Baine was controlling her passion, curbing it from a destructive wild-natured thing, to something beautiful and wonderful. For the countless time since his arrival, Ivy found herself not caring about anything else. All she wanted was for the mouth dance to continue. Forever. ~ Shirley Bourget
Tattoo Story quotes by Shirley Bourget
A tattoo is art and not a possession as love is beauty and intangible. A tattoo is a promise, not an accessory. ~ Danielle Valenilla
Tattoo Story quotes by Danielle Valenilla
'The Story of Us' is about running into someone I had been in a relationship with at an awards show, and we were seated a few seats away from each other. I just wanted to say to him, 'Is this killing you? Because it's killing me.' But I didn't. Because I couldn't. Because we both had these silent shields up. ~ Taylor Swift
Tattoo Story quotes by Taylor Swift
With Mom's story, my perception of my parents underwent a series of rapid changes, the way letters on an eye exam do when the doctor flips the lenses - clear, then blurred, sharp, then back to incomprehensible fuzz. ~ Julie Buntin
Tattoo Story quotes by Julie Buntin
I see a kind of thirst in her expression, the same one I saw when she told me about her brother in the back room of the tattoo parlor. Before the attack simulation I might have called it a thirst for justice, or even revenge, but now I am able to identify it as a thirst for blood. And even as it frightens me, I understand it.
Which should probably frighten me even more. ~ Veronica Roth
Tattoo Story quotes by Veronica Roth
Okay you guys need the dope on the real story of the princess and the frog...So once upon a time a beautiful independent confident princess came upon a frog sitting by a pond. The frog said to the princess 'I was once a handsome prince until an evil Witch put a spell on me.'...So the smart-assed frog said 'If you will just kiss me I will turn back into a prince. And then you'll marry me move into the castle with my mother and you can cook for me and clean my clothes have my children and live happy ever after while I go rescue a damsel in distress'...Later that night the princess laughed as she sat down to dinner. 'I don't think so ' she said and dug hungrily into her plate of frog's legs. And she lived happily ever after. ~ Phyllis Curott
Tattoo Story quotes by Phyllis Curott
Any carefully planned thing destroys the creativity. You can't think your way through a story; you have to live it. So, you don't build a story; you allow it to explode. ~ Ray Bradbury
Tattoo Story quotes by Ray Bradbury
The truth, or success, of any writer's story lies partly in its specificity and its emotional honesty. ~ Gail Caldwell
Tattoo Story quotes by Gail Caldwell
You have to pay attention to the moments when you've felt on top on the world. I remember the first time I was on stage, I was doing 'West Side Story,' I was 17 and this woman was crying because she liked what I was doing so much. ~ Sebastian Stan
Tattoo Story quotes by Sebastian Stan
Everyone‟s got a story and everyone thinks theirs is worth telling and worth listening to. ~ Alice Walsh
Tattoo Story quotes by Alice Walsh
Story is a yearning meeting an obstacle. ~ Robert Olen Butler
Tattoo Story quotes by Robert Olen Butler
I want to tell you a story. I have no other vanity. ~ Mario Puzo
Tattoo Story quotes by Mario Puzo
And so my prayer is that your story will have involved some leaving and some coming home, some summer and some winter, some roses blooming out like children in a play. My hope is your story will be about changing, about getting something beautiful born inside of you about learning to love a woman or a man, about learning to love a child, about moving yourself around water, around mountains, around friends, about learning to love others more than we love ourselves, about learning oneness as a way of understanding God. We get one story, you and I, and one story alone. God has established the elements, the setting and the climax and the resolution. It would be a crime not to venture out, wouldn't it?

It might be time for you to go. It might be time to change, to shine out.

I want to repeat one word for you:
Leave.

Roll the word around on your tongue for a bit. It is a beautiful word, isn't it? So strong and forceful, the way you have always wanted to be. And you will not be alone. You have never been alone. Don't worry. Everything will still be here when you get back. It is you who will have changed. ~ Donald Miller
Tattoo Story quotes by Donald Miller
A short story I have written long ago would barge into my house in the middle of the night, shake me awake and shout, 'Hey,this is no time for sleeping! You can't forget me, there's still more to write!' Impelled by that voice, I would find myself writing a novel. In this sense, too, my short stories and novels connect inside me in a very natural, organic way. ~ Haruki Murakami
Tattoo Story quotes by Haruki Murakami
In life one of Midnight's favourite movies had been It's a Wonderful Life, a touching story where a man called George Bailey is shown how poor the world would have been if he'd never existed, but now the young ghost of Midnight Merlot was sat imagining himself not as the kind hero of his own narrative, but, - but as the anti-George. ~ Tom Conrad
Tattoo Story quotes by Tom Conrad
I wonder what it is that the people who criticize me for telling this story truly object to: is it that I have dared to tell the story? Or that the story turns out not to be the one they wanted to hear? ~ Joyce Maynard
Tattoo Story quotes by Joyce Maynard
I wanted to make a more Romanesque film that told a story over a long period of time - this one spans 45 years. I had a great desire to make another musical, but this time I wanted to be more ambitious. ~ Christophe Honore
Tattoo Story quotes by Christophe Honore
Waiting for you is like waiting for rain in this drought. Useless and disappointing." ~ Sam (Hilary Duff), A Cinderella Story ~ Hilary Duff
Tattoo Story quotes by Hilary Duff
If you were given a book with the story of your life, would you read the end? ~ Natasha Friend
Tattoo Story quotes by Natasha Friend
Finally, Europe's post-war history is a story shadowed by silences; by absence. The continent of Europe was once an intricate, interwoven tapestry of overlapping languages, religions, communities and nations. Many of its cities - particularly the smaller ones at the intersection of old and new imperial boundaries, such as Trieste, Sarajevo, Salonika, Cernovitz, Odessa or Vilna - were truly multicultural societies avant le mot, where Catholics, Orthodox, Muslims, Jews and others lived in familiar juxtaposition. We should not idealise this old Europe. What the Polish writer Tadeusz Borowski called 'the incredible, almost comical melting-pot of peoples and nationalities sizzling dangerously in the very heart of Europe' was periodically rent with riots, massacres and pogroms - but it was real, and it survived into living memory.
Between 1914 and 1945, however, that Europe was smashed into the dust. The tidier Europe that emerged, blinking, into the second half of the twentieth century had fewer loose ends. Thanks to war, occupation, boundary adjustments, expulsions and genocide, almost everybody now lived in their own country, among their own people. For forty years after World War Two Europeans in both halves of Europe lived in hermetic national enclaves where surviving religious or ethnic minorities the Jews in France, for example - represented a tiny percentage of the population at large and were thoroughly integrated into its cultural and political mainstream. Only Yugos ~ Tony Judt
Tattoo Story quotes by Tony Judt
A good part of the physical attraction [between the hero and heroine of a romance novel] comes to life during these exchanges as well, since language creates a meeting of the minds. I have long thought that these lines of dialogue carve out the lines of the central love relationship. The dialogue between the hero and heroine creates the central shape of the story. It is the verbal sculpture. ~ Julie Tetel Andresen
Tattoo Story quotes by Julie Tetel Andresen
This to hear
Would Desdemona seriously incline:
But still the house-affairs would draw her thence:
Which ever as she could with haste dispatch,
She'ld come again, and with a greedy ear
Devour up my discourse: which I observing,
Took once a pliant hour, and found good means
To draw from her a prayer of earnest heart
That I would all my pilgrimage dilate,
Whereof by parcels she had something heard,
But not intentively: I did consent,
And often did beguile her of her tears,
When I did speak of some distressful stroke
That my youth suffer'd. My story being done,
She gave me for my pains a world of sighs:
She swore, in faith, twas strange, 'twas passing strange,
'Twas pitiful, 'twas wondrous pitiful:
She wish'd she had not heard it, yet she wish'd
That heaven had made her such a man: she thank'd me,
And bade me, if I had a friend that loved her,
I should but teach him how to tell my story.
And that would woo her. Upon this hint I spake:
She loved me for the dangers I had pass'd,
And I loved her that she did pity them.
This only is the witchcraft I have used:
Here comes the lady; let her witness it. ~ William Shakespeare
Tattoo Story quotes by William Shakespeare
I try to tell a story musically in a song. ~ Barry White
Tattoo Story quotes by Barry White
I write 3-4 days a week, 4-5 hours at a time (with lots of breaks). My goal is 2000 words when I sit down to write and usually, I hit that, though it can take anywhere from 3-7 hours to get there. I usually know the basics of where the story is going, but the specifics just sort of come to me as I write. ~ Nicholas Sparks
Tattoo Story quotes by Nicholas Sparks
The overriding sense of Tokyo ... is that it is a city devoted to the new, sped up in a subtle but profound way: a postmodern science-fiction story set ten minutes in the future. ~ David Rakoff
Tattoo Story quotes by David Rakoff
You'd think people had better things to gossip about," said Ginny as she sat on the common room floor, leaning against Harry's legs and reading the Daily Prophet. "Three Dementor attacks in a week, and all Romilda Vane does is ask me if it's true you've got a Hippogriff tattooed across your chest."
Ron and Hermione both roared with laughter. Harry ignored them.
What did you tell her?"
I told her it's a Hungarian Horntail," said Ginny, turning a page of the newspaper idly. "Much more macho."
Thanks," said Harry, grinning. "And what did you tell her Ron's got?"
A Pygmy Puff, but I didn't say where. ~ J.K. Rowling
Tattoo Story quotes by J.K. Rowling
The same myths are told in every culture, and they might swap out details, but it's still the same story. It's the same story, but with a different face. ~ Brie Larson
Tattoo Story quotes by Brie Larson
Our decisions become narratives: fated choices that unknowably change the course of the living river. In the present, where decisions and connections are made, Fate waits on the riverbank of Story, leaving us to our mistakes and miracles, because it's our will alone that leads us to one or the other. ~ Gregory David Roberts
Tattoo Story quotes by Gregory David Roberts
Other religions are stories of man's search for God. The Bible is the story of God's search for man. ~ Peter Kreeft
Tattoo Story quotes by Peter Kreeft
Point of view is not something I consciously decide. Almost always, when I come up with a plot I find that the point of view has automatically arrived with it, part and parcel of the story. ~ Anne Tyler
Tattoo Story quotes by Anne Tyler
Wherever forest can develop in a species-appropriate manner, they offer particularly beneficial functions that are legally placed above lumber production in many forest laws. I am talking about respite and recovery. Current discussions between environmental groups and forest users, together with the first encouraging results-such as the forest in Konigsdorf-give hope that in the future forests will continue to live out their hidden lives, and our descendants will still have the opportunity to walk through the trees in wonder. This what this ecosystem achieves: the fullness of life with tens of thousands of species interwoven and interdependent.

And just how important this interconnected global network of forests is to other areas of Nature is made clear by this little story from Japan. Katsuhiko Matsunaga, a marine chemist at the Hokkaido University, discovered that leaves falling into streams and rivers leach acids into the ocean that stimulate growth of plankton, the first and most important building block in the food chain. More fish because of the forest? The researcher encouraged the planting of more trees in coastal areas, which did, in fact, lead to higher yields for fisheries and oyster growers. ~ Peter Wohlleben
Tattoo Story quotes by Peter Wohlleben
Being friends is different from being lovers. It's a sea change. ~ Barbara Delinsky
Tattoo Story quotes by Barbara Delinsky
My father, Fraser, taught me to work hard, laugh often, and keep my word. My mother, Marian, showed me how to think for myself and to use my voice. Together, in our cramped apartment on the South Side of Chicago, they helped me see the value in our story, in my story, in the larger story of our country. Even when it's not pretty or perfect. Even when it's more real than you want it to be. Your story is what you have, what you will always have. It is something to own. ~ Michelle Obama
Tattoo Story quotes by Michelle Obama
Adam Brown's zest for life led him down a few dark alleys and more than one dead end. Kind-hearted and wild, Adam led a life that lacked direction. God, a woman, and the U.S. Navy gave it to him. FEARLESS is a love story ... several love stories: a man for his woman, a warrior for his team, parents for kids, and soldiers for their country. There is no greater love than that a man lay down his life for his friends. Be warned - reading FEARLESS will change the way you see the world. ~ Stu Weber
Tattoo Story quotes by Stu Weber
Neither of us had lived in a house since we were kids; apartments, it turns out, are very different things, psychologically. Houses - especially old and creaky houses - are individuals, somehow; their fronts are faces, their closets are pants pockets. ~ Ben Dolnick
Tattoo Story quotes by Ben Dolnick
Ideally, travel broadens our perspectives personally, culturally, and politically. Suddenly, the palette with which we paint the story of our lives has more colors. ~ Rick Steves
Tattoo Story quotes by Rick Steves
..love is as complex an emotion as exists. There are many reasons why love does not prosper.
.. the waters are perilous, and you would do well to know that, because unlike your novels, not every story has a happy ending. ~ Mary Lydon Simonsen
Tattoo Story quotes by Mary Lydon Simonsen
I remember when John Lasseter called me back in the late 1990s to personally invite me to come be the voice of Barbie in 'Toy Story 2.' ~ Jodi Benson
Tattoo Story quotes by Jodi Benson
The story that I wanna tell is pretty much about the way I grew up. Being bi-racial, growing up in a big city and being an artist. ~ Lenny Kravitz
Tattoo Story quotes by Lenny Kravitz
Towering genius disdains a beaten path ... It sees no distinction in adding story to story ... It scorns to tread in the footsteps of any predecessor, however illustrious. It thirsts and burns for distinction; and, if possible, it will have it ... ~ Abraham Lincoln
Tattoo Story quotes by Abraham Lincoln
Most of all I told this story because I wanted to say something about hope and the absence of it, and how we keep going anyway. About second chances, and how they're sometimes buried amid the dross, even when you're poised for the downhill grade. The narrative can always turn out to be a different story from what you expected. ~ Gail Caldwell
Tattoo Story quotes by Gail Caldwell
Now you know the rest of the story. ~ Paul Harvey
Tattoo Story quotes by Paul Harvey
number of changes she had gone through that day. 'A likely story indeed!' said the Pigeon in a tone of the deepest contempt. 'I've seen a good many little girls in my time, but never one with such a neck as that! No, no! You're a serpent; and there's no use denying it. I suppose you'll be telling me next that you never tasted an egg!' 'I have tasted eggs, certainly, ~ Lewis Carroll
Tattoo Story quotes by Lewis Carroll
It's caring in the intimate ways without a single touch that will break down my walls, my heart carries medals of war, it doesn't know how to love small.
Come with integrity, guts, strength or not at all. ~ Nikki Rowe
Tattoo Story quotes by Nikki Rowe
Jesus was not a theologian. He was God who told stories. ~ Madeleine L'Engle
Tattoo Story quotes by Madeleine L'Engle
He should make you smile...always...and when he makes you cry it should be out of passion! ‪ ~ Brooklyn June
Tattoo Story quotes by Brooklyn June
The man who tells me an indelicate story does me an injury. ~ James Thomas Fields
Tattoo Story quotes by James Thomas Fields
I wish I would have known that there was no need to wait. I went to college. I went to law school. I worked in law and banking, though not for terribly long. But not until I started PayPal did I fully realize that you don't have to wait to start something. So if you're planning to do something with your life, if you have a 10-year plan of how to get there, you should ask: Why can't you do this in 6 months? Sometimes, you have to actually go through the complex, 10-year trajectory. But it's at least worth asking whether that's the story you're telling yourself, or whether that's the reality. ~ Timothy Ferriss
Tattoo Story quotes by Timothy Ferriss
