A woman who no longer cares about how she looks has given up on more than fashion – she's given up on life. ~ Kathleen Tessaro
Women S Outlook quotes by Kathleen Tessaro
The Milesians won the battle by merely telling women that they did not belong to the same species as men, & thus there was no battle to be fought. For, the ability to mate & produce offspring together is a modern definition, unknown during Milesian times. And thus, the Milesians told women that men, being descendants of Prometheus & Epimetheus, the cousins of Zeus, the King of the Gods, were Gods. Whilst, women, being the descendants of Pandora, were playthings, made of clay, for men`s pleasure just as Pandora herself was.[INTRO] ~ Nicholas Chong
Women S Outlook quotes by Nicholas Chong
You are first and foremost a person. A reckless, foolish person, but a person nonetheless. If I ever say you are not permitted to do something, rest assured that the last reason I would ever say so would be because you are a girl. ~ Renee Ahdieh
Women S Outlook quotes by Renee Ahdieh
I felt so much more than horror. I was so afraid, shocked by what I saw. There were hundreds of men, women and children hanging from the trees ... there was blood everywhere! We all saw that every person had been gutted, like a fish. My instinct was to run, but where to ... I was on a train. As I watched those around me on the train, so many others also looked like they had explosions in their eyes and they too wanted to flee. ~ Alfred Nestor
Women S Outlook quotes by Alfred Nestor
Also the fact that he's a guy. A girl screws around like Lotto and she's like diseased. Untouchable. But a guy can stick it to a million places and everyone just thinks he's doing what boys do. ~ Lauren Groff
Women S Outlook quotes by Lauren Groff
When women turn on women, and take cheap shots at their decisions purely to score political points it serves as proof that feminism, as a movement, is dead and no longer relevant or credible. ~ S. E. Cupp
Women S Outlook quotes by S. E. Cupp
The first woman you need to make friends with is yourself. ~ Helen Edwards
Women S Outlook quotes by Helen Edwards
Every family has secrets, Reena, and they're there for a reason. ~ Renita D'Silva
Women S Outlook quotes by Renita D'Silva
Napoleon, who had an aversion to the moral laxity of the eighteenth century, which he blamed on the domination of society by women, was determined to reform family life on Roman, or perhaps rather on Corsican, principles. It was with him, not with Queen Victoria, that Victorian morality originated. ~ J. Christopher Herold
Women S Outlook quotes by J. Christopher Herold
Peace is the number one beautiful ornament you can wear, I really believe that. They say you should always wear a smile, but I don't believe that you should "always" wear a smile, seriously, you're going to look stupid! But peace, you should always carry peace within you, its the most beautifying thing you could ever have or do. Peace makes your heart beautiful and it makes you look beautiful, too. You want to have perfect physical posture when you stand, sit, and walk, and peace is the perfect posture of the soul, really. Try perfect posture outside as well as inside. Peace creates grace and grace gives peace. ~ C. JoyBell C.
Women S Outlook quotes by C. JoyBell C.
Of course we women gossip on occasion. But our appetite for it is not as avid as a man s. It is in the boys gyms, the college fraternity houses, the club locker rooms, the paneled offices of business that gossip reaches its luxuriant flower. ~ Phyllis McGinley
Women S Outlook quotes by Phyllis McGinley
Real Men can commit to 1 person. Only boys are "Players", pimps usually get lock up or die at the end of movies, & dogs catch fleas! ~ Surgeo Bell
Women S Outlook quotes by Surgeo Bell
In the 2013 Economists Program, we hired 51 percent women, 49 percent men. And the reason for that is that we have a draft from all over the world, and we've hired, for instance, in that group, a good number of Chinese economists - highly qualified, all Ph.D.s from the best universities of the world. And guess what? They're all women. ~ Christine Lagarde
Women S Outlook quotes by Christine Lagarde
Is our Heaven your God, and is your God our Heaven?' she inquired.
'They are one and the same,' he replied ...
'There is only one true God. He has many names.'
'Then anywhere upon the round earth, by whatever seas, those who believe in any God believe in the One?' she asked.
'And so are brothers,' he said, agreeing.
'And if I do not believe in any?' she inquired willfully.
'God is patient,' he said. 'God waits. Is there not eternity?'
page 206 Pavilion of Women ~ Pearl S. Buck
Women S Outlook quotes by Pearl S. Buck
That‟s because we don‟t have any weaknesses. We‟re perfect."
She rolled her eyes. "Give me a break. If you‟re so perfect, how come your gender hasn‟t figured out a way to have children on yourown. Then you could free yourself from the weaker sex. ~ Susan Mallery
Women S Outlook quotes by Susan Mallery
A Medical Affair is more than compelling fiction. It also is a powerful narrative about how relationships between physicians and patients can evolve in unethical, even unlawful ways. And as a medical ethicist and educator, I was delighted to see Strauss deftly weave important information about sexual misconduct by physicians into her story line."
David Orentlicher
Professor of law, medicine and ethics at Indiana University. Oversaw drafting of American Medical Association's ethical guidelines on intimate relationships between physicians and their patients ~ Anne McCarthy Strauss
Women S Outlook quotes by Anne McCarthy Strauss
He fits me without a flaw. At the beginning, I was apprehensive that he might swallow me whole and I'd disappear for having him. After the time spent together, I'm certain that Colton is the day to my night. And we both have the same value, power, control, individuality and independency. No one disappears. We are like an equinox. Just like the day moves into the night and then night into day, we both complete each other and build a partnership. We are two different entities co-existing superbly, letting each other be but never leaving each other's side. ~ Kristina Steiner
Women S Outlook quotes by Kristina Steiner
In the room the women come and go talking of Michelangelo. ~ T. S. Eliot
Women S Outlook quotes by T. S. Eliot
Because the Legs wasn't fearful of heights or swimming in rough water or Death itself she wasn't afraid to risk making a fool of herself. Maybe you think that's something of no consequence but it isn't - for making a fool of yourself, offering yourself to others to laugh at, to jeer, that takes guts. ~ Joyce Carol Oates
Women S Outlook quotes by Joyce Carol Oates
[A]s people are beginning to see that the sexes form in a certain sense a continuous group, so they are beginning to see that Love and Friendship which have been so often set apart from each other as things distinct are in reality closely related and shade imperceptibly into each other. Women are beginning to demand that Marriage shall mean Friendship as well as Passion; that a comrade-like Equality shall be included in the word Love; and it is recognised that from the one extreme of a 'Platonic' friendship (generally between persons of the same sex) up to the other extreme of passionate love (generally between persons of opposite sex) no hard and fast line can at any point be drawn effectively separating the different kinds of attachment. We know, in fact, of Friendships so romantic in sentiment that they verge into love; we know of Loves so intellectual and spiritual that they hardly dwell in the sphere of Passion. ~ Edward Carpenter
Women S Outlook quotes by Edward Carpenter
Authenticity is the sine qua non of everything that matters. When you encounter someone unguarded, without artifice or pretense--Mon Dieu!--you know it. I compare it to being at the top of the mountain: the air is clearer, there's nothing to muddy the senses. It's bracingly refreshing. ~ Ellen Lubin-Sherman
Women S Outlook quotes by Ellen Lubin-Sherman
The surest guide to the correctness of the path that women take is joy in the struggle. Revolution is the festival of the oppressed. For a long time there may be no perceptible reward for women other than their new sense of purpose and integrity. Joy does not mean riotous glee, but it does mean the purposive employment of energy in a self-chosen enterprise. It does mean pride and confidence. It does mean communication and cooperation with others based on delight in their company and your own. To be emancipated from helplessness and need and walk freely upon the earth that is your birthright. To refuse hobbles and deformity and take possession of your body and glory in its power, accepting its own laws of loveliness. To have something to desire, something to make, something to achieve, and at last something genuine to give. To be freed from guilt and shame and the tireless self-discipline of women. To stop pretending and dissembling, cajoling and manipulating, and begin to control and sympathize. To claim the masculine virtues of magnanimity and generosity and courage. It goes much further than equal pay for equal work, for it ought to revolutionise the conditions of work completely. It does not understand the phrase 'equality of opportunity', for it seems that the opportunities will have to be utterly changed and women's souls changed so that they desire opportunity instead of shrinking from it. ~ Germaine Greer
Women S Outlook quotes by Germaine Greer
When girls see women in leadership roles speaking out for what they believe in, they see it is possible for them, too. Instead of a faraway dream, their aspirations become real, concrete and achievable. Womanhood starts to look more inviting. ~ Tabby Biddle
Women S Outlook quotes by Tabby Biddle
If women die in childbed, that does no harm. It is what they were made for. ~ Martin Luther
Women S Outlook quotes by Martin Luther
Its the same everywhere. If you want big grief, look to the ladies. ~ Terry Pratchett
Women S Outlook quotes by Terry Pratchett
Just as there is no warning for childbirth, there is no preparation for the sight of a first child ... There should be a song for women to sing at this moment, or a prayer to recite. But perhaps there is none because there are no words strong enough to name the moment. ~ Anita Diamant
Women S Outlook quotes by Anita Diamant
It is a merciful provision my dears, for it takes three or four women to get each man into, through, and out of the world. You are costly creatures, boys, and it is well that mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters love their duty and do it so well, or you would perish off the face of the earth,' said Mrs. Jo solemnly ... ~ Louisa May Alcott
Women S Outlook quotes by Louisa May Alcott
I hear myself saying these words: What this movement is about is options. I say it to friends who are frustrated, or housebound, or guilty, or child-laden, and what I'm really thinking is, If you really got it together, the option you would choose is mine. ~ Nora Ephron
Women S Outlook quotes by Nora Ephron
Sitting with Ricki [Abrams], talking with Ricki, I made a vow to her: that I would use everything I knew, including from prostitution, to make the women`s movement stronger and better; that I`d give my life to the movement and for the movement. I promised to honour-bound to the well-being of women, to do anything necessary for that well-being. I promised to live and to die if need be for women. I made that vow some thirty years ago, and I have not betrayed it yet. ~ Andrea Dworkin
Women S Outlook quotes by Andrea Dworkin
She realized, when relationships failed to last, it was not because love was no longer present, but because people had stopped believing in themselves and in their partners. ~ Christina Westover
Women S Outlook quotes by Christina Westover
Ben's dead," he says not moving or breaking his stare.

"And?"

"Just thought you should know," he says, looking at me in the eyes like he's waiting for me to confess.

"Thanks for waking me up to share the information," I tell him. "Where's Venessa?"

"At home," he says. "Needed to see you first, alone."

"Quit looking at me like that, partner," I tell him. "I ain't left this floor all night." Which isn't a lie. Ben's room is on this floor, but he doesn't know I know that.

"Even if you did, you know I wouldn't - "

"Partner," I tell him straight, letting him figure it out. "I didn't shut off his life support."

After he blinks several times he gives me that smirk. He looks around me to my sleeping wife and then back at me and tells me straight, too. "Go back to sleep partner. You look like shit."

With that he gets up and walks out.

Staring at the door he walks out of, I smile. He gets it. Turns out the staff at that front desk got it, too. They didn't stop my wife from doing what she needed to do; seems like they had other shit going at that time. Heard through the grapevine one of the women taken and held by Ben happened to work on this very floor. It also turns out the coffee pot wasn't working and it was an all hands on deck kinda thing to get it fixed. I get it, the women need their coffee. They also didn't run to his aid until I had my wife safe back in her bed. Those ~ K.S. Adkins
Women S Outlook quotes by K.S. Adkins
Most people don't wear glasses in the U.S., and we're not conditioned to finding men and women who wear glasses sexy. If you need your glasses to see, find a good optometrist who can outfit you with a great frame, thin lenses, and a high-quality anti-reflective coating. ~ Amy Webb
Women S Outlook quotes by Amy Webb
Woman is a delicate creature with strong emotions who has been created by the Almighty God to shoulder responsibility for educating society and moving toward perfection. God created woman as symbol of His own beauty and to give solace to her partner and her family. ~ Hazrat Ali Ibn Abu-Talib A.S
Women S Outlook quotes by Hazrat Ali Ibn Abu-Talib A.S
One can abort a potential child, but this will not harm the soul, who will seek another more appropriate time or person. Thus, abortion is not an issue for souls; it is more painful for the women on earth, and usually this anguish is more entwined with belief and conditioning than many realize. When I have come across a sad or upset soul in the womb, it is most often due to the parent(s) not wanting the child but having it (the burden) anyway. This is hurtful, and even damaging. We all want to be welcomed, to be loved, wanted and cherished. ~ Stephen Poplin
Women S Outlook quotes by Stephen Poplin
Its history is an especially rich and intriguing one for women: the great salons of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries gave women an intellectual influence and freedom; in the nineteenth century, for the bohemian and the flâneuse pleasure and revolution were a seductive mix; in the mid-twentieth century, Paris spelled freedom for Simone de Beauvoir who set the standard for contemporary feminism in her exhilarating The Second Sex. ~ Catherine Cullen
Women S Outlook quotes by Catherine Cullen
She'd discovered the beginnings of her adult person, her preference for lucidity, prudence, responsibility, and restraint. Tranquility could be eked from boredom, results from hard work. ~ V.S. Kemanis
Women S Outlook quotes by V.S. Kemanis
How do you circumvent a mind bent upon lying to get away from the truth? ~ Noorilhuda
Women S Outlook quotes by Noorilhuda
Perhaps in the stillness of a summer night they will feel compelled to walk barefoot down a moonlit country
road and search for the magic that connects all beings in the Circle of Life. ~ Autumn Morning Star
