Unless we make Christmas an occasion to share our blessings, all the snow in Alaska won't make it 'white'. ~ Bing Crosby
White Christmas quotes by Bing Crosby
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, they sang. ~ Rachel Cohn
White Christmas quotes by Rachel Cohn
You see the Earth as a bright blue and white Christmas tree ornament in the black sky. It's so small and so fragile - you realize that on that small spot is everything that means everything to you; all of history and art and death and birth and love. ~ Rusty Schweickart
White Christmas quotes by Rusty Schweickart
we had more people begging for snow than those that had bet on a white Christmas ~ David Clark
White Christmas quotes by David Clark
In many ways, I think I'm a good person for it. I mean, I'm not a musical theater dude. Or rather, I don't watch everything, and love everything, and have every album. The ones that I love - like I've seen The Wizard of Oz a hundred times. West Side Story I love. I love Singing in the Rain, I love White Christmas. I love the Dennis Potter ones like Singing Detective and Pennies from Heaven. I love Sondheim. ~ James Ponsoldt
White Christmas quotes by James Ponsoldt
Back when we was in school in Mississippi, we had Little Black Sambo. That's what you learned: Anytime something was not good, or anytime something was bad in some kinda way, it had to be called black. Like, you had Black Monday, Black Friday, black sheep ... Of course, everything else, all the good stuff, is white. White Christmas and such. ~ B.B. King
White Christmas quotes by B.B. King
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white. ~ Irving Berlin
White Christmas quotes by Irving Berlin
Snowflakes fall from high.
Flurries lift and twirl below.
The world has turned white. ~ Richelle E. Goodrich
White Christmas quotes by Richelle E. Goodrich
Operation White Christmas was all about Hollie having the holiday of a lifetime - the holiday she'd dreamed of for years. ~ Nicki Edwards
White Christmas quotes by Nicki Edwards
I wish you could have seen the kitchen when I was done: It looked like a hurricane had blown right in the door! But I cleaned it all up, and when Mother came home the whole house smelled warm and spicy, Bing Crosby was singing "White Christmas" on the radio, I was wearing a clean apron, and she called me her "little homemaker."
What would you think about tomato mincemeat cookies? I bet no one else will think of that! ~ Ruth Reichl
White Christmas quotes by Ruth Reichl
I think tonight's the night I will hang Howard W. Campbell Jr., for crimes against himself... They say that a hanging man hears gorgeous music. Too bad that I, like my father, unlike my musical mother, am tone-deaf. All the same I hope the tune that I'm about to hear is not Bing Crosby's 'White Christmas ~ Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
White Christmas quotes by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
When what's left of you gets around to what's left to be gotten, what's left to be gotten won't be worth getting whatever it is you've got left. ~ Danny Kaye
White Christmas quotes by Danny Kaye
Well, you're not exactly Superman, but you're awfully available. ~ Vera-Ellen
White Christmas quotes by Vera-Ellen
All items listed above belong in the world
In which all things are continuous,
And are parts of the original dream which
I am now trying to discover the logic of. This
Is the process whereby pain of the past in its pastness
May be converted into the future tense
Of joy.
I Am Dreaming of a White Christmas: The Natural History of a Vision (1974) ~ Robert Penn Warren
White Christmas quotes by Robert Penn Warren
Are monsters born or created? ~ White Christmas - KBS Drama
White Christmas quotes by White Christmas - KBS Drama
I love 'White Christmas.' That's one of my favorites just because I love the music. I love the story, Bing Crosby. It's just one of my all time favorites. And it's hard to have a Christmas without seeing a little bit of Jimmy Stewart and angels running around town. ~ Scott Bakula
White Christmas quotes by Scott Bakula
Throw the word "bargain" around a few times, and people will swarm the tiredest old dreck like bees in search of a new hive. Or maybe locusts, ready to strip the place bare. They even buzzed like swarming insects. Voices raised in conversation and laughter, plus the occasional shrieks of a tired child, formed a background roar that still failed to drown out the tired tinkle of Christmas music piped over the top. I'd only been here ten minutes and already I'd heard White Christmas twice. Two times too many in my book. ~ Marina Finlayson
White Christmas quotes by Marina Finlayson
The real reason Jews don't have more Hanukkah music is that, historically, American Jewish singer-songwriters were too busy making Christmas music. 'White Christmas,' 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,' 'Silver Bells' and 'The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting)' were all written by Jews. ~ Matisyahu
White Christmas quotes by Matisyahu
I grew up with the classics. My mom and I would sit and watch 'Singin' in the Rain' and 'White Christmas' - those kind of movies. ~ Lucas Grabeel
White Christmas quotes by Lucas Grabeel
He was waiting for me at the best table in the room, toying with a glass of white wine and listening to the pianist who was playing a piece by Granados with velvet fingers. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
White Christmas quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Began to read a piece on how a high street chain of stores had banned Cliff Richard's Christmas songs. ~ Robert Galbraith
White Christmas quotes by Robert Galbraith
JESUS

Woke up in a white veil
The fog sets the silence in my hands
I think back to my thoughts
About the people
I'm thinking
With increasing pain in my head
People who have condemned me
Dark hour
in
the hours
And I would now complain quietly
But there is no fury
And there is no sadness
The time has melted away like water in the sea
Tears
of
the women
They are covered with clouds
Let my heart bleed to death
Among the thorns

last
There is no sun in the zenith ~ Sir Kristian Goldmund Aumann
White Christmas quotes by Sir Kristian Goldmund Aumann
He put a ring in the toe of a stocking. On Christmas Eve, we opened our stockings and it was there at the bottom of the toe. Then he got down on his knees and he was shaking. ~ Kyra Sedgwick
White Christmas quotes by Kyra Sedgwick
One of the Pima warriors on seeing the fire-arms used by the white soldiers, thought that the next time he went over to the [Maricopa] Wells, he would take his war weapons along and show them to the white soldiers. So the next time he went, he took along his war-club and shield. The soldiers on seeing his weapons, laughed and made all sorts of remarks as to the effective use of such weapons. The joking went on until the Pima made a challenge to the white man. He said:
'You, white warrior
Take shooting iron.
Stand here ready.
I take war club and shield,
Step off ten paces,
Turn around, come back.
If you see any part of me,
Shoot!'
The White soldier stood there with gun in hand while the Pima walked away ten paces, turned around and came back hiding behind the shield so well that no part of his body could be seen. The white soldier did not shoot as the Pima came up to him. With the edge of his shield the Pima knocked the gun out of the soldier's hand. He lifted his war club as if he was about to use it. But the soldier took to his heels and ran into a nearby house, closing the door after him.
The people who saw this had a good laugh and no such challenge was ever made again.
Sometimes there would be shooting contests between Pimas and whites, Pimas with their bows and arrows and the whites with their firearms. They would place a target at different distances and see who could hit the bull's eye. The Pimas often won the ma ~ George Webb
White Christmas quotes by George Webb
In all modern history, interference with science in the supposed interest of religion, no matter how conscientious such interference may have been, has resulted in the direst evils both to religion and to science, and invariably; and, on the other hand, all untrammelled scientific investigation, no matter how dangerous to religion some of its stages may have seemed for the time to be, has invariably resulted in the highest good both of religion and of science. ~ Andrew Dickson White
White Christmas quotes by Andrew Dickson White
There's the house where that little red-haired girl lives ... Maybe she'll see me, and come rushing out to thank me for the Christmas card I sent her ... Maybe she'll even give me a hug ... Maybe Billie Jean King will call me tonight, and invite me out to dinner. ~ Charles M. Schulz
White Christmas quotes by Charles M. Schulz
VERY EARLY ONE MORNING in July 1977, the FBI, having been tipped off about Operation Snow White, carried out raids on Scientology offices in Los Angeles and Washington, DC, carting off nearly fifty thousand documents. One of the files was titled "Operation Freakout." It concerned the treatment of Paulette Cooper, the journalist who had published an exposé of Scientology, The Scandal of Scientology, six years earlier. After having been indicted for perjury and making bomb threats against Scientology, Cooper had gone into a deep depression. She stopped eating. At one point, she weighed just eighty-three pounds. She considered suicide. Finally, she persuaded a doctor to give her sodium pentothal, or "truth serum," and question her under the anesthesia. The government was sufficiently impressed that the prosecutor dropped the case against her, but her reputation was ruined, she was broke, and her health was uncertain. The day after the FBI raid on the Scientology headquarters, Cooper was flying back from Africa, on assignment for a travel magazine, when she read a story in the International Herald Tribune about the raid. One of the files the federal agents discovered was titled "Operation Freakout." The goal of the operation was to get Cooper "incarcerated in a mental institution or jail. ~ Lawrence Wright
White Christmas quotes by Lawrence Wright
Each day of the holidays comes bringing its own gifts.
Open your heart,
Untie the ribbons,
and enjoy the contents!
Were earth a thousand times as fair
Beset with gold and jewels rare
She yet were far too poor to be
A narrow cradle,
Lord, for Thee. ~ Martin Luther
White Christmas quotes by Martin Luther
One line of King's speech in particular - that one day he might be judged by the content of his character and not the color of his skin - was seized upon by the white public because the words were seen to provide a simple and immediate solution to racial tensions: pretend that we don't see race, and racism will end. Color blindness was now promoted as the remedy for racism, with white people insisting that they didn't see race or, if they did, that it had no meaning to them. ~ Robin DiAngelo
White Christmas quotes by Robin DiAngelo
During my time in the entourages of Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, I never saw either of them attack and punish those who disagree, as Dobson does on a regular basis. ~ Mel White
White Christmas quotes by Mel White
I still get up every morning at 4 A.M. I write seven days a week, including Christmas. And I still face a blank page every morning, and my characters don't really care how many books I've sold. ~ Dan Brown
White Christmas quotes by Dan Brown
Does world seem black and white to you? Read books. You will see color. ~ Ksenia Anske
White Christmas quotes by Ksenia Anske
This is a fact. If you don't make art people like, you will never earn a living as an artist. ~ Jack White
White Christmas quotes by Jack White
And the guy with her was Lend's dad.
Didn't see that one coming. And, oh bleep, what would Lend think knowing that his dad had been very serious with one of Lend's least favorite people in the world? Or at least I assumed they were very serious, given the number of photos that they were sucking face in.
"Well, that's interesting," I said.
"What's interesting?" Jack called from the other room.
"Something is interesting?" Lend shouted.
"No! Nothing! I mean, nothing important. Keep looking."
"I found a vacuum," Lend said.
"Brilliant!" Jack answered. "Just what we needed! ~ Kiersten White
White Christmas quotes by Kiersten White
My mug had a reindeer in a bathrobe and slippers with Christmas lights laced in its antlers, toasting the merry season with champagne and saying, Bingle Jells. ~ Laurell K. Hamilton
White Christmas quotes by Laurell K. Hamilton
If the life we live in this world is wholly for Christ, it is a life of daily surrender. ~ Ellen G. White
White Christmas quotes by Ellen G. White
At least I'd done something right to day. Maybe. Probably. ~ Kiersten White
White Christmas quotes by Kiersten White
Nothing in this world was completely black or white. Wrong or right. Or if it was, what mattered was whose eyes it was being seen from. ~ Riley Hart
White Christmas quotes by Riley Hart
In a novel, I think you have a contract with the reader to make the character representative - of a moment in history, a social class ... for instance, I wanted to make the boy in 'A Boy's Own Story' more like other gay men of my generation in their youth and not like me. ~ Edmund White
White Christmas quotes by Edmund White
I think it's a wonderful thing to have African-American characters. Look at life. It's not a white world or a black world; there are all kind of people in it. It's showing growth, and in today's world there are so many outlets. ~ Darius McCrary
White Christmas quotes by Darius McCrary
One time, I spent three days mixing paint until I found the right shade for sunlight on white fur. You see, I kept thinking it was yellow. but it was much more than that. Layers of all sorts of color. One by one. ~ Suzanne Collins
White Christmas quotes by Suzanne Collins
A story should be managed so that it should suggest interesting things to the reader instead of the author's doing all the thinking for him, and setting it before him in black and white. ~ Sarah Orne Jewett
White Christmas quotes by Sarah Orne Jewett
And finally it is Thursday and the day of my guitar lesson. I jump out of bed as though it's Christmas morning and I am six years old and a child of the Brangelina. I am in front of the mirror fixing my make up when Brodie waltzes in and plonks herself on my bed.

'Why do you look pretty?' she asks. ~ Sarah Alderson
White Christmas quotes by Sarah Alderson
Over the plains of Ethiopia the sun rose as I had not seen it in seven years. A big, cool, empty sky flushed a little above a rim of dark mountains. The landscape 20,000 feet below gathered itself from the dark and showed a pale gleam of grass, a sheen of water. The red deepened and pulsed, radiating streaks of fire. There hung the sun, like a luminous spider's egg, or a white pearl, just below the rim of the mountains. Suddenly it swelled, turned red, roared over the horizon and drove up the sky like a train engine. I knew how far below in the swelling heat the birds were an orchestra in the trees about the villages of mud huts; how the long grass was straightening while dangling locks of dewdrops dwindled and dried; how the people were moving out into the fields about the business of herding and hoeing. ~ Doris Lessing
White Christmas quotes by Doris Lessing
A date, "often a boring thing you have to memorize in history class," but in this case, "an offer of a n evening of blisteringly white-hot romance with yours truly. ~ Cassandra Clare
White Christmas quotes by Cassandra Clare
I wish you a joyful time at Christmas and throughout the New Year. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
White Christmas quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
The vast majority of murdered whites are murdered by other whites. That's why there's no national outrage when a white person is killed by a black person: it's not evidence of some underlying black violence problem directed against white people. ~ Ben Shapiro
White Christmas quotes by Ben Shapiro
I have now traveled so far south that I find myself come to a place where our common expression "white as snow" has no useful meaning. Here, one who wishes his words to make plain sense had better say "white as cotton." I will not say that I find the landscape lovely. We go on through Nature to God, and my Northern eye misses the grandeur that eases that ascent. I yearn for mountains, or at least for the gentle ridges of Massachusetts; the sweet folds and furrows that offer the refreshment of a new vista as each gap or summit is obtained. Here all is obvious, a song upon a single note. One wakes and falls asleep to a green sameness, the sun like a pale egg yolk, peering down from a white sky.
And the river! Water as unlike our clear fast-flowing freshets as a fat broody hen to a hummingbird. Brown as treacle, wider than a harbor, this is water sans sparkle or shimmer. In places, it roils as if heated below by a hidden furnace. In others, it sucks the light down and gives back naught but an inscrutable sheen that conceals both depth and shallows. It is a mountebank, this river. It feigns a gentle lassitude, yet coiled beneath are currents that have crushed the trunks of mighty trees, and swept men to swift drownings… ~ Geraldine Brooks
White Christmas quotes by Geraldine Brooks
Chance wore a white tuxedo with tails. On anyone else? Doopy. On him? Yes, please. ~ Kathy Reichs
White Christmas quotes by Kathy Reichs
The great white cold walks abroad! ~ Richard Hovey
White Christmas quotes by Richard Hovey
In the beginning, before the arrival of the white men, I had considered myself neutral. I had wanted neither side to win, neither the army nor the rebels. As it turned out, both sides lost. ~ V.S. Naipaul
White Christmas quotes by V.S. Naipaul
Wherever you are, whatever circumstance you are facing, know that you are not alone in your struggles. God yearns to help you through this journey. Always trust in His truth, always lean on His understanding, and always submit to Him and He will make your paths straight. God is your source of power and strength. He is the only one who is capable of fulfilling you completely. Unveil yourself to Him and He will transform you. He will also be your help so that you can unveil yourself to your husband. May you continually walk in His amazing grace, covered in a blanket of white. ~ Jennifer Smith
White Christmas quotes by Jennifer Smith
Any legitimate religion consists of rules of morality linked by love. That's it. ~ Randy Wayne White
White Christmas quotes by Randy Wayne White
Older people of color in the South would occasionally come up to me after speeches to complain about how antagonized they feel when they hear news commentators talking about how we were dealing with domestic terrorism for the first time in the United States after the 9/11 attacks. An older African American man once said to me, "You make them stop saying that! We grew up with terrorism all the time. The police, the Klan, anybody who was white could terrorize you. We had to worry about bombings and lynchings, racial violence of all kinds. ~ Bryan Stevenson
White Christmas quotes by Bryan Stevenson
Each of us - rich and poor, gay and straight, black and white - we are fragile and finite. We all go through this glorious life without guarantees, without promises of rescue or redemption. We have freedom of speech and religion, and the absolute freedom to leave behind our loved ones, or to force them to unhappily pursue us. ~ Sherman Alexie
White Christmas quotes by Sherman Alexie
In a matter of sixty short minutes, that thing could whisk Neil away to civilization, I thought. Hmm.
My goodness, that was a beautiful prospect.
Somehow I had to get on that chopper with him.
I packed in thirty seconds flat, everything from the past three months. I taped a white cross onto my sleeve, and raced out to where Neil was sat waiting.
One chance.
What the heck.
Neil shook his head at me, smiling.
"God, you push it, Bear, don't you?" he shouted over the noise of the rotors.
"You're going to need a decent medic on the flight," I replied, with a smile. "And I'm your man." (There was at least some element of truth in this: I was a medic and I was his buddy--and yes, he did need help. But essentially I was trying to pull a bit of a fast one.)
The pilot shouted that two people would be too heavy.
"I have to accompany him at all times," I shouted back over the engine noise. "His feet might fall off at any moment," I added quietly.
The pilot looked back at me, then at the white cross on my sleeve.
He agreed to drop Neil somewhere down at a lower altitude, and then come back for me.
"Perfect. Go. I'll be here." I shook his hand firmly.
Let's just get this done before anyone thinks too much about it, I mumbled to myself.
And with that the pilot took off and disappeared from view.
Mick and Henry were laughing.
"If you pull this one off, Bear, I will eat my socks. You just love to push it, do ~ Bear Grylls
White Christmas quotes by Bear Grylls
The throne was empty, and above it hung only the ancient flag of Remalna, tattered in places from age. Galdran's banners were, of course, gone. No one was on the dais. Just below it, side by side in fine chairs, sat the Prince and Princess.
At their feet Shevraeth knelt formally on white cushions before a long carved table. He now wore white and silver with blue gemstones on his tunic and in his braided hair. He looks like a king, I thought, though he was nowhere near the throne. ~ Sherwood Smith
White Christmas quotes by Sherwood Smith
Then the coxswain called out, 'Ready all!' Joe turned and faced the rear of the boat, slid his seat forward, sank the white blade of his oar into the oil-black water, tensed his muscles, and waited for the command that would propel him forward into the glimmering darkness. ~ Daniel James Brown
White Christmas quotes by Daniel James Brown
A writer without reviews is like racing car without an engine - shows lots of potential but it's never going anywhere.

Lillian White ~ Lillian White
White Christmas quotes by Lillian White
When they turned, Pelletier and Espinoza saw an older woman in a white blouse and black skirt, a woman with a figure like Marlene Dietrich, as Pelletier would say much later, a woman who despite her years was still as strong willed as ever, a woman who didn't cling to the edge of the abyss but plunged into it with curiosity and elegance. A woman who plunged into the abyss sitting down. ~ Roberto Bolano
White Christmas quotes by Roberto Bolano
History is always best written generations after the event, when clouded fact and memory have all fused into what can be accepted as truth, whether it be so or not. ~ Theodore White
White Christmas quotes by Theodore White
