Dana trembled in his arms. "What's wrong?" "Company." Jon hesitated. After what she'd survived in the past weeks, would his touch be distasteful to her? He hoped not since he'd dreamed for months of holding her in his arms. He swallowed hard. "We need to move fast. I'll have to carry you, baby." Instead of the hesitation or protest he expected, Dana wrapped her arms around his neck. His heart squeezed. No time to check her for injuries. Praying he didn't hurt this brave woman, he lifted her from the bed. ~ Rebecca Deel
Wrong Company quotes by Rebecca Deel
When I started at Puma, you had a restaurant that was a Puma restaurant, an Adidas restaurant, a bakery. The town was literally divided. If you were working for the wrong company, you wouldn't be served any food; you couldn't buy anything. So it was kind of an odd experience. ~ Jochen Zeitz
Wrong Company quotes by Jochen Zeitz

Wrong Company quotes by Christina Baker Kline
Apparently people don't like the truth, but I do like it; I like it because it upsets a lot of people. If you show them enough times that their arguments are bullshit, then maybe just once, one of them will say, 'Oh! Wait a minute - I was wrong.' I live for that happening. Rare, I assure you ~ Lemmy Kilmister
Wrong Company quotes by Lemmy Kilmister
By the time she a year old Mae Mobley following me around everwhere I go ... .Miss Leefolt, she'd narrow up her eyes at me like I done something wrong, unhitch that crying baby off my foot. I reckon that's the risk you run, letting somebody else raise you chilluns ~ Kathryn Stockett
Wrong Company quotes by Kathryn Stockett
How wrong we are to ignore our hearts to follow the familiar path. ~ Nikki Rowe
Wrong Company quotes by Nikki Rowe
This book is dedicated to the people of America
strong, outspoken, intense in their convictions, sometimes wrong-headed but always generous and brave, with a passion for justice no nation has ever matched. ~ Paul Johnson
Wrong Company quotes by Paul Johnson
On the approach of spring, I withdraw without reluctance from the noisy and extensive scene of crowds without company, and dissipation without pleasure. ~ Edward Gibbon
Wrong Company quotes by Edward Gibbon
In all life one should comfort the afflicted, but verily, also, one should afflict the comfortable, and especially when they are comfortably, contentedly, even happily wrong. ~ John Kenneth Galbraith

Or else, get drunk. America knows no other devices to enable its inhabitants to endure either their own company or that of their fellow-creatures. ~ Aleister Crowley
Wrong Company quotes by Aleister Crowley

Wrong Company quotes by Randall Terry
The first rule in keeping secrets is nothing on paper: paper can be lost or stolen or simply inherited by the wrong people; if you really want to keep something secret, don't write it down. ~ Thomas Powers
Wrong Company quotes by Thomas Powers
Surely these victims of the sea ... had rushed willingly down the hills to the water, only to find themselves caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Who should judge whether they were there for the wrong reason? ~ John Rousmaniere
Wrong Company quotes by John Rousmaniere
Be patient, you are in good company. Our Lord Himself, our Lady, the apostles, and countless saints, both men and women, have been poor. ~ Francis De Sales
Wrong Company quotes by Francis De Sales
A ghetto has tall buildings and empty lots, trash all over the street and city noise. Here the houses are two stories; the houses have trees in front and everyone has a yard. I always told Tracy she was wrong, but now I think Tracy was right. The ghetto looks different in different places, but if you live there, it makes you feel the same. ~ Heidi W. Durrow
Wrong Company quotes by Heidi W. Durrow
Again we have the problem that whether you're moral or not is a matter of whether it's cost-effective. ~ Rebecca McNutt
Wrong Company quotes by Rebecca McNutt
She kept her looks very well and continued, in a rather severe way, to pay attention to her dress. There were moments now when her laugh sounded a little hollow and brittle, the laughter of nerves not of mirth or good spirits. Occasionally in a conversation she seemed to lose track and fall into a self-absorption, to start up overwhelmed by embarrassment and unspoken remorse ... She was pushing thirty-five. But she could still be good company. ~ Robert Penn Warren
Wrong Company quotes by Robert Penn Warren
Nowadays people don't know how to handle it if all the ends aren't tied up and they're not told what to think in films. And if they're challenged, they think it's something wrong with the film. ~ Alan Cumming
Wrong Company quotes by Alan Cumming
Jay-Z ain't a manager; he owns a management company. He been through this; he been through the game for a long time, so he knows tactics in taking artists in certain directions we need to go in. ~ Meek Mill
Wrong Company quotes by Meek Mill
I would say what scares me is that I'm going to ultimately find out at the end of my life that I'm really not lovable, that I'm not worthy of being loved. That there's something fundamentally wrong with me. ~ Demi Moore
Wrong Company quotes by Demi Moore
You will always have to live with yourself, and it is to your best interest to see that you have good company - a clean, pure, straight, honest, upright, generous, magnanimous companion. ~ Orison Swett Marden
Wrong Company quotes by Orison Swett Marden
The thing about startups is you can make it, and if it's wrong you can remake it, and you can build a team that you want to have, a product that you want to have. You're utterly focused on your users or your customers and their needs, and trying to figure out how to meet those needs. ~ John Katzman
Wrong Company quotes by John Katzman
Romeo caught me around the elbow and gently pulled me around. "What's wrong?"
"You used to be just like him," I blurted out. Then slammed my lips together, cursing myself for not thinking before I spoke.
Romeo's brows drew together. "Braeden?"
I nodded. "You liked to have fun. You hit on a different girl every day..." I paused and took a deep breath. "Pretty girls."
Something very close to anger lit up his eyes and burned there like the hottest part of a flame. Before I could backpedal, his large hands slid beneath my arms and hooked beneath my shoulders. Romeo lifted me off the ground like it was easy, like it didn't even take effort. My feet dangled in the air as he drew me up so we were eye to eye.
"A thousand of those girls"- he made a slight motion with his head toward Braeden- "couldn't even make up one of you."
"Romeo," I whispered, caught up in the molten blue flame flickering in his gaze.
"You know I was like that once. I've never made a secret of it. But you're it for me now, Rim. There's no one else. There never could be."

- Romeo & Rimmel ~ Cambria Hebert
Wrong Company quotes by Cambria Hebert

Wrong Company quotes by Richard Dreyfuss

Wrong Company quotes by Conrad Black
Ladies sheltering behind men, men sheltering behind servants - the whole system's wrong, and she must challenge it. ~ E. M. Forster
Wrong Company quotes by E. M. Forster

Wrong Company quotes by John Jeremiah Sullivan
The strong and the weak cannot keep company. ~ Aesop
Wrong Company quotes by Aesop
Hamlet misspoke, Strawl decided. It is consciousness that makes cowards of us all, not conscience. Right and wrong are venomless when compared to the simple awareness of being alive. The knowledge that existence can equal something past the sum of our circulation and digestion, that those corporeal purposes serve a galaxy of space between a man's ears, whose suns and planets obey his own peculiar science, but one in which he alone recognizes the order, and only in glimpses, epiphanies that melt before he can speak or even think them--and the knowledge even this distant self is not his possession but belongs to others weighing and judging the dim and distant light he emits. ~ Bruce Holbert
Wrong Company quotes by Bruce Holbert
Many religious fundamentalists around the world would like to see the establishment of theocracies - states where religion and government are closely intertwined. While some just reject separation of [name of place of worship] and state, others go further and insist that one religion's tenets be made law.

The normal arguments for a theocracy are that, for example, it would lend a greater sense of morality to the making and enforcement of laws. Or that as our laws were originally derived from some moral commandments in a particular religion, it makes sense to enthrone this religion as chief in the state.

Basically, theocrats can talk until the cows come home about how great it would be if we were ruled by God, how great it would be if our laws followed God's laws, and so forth. But this vision of theocracy will never come to be, and should never come to be.

The fundamental problem with every theocracy is that is innately unfair. Not just unfair to those who do not follow the state religion, but also unfair to those who do not follow the state religion as it is understood and interpreted by the humans who run the state.

After all, who really believes that all the Muslims in any of the Islamic theocracies we have today are happy? Those who believe the wrong things about Islam from one particular point of view are mercilessly vilified - the present civil war in Iraq is an excellent example.

Why a theocracy would be unfair ~ John Lee
Wrong Company quotes by John Lee
In a free society, individuals have the right to do right or wrong, as long as they don't threaten or infringe upon the rights or property of others. ~ Mark Skousen
Wrong Company quotes by Mark Skousen
A good roast of sun, it slows you, lets you relax–and out here if there's anything wrong, you can see it coming with bags of time to do what's next. This is the place and the weather for peace, for the cultivation of a friendly mind. ~ A.L. Kennedy
Wrong Company quotes by A.L. Kennedy
I was, however, still very much an emotional wreck and sometimes this resulted in misdirected anger. Unfortunately, my sisters bore the brunt of that. Sometimes I would just blow up without reason or warning. Once, my sister Sara was in the room and she was just moving things around, trying to clean up, and I blew up at her. She was so stunned and upset, she just walked out of the room and into the hallway to cry. Another soldier in a wheelchair came by and asked if she was okay. Through sobs and tears she choked out a "yeah."
"Did your soldier yell at you?" he asked. She nodded yes and he said, "I don't know why we do that. But don't take it personally. We're all going through it."
She calmed down and walked back in. She stood squarely in front of my bed and told me that I really pissed her off. Clearly I'd already forgotten I yelled at her because I looked at her with a bewildered expression and managed to push out through my wired jaw, "What's wrong with you?"
She glared at me and spat back, "You son of a bitch, you're what's wrong!" I was clueless. In fact, I pissed off my family members on a pretty regular basis until they figured out how to deal with it. They'd just control when I got to talk. My jaw was wired shut, but I could talk a little bit with some help.
I'd had a tracheotomy so I had a hole in my throat. I had this little purple plastic piece that I could put in the hole that would keep the air from coming out so I could talk. Every time I wo ~ Noah Galloway
Wrong Company quotes by Noah Galloway
Me, I'm a bloody tissue sample dried on a bare mattress in my room at the Paper Street Soap Company. ~ Chuck Palahniuk
Wrong Company quotes by Chuck Palahniuk
Collective judgment of new ideas is so often wrong that it is arguable that progress depends on individuals being free to back their own judgment despite collective disapproval. ~ W. Arthur Lewis
Wrong Company quotes by W. Arthur Lewis
What's wrong with asking questions?" "Nothing." Everything. Once the questions snuck in, whatever had been certain became uncertain. Questions opened the way for doubt. His father had told him that. "Don't let them ask questions. You're already giving them the answers, even if they don't know it." "But you're curious, too," she said. "Why do you say that?" "You guard the light. And light sees everything. ~ Jeff VanderMeer

Metal has always been somewhat marginalized, and I love to prove the perception and stereotypes that go with it wrong. ~ Eddie Trunk
Wrong Company quotes by Eddie Trunk
The universe would appear to be something like a piece of cheese; it can be sliced in an infinite number of ways- and when one has chosen his own pattern of slicing, he finds that other men's cuts fall at the wrong places. ~ Kenneth Burke
Wrong Company quotes by Kenneth Burke
BLISS

Let bliss succeed and sorrow fail. Bliss arises from wisdom, while sorrow exists due to wrong beliefs. ~ Sirshree
Wrong Company quotes by Sirshree
Listen to me, Amin," I said slowly. "Listen to me very carefully. Nothing is the same. Nothing will ever be the same again. There lives on this earth a woman who can be my friend and my lover. Do you understand that? Do you understand what a marvelous thing that is?"
"A friend is a friend," Uthman interrupted, "and a woman is a woman. You can't have them in one person. The whole world knows that."
"If that's what the whole world knows, ... then the whole world is wrong. I believed the whole world, and I lost her. ~ Barbara Cohen
Wrong Company quotes by Barbara Cohen
There can be no compromise between wrong and right. Germany is wrong and the Allies are right. The devastations of Belgium and the atrocities of the invading horde of barbarians are an outrage to civilized mankind. ~ John P. Marquand
Wrong Company quotes by John P. Marquand
And after you register your own company, you must find a white man. Find one of your white friends in England. Tell everybody he is your General Manager. You will see how doors will open for you because you have an oyinbo General Manager. Even Chief has some white men that he brings in for show when he needs them. That is how Nigeria works. I'm telling you. ~ Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Wrong Company quotes by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
