] is hit, and why they are hit, cannot merely be ignored when
speaking of hitting. Timing, part of context, is also of crucial importance. ~ Jordan B. Peterson
Child Abuser quotes by Jordan B. Peterson
There are different kinds of predators. There are the kinds who target the weak. And there are those with more of a Dexter vibe who don't lose sleep if a child abuser has a hard time on the way to the station. ~ Jonathan Maberry
Child Abuser quotes by Jonathan Maberry
As Redleaf sees it, the biggest problem is that individuals, the people who called the police on Debra Harrell, are trusting a system that is inherently biased (as most systems are in this country) against poor people and people of color.

"There's an assumption," Redleaf told me, "among the general public, that it's always better to make a call, even if you're not sure what you're seeing, because these people are professionals and if there was no real neglect, then the system will sort it out. Well, what we find is, they often get it wrong when they try to sort it out. The caseworkers at protection agencies aren't licensed social workers. They often have minimal training. Police certainly aren't experts on parenting or childcare. So basically we as a society have entrusted people who have no real training or serious knowledge about children and families with critical issues involving children. And they are making decisions about who gets to be a parent and who gets to raise their children and whether you'll be labeled a child-abuser and unable to work. ~ Kim Brooks
Child Abuser quotes by Kim Brooks
Go out, go out I beg of you And taste the beauty of the wild. Behold the miracle of the earth With all the wonder of a child. ~ Edna Jaques
Child Abuser quotes by Edna Jaques
What's been important in my understanding of myself and others is the fact that each one of us is so much more than any one thing. A sick child is much more than his or her sickness.
A person with a disability is much, much more than a handicap. A pediatrician is more than a medical doctor. You're MUCH more than your job description or your age or your income or your output. ~ Fred Rogers
Child Abuser quotes by Fred Rogers
I wished he would not always treat me as a child, rather spoilt, rather irresponsible, someone to be petted from time to time when the mood came upon him, but more often forgotten, more often patted on the shoulder and told to run away and play. I wished something would happen to make me look wiser, more mature.
Was it always going to be like this? He way ahead of me, with his own moods that I did not share, his secret troubles that I did not know? Would we never be together, he a man and I a woman, standing shoulder to shoulder, hand in hand with no gulf between us? I did not want to be a child. I wanted to be his wife, his mother. I wanted to be old. ~ Daphne Du Maurier
Child Abuser quotes by Daphne Du Maurier
The parent-child relationship in the home usually reflects the objective cultural conditions of the surrounding social structure. If the conditions which penetrate the home are authoritarian, rigid, and dominating, the home will increase the climate of oppression. As these authoritarian relations between parents and children intensify, children in their infancy increasingly internalize the paternal authority. ~ Paulo Freire
Child Abuser quotes by Paulo Freire
He was the child of a father who was not his father; but also the child of a time which damaged reality so badly that nobody ever managed to put it together again; ~ Salman Rushdie
Child Abuser quotes by Salman Rushdie
A child too, can never grasp the fact that the same mother who cooks so well, is so concerned about his cough, and helps so kindly with his homework, in some circumstance has no more feeling than a wall of his hidden inner world. ~ Alice Miller
Child Abuser quotes by Alice Miller
Being survivors signifies that we have recognized that we have been through a lot that should never have taken place and we now hope to let our wounds heal and recuperate. ~ Patricia Dsouza
Child Abuser quotes by Patricia Dsouza
If a child is inclined to be grasping, or to cling to any of his or her little possessions, legends are related about the contempt and disgrace falling upon the ungenerous and mean person ... ~ Charles Alexander Eastman
Child Abuser quotes by Charles Alexander Eastman
One day it just hit me. This is it. You are not in love. So either stay in it because you have a child or be brave and find the man of your dreams and marry him for real. ~ Brandy Norwood
Child Abuser quotes by Brandy Norwood
The evening sky is gold and vast.
I'm soothed by April's cool caress.
You're late. Too many years have passed, -
I'm glad to see you, nonetheless.

Come closer, sit here by my side,
Be gentle with me, treat me kind:
This old blue notebook – look inside –
I wrote these poems as a child.

Forgive me that I felt forsaken,
That grief and angst was all I knew.
Forgive me that I kept mistaking
Too many other men for you. ~ Anna Akhmatova
Child Abuser quotes by Anna Akhmatova
Tell me child, do you believe in magic?' - in O Vestido (The Dress), by Milene Emídio ~ Milene Emídio
Child Abuser quotes by Milene Emídio
The present was the thing
work to do and someone to love. But not to love too much, for he knew the injury that a father can do to a daughter or a mother to a son by attaching them too closely: afterward, out in the world, the child would seek in the marriage partner the same blind tenderness and, failing probably to find it, turn against love and life ~ F Scott Fitzgerald
Child Abuser quotes by F Scott Fitzgerald
You ought to see it when it blooms, all dark red flowers from horizon to horizon, like a see of blood. Come the dry season, and the world turns the color of old bronze. And this is only hranna, child. There are hundred kinds of grass out there, grasses as yellow as lemon and as dark as indigo, blue grasses and orange grasses and grasses as rainbows. ~ George R R Martin
Child Abuser quotes by George R R Martin
I was never one to begrudge people their memories. From a child I would listen when they spoke of the past. ~ Rachel Field
Child Abuser quotes by Rachel Field
As a child, I disliked books in which children learned to be 'better' children. ~ Beverly Cleary
Child Abuser quotes by Beverly Cleary
One of the biggest gifts you can give a child is confidence, because confidence will take you miles - more than talent, more than anything else. So yes, I want my children to have confidence and to be kind. ~ Rafe Spall
Child Abuser quotes by Rafe Spall
I feel that America is like a child that grew up so strong and so fast and so tall that it became self-conscious about its size and started to stoop over so as not to offend anyone. ~ Sylvester Stallone
Child Abuser quotes by Sylvester Stallone
If you beget a monster of a child it could prove you were rather monstrous yourself. ~ Nick Joaquin
Child Abuser quotes by Nick Joaquin
He struck his own fire, listened to the night wind roar through the trees. Sometimes, when he could see it, he stared at the Conriyan encampment and counted fires like an idiot child. „Always number your foemen," his father had once told him, „by the glitter of their fires." Sometimes he gazed at the stars and wondered if they too were his enemies. ~ R. Scott Bakker
Child Abuser quotes by R. Scott Bakker
you shall learn, if you haven't already, that in life insubordination is not only necessary but even, at times, exhilarating. ~ Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child
Child Abuser quotes by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child
I must admit I found forgiveness a hard pill to swallow. I never really liked people telling me to forgive my abuser. I finally get it, forgiveness removes the negative energy this unforgiveness brings. Forgiveness shoes unconditional love for ourselves. ~ Tracy A Malone
Child Abuser quotes by Tracy A Malone
Now, here's the real beauty of this contorting contradiction. Both working mothers and stay-at-home mothers get to be failures. The ethos of intensive mothering has lower status in our culture ("stay-at-home mothers are boring"), but occupies a higher moral ground ("working mothers are neglectful"). So, welcome to the latest media catfight: the supposed war between working mothers and stay-at-home mothers. Why analyze all the ways in which our country has failed to support families while inflating the work ethic to the size of the Hindenburg when you can, instead, project this paradox onto what the media have come to call, incessantly, "the mommy wars." The "mommy wars" puts mothers into two, mutually exclusive categories--working mother versus stay-at-home mother, and never the twain shall meet. It goes without saying that they allegedly hate each other's guts. In real life, millions of mothers move between these two categories, have been one and then the other at various different times, creating a mosaic of work and child-rearing practices that bears no resemblance to the supposed ironclad roles suggested by the "mommy wars." Not only does the media catfight pit mother against mother, but it suggests that all women be reduced to their one role--mother--or get cut out of the picture entirely. ~ Susan J. Douglas
Child Abuser quotes by Susan J. Douglas
Little eyes watch what we do far more than little ears hear what we say. It is how we live, not how we demand they live, that has the most impact on who our children will become. ~ L.R. Knost
Child Abuser quotes by L.R. Knost
Soon never comes soon enough to a young child. ~ Jacqueline Carey
Child Abuser quotes by Jacqueline Carey
It is still just unbelievable to us that diarrhea is one of the leading causes of child deaths in the world. ~ Melinda Gates
Child Abuser quotes by Melinda Gates
He had the hypocrisy to represent a mourner: and previous to following with Hareton, he lifted the unfortunate child on to the table and muttered, with peculiar gusto, 'Now, my bonny lad, you are mine! And we'll see if one tree won't grow as crooked as another, with the same wind to twist it! ~ Emily Bronte
Child Abuser quotes by Emily Bronte
-ask you to keep an eye on her, keep her safe, and you allow my child to be used in that!"
"Flatten your fur, Weiryn," replied the badger. "What makes you think I had a choice?"
"The Great Ones can find another instrument! Why didn't you tell them so?"
"I did tell them, you horn-headed idiot. They didn't listen. She didn't listen. If you have a complaint, you take it up with the Graveyard Hag. ~ Tamora Pierce
Child Abuser quotes by Tamora Pierce
Always make your familial environment a safe and inviting place. ~ Asa Don Brown
Child Abuser quotes by Asa Don Brown
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,
You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?"
The Lord replied, "The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you. ~ Mary Stevenson
Child Abuser quotes by Mary Stevenson
No parent/home/child/teacher/school has an all-round 100 percent wholeness. We all have limitations and problems. But I must never think it is all or nothing.
Perhaps I'd like to live in the country, but I don't. Well, maybe I can get the family to a park two times a week, and out to the country once every two weeks.
Maybe I have to send my child to a not-so-good school. Well, maybe we can read one or two good books together aloud. If you can't give them everything, give them something. ~ Susan Schaeffer Macaulay
Child Abuser quotes by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay
She was one of those stoical, practical women of our country, the kind of woman who has a child with every man who passes through her life and, on top of that, takes in other people's abandoned children, her own poor relatives, and anybody else who needs a mother, a sister, or an aunt; the kind of woman who's the pillar of many other lives, who raises her children to grow up and leave her and lets her men leave too, without a word of reproach, because she has more pressing things to worry about. ~ Isabel Allende
Child Abuser quotes by Isabel Allende
The harassed look is that of a desperately tired swimmer or runner; yet there is no question of stopping. The creature we are watching will struggle on and on until it drops. Not because it is heroic. It can imagine no alternative.
Staring and staring into the mirror, it sees many faces within its face - the face of the child, the boy, the young man, the not-so-young-man - all present still, preserved as fossils, dead. Their message to this live dying creature is: Look at us - we have died -what is there to be afraid of?
It answers them: But it happened so gradually, so easily. I am afraid of being rushed. ~ Christopher Isherwood
Child Abuser quotes by Christopher Isherwood
One of the bravest thing a child can do is dream, and
believe it is truly possible.
Brittney Ryan ~ Brittney Ryan
Child Abuser quotes by Brittney Ryan
A lot of things that we cannot buy and sell in markets used to be totally legal objects of market exchange - human beings when we had slavery, child labour, human organs, and so on. So there is no economic theory that actually says that you shouldn't have slavery or child labour because all these are political, ethical judgments. ~ Ha-Joon Chang
Child Abuser quotes by Ha-Joon Chang
After we'd moved into 81, we had placed an order for a phone, and waited. First a man came by to see if we lived where we said we did. Then two men visited to make a "study" of our situation. Then another man appeared to find out if we really wanted a phone. The process was very French, and made me laugh, especially when I thought of how quickly such a transaction would have taken place in the States. ~ Julia Child
Child Abuser quotes by Julia Child
I do not believe, then, that marriage was invented to oppress women any more than it was invented to protect them. In most cases, marriage probably originated as an informal way of organizing sexual companionship, child rearing, and the daily tasks of life. ~ Stephanie Coontz
Child Abuser quotes by Stephanie Coontz
The thing is, my fantasies about being a parent always involved fighting for my unpopular child, doing for her what my own parents couldn't do for me when I was a girl. I am so ready to be that little girl's mother. ~ Ayelet Waldman
Child Abuser quotes by Ayelet Waldman
To be a good cook you have to have a love of the good, a love of hard work, and a love of creating. ~ Julia Child
Child Abuser quotes by Julia Child
I have a children's theater background, so I grew up performing for child audiences; it's sort of my specialty. I know the child audience pretty well - or felt like I did because I performed for them so much. I studied a lot about the child audience, about theater. So it was naturally a place that I gravitated to. ~ Linda Woolverton
Child Abuser quotes by Linda Woolverton
In many ways I'm similar to Barack Obama, who also has a strange name but was raised by a white American mother. His background is far more complicated than his name would suggest. Furthermore, the fact that I was a child during the hostage crisis has caused me to equate being Iranian with being alienated. ~ Said Sayrafiezadeh
Child Abuser quotes by Said Sayrafiezadeh
When I was a child, I used to cry all the time. ~ Gwen John
Child Abuser quotes by Gwen John
Parents have a child, and in doing so they bring into the world a monster that kills everything it comes in contact with. ~ Thomas Bernhard
Child Abuser quotes by Thomas Bernhard
The oceans have been a part of my life for as long as I remember. As a child, I spent hours playing in the surf off Cape Cod. In college, I fished along the rocky coast of Nova Scotia with my school's fishing team. ~ Frances Beinecke
