You know, Goddie's been trying for years to turn me to the gay side," he says in a small, quiet mumble. "I was pretty sure that was never on the cards, until I met you. ~ K.C. Finn
Legion Lost quotes by K.C. Finn
The kiss has started something bigger between us, and the lies I'm telling Stirling will only get worse from here on in. ~ K.C. Finn
Legion Lost quotes by K.C. Finn
The moment that the state came into conflict with the higher power, the moment that it set itself up as an end in itself, it became identified with Augustine's earthly city and lost all claims to a higher sanction than the law of force and self-interest. Without justice, what is a great kingdom but a great robbery, magnum latrocinium? ~ Christopher Dawson
Legion Lost quotes by Christopher Dawson
I started writing everything down.I wrote for the same reason someone lost sticks a message in a bottle.
I'm here. Help. Please find me. ~ Heather Sellers
Legion Lost quotes by Heather Sellers
Somewhere between sanity and madness lays a fine line, for some it is a tightrope walked daily, a fight for balance to be won or lost. That fight is lost one of two ways. Some simply lose their balance and fall, others are pushed. ~ Zoe Heller
Legion Lost quotes by Zoe Heller
Then his lips were on mine and I lost myself, overwhelmed by the surge of Trey's emotions as they flooded through me. I kissed him back wanting to forget my fear of being discovered of putting him in danger and focus only on how good it felt being in his arms. After all relinquishing some control was a sacrifice worth making if it meant I could continue to live in this fantasy with Trey. But the dreaded tingling in my teeth started up again and I reluctantly pulled away. ~ Heather Jensen
Legion Lost quotes by Heather Jensen
We are closer to the end of the world than to that minute that has just passed by, because that is lost forever. ~ Hakan Nesser
Legion Lost quotes by Hakan Nesser
If you'll be my body guard, I can be your long lost pal. ~ Paul Simon
Legion Lost quotes by Paul Simon
Gentlemen! I too have been a close observer of the doings of the Bank of the United States. I have had men watching you for a long time, and am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves. I have determined to rout you out, and by the Eternal, (bringing his fist down on the table) I will rout you out! ~ Andrew Jackson
Legion Lost quotes by Andrew Jackson
We old athletes carry the disfigurements and markings of contests remembered only by us and no one else. Nothing is more lost than a forgotten game. ~ Pat Conroy
Legion Lost quotes by Pat Conroy
Annabel was trying to hide her sword under her suit jacket without much success. People were staring ...
And then they weren't. There were no people, as if the whole town had forgotten as one that these streets and this square had ever existed. The deserted street they were racing down seemed darker than the busy street they had left, as if light was lost with memory, as if they were running into oblivion, and Mae didn't care as long as they got there in time. ~ Sarah Rees Brennan
Legion Lost quotes by Sarah Rees Brennan
I don't wanna hear the sorry's
I'm tired of all the talkin' to be honest I would rather see a difference
Yeah, you pass me in the hallway
But you ain't say a word to me
Lately all I ever feel is distant
You don't care that you lost me
What's wrong with ya ~ Nathan Feuerstein (NF)
Legion Lost quotes by Nathan Feuerstein (NF)
When I look back on that time, it's with the strangest stew of emotions: love, longing, terror, horror, regret, and the deep sweetness only those who've been near death can know. I think it's how Adam and Eve must have felt. Surely they looked back at Eden, don't you think, as they started barefoot down the path to where we are now, in our glum political world of bullets and bombs and satellite TV? Looked past the angel guarding the shut gate with his fiery sword? Sure. I think they must have wanted one more look at the green world they had lost, with its sweet water and kind-hearted animals. And its snake, of course. ~ Stephen King
Legion Lost quotes by Stephen King
Browsing for books with a mouse and screen is not nearly as joyful an act as wandering the stacks and getting lost in the labyrinthine corridors of knowledge. The best libraries are places of imagination, education and community. The best libraries have mystery to them. ~ Sam Weller
Legion Lost quotes by Sam Weller
The reapportionment of 2002 designed congressional districts that favored incumbents of both parties, leaving virtually no room for challengers to be elected. Of 435 members of the House of Representatives, only four incumbents lost to nonincumbents of the other party. In all, 96 percent of incumbents were re-elected. (It was only 90 percent in 1992 and 1982 after the previous reapportionments.) ~ Dick Morris
Legion Lost quotes by Dick Morris
That was fantastic," Alvarez said. "I want to do it again. Next year, maybe, when my legs grow back." "Stop being such a baby," Laila said. "Ignore her," Alvarez said to Neil. "She's just sour because she lost nine goals in forty-five minutes. Don't know why, not like it's a new personal record or - ohhh, it is. Ouch, that's gotta sting a bit. So much for being first-draft. ~ Nora Sakavic
Legion Lost quotes by Nora Sakavic
I've lived with women, loved women, lost women. They've loved me, lost me, whatever. ~ Stephen Adly Guirgis
Legion Lost quotes by Stephen Adly Guirgis
Was I in here last night and did I spend a $20 bill?
Oh, thank goodness ... I thought I'd lost it. ~ W.C. Fields
Legion Lost quotes by W.C. Fields
Opportunity is never lost ... it simply moves on to someone else if you don't seize it! ~ Kim Garst
Legion Lost quotes by Kim Garst
If you care about the 2012 election and value the voices of regular Americans who lost hope in their hope and change candidate, this is one documentary you won't want to miss. ~ Jedediah Bila
Legion Lost quotes by Jedediah Bila
He frequently lost all self-control and his language grew increasingly violent. In his intimate circle he now found no restraining influence.47 ~ William L. Shirer
Legion Lost quotes by William L. Shirer
Behold the groves that shine with silver frost, their beauty withered, and their verdure lost! ~ Alexander Pope
Legion Lost quotes by Alexander Pope
How easily the truth is lost, and how persistent lies are. ~ Sergei Lukyanenko
Legion Lost quotes by Sergei Lukyanenko
Never again the music blown as brightly
Off of my heart as foam blown off a wave;
Never again the melody that lightly
Caressed my grief and healed the wounds it gave.

Never again–I hear my dark thoughts clashing
Sullen and blind as waves that beat a wall–
Age that is coming, summer that is going,
All I have lost or never found at all. ~ Sara Teasdale
Legion Lost quotes by Sara Teasdale
Something in me was changing season too. I was no longer striving, fighting to change the unchangeable, not clenching in anxiety at the life we'd been unable to hold on to, or angry at an authoritarian system too bureaucratic to see the truth. A new season had crept into me, a softer season of acceptance. Burnt in by the sun, driven in by the storms. I could feel the sky, the earth, the water and revel in being part of the elements without a chasm of pain opening at the thought of the loss of our place within it all. I was a part of the whole. I didn't need to own a patch of land to make that so. I could stand in the wind and I was the wind, the rain, the sea; it was all me, and I was nothing within it. The core of me wasn't lost. Translucent, elusive, but there and growing stronger with every headland. ~ Raynor Winn
Legion Lost quotes by Raynor Winn
Tolkien preferred the still, small voice of Elijah to the resounding horns of Sinai. Accordingly, his commitment to myth as his medium was dogged. He repeatedly denied that The Lord of the Rings was allegory. The reason is this: allegory intends that this particular thing in the story is meant to be that particular thing known outside the story. In a way, it is coercive, forcing the reader to see things in a certain way. For example, Lewis's lion in the Narnia books, Aslan, is meant to be understood by the reader as a representation of Christ. Tolkien, in fact, was annoyed with Lewis for engaging in allegory, which he found heavy-handed. (Lewis, for his part, denied that his Narnia books were only allegory.) He believed myth to be a more artistically subtle device. Tolkien did not, for instance, intend his War of the Ring to be a battle of good versus evil. He didn't see matters in such black-and-white terms and did not believe in absolute evil. During the Great War, he didn't view the Germans as all bad and the English as all good. In the Lord of the Rings, even Sauron, like Lucifer, did not start as evil. Evil for Tolkien was a personal battle within each and every individual. A battle might be won or lost, but the war was unending. ~ Wyatt North
Legion Lost quotes by Wyatt North
Ever since I lost Maya in the forest, I hated magic. It swallowed
people whole the way it swallowed my sister. Instead of leaving me a body to mourn, the Otherworld had left me with a chest full of caution and a string of nightmares. ~ Roshani Chokshi
Legion Lost quotes by Roshani Chokshi
Lost serie are full of depression I think or there is some kind of like this... I don't know up to where I could get... but I will try my best. ~ Deyth Banger
Legion Lost quotes by Deyth Banger
The leadership of the American Legion has not had a constructive thought for the benefit of this country since 1918. ~ John F. Kennedy
Legion Lost quotes by John F. Kennedy
Little boys jump, but they do not know where. Into the mouth of the demon lair. Hold still and you will see, in his hand is the key. Fire and brimstone. Brimstone and fire. Your ally is clever. a thief and a liar. All is not lost. You can turn it around. But, for a moment...all will be well.....peaceful and sound." Alice. ~ Kathy Cyr
Legion Lost quotes by Kathy Cyr
I didn't deserve this. Even the most confused and lost girl, even the most screwed up of us all, doesn't deserve this. Death isn't the consequence for making a mistake; it's the punishment we force on girls because they couldn't be good. Only girls have to die for wanting. ~ T.E. Carter
Legion Lost quotes by T.E. Carter
I got fame and fortune, and I lost my sense of reasoning. ~ Little Richard
Legion Lost quotes by Little Richard
There is an old Italian proverb about the nature of translation: "Traddutore, traditore!" This means simply, "Translators-traitors!" Of course, as you can see, something is lost in the translation of this pithy expression: there is great similarity in both the spelling and the pronunciation of the original saying, but these get diluted once they are put in English dress. Even the translation of this proverb illustrates its truth! ~ Daniel Wallace
Legion Lost quotes by Daniel Wallace
When I lost you, it was as if all the solid ground dissolved from under my feet. Look at me; I'm a half-drowned man now, hanging onto a wreck. ~ Henrik Ibsen
Legion Lost quotes by Henrik Ibsen
Until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore, you will not know the terror of being forever lost at sea. ~ Charlie Cook
Legion Lost quotes by Charlie Cook
The music surged down the stairs like a flashing stream - it gathered in the corridor and burst like a waterfall through the wide entry doors. It splashed over a small, lonely figure crouching on the lowest step, dark and colorless like an un-moving lump of black, a little hillock with mad, unresting eyes. It was the old man who had freed himself with such difficulty from the unrelenting window. He crouched in the corner, lost and done for, with bowed shoulders and knees drawn high, as though he would never rise again - and over him, and away in gay and flashing cascades, the music splashed and danced, strong, pitiless, unceasing as life itself. ~ Erich Maria Remarque
