You are the stars hidden by clouds. I know you're there even when I can't see you. Your shine peeks out and reaches me in the depths of my soul. Tell me your arms are long enough to reach me across oceans. Tell me someday we will be together, somehow, some way. Tell me that this love we have can survive being together as well as we've survived being apart. Tell me we are more than the chasm of our divide. ~ Jacqueline Simon Gunn
Relationship Poem quotes by Jacqueline Simon Gunn
His tongue was one of his greatest qualities. He knew exactly how to use it with me. Encouraging, kind, and loving words flowed freely and frequently from his lips. Always inspiring me to upgrade my thinking. His tongue spoke life into me… Awakening gifts in me that I didn't know existed. He used his tongue wisely. Truth be told, he's part of the reason why I am me. Exquisite, Powerful, Fearless, and Unapologetic. I'll be forever grateful for his genuine love. ~ Stephanie Lahart
Relationship Poem quotes by Stephanie Lahart
The particular province of the shaman is the province of soul, that which feeds our embodied life, or fails to feed it. From a shamanic point of view, the relationship with animal allies, or animals that show themselves in animal forms, is a vital part of living. We're fully embodied, with full access to our natural soul energy. ~ Robert Moss
Relationship Poem quotes by Robert Moss
I don't know if I've learned anything yet! I did learn how to have a happy home, but I consider myself fortunate in that regard because I could've rolled right by it. Everybody has a superficial side and a deep side, but this culture doesn't place much value on depth - we don't have shamans or soothsayers, and depth isn't encouraged or understood. Surrounded by this shallow, glossy society we develop a shallow side, too, and we become attracted to fluff. That's reflected in the fact that this culture sets up an addiction to romance based on insecurity - the uncertainty of whether or not you're truly united with the object of your obsession is the rush people get hooked on. I've seen this pattern so much in myself and my friends and some people never get off that line.
But along with developing my superficial side, I always nurtured a deeper longing, so even when I was falling into the trap of that other kind of love, I was hip to what I was doing. I recently read an article in Esquire magazine called 'The End of Sex,' that said something that struck me as very true. It said: "If you want endless repetition, see a lot of different people. If you want infinite variety, stay with one." What happens when you date is you run all your best moves and tell all your best stories - and in a way, that routine is a method for falling in love with yourself over and over.
You can't do that with a longtime mate because he knows all that old material. With a long relationship ~ Joni Mitchell
Relationship Poem quotes by Joni Mitchell
Everyone has someone to call on when they're down, let me be that someone when that ones not around. ~ Mark W. Boyer
Relationship Poem quotes by Mark W. Boyer
You can be more effective together than apart. In a truly healthy relationship, we enable each other to accomplish more than we could have done alone. This was His plan. ~ Francis Chan
Relationship Poem quotes by Francis Chan
There is a moment in every relationship when you see the whole thing. The question is when does the moment come? Is it the first time you see the person and instinctively know that things between you are going to work out, or fail? Or is it a moment toward the end, however you get there, when you realize that there is something behind this persons eyes that you were never able to touch, no matter how hard you tried? ~ Laura Dave
Relationship Poem quotes by Laura Dave
You are acting as though there is a choice in who you love. It doesn't really work that way. You love who you love."

"Now you're being ridiculous. Of course love is a choice."

"Being in a relationship with someone is a choice. Loving them isn't. There are plenty of people divorced today who still love one another. And there are a bunch of people out there who love someone with everything they have, but choose not to be with them because they're addicts or they're unreliable, or they cheated. The choosing to be with someone or not part, that is a choice. But who you end up falling for, that is completely out of your control. ~ Jessica Gadziala
Relationship Poem quotes by Jessica Gadziala
Words in a poem are like petals on a flower, only together, in the right position, at the right time are they seen as they should be. ~ David McDonald
Relationship Poem quotes by David McDonald
The key to healthy communication is having a willingness to lay aside our defensive tendencies and accept responsibility for our part of the relationship ~ Asa Don Brown
Relationship Poem quotes by Asa Don Brown
I don't think it ever works to tell people what they can't eat. They can do it for so long, and then they fall off. You have to bring them into a new relationship with food. ~ Alice Waters
Relationship Poem quotes by Alice Waters
Until the day that "the Great Judge proclaims: / 'The last addict's died,'254 " the poem said, "Then - not till then - may you be retired. ~ Johann Hari
Relationship Poem quotes by Johann Hari
choose your words well
(be honest, be true)
but
above all else,
be kind ~ Bryonie Wise
Relationship Poem quotes by Bryonie Wise
People knew about Babi Yar before Yevtushenko 's poem, but they were silent. And when they read the poem, the silence was broken. Art destroys silence. ~ Dmitri Shostakovich
Relationship Poem quotes by Dmitri Shostakovich
I have to be in a relationship in order to be intimate. I'm not the one-night-stand kind of girl. Despite the rumors. ~ Kim Kardashian
Relationship Poem quotes by Kim Kardashian
I feel good with my husband: I like his warmth and his bigness and his being-there and his making and his jokes and stories and what he reads and how he likes fishing and walks and pigs and foxes and little animals and is honest and not vain or fame-crazy and how he shows his gladness for what I cook him and joy for when I make him something, a poem or a cake, and how he is troubled when I am unhappy and wants to do anything so I can fight out my soul-battles and grow up with courage and a philosophical ease. I love his good smell and his body that fits with mine as if they were made in the same body-shop to do just that. What is only pieces, doled out here and there to this boy and that boy, that made me like pieces of them, is all jammed together in my husband. So I don't want to look around any more: I don't need to look around for anything. ~ Sylvia Plath
Relationship Poem quotes by Sylvia Plath
I don't like to design single objects. I like my pieces to have a relationship to each other. They can be mother and child, like the Schmoo salt and pepper shakers, or brother and sister like the Birdie salt and peppers, or cousins, like most of my dinnerware sets. ~ Eva Zeisel
Relationship Poem quotes by Eva Zeisel
Well, Mr Ward. Given how much sex we have, I'd say you're the majority shareholder of power in this relationship. ~ Jodi Ellen Malpas
Relationship Poem quotes by Jodi Ellen Malpas
Argumentation is a human enterprise that is embedded in a larger social and psychological context. This context includes (1) the total psyches of the two persons engaged in dialogue, (2) the relationship between the two persons, (3) the immediate situation in which they find themselves and (4) the larger social, cultural and historical situation surrounding them. ~ Peter Kreeft
Relationship Poem quotes by Peter Kreeft
Path to happiness is to be in relationship with travelling... ~ Self
Relationship Poem quotes by Self
Here's something I bet you don't know:
every time someone writes a story about a dragon
a real dragon dies.
Something about seeing
and being seen
something about mirrors
that old tune about how a photograph
can take your whole soul. At the end
of this poem
I'm going to go out like electricity
in an ice storm. I've made peace with it. ~ Catherynne M Valente
Relationship Poem quotes by Catherynne M Valente
To be human is not simply to find a life alone with God, but to be born in relationship with others. ~ Craig Rennebohm
Relationship Poem quotes by Craig Rennebohm
Growth is about moving forward while chaos often sends you repeatedly through the same cycles. ~ Victoria L. White
Relationship Poem quotes by Victoria L. White
Because I was so involved with Barbara [Stanwyck], I was off-limits for other women, which was something of a problem for the studio. They wanted to promote the image of a carefree young stud - never my style - so I had publicity dates with young actresses around town like Lori Nelson or Debra Paget. This was a relic of the days when the studio system was in its prime. The studio would arrange for two young stars-in-waiting to go out to dinner and a dance and assign a photographer to accompany them. The result would be placed in a fan magazine. It was a totally artificial story documenting a nonexistent relationship, but it served to keep the names of young talents in front of the public. As far as I was concerned, it was part of the job, and usually pleasant enough. When reporters would ask me about my romantic life, which they did incessantly, I had to say things like, "If I go out with one woman a few times, it's considered a romance. If I date a lot of girls, I'm a Casanova. It's one of those 'heads-you-win-tails-I-lose' deals. I don't think it's anybody's business what I do." The last sentence contained my true feelings. ~ Robert J. Wagner
Relationship Poem quotes by Robert J. Wagner
First love is amazing and wonderful, but a kind of panic underlies it, a sense of not knowing what you're doing. ~ Scott Westerfeld
Relationship Poem quotes by Scott Westerfeld
She's has craters you didn't create and darkness you don't deserve. She's as stunning as the moon on a cloudless night, but it may take millennia for her to find and manifest her own internal sunlight. ~ Curtis Tyrone Jones
Relationship Poem quotes by Curtis Tyrone Jones
My work reflects a relationship to the built world that shifts between control and randomness, strangeness and beauty, comfort and fear. ~ David Allee
Relationship Poem quotes by David Allee
Beauty is irrelevant to human life, especially in a relationship. ~ Abhijit Naskar
Relationship Poem quotes by Abhijit Naskar
Even the "proper way" of how we express our love for another is imposed on us and dictated by societies we live in. ~ Tatjana Ostojic
Relationship Poem quotes by Tatjana Ostojic
In any case, it is a mistake to equate concreteness with things. An individual object is the unique phenomenon it is because it is caught up in a mesh of relations with other objects. It is this web of relations and interactions, if you like, which is 'concrete', while the object considered in isolation is purely abstract. In his Grundrisse, Karl Marx sees the abstract not as a lofty, esoteric notion, but as a kind of rough sketch of a thing. The notion of money, for example, is abstract because it is no more than a bare, preliminary outline of the actual reality. It is only when we reinsert the idea of money into its complex social context, examining its relations to commodities, exchange, production and the like, that we can construct a 'concrete' concept of it, one which is adequate to its manifold substance. The Anglo-Saxon empiricist tradition, by contrast, makes the mistake of supposing that the concrete is simple and the abstract is complex. In a similar way, a poem for Yury Lotman is concrete precisely because it is the product of many interacting systems. Like Imagist poetry, you can suppress a number of these systems (grammar, syntax, metre and so on) to leave the imagery standing proudly alone; but this is actually an abstraction of the imagery from its context, not the concretion it appears to be. In modern poetics, the word 'concrete' has done far more harm than good. ~ Terry Eagleton
Relationship Poem quotes by Terry Eagleton
Fuck You Poem #45

Fuck you in slang and conventional English.
Fuck you in lost and neglected lingoes.
Fuck you hungry and sated; faded, pock marked, and defaced.
Fuck you with orange rind, fennel and anchovy paste.
Fuck you with rosemary and thyme, and fried green olives on the side.
Fuck you humidly and icily.
Fuck you farsightedly and blindly.
Fuck you nude and draped in stolen finery.

Fuck you while cells divide wildly and birds trill.
Thank you for barring me from his bedside while he was ill.
Fuck you puce and chartreuse.
Fuck you postmodern and prehistoric.
Fuck you under the influence of opiun, codeine, laudanum, and paregoric.
Fuck every real and imagined country you fancied yourself princess of.
Fuck you on feast days and fast days, below and above.
Fuck you sleepless and shaking for nineteen nights running.
Fuck you ugly and fuck you stunning.

Fuck you shipwrecked on the barren island of your bed.
Fuck you marching in lockstep in the ranks of the dead.
Fuck you at low and high tide.
And fuck you astride
anyone who has the bad luck to fuck you, in dank hallways,
bathrooms, or kitchens.
Fuck you in gasps and whispered benedictions.

And fuck these curses, however heartfelt and true,
that bind me, till I forgive you, to you. ~ Amy Gerstler
Relationship Poem quotes by Amy Gerstler
The meaning of a poem is in the cadences and the shape of the lines and the pulse of the thought which is given by those lines. ~ George Oppen
Relationship Poem quotes by George Oppen
This separation happened for a reason, this esason is for our own good; God is just positioning us. ~ Euginia Herlihy
Relationship Poem quotes by Euginia Herlihy
Journey's end
In western lands beneath the Sun
The flowers may rise in Spring,
The trees may bud, the waters run,
The merry finches sing.
Or there maybe 'tis cloudless night,
And swaying branches bear
The Elven-stars as jewels white
Amid their branching hair.
Though here at journey's end I lie
In darkness buried deep,
Beyond all towers strong and high,
Beyond all mountains steep,
Above all shadows rides the Sun
And Stars for ever dwell:
I will not say the Day is done,
Nor bid the Stars farewell.J. ~ J.R.R. Tolkien
Relationship Poem quotes by J.R.R. Tolkien
One genuine new relationship is worth a fistful of business cards. ~ Susan Cain
Relationship Poem quotes by Susan Cain
love ridden
i searched for you
in corridors,
open doors
and in endless seas
of similes
and metaphors
but we never were
on the same page. ~ K.Y. Robinson
Relationship Poem quotes by K.Y. Robinson
This give-and-take prepares children for the expectation of relationship with machines that is at the heart of the robotic moment. ~ Sherry Turkle
