But l'm good at being uncomfortable
So I can't stop changing all the time. ~ Fiona Apple
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Fiona Apple
How can you consider flower power outdated? The essence of my lyrics is the desire for peace and harmony. That's all anyone has ever wanted. How could it become outdated? ~ Robert Plant
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Robert Plant
I still use a lot of cut-ups, I physically cut-up pieces of paper and stick them all together on another piece of paper then I'll think, "Ah, that looks good," or shuffle them around a bit and then I'll photocopy it and then that's my lyrics. ~ Thighpaulsandra
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Thighpaulsandra
I write my lyrics the day I sing the song, so even when I have the basic things, I'm thinking what can I change, what can I add, how many harmonies can I do. ~ Kirk Windstein
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Kirk Windstein
I privilege the music over the lyrics. ~ Duncan Sheik
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Duncan Sheik
You know those people, just so fucking happy to be alive, bouncing down the street, buds in their ears and faces repulsive with pleasure as they belt out the lyrics to some noxious Motown classic. I've gotten bold, bumping them with my enormous bag as I pass by, savoring their outraged "Hey!" behind me. No one gets to be that happy. ~ Jessica Knoll
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Jessica Knoll
And each one there has one thing shared;
They have sweated beneath the same sun,
Look up in wonder at the same moon,
And wept when it was all done,
For being done too soon. ~ -- Neil Diamond.
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by -- Neil Diamond.
Lost in a daydream. ~ Jared Leto
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Jared Leto
If he can't sleep, how will he ever dream? ~ Eddie Vedder
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Eddie Vedder
I think for an artist it's really important to have experiences, and I've had a lot of those. It's definitely inspired my lyrics and my style, even down to what I wear. ~ Neon Hitch
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Neon Hitch
The lyrics are critical of dogmatic belief, too, as I see it in many lifestyles and philosophy religious or otherwise. ~ Mike Scheidt
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Mike Scheidt
I was wasting my life, always thinking about myself. ~ Morrissey
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Morrissey
I had Madonna parties; I dressed like Madonna, and I had all of her records because we had records back then. I knew all of her lyrics; I was obsessed with her movies and the whole thing. ~ Judy Greer
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Judy Greer
Will sat where he was, gazing at the silver bowl in front of him; a white rose was floating in it, and he seemed prepared to stare at it until it went under. In the Kitchen Bridget was still singing one of her awful sad songs; the lyrics drifted in through the door:
"Twas on an evening fair I went to take the air,
I heard a maid making her moan;
Said, 'Saw ye my father? Or ye my mother?
Or saw ye my brother John?
Or saw ye the lad that I love best,
And his name it is Sweet William?"
I may murder her, Tessa thought. Let her make a song about that. ~ Cassandra Clare
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Cassandra Clare
I've always felt that the game itself is pretty much a melody and I am there to provide the lyrics. You want the lyrics to match the melody, because if you are composing a song or recording a song, it's cacophonous if they don't match. ~ Al Michaels
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Al Michaels
What about Monday? That could be our one day we look at things the same way, and wear funny shoes. ~ Kevin Dalton
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Kevin Dalton
That old adage, that "music is a universal language", is really true. Even if all of the lyrics are understood, they seem to connect with it really well and in some ways, more so. ~ William Fitzsimmons
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by William Fitzsimmons
It is perhaps one of those imponderables of life that many people declare their dislike for poetry, yet it surrounds us in the lyrics of the songs and hymns we love, the catchy advertising jingles, in picture books, and remembered snippets from Shakespeare or remembered and much loved verses. " Jeanette O'Hagan 1 May 2017 ~ Jeanette O'Hagan
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Jeanette O'Hagan
Melody is king. Songs are ruled by melody. I believe that melody, more than lyrics, is what does all the heavy lifting emotionally. When I write lyrics, or when I adapt a poem to a song, my goal is to interfere as little as possible with whatever spell is being cast by the melody. At the same time, I hope, at best, that the words enhance the song somehow, add meaning or clarify and underline what the melody is making me feel. ~ Jeff Tweedy
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Jeff Tweedy
My music and my lyrics are essentially emotional postcards. ~ Sarah McLachlan
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Sarah McLachlan
I want people to listen to the lyrics of each song and absorb the music fully before they look at me and make a judgment about what they think my music will or should sound like. ~ Darren Fletcher
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Darren Fletcher
Poppy used to share the room with her older sister, and piles of he sister's outgrown clothes still remained spread out in drifts, along with a collection of used makeup and notebooks covered in stickers and scrawled with lyrics. A jumbled of her sister's old Barbies were on top of a bookshelf, waiting for Poppy to try and fix their melted arms and chopped hair. The bookshelves were overflowing with fantasy paperbacks and overdue library books, some of them on Greek myths, some on mermaids, and a few on local hauntings. The walls were covered in posters-Doctor Who, a cat in a bowler hat, and a giant map of Narnia. ~ Holly Black
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Holly Black
Music is poetry, babe. Each note is a word that's uniquely crafted to go with the next note. For me, the only way it gets better is if you put that to lyrics. You take them apart, any good song tells a story separately, through the music and through the lyrics. What makes it grab you by the balls is when you put them together. ~ Kristen Ashley
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Kristen Ashley
I was totally involved in Bobby's World from the time we started the idea to sitting with the artists on how he would look, to the script meetings, the music, the lyrics, the songs. ~ Howie Mandel
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Howie Mandel
I detest love lyrics. I think one of the causes of bad mental health in the United States is that people have been raised on 'love lyrics'.

You're a young kid and you hear all those 'love lyrics', right? Your parents aren't telling you the truth about love, and you can't really learn about it in school. You're getting the bulk of your 'behaviour norms' mapped out for you in the lyrics to some dumb fucking love song. It's a subconscious training that creates desire for an imaginary situation which will never exist for you. People who buy into that mythology go through life feeling that they got cheated out of something.

What I think is very cynical about some rock and roll songs -- especially today -- is the way they say: "Let's make love." What the fuck kind of wussy says shit like that in the real world? You ought to be able to say "Let's go fuck", or at least "Let's go fill-in-the-blank" -- but you gotta say "Let's make love" in order to get on the radio. This creates a semantic corruption, by changing the context in which the word 'love' is used in the song.

When they get into drooling about love as a 'romantic concept' -- especially in the lyrics of sensitive singer/songwriter types -- that's another shove in the direction of bad mental health.

Fortunately, lyrics over the last five or six years have gotten to be less and less important, with 'art rock groups' and new wavers specializing in 'nonjudgemental' or 'purposely inconse ~ Frank Zappa
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Frank Zappa
It's difficult for me to describe my own music; every song is an experience that I set to music. There's no lyrics, no singer, just instruments, but I'm sure you can feel what the song is talking about just by listen to it. I can't describe a feeling, my songs are feelings. ~ Marilou
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Marilou
I think it was T.S. Eliot who talked about good poetry being felt before it's understood. I believe that. There are some bands where I love their lyrics but I don't have a clue what they're on about. ~ Marcus Mumford
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Marcus Mumford
[ELIZA]
You and your words flooded my senses, your sentences left me defenseless. You built me palaces out of paragraphs, you built cathedrals. ~ Lin-Manuel Miranda
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Lin-Manuel Miranda
I tend to start with a full set of lyrics, and then my producer, Joel Little, and I work on the music collaboratively. ~ Lorde
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Lorde
Tried living in the real world instead of a shell, but I was bored before I even began. ~ Morrissey
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Morrissey
I don't have the memories that she does, and a particular set of lyrics can't open a box inside of me where memories curl out like wisps of smoke. ~ Megan Jacobson
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Megan Jacobson
I made the decision to quit show business. Give up the skintight dresses and manicured smiles. The false concern over sentimental lyrics. I would never again work to make people smile inanely and would take on the responsibility of making them think. ~ Maya Angelou
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Maya Angelou
If a psychiatrist would analyze [the lyrics], I'm sure they'd come up with something interesting. I really don't try to twist them. I don't want to slash things. ~ Victoria Legrand
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Victoria Legrand
I never really liked poetry readings; I liked to read poetry by myself, but I liked singing, chanting my lyrics to this jazz group. ~ Leonard Cohen
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Leonard Cohen
One more thing: the regime is a show that conceals what in reality is chaos. What looks orderly and restrictive is in fact disorganized and inefficient. Obviously, this does not lead to order. On the contrary, people feel acutely lost, in time and space among other things. As everywhere in the country, a person does not know where to go with a particular problem. So he goes to the head of the detention facility. That's like taking your problem to Putin outside of jail. When we describe the system in our lyrics - I guess you could say we are not really opposed - We are in opposition to Putinist chaos, which is a regime in name only. When ~ Masha Gessen
Buckcherry Lyrics quotes by Masha Gessen
I'll be so quiet for you.
Look like a child for you.
Be like a shadow of a shadow
Of a shadow for you. ~ Mike Hadreas
