I'm A Queer Poet Too! She stressed queer not because she walked around identifying as a queer poet but so that the youth understood she would fuck her. ~ Michelle Tea
Queer Poet quotes by Michelle Tea
American poets celebrate their bodies, very specifically, as Whitman did. ~ Diane Wakoski
Queer Poet quotes by Diane Wakoski
And some poets are far better read off the page because they're very bad speakers. I'm thinking of one in particular whom I won't name, a good poet, and he reads in such a dry, boring way, your eyes start drooping. ~ Norman MacCaig
Queer Poet quotes by Norman MacCaig
Not the bee upon the blossom,
In the pride o' sunny noon;
Not the little sporting fairy,
All beneath the simmer moon;
Not the poet, in the moment
Fancy lightens in his e'e,
Kens the pleasure, feels the rapture,
That thy presence gi'es to me. ~ Robert Burns
Queer Poet quotes by Robert Burns
A poet is a verb that blossoms light in gardens of dawn, or sometimes midnight. ~ Aberjhani
Queer Poet quotes by Aberjhani
Touching her fingers, touching skin to skin. Her mouth, her breath, the shape of her flushed face. A tender hand on a naked waist, exploring the new feelings. The inner-soul scent of her hair, burying your mind in it. Inside of me, always inside of me. Memorizing the feelings and perfumes. Something one can keep. Carmen thought, Trust… Something growing. Something true. Something reaching out. ~ Cassandra Barnes
Queer Poet quotes by Cassandra Barnes
Rama, the ancient idol of the heroic ages, the embodiment of truth, of morality, the ideal son, the ideal husband, and above all, the ideal king, this Rama has been presented before us by the great sage Valmiki. No language can be purer, none chaster, none more beautiful, and at the same time simpler, than the language in which the great poet has depicted the life of Rama. ~ Swami Vivekananda
Queer Poet quotes by Swami Vivekananda
Well, now that I'm thoroughly and diligently queer, I expected more manly love-talk, you know? Not like Pretty Baby and feeding you grapes and stuff," he snorted.
"Uh, you mean like, hey you bastard I don't have a beer and nobody's sucking my dick, what's wrong with this picture? ~ Z.A. Maxfield
Queer Poet quotes by Z.A. Maxfield
And life is as short as a shot in the dark
And as sweet as a knife in the back.

(Prof. J. Hörbicher, glacial cosmogonist, amateur poet, in Astrofisico. ~ Steven William Lawrie
Queer Poet quotes by Steven William Lawrie
David ran through concrete advantages. And then set aside the practical. The pragmatist was gone, replaced by the poet and mystic. ~ Geraldine Brooks
Queer Poet quotes by Geraldine Brooks
I was appointed Poet Laureate. It came totally out of the blue because most Poet Laureates had been considerably older than I. It was not something that I even had begun to dream about! ~ Rita Dove
Queer Poet quotes by Rita Dove
One more royal trait properly belongs to the poet. I mean his cheerfulness, without which no man can be a poet,
for beauty is his aim. He loves virtue, not for its obligation, but for its grace; he delights in the world, in man, in woman, for the lovely light that sparkles from them. Beauty, the spirit of joy and hilarity, he sheds over the universe. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Queer Poet quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson
The bicycle, the bicycle surely, should always be the vehicle of novelists and poets. ~ Christopher Morley
Queer Poet quotes by Christopher Morley
Love, according to our contemporary poets, is a privilege which two beings confer upon one another, whereby they may mutually cause one another much sorrow over absolutely nothing. ~ Honore De Balzac
Queer Poet quotes by Honore De Balzac
If the poet would avoid pepsis in his patients, his scalpel must be as clean as the surgeon's. ~ Austin O'Malley
Queer Poet quotes by Austin O'Malley
The arts (painting, poetry, etc.) are not just these. Eating, drinking, walking are also arts; every act is an art. ~ Cesar Vallejo
Queer Poet quotes by Cesar Vallejo
We are the sons of Sorrow; we are the poets and the prophets and the musicians. ~ Khalil Gibran
Queer Poet quotes by Khalil Gibran
Blaisedell, the poet, had said to him, 'You love beer so much. I'll bet some day you'll go in and order a beer milk shake.' It was a simple piece of foolery but it had bothered Doc ever since. He wondered what a beer milk shake would taste like. The idea gagged him but he couldn't let it alone. It cropped up every time he had a glass of beer. Would it curdle the milk? Would you add sugar? It was like a shrimp ice cream. Once the thing got into your head you couldn't forget it ... If a man ordered a beer milk shake, he thought, he'd better do it in a town where he wasn't known. But then, a man with a beard, ordering a beer milk shake in a town where he wasn't known
they might call the police. ~ John Steinbeck
Queer Poet quotes by John Steinbeck
I thought I was going to be a poet when I was in college, but then I found out I was poor so I decided to do something I'd get paid for. ~ Josh Lieb
Queer Poet quotes by Josh Lieb
The true poet has no choice of material. The material plainly chooses him, not he it. ~ J.D. Salinger
Queer Poet quotes by J.D. Salinger
Restraint:
"There are three things that must always act restrained.
Even five that should not use violence as their final word:
The diplomat negotiating for his lord,
The teacher instilling knowledge,
The parent dealing with exasperating children,
The officer establishing respect among the troops,
And the wronged seeking justice."
- The Order of Things, Jan Alinckbroodt,
Clinohumite poet philosopher (457 fTF - 620 fTF)(translated by D. J. Kenny) ~ D.J. Kenny
Queer Poet quotes by D.J. Kenny
Your flesh is not a reflection of your soul. So when you look in the mirror, remember that your light outshines your flaws. ~ D. Antoinette Foy
Queer Poet quotes by D. Antoinette Foy
A Coy Aversion

...a flutter
too shy
to be seen... ~ Muse
Queer Poet quotes by Muse
Whatever is genuine in social relations endures, despite of time, error, absence, and destiny; and that which has no inherent vitality had better die at once. A great poet has truly declared that constancy is no virtue, but a fact. ~ Henry Theodore Tuckerman
Queer Poet quotes by Henry Theodore Tuckerman
Genius is that energy which collects, combines, amplifies, and animates. ~ Samuel Johnson
Queer Poet quotes by Samuel Johnson
Example moves the world more than doctrine. The great exemplars are the poets of action, and it makes little difference whether they be forces for good or forces for evil. ~ Henry Miller
Queer Poet quotes by Henry Miller
The child and the poet know that Reality is what does not need to be realistic. ~ Vicki Lewis Thompson
Queer Poet quotes by Vicki Lewis Thompson
For nine more nights they trained, after an arduous day's march, Vaelin would try to turn a poet into a swordsman. ~ Anthony Ryan
Queer Poet quotes by Anthony Ryan
Poetry ~~ No definition of poetry is adequate unless it be poetry itself. The most accurate analysis by the rarest wisdom is yet insufficient, and the poet will instantly prove it false by setting aside its requistions. It is indeed all that we do not know. The poet does not need to see how meadows are something else than earth, grass, and water, but how they are thus much. He does not need discover that potato blows are as beautiful as violets, as the farmer thinks, but only how good potato blows are. The poem is drawn out from under the feet of the poet, his whole weight has rested on this ground. It has a logic more severe than the logician's. You might as well think to go in pursuit of the rainbow, and embrace it on the next hill, as to embrace the whole of poetry even in thought. ~ Henry David Thoreau
Queer Poet quotes by Henry David Thoreau
Then, she stepped hard on something soft.
"Ouch!" exclaimed an urgent, musical voice behind her followed by another blast of that scent. That voice rang out in the night like a small bell. Damn, thought Carmen. These late-night stragglers always show up just as I am closing!
"We're closed," she commented impatiently, not even bothering to turn around. "I can't get you anything, my cash register is empty. And, I definitely can't get you any gasoline. The pumps are shut down."
"You're on my foot!" said the small, feminine voice again, protesting more loudly. "Get off!" The girl laughed. The street lights came on, as if the pressure of stepping on this person's foot had turned them on. Carmen laughed at the synchronicity. She felt a small hand on her waist as she moved her foot off the soft place it had landed. It had been years since she had felt a woman's touch.
The feminine voice said quietly, "That hurt."
Carmen whirled around to face the girl she had stepped on, and almost lost her balance. Her eyes met the huge violet eyes of the most beautiful country girl she had ever seen standing directly behind her. Obviously, she had stepped on her. She apologized until she was speechless. Then, she coughed and indicated her truck.
The girl had straight, healthy blue hair, delicately shaved over one ear and well-done light makeup with a few rhinestone studs in her ears and nose. Carmen had sucked her breath in audibly at the girl's appearance. This dimin ~ Cassandra Barnes
Queer Poet quotes by Cassandra Barnes
If you want to become a man of letters and perhaps write some Histories one day, you must also lie and invent tales, otherwise your History would become monotonous. But you must act with restraint. The world condemns liars who do nothing but lie, even about the most trivial things, and it rewards poets, who lie only about the greatest things. ~ Umberto Eco
Queer Poet quotes by Umberto Eco
Queer Ducks flock together. ~ Gail Carson Levine
Queer Poet quotes by Gail Carson Levine
It's true I'm not very well off
But I feel richer than Boris Karloff
Because I'm a poet, because I know you
And because I know how much I need
Which isn't much but it's easy to bluff
That you have enough when you have the freedom
To know pretty well when enough is enough.
- ~ David W. McFadden
Queer Poet quotes by David W. McFadden
Once, poets were magicians. Poets were strong, stronger than warriors or kings - stronger than old hapless gods. And they will be strong once again. ~ Greg Bear
Queer Poet quotes by Greg Bear
I like to mix it up, because the kind of comments you can get from a fiction writer about your poetry are going to be very different than what you'll get from a poet. ~ Sandra Cisneros
Queer Poet quotes by Sandra Cisneros
I saw a pink sun, and when no one believed me I blocked their sky with the soft side of my hand.

Kushal_Poddar_Poet ~ Kushal Poddar, Poet
Queer Poet quotes by Kushal Poddar, Poet
The more the poet grows, the deeper the level of creative intuition descends into the density of his soul. Where formerly he could be moved to song, he can do nothing now, he must dig deeper. ~ Jacques Maritain
