A Super-Integral Spirituality has all the features of an Integral Spirituality, plus, among other things, an inherent conjunction of each stage with a given state, giving all of its stages a transpersonal or spiritual flavor (at least the possibility of either gross nature mysticism, subtle deity mysticism, causal formless mysticism, or nondual Unity mysticism). These mystical states are, of course, available to virtually all the lower 1st- and 2nd-tier stages, although there are likely some significant differences in 3rd tier, given its inherent conjunction of structures and states. ~ Ken Wilber
Integral Consciousness quotes by Ken Wilber
An integral approach is based on one basic idea: no human mind can be 100% wrong. Or, we might say, nobody is smart enough to be wrong all the time. And that means, when it comes to deciding which approaches, methodologies, epistemologies, or ways or knowing are "correct," the answer can only be, "All of them." That is, all of the numerous practices or paradigms of human inquiry - including physics, chemistry, hermeneutics, collaborative inquiry, meditation, neuroscience, vision quest, phenomenology, structuralism, subtle energy research, systems theory, shamanic voyaging, chaos theory, developmental psychology - all of those modes of inquiry have an important piece of the overall puzzle of a total existence that includes, among other many things, health and illness, doctors and patients, sickness and healing. ~ Ken Wilber
Integral Consciousness quotes by Ken Wilber
The difference between supermind and Big Mind (if we take Big Mind to mean the state experience of nondual Suchness, or turiyatita) is that Big Mind can be experienced or recognized at virtually any lower level or rung. Magic to Integral. In fact, one can be at, say, the Pluralistic stage, and experience several core characteristics of the entire sequence of state-stages (gross to subtle to causal to Witnessing to Nondual), although, of course, the entire sequence, including nondual Suchness, will be interpreted in Pluralistic terms. This is unfortunate in many ways - interpreting Dharma in merely Pluralistic terms (or Mythic terms, or Rational, and so on) - because it is so ultimately reductionistic; but it happens all the time, given the relative independence of states and structures at 1st and 2nd tier.

Supermind, on the other hand, as a basic structure-rung (conjoined with nondual Suchness) can only be experienced once all the previous junior levels have emerged and developed, and as in all structure development, stages cannot be skipped. Therefore, unlike Big Mind, supermind can only be experienced after all 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-tier junior stages have been passed through. While, as Genpo Roshi has abundantly demonstrated, Big Mind state experience is available to virtually anybody at almost any age (and will be interpreted according to the View of their current stage), supermind is an extremely rare recognition. Supermind, as the highest structure-rung to date ~ Ken Wilber
Integral Consciousness quotes by Ken Wilber
TOLERANCE Neither accept people as they are nor tolerate them. Many people think tolerance is a virtue but tolerance is actually a negative term. If you like something, you do not have to tolerate it. Tolerance indicates a deep sense of dislike that can at any time turn into hatred. It indicates a sense of separateness, small-mindedness, a limitation of consciousness. When you tolerate, it is a temporary state. Tolerance is a potential volcano. If you are tolerating, it means you are just holding on. Acceptance is also negative. You accept that which is not lovable. Tolerance and acceptance come with judgment and separation. Question: "But aren't we supposed to accept people as they are?" If you do not love them, then you have to accept them. I tell you, do not accept people as they are. Just love them as they are. ~ Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
Integral Consciousness quotes by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
To see what they look like, women look at a mirror. To look like what they see, women read magazines. ~ Mokokoma Mokhonoana
Integral Consciousness quotes by Mokokoma Mokhonoana
The dark war consciousness and pride have seized upon the weak, with great cynicisms and glib, soulless intellects, that grind away like robotic gears at what they despise and can never understand. ~ Bryant McGill
Integral Consciousness quotes by Bryant McGill
During this period (of technological confinement / [and language]) the human mind has been placed in its narrowest confines it has experienced since consciousness emerged from its Paleolithic phase. Even the most primitive tribes have a larger vision of the universe, of our place and functioning within it, a vision that extends to celestial regions of space and to interior depths of the human in a manner far exceeding the parameters of our world of technological confinement. ~ Thomas Berry
Integral Consciousness quotes by Thomas Berry
You have discovered the spiritual universe. Many others have discovered this same world, but each must make the discovery for himself. You are going to have a lot of joy sailing around this world of yours. Don't fight the opinions of others, or waste your time arguing over these things. Follow the inward gleam of your consciousness and you will arrive. ~ Ernest Holmes
Integral Consciousness quotes by Ernest Holmes
Teresa [of Avila]'s story dismantles the common belief that all those chosen for sainthood are flawless in personality and character. Indeed, she would want us to consider her contradictions and struggles as integral to her sainthood. ~ Helen LaKelly Hunt
Integral Consciousness quotes by Helen LaKelly Hunt
We human beings are spiritual beings. We have soul. We have spirit. We have mind. We have consciousness. We want fulfillment, we want happiness, we want satisfaction, we want joy. We want imagination. We want art, culture, music. ~ Satish Kumar
Integral Consciousness quotes by Satish Kumar
Of all the things we share, the most central is not in the liturgical or theological or canonical dimensions of the religion. It is in the realm of our personal search and experience of God.
I have danced in a Sufi fikre, sat for hours in a Zen Buddhist tea ceremony, been part of a Hindu puja, attended Shabbat services in multiple Jewish synagogues, and never, in any of those moments of worship, did I doubt these people were just as deeply involved in the search for God as I am. And that God was with us all.

And why not?

God is everywhere, they told us as children. But the question never goes away: Yes, but - where is God for me? I don't feel God. I don't hear God. I don't know how to know God. So God is surely in all these other places where the consciousness of God is also real, as well. But as much as I knew, even as a child, that it had to be true, that God was everywhere, still God was nowhere in particular in life. And, though I did not know it at the time, and so struggled through the thought of god for night after night in life, in that reality was all I needed to know about the search for God.

It was years, of course, before I realized that I was looking for Something rather than for Everything, and so I found nothing because I was looking for the wrong thing. And that is the kind of seeking that causes all the pain. ~ Joan Chittister,
Integral Consciousness quotes by Joan Chittister,
Consciousness is not in the body; the body is in consciousness. And you are that consciousness. ~ Dan Millman
Integral Consciousness quotes by Dan Millman
It is this outer reach of existential abnegation – the moment where subjective identity deserts itself and becomes enslaved without consciousness of its subjugated condition – that Mirbeau consistently sought to decry with horror. ~ Emily Apter
Integral Consciousness quotes by Emily Apter
When your consciousness becomes a still mirror, a still lake, a silent reservoir of energy, God is reflected in it. ~ Rajneesh
Integral Consciousness quotes by Rajneesh
The brain itself does not produce consciousness. That it is, instead, a kind of reducing valve or filter, shifting the larger, nonphysical consciousness that we possess in the non physical worlds down into a more limited capacity for the duration of our mortal lives. ~ Eben Alexander
Integral Consciousness quotes by Eben Alexander
To come across as younger than they are: Women buy creams that promise to slow aging; men buy fast cars. ~ Mokokoma Mokhonoana
Integral Consciousness quotes by Mokokoma Mokhonoana
For ages you have come and gone
courting this delusion.
For ages you have run from the pain
and forfeited the ecstasy.
So come, return to the root of the root
of your own soul.

Although you appear in earthly form
Your essence is pure Consciousness.
You are the fearless guardian
of Divine Light.
So come, return to the root of the root
of your own soul.

When you lose all sense of self
the bonds of a thousand chains will vanish.
Lose yourself completely,
Return to the root of the root
of your own soul.

You descended from Adam, by the pure Word of God,
but you turned your sight
to the empty show of this world.
Alas, how can you be satisfied with so little?
So come, return to the root of the root
of your own soul.

Why are you so enchanted by this world
when a mine of gold lies within you?
Open your eyes and come ---
Return to the root of the root
of your own soul.

You were born from the rays of God's Majesty
when the stars were in their perfect place.
How long will you suffer from the blows
of a nonexistent hand?
So come, return to the root of the root
of your own soul.

You are a ruby encased in granite.
How long will you decieve Us with this outer show?
O friend, We can see the truth in your eyes!
So come, return to the root of the root
of your own soul.
Rumi
Integral Consciousness quotes by Rumi
Leave in a complex state of slumber
Your consciousness of science.
Look At your white face in the wine's red mirror
And then drink the mirror ... and your consciousness ~ Fernando Pessoa
Integral Consciousness quotes by Fernando Pessoa
You should do whatever feels right in your deepest heart. Feel deep as consciousness, open as water, now, and feel how to live with a wide-open heart. Feel how to live as love without bondage. ~ David Deida
Integral Consciousness quotes by David Deida
Life is not a discrete phenomenon it is a part of an intelligent cosmic field. It is a cosmic dance. ~ Amit Ray
Integral Consciousness quotes by Amit Ray
Know this: If you are afraid of starting over, it means you have not yet begun. ~ Tehya Sky
Integral Consciousness quotes by Tehya Sky
Everything which endures can
only do so because Eternal
Consciousness gives it sentience. ~ Vimala McClure
Integral Consciousness quotes by Vimala McClure
An unawakened person sees only his mind, which is merely a reflection of the light of pure consciousness arising from the Heart. ~ Ramana Maharshi
Integral Consciousness quotes by Ramana Maharshi
The reduction of experience to 'a series of pure and unrelated presents' further implies that the 'experience of the present becomes powerfully, overwhelmingly vivid and "material": the world comes before the schizophrenic with heightened intensity, bearing the mysterious and oppressive charge of affect, glowing with hallucinatory energy' (Jameson, 1984b, 120). The image, the appearance, the spectacle can all be experienced with an intensity (joy or terror) made possible only by their appreciation as pure and unrelated presents in time. So what does it matter 'if the world thereby momentarily loses its depth and threatens to become a glossy skin, a stereoscopic illusion, a rush of filmic images without destiny?' (Jameson, 1984b). The immediacy of events, the sensationalism of the spectacle (political, scientific, military, as well as those of entertainment), become the stuff of which consciousness is forged. ~ David Harvey
Integral Consciousness quotes by David Harvey
Consciousness shakes off the littleness of being and finds the infinite space in which all things have a place. Be in your universality. ~ Mooji
Integral Consciousness quotes by Mooji
What am I doing on a level of consciousness where this is real? That is the first question to ask yourself when you become aware of something ugly or evil or stupid. ~ Thaddeus Golas
Integral Consciousness quotes by Thaddeus Golas
As each of us awakens, it impacts human consciousness at a collective level. It is like dropping a tiny pebble of light into a dark pool of unconsciousness . Ripples of light! ~ Leonard Jacobson
Integral Consciousness quotes by Leonard Jacobson
By whatever name one calls it, genuine creativity is characterized by an intensity of awareness, a heightened consciousness. ~ Rollo May
Integral Consciousness quotes by Rollo May
In England, where I come from, fashion and music go hand in hand. They're integral to each other. ~ Don Letts
Integral Consciousness quotes by Don Letts
For how can any human be separate from humanity and humanness? ~ Kamand Kojouri
Integral Consciousness quotes by Kamand Kojouri
Begin to view the past as something that can never be changed, despite how you feel about it. It's over! And any guilt that you choose will not make the past different. Emblazon this sentence on your consciousness. "My feeling guilty will not change the past, nor will it make me a better person." This sort of thinking will help you to differentiate guilt from learning as a result of your past. ~ Wayne W. Dyer
Integral Consciousness quotes by Wayne W. Dyer
Without the consciousness of guilt, existence had become so bland in Paradise that Eve welcomed the pungency of Original Sin. ~ Richard Condon
Integral Consciousness quotes by Richard Condon
There is ascension to potential that Plato couldn't conceive while prescribing idealism to conception as highest existences. With Streams, there isn't a difference between ideas and instantiations. They are both authenticated within all possibilities in Stream, within the Primal Cause as ordered. Ideas as ordered constructs in consciousness, instantiations as ordered effects.
Instantiations for instance are ordered products from ideas. Ideas are ordered constructs in consciousness. And in authentication, they are the same as external effects. ~ Dew Platt
Integral Consciousness quotes by Dew Platt
Find a teacher who is an integral being, a beacon who extends his light and virtue with equal ease to those who appreciate him and those who don't. Shape yourself in his mold, bathe in his nourishing radiance, and reflect it out to the rest of the world. ~ Laozi
Integral Consciousness quotes by Laozi
Materialism is the consciousness of wanting to exploit and enjoy. ~ Radhanath Swami
Integral Consciousness quotes by Radhanath Swami
Hypostatized into a ritual pattern, Marxian theory becomes ideology. But its content and function distinguish it from classical forms of ideology; it is not false consciousness, but a rather consciousness of falsehood, a falsehood which is corrected in the context of the higher truth represented by the objective historical interest. ~ Herbert Marcuse
Integral Consciousness quotes by Herbert Marcuse
Our great thoughts, our great affections, the truths of our life, never leave us. Surely they can not separate from our consciousness, shall follow it whithersoever that shall go, and are of their nature divine and immortal. ~ William Makepeace Thackeray
Integral Consciousness quotes by William Makepeace Thackeray
Once you have given up your limited self willingly to the Unlimited, you will rejoice so much in that consciousness that you will not care to be small again. ~ Hazrat Inayat Khan
Integral Consciousness quotes by Hazrat Inayat Khan
His soul was sensitive without being enthusiastic: it was too languid to thrill out of self-consciousness into passionate delight; it went on fluttering in the swampy ground where it was hatched, thinking of its wings and never flying. His experience was of that pitiable kind which shrinks from pity, and fears most of all that is should be known: it was that proud narrow sensitiveness which has not mass enough to spare for transformation into sympathy, and quivers threadlike in small currents of self-preoccupation or at best of an egoistic scrupulosity. ~ George Eliot
Integral Consciousness quotes by George Eliot
You can't separate adaptability from evolution ~ Thabiso Monkoe
Integral Consciousness quotes by Thabiso Monkoe
We have begun to contemplate our origins: starstuff pondering the stars; organized assemblages of ten billion billion billion atoms considering the evolution of atoms; tracing the long journey by which, here at least, consciousness arose. ~ Carl Sagan
Integral Consciousness quotes by Carl Sagan

Integral Consciousness quotes by Michael Tsarion
Introspection makes our conscious motives and strategies transparent to us, while we have no sure means of deciphering them in others. Yet we never genuinely know our true selves. We remain largely ignorant of the actual unconscious determinants of our behavior, and therefore we cannot accurately predict what our behavior will be in circumstances beyond the safety zone of our past experience. The Greek motto "Know thyself," when applied to the minute details of our behavior, remains an inaccessible ideal. Our "self" is just a database that gets filled in through our social experiences, in the same format with which we attempt to understand other minds, and therefore it is just as likely to include glaring gaps, misunderstandings, and delusions. ~ Stanislas Dehaene
Integral Consciousness quotes by Stanislas Dehaene
Movements are most powerful when they begin to affect the vision and perspective of those who do not necessarily associate themselves with those movements. ~ Angela Y. Davis
Integral Consciousness quotes by Angela Y. Davis
Most people go through life thinking God never speaks to them when in fact He's always speaking. To everyone. Always directing. Sometimes warning. Sometimes affirming. But we hear so little of what He says because our consciousness of His voice is obscured by our mental static. ~ Steven Furtick
Integral Consciousness quotes by Steven Furtick
Sufis aim to refine human consciousness. This is Sufi mysticism: not mystification or magic, but a specific Path. ~ Idries Shah
Integral Consciousness quotes by Idries Shah
It is not advisable for persons who are in the early stages of meditation to mediate on the two lower chakras. You will unleash powers and forces that will throw you into very powerful altered state of consciousness that might not be pleasant at all. ~ Frederick Lenz
Integral Consciousness quotes by Frederick Lenz
I think Willa Cather did a short story called "Paul's Case," and in it, when he finally commits suicide, it says, "He surrendered to the black design of things." And that's what I anticipate death will be: a totally unconscious void in which you float through eternity with no particular consciousness of anything. I think once around is enough. I don't want to start it all over again. ~ Rod Serling
