The Rogue Film School is not for the faint-hearted. It is for those who have travelled on foot, who have worked as bouncers in sex clubs or as wardens in a lunatic asylum, for those who are willing to learn about lock picking or forging shooting permits in countries not favoring their projects. In short: for those who have a sense of poetry. For those who are pilgrims. For those who can tell a story to four year old children and hold their attention. For those who have a fire burning within. For those who have a dream. ~ Werner Herzog
Willing To Learn quotes by Werner Herzog
A rationalist is simply someone for whom it is more important to learn than to be proved right; someone who is willing to learn from others - not by simply taking over another's opinions, but by gladly allowing others to criticize his ideas and by gladly criticizing the ideas of others ~ Karl Popper
Willing To Learn quotes by Karl Popper
Todd, I can only love you because of my heart. It's my broken heart that lets me love you. It's my broken heart that makes me want to live the best life I can. I only want to live that life with you, only you. If you're willing to teach me I'm ready and willing to learn. ~ Sheila Bliss
Willing To Learn quotes by Sheila Bliss
I came to believe that a leader isn't good because they're right; they're good because they're willing to learn and to trust. ~ Stanley A. McChrystal
Willing To Learn quotes by Stanley A. McChrystal
There is no shame in not knowing something. The shame is in not being willing to learn. ~ Alison Croggon
Willing To Learn quotes by Alison Croggon
Maybe it doesn't matter how smart you are or aren't, but how much you are willing to learn. ~ Geetanjali Mukherjee
Willing To Learn quotes by Geetanjali Mukherjee
When starting at the bottom, be willing to learn from those at the top. ~ Donald Rumsfeld
Willing To Learn quotes by Donald Rumsfeld
The hundred-point man is one who is true to every trust; who keeps his word; who is loyal to the firm that employs him; who does not listen for insults nor look for slights; who carries a civil tongue in his head; who is polite to strangers without being fresh; who is considerate toward servants; who is moderate in his eating and drinking; who is willing to learn; who is cautious and yet courageous. ~ Elbert Hubbard
Willing To Learn quotes by Elbert Hubbard
The intelligent man is one who has successfully fulfilled many accomplishments, and is yet willing to learn more. ~ Ed Parker
Willing To Learn quotes by Ed Parker
Many people are willing to learn techniques that help them live their lives. But the person who seeks to confirm their life at its roots by reaching beyond technique to the fundamentals - to true religion - is exceedingly rare. I find this state of affairs most regrettable. That is why I can't help but urge you to refrain from evaluating your daily life on the basis of what you think you know, on the basis of collected data. ~ Soko Morinaga
Willing To Learn quotes by Soko Morinaga
Digitas is a company that's very rapidly changing - the digital world changes every day. It's important we hire people who are curious about what's going on and who are willing to learn and want to learn. I look for core leadership traits. ~ Laura Lang
Willing To Learn quotes by Laura Lang
There is a lesson there about greed and it is a lesson I am willing to learn as well. Has it made me a distrustful person? I don't think so. But we probably look a bit more carefully at our financial situation now. ~ Kevin Bacon
Willing To Learn quotes by Kevin Bacon
Something interesting happens when we approach situations from a perspective of humility - it opens us up to possibilities as we choose open-mindedness and curiosity over protecting our point of view. We spend more time in that wonderful space of the 'beginner's mind,' willing to learn from what others have to offer. This translates into moving away from pushing to allowing, from insecure to secure, from seeking approval to seeking enlightenment. ~ Bruna Martinuzzi
Willing To Learn quotes by Bruna Martinuzzi
Asiatic youths are flocking to Western colleges for the equipment of modern education. Our insight does not penetrate your culture deeply, but at least we are willing to learn. Some of my compatriots have adopted too much of your customs and too much of your etiquette, in the delusion that the acquisition of stiff collars and tall silk hats comprised the attainment of your civilisation. Pathetic and deplorable as such affectations are, they evince our willingness to approach the West on our knees. ~ Okakura Kakuzo
Willing To Learn quotes by Okakura Kakuzo
Three Secrets to Success: Be willing to learn new things. Be able to assimilate new information quickly. Be able to get along with and work with other people. ~ Sally Ride
Willing To Learn quotes by Sally Ride
The road of life can be tough at times. when the road gets bumpy and rough you must buckle up and go for the ride.
Every road in life is a teacher if you are willing to learn from it. In order to grow and prosper you must take the ride, just buckle up put on your sunglasses and enjoy the ride. ~ Charles E Hudson
Willing To Learn quotes by Charles E Hudson
That stormy day in the desert, however, much changed for me. We must have our goals, our dreams and we must strive for them. We are not gods, however; we do not have the power to shape every aspect of the future. And the road the world makes for us is one that teaches humility if we are willing to learn. ~ Dean Koontz
Willing To Learn quotes by Dean Koontz
Many of the traditional approaches to interfaith dialogue have assumed that it can be successful only if agreements are reached about amorphous concepts and themes that various traditions may have in common. These approaches have also assumed that participants have to "weaken" or "compromise" elements of their own faith ... this is not necessarily constructive for engaging in interfaith understanding and dialogue. It is only when participants have a deep understanding of their own religious traditions and are willing to learn and recognize the richness of other religious traditions that constructive cooperation can take place between groups from different faiths. (by Cilliers, Ch. 3, p. 57-58) ~ David R. Smock
Willing To Learn quotes by David R. Smock
Own your errors but never be consumed by them. If you are willing to learn they provide great opportunities for how not to do it a second time around. ~ Lennox D.Lampkin
Willing To Learn quotes by Lennox D.Lampkin
Human evolution is essentially the progression of information gathering (knowledge) and consciousness, or the advancement in wisdom. A wise person is willing to learn at all stages of life by using their cognitive abilities open-mindedly to examine contradictory beliefs, and rationally meld various schools of thought into a living philosophy, developing over time a logical and systematic method to maintain and evaluate oneself in order to assist a person not merely survive but thrive. ~ Kilroy J. Oldster
Willing To Learn quotes by Kilroy J. Oldster
Achievers are not scared to make mistakes or to fail because they are willing to learn from them. They are determined to start all over again and again until they grasp the concept. ~ Euginia Herlihy
Willing To Learn quotes by Euginia Herlihy
Everyone is perfectly willing to learn from unpleasant experience - if only the damage of the first lesson could be repaired. ~ Georg C. Lichtenberg
Willing To Learn quotes by Georg C. Lichtenberg
Problems, weaknesses, setbacks, regrets and mistakes teach you if you're willing to learn, or they punish you if you're not. ~ Ralph Marston
Willing To Learn quotes by Ralph Marston
Hello Year 2017
I welcome you with open heart. Once again I'm ready to take another step towards my dreams, I'm willing to learn and I'm willing to make an effort to achieve my set goals in Jesus name. ~ Euginia Herlihy
Willing To Learn quotes by Euginia Herlihy
There is no shame in ignorance and failing; there is only shame in not being willing to learn and repeating the same errors over again. ~ John Kramer
Willing To Learn quotes by John Kramer
Those who take up any subject with an open mind, willing to learn anything that will contribute to their advancement, comfort and happiness, are wise. ~ Roger McDonald
Willing To Learn quotes by Roger McDonald
BE A STUDENT BY STAYING OPEN AND WILLING TO LEARN FROM EVERYONE AND ANYONE. ~ Wayne Dyer
Willing To Learn quotes by Wayne Dyer
To truly be a medicine cat lies in a cat's heart, and all its five senses. You must be braver than warriors, wiser than a clan leader, humbler than the tiniest kit, more willing to learn than an apprentice ... ~ Erin Hunter
Willing To Learn quotes by Erin Hunter
Listen to people; nothing is accomplished if you dismiss other viewpoints. And of most importance: be confident. Have confidence in yourself. Have confidence in your resume - in your skills and in your qualifications. Be willing to learn. ~ John-Talmage Mathis
Willing To Learn quotes by John-Talmage Mathis
Perhaps..." Resuming his rake's persona, investing every movement with languid grace, he shifted forward, closer. Held her gaze. "You could teach me what it is you need." He let his gaze drift from her eyes to her lips. "I've always been considered a fast learner, and if I'm willing to learn, to devote myself to the study of what you truly want..."
Her lips parted slightly. He raised his gaze once more to her eyes, to the stormy blue. Read her interest, knew he had her undivided attention.
Inwardly smiled. "If I swear I'll do all I can to meet your requirements, shouldn't you accept the...challenge, if you like, to take me as I am and reshape me to your need?"
Holding her gaze, resisting the urge to lower his to her tempting lips, he raised a hand, touched the backs of his fingers to her cheek in a tantalizingly light caress. "You could, if you wished, take on the challenge of taming the ton's foremost rake, of making me your devoted slave...but you'd have to work at it, make the effort and take the time to educate me-arrogantly oblivious male that I am-all of which will be much easier, facilitated as it were, by us marrying. After all, nothing worthwhile is ever attained easily or quickly. If I'm willing to give you free rein to mold me to your liking, shouldn't you be willing to engage?"
She was thinking, considering he could see it in her eyes. She was following his arguments, her mind following the path he wanted it to take.
Shifting his fingers t ~ Stephanie Laurens
Willing To Learn quotes by Stephanie Laurens
Until you are willing to learn the lessons, pay attention to details, and become patient with yourself, you will keep repeating the same patterns over and over again. ~ Kemi Sogunle
Willing To Learn quotes by Kemi Sogunle
If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you. ~ Zig Ziglar
Willing To Learn quotes by Zig Ziglar
I am willing to learn how to take good care of my body. ~ Louise Hay
Willing To Learn quotes by Louise Hay
A person whom is unhappy with life realizes that their construction of a self-image is incompatible with their earthly reality. An unhappy person must alter their internal or external world; otherwise, their sadness, sorrow, grief, and misery will remain unabated. Misery and desperation can lead to change, but only if a person is willing to learn, explore, and try. ~ Kilroy J. Oldster
Willing To Learn quotes by Kilroy J. Oldster
Fail is a verb not a noun, most people think that when they fail, they become a noun and call themselves failures. People have to learn from their mistakes just as children learn to ride bicycles by falling off bicycles. Mistakes can be priceless if we are willing to learn from them because the price to becoming rich is the willingness to make mistakes and learn from them without blaming or justifying ~ Robert Kiyosaki
Willing To Learn quotes by Robert Kiyosaki
Skating everywhere is unpredictable, no amount of money or facilities is going to create a skating star. You have to have a skater who is dedicated, passionate, and willing to learn. ~ Robin Cousins
Willing To Learn quotes by Robin Cousins
Dialogue is a non-confrontational communication, where both partners are willing to learn from the other and therefore leads much farther into finding new grounds together ~ Scilla Elworthy
Willing To Learn quotes by Scilla Elworthy
I have worked in the homes of many successful people and have seen firsthand that everyone fails in life, but failure can be a gift if you don't give up and are willing to learn, improve, and grow because of it. You see, failure often serves as a defining moment, a crossroads on the journey of your life. It gives you a test designed to measure your courage, perseverance, commitment, and a dedication. Are you a pretender who gives up after a little adversity or a contender who keeps getting up after getting knocked down? ~ Jon Gordon
Willing To Learn quotes by Jon Gordon
Despite a few exceptions, I have found that Americans are now far more willing to learn new names, just as they're far more willing to try new ethnic foods ... It's like adding a few new spices to the kitchen pantry. ~ Firoozeh Dumas
Willing To Learn quotes by Firoozeh Dumas
This is the most important lesson you must learn about magic," Miss Ochiba went on. "There are many ways of seeing. Each has an element of truth, but none is the whole truth. If you limit yourselves to one way of seeing, one truth, you will limit your power. You will also place limits on the kinds of spells you can cast, as well as their strength. To be a good magician, you must see in many ways. You must be flexible. You must be willing to learn from different sources. And you must always remember that the truths you see are incomplete. ~ Patricia C. Wrede
Willing To Learn quotes by Patricia C. Wrede
If, on the other hand, conservationists are willing to insist on having the best food, produced in the best way, as close to their homes as possible, and if they are willing to learn to judge the quality of food and food production, then they are going to give economic support to an entirely different kind of land use in an entirely different landscape. This landscape will have a higher ratio of caretakers to acres, of care to use. It will be at once more domestic and more wild than the industrial landscape. ~ Wendell Berry
Willing To Learn quotes by Wendell Berry
Experience burned into me the conviction that access to education ought to be based on how much you are willing to learn and how hard you are willing to work, not on how many dollars your family has in their bank account. ~ Dave Obey
Willing To Learn quotes by Dave Obey
We are not what we know but what we are willing to learn. ~ Mary Catherine Bateson
Willing To Learn quotes by Mary Catherine Bateson
Some people feel that humans have a right to eat other animals but not to trash the earth. They may choose veganism because a vegan's ecological footprint is light, but once they are not invested in eating animals, they are more likely to be willing to learn the details of what happens to them. That learning will encourage compassionate people to stick with a plant-based diet. ~ Karen Dawn
Willing To Learn quotes by Karen Dawn
He touched my cheek softly, his eyes intense as they gazed into mine."You might have to teach me a little about the human world, but I'm willing to learn if it means being close to you." He smiled again, a wry quirk of his lips. "I'm sure I can adapt to 'being human' if I must. If you want me to attend classes as a student, I can do that. If you want to move to a large city to pursue your dreams, I will follow. And if, someday, you wish to be married in a white gown and make this official in human eyes I'm willing to do that, too." He leaned in, close enough for me to see my reflection in his silver gaze." For better or worse, I'm afraid you're stuck with me now. ~ Julie Kagawa
Willing To Learn quotes by Julie Kagawa
To be successful one must be willing to learn and apply new concepts and not be afraid of change. ~ Craig R. Barrett
Willing To Learn quotes by Craig R. Barrett
The best parents aren't the ones who know everything. They're the ones who are willing to learn. ~ Noah Kempler
Willing To Learn quotes by Noah Kempler
I pre-suppose, of course, a reader who is willing to learn something new and therefore to think for himself. ~ Karl Marx
Willing To Learn quotes by Karl Marx
You learn a great deal that you can feed into your craft which gives you the experience that you actually need later on, when you start to get the really great roles. You've played that part to a certain degree in that picture, and you played that one in that, and so on. You add it all up, and you have that experience. ~ Angela Lansbury
Willing To Learn quotes by Angela Lansbury
Art is basically made by dissatisfied people who are willing to find some means to relieve the dissatisfaction. ~ John Chamberlain
Willing To Learn quotes by John Chamberlain
All you need is one thought and one word. When you learn how to connect them, you can do anything you like. ~ Jennifer Loiske
Willing To Learn quotes by Jennifer Loiske
One of the towers has fallen. When it's our turn to leave, it's like something in me is finally willing to listen, and suddenly I understand what it means. The tower doesn't exist anymore. Something I've seen my entire life - something so much larger than my entire life - is gone. That is my first reaction. And then I think about all the people inside. There must have been people inside. ~ David Levithan
Willing To Learn quotes by David Levithan
Our crisis is a birth. We are one living system and we have come to the limit of one phase of natural growth on a finite planet We must learn ethical evolution quickly As we seek to facilitate a gentle birth, a graceful and nonviolent transition to the next stage of our evolution, we will discover a natural pattern, a design of our birth transition, and develop a plan to cooperate with this design. ~ Barbara Marx Hubbard
Willing To Learn quotes by Barbara Marx Hubbard
Learn how to love others from a dog and
how to live for others from a tree. ~ Luffina Lourduraj
Willing To Learn quotes by Luffina Lourduraj
If you are lazy, and accept your lot, you may live in it. If you are willing to work, you can write your name anywhere you choose. ~ Gene Stratton-Porter
Willing To Learn quotes by Gene Stratton-Porter
It is imperative to master the principles of the art of war and learn to be unmoved in mind even in the heat of the battle. ~ Miyamoto Musashi
Willing To Learn quotes by Miyamoto Musashi
He wants to accomplish something in life, learn languages, see the world, read a thousand books, he wants to discover whether there is any core, but sometimes it's hard to think and read when one is stiff and sore after a difficult fishing voyage, wet and cold after twelve hours' working in the meadows, when his thoughts can be so heavy that he can hardly lift them, then it's a long way to the core. ~ Jon Kalman Stefansson
Willing To Learn quotes by Jon Kalman Stefansson
I'm just looking for characters that continue to make me stretch and grow and learn more about the human condition. ~ Forest Whitaker
Willing To Learn quotes by Forest Whitaker
Odd, though Margaret, that people were willing to die for what they considered worth living for. How curious a creature man was! how full of light and darkness and paradox, the heart as of a devil and the power in his crafting hands of some sort of god. ~ Jennifer Freitag
Willing To Learn quotes by Jennifer Freitag
At one hundred, surely you learn to overcome loss and grief - or do they hound you till the bitter end? ~ Andre Aciman
Willing To Learn quotes by Andre Aciman
Yes, I'm talking about a non-violent revolution of consciousness.
A consciousness that is able to understand
how we're all inextricably connected to each other on this Earth,
and to the Earth itself.
And that if we violate those fundamental principles, we do so at our own peril.
Yes, we can continue to live in this delusion and the denials of reality
because it's painful, it's frightening.
Sometimes, it's terrifying.
It's terrifying to face the truth.
So I ask each of you to search your hearts,
as to what your truth is,
for being a citizen of the Earth,
promoting justice as a foundation for peace.
It's not going to happen magically,
it's not going to happen by relying on these political structures and institutions.
I think we're going to have to wage peace in the most extraordinary ways
whether our government wants it or not.
Without a non-violent revolution of consciousness,
we will not survive as a civilization or as a planet.
We can choose to have peace if we want to pay the price.
And what more glorious goal than peace for all people?
...To build a new society, a society that understands
that we are not worth more, and they are not worth less.
And that we will be willing to pay the price and take the risks
to wage peace with all fellow and sister human beings. ~ S. Brian Willson
Willing To Learn quotes by S. Brian Willson
That's why I think death is the most wonderful invention of life. It purges the system of these old models that are obsolete. I think that's one of Apple's challenges, really. When two young people walk in with the next thing, are we going to embrace it and say this is fantastic? Are you going to be willing to drop our models, or are we going to explain it away? I think we'll do better, because we're completely aware of it and we make it a priority. ~ Steve Jobs
Willing To Learn quotes by Steve Jobs
Children grow rapidly, forget the centuries-long embrace from their parents, which to them lasted but seconds. Children become adults, live far from their parents, live their own houses, learn ways of their own, suffer pain, grow old. Children curse their parents for their wrinkled skin and hoarse voices. Those now old children also want to stop time, but at another time. They want to freeze their own children at the center of time. ~ Alan Lightman
Willing To Learn quotes by Alan Lightman
I've found that you can't measure happiness the way you measure yards in a race. You just learn to recognize it when it arrives so you can enjoy it while it lasts. ~ Karen White
Willing To Learn quotes by Karen White
It's very nice to see when somebody who wanted to work hard and is willing to put the work in gets rewarded for it. ~ Ivan Lendl
Willing To Learn quotes by Ivan Lendl
If you learn to sell, it's worth more than a degree. It's worth more than the heavyweight championship of the world. It's even more important than having a million dollars in the bank. Learn to sell, and you'll never starve. ~ George Foreman
Willing To Learn quotes by George Foreman
I've got a lot to learn, and I'm very blessed to work with such talented actors. I'm nowhere near my goal. It's all about applying yourself and taking time to work and train. ~ Kellan Lutz
Willing To Learn quotes by Kellan Lutz
it is the responsibility of free men to trust and celebrate what is constant - birth, struggle, and death are constant, and so is love, though we may not always think so - and to apprehend the nature of change, to be able and willing to change. ~ James Baldwin
Willing To Learn quotes by James Baldwin
Tear-stained flops are necessary. They're the gift you give yourself when you're willing to fly. ~ Sara Genn
Willing To Learn quotes by Sara Genn
We referenced fictional characters as if they were people to learn from. As if real-life people were too nebulous, too private and unreal for us to understand. ~ Miguel Syjuco
Willing To Learn quotes by Miguel Syjuco
As much as you need a strong personality to build a business from scratch, you also must understand the art of delegation. I have to be good at helping people run the individual businesses, and I have to be willing to step back. The company must be set up so it can continue without me. ~ Richard Branson
Willing To Learn quotes by Richard Branson
Pay less attention to what you hear about someone, and more to what you learn about them ... as you make the effort. ~ Og Mandino
Willing To Learn quotes by Og Mandino
Andrea ... you may have had moments of self-doubt, but in the end ... you are where you are. You made the strong choice ... the right choice. Everyone's always so focused on their destination that we forget to appreciate the things we learn along the journey. You did nothing more than have a few bumps along the way. That's all that is. Nothing more. ~ Sawyer Bennett
Willing To Learn quotes by Sawyer Bennett
We are sad at home and blame the weather and the ugliness of the buildings, but on the tropical island we learn that the state of the skies and the appearance of our dwellings can never on their own underwrite our joy nor condemn us to misery. ~ Alain De Botton
Willing To Learn quotes by Alain De Botton
So, let's get back to why the roots are the most important part of a tree. Conceivably, this is where the tree equivalent of a brain is located. Brain? you ask. Isn't that a bit farfetched? Possibly, but now we know that trees can learn. This means they must store experiences somewhere, and therefore, there must be some kind of a storage mechanism inside the organism. Just where it is, no one knows, but the roots are the part of the tree best suited to the task. The old spruce in Sweden also shows that what grows underground is the most permanent part of the tree-and where else would it store important information over a long period of time? Moreover, current research shows that a tree's delicate root networks is full of surprises.

It is now an accepted fact that the root network is in charge of all chemical activity in the tree. And there's nothing earth shattering about that. Many of our internal processes are also regulated by chemical messengers. Roots absorb substances and bring them into the tree. In the other direction, they deliver the products of photosynthesis to the tree's fungal partners and even route warning signals to neighboring trees. But a brain? For there to be something we would recognize as a brain, neurological processes must be involved, and for these, in addition to chemical messages, you need electrical impulses. And these are precisely what we can measure in the tree, and we've been able to do so since as far back as the nineteenth century ~ Peter Wohlleben
Willing To Learn quotes by Peter Wohlleben
After a while, you just don't do things you don't wanna do - that's the great freedom you get, the older you get. You learn what to do and what not to do, and what will be a waste of time and what won't be a waste of time. ~ Nick Cave
Willing To Learn quotes by Nick Cave
Certain realities in life are only seen through eyes that are cleansed through our tears. Let us learn how to weep ~ Pope Francis
Willing To Learn quotes by Pope Francis
Events are the best teacher for us. You try to learn from people, there is always some bend to it. ~ Yoko Ono
Willing To Learn quotes by Yoko Ono
An understanding, loving heart is the pinnacle of all human emotions ... . We come closest to becoming Christlike when we are charitable and understanding of others. One may have many talents and knowledge but never acquire wisdom because he does not learn to be compassionate with his fellow man. Christlike love must be continuous and contemporary. ~ Marvin J. Ashton
Willing To Learn quotes by Marvin J. Ashton
Finally Anna picked up the letters again, searched through them, fastened her eyes on Katri, and said, "This is wrong! Here you're not me! If a child is mad at her parents it's no comfort that the parents may be having troubles of their own. That's the wrong comfort! I never would have written that. Parents have to be strong and perfect of the child can't beliece in them. You'll have to fix it."
Katri's reaction was suddenly vehement. "But how can they rely on what's not reliable? For how many years do we fool these children into believing in something they shouldn't believe in? They have to learn early early, or they';; never manage on their own. ~ Tove Jansson
Willing To Learn quotes by Tove Jansson
People are confused and unsure, they seek answers to guide them to joy, tranquillity, self-knowledge, salvation―but they also demand that it be easy to learn, that it require little or no effort, that results be quickly obtained. ~ Erich Fromm
Willing To Learn quotes by Erich Fromm
God's perspective on us is remarkable, almost unbelievable. He delights in us and loves us as a caring Father. He's running toward us, ready to embrace and forgive us. He's for us in all the pain of life and can sustain us in every challenge. as i learn to see from God's perspective, my perspective on everything else shifts. i realize that my failures don't disqualify me. i'm aware of the security i already have in God's grace. i trust that nothing will separate me from the love of God in Christ. ~ Jud Wilhite
Willing To Learn quotes by Jud Wilhite
What does it mean to be Indigenous and to have ties to the person of Jesus without being tied to the destructive, colonizing institution of the church? It is a constant decolonizing. It is a constant longing for interaction with others who, following the Universal Christ, as Richard Rohr calls it, can take on the hope of a decolonizing faith. It is sharing space with Black people, Indigenous people, and other people of color, and letting our experiences shape each other. It means interacting with my white friends, having really difficult conversations, and facing my own privilege in that conversation as well. Deconstruction and decolonization can be partners, along with grief and truth-telling. May we learn from this community that we are called to the bigger work ahead of us, so that, together, we know what it means to return to Mystery that has always wanted all of us. May we do this work together so that, each day that we move on, we are building a future that is made for everyone. ~ Kaitlin B. Curtice
Willing To Learn quotes by Kaitlin B. Curtice
You have to be honest, have integrity, be able to cooperate and get along with other people. Sigma Chi is a great place to learn that and that's why it's a great thing to join this fraternity. ~ Jim Palmer
Willing To Learn quotes by Jim Palmer
People will hate you for speaking the truth, but you've gotta learn to stand up to them, so don't be offended if I say something you don't like. ~ Eminem
Willing To Learn quotes by Eminem
[I]f one is to learn from history, one should not concentrate solely upon a single portion of an era but rather make a thorough investigation of the many complex and mutually contradictory factors that made the era what it was. One must take the single portion and fit it into its proper place. One must evaluate the various elements that went into giving it its special character. Thus one must look at history from a perspective that offers a broad and balanced view.
This, I believe, is what is meant by learning from history. For any man's view of his own era is limited, and he has great difficulty in trying to obtain a comprehensive picture of his time. Precisely because of this, then, the comprehensive picture offered by history both provides information and constitutes a pattern for one's guidance. A man who lives bound by the limits of the minute-to-minute present is able, by means of the broad vision offered by time-transcending history, to avail himself of a comprehensive picture of his world and so correct his own narrow view of things. Such is the enjoyable privilege that history offers men.
Learning from history should never mean fastening upon a particular aspect of a particular era and using it as a model to reform a particular aspect of the present. To take out of the jigsaw puzzle of the past a piece with a set form and attempt to fit it into the present is not an enterprise that could have a happy outcome. To do so is to toy with history, a pastime fit ~ Yukio Mishima
