not noticing that happiness is right at their heels ~ Bertolt Brecht
Noticing You quotes by Bertolt Brecht
As you help those in need, selfishness will fall away. And, without even noticing you will find your own fulfillment. ~ Mata Amritanandamayi
Noticing You quotes by Mata Amritanandamayi
When it seems just the right people are noticing you and your gifting, it is important to realize that it is the Lord who is directing their eyes and not your abilities gaining their attention. Everything we have has been given us from the Lord. ~ Anna Blanc
Noticing You quotes by Anna Blanc
You notice Mr. Hollywood noticing you at the auction this morning? Because I did. I also noticed you noticing him. ~ Jessica R. Patch
Noticing You quotes by Jessica R. Patch
How did I go so long without noticing you, damn it? Why did it take seeing a stupid A on your midterm to make me notice?"
He sounds so genuinely upset that I scoot closer and kiss him. "It doesn't matter. You know me now."
"I do," he says fiercely. ~ Elle Kennedy
Noticing You quotes by Elle Kennedy
If you believe that nobody is noticing you in the society, it means that you forgot the cats! ~ Mehmet Murat Ildan
Noticing You quotes by Mehmet Murat Ildan
Any coincidencce is worth noticing. You can throw it away later if it is only a coincidence. ~ Agatha Christie
Noticing You quotes by Agatha Christie
To attract money, you must focus on wealth. It is impossible to bring more money into your life when you are noticing you do not have enough, because that means you are thinking thoughts that you do not have enough. ~ Rhonda Byrne
Noticing You quotes by Rhonda Byrne
When you live in a condo complex with people next door, I don't know how you can be dead for four months without anybody noticing you not coming and going. ~ Laura Schlessinger
Noticing You quotes by Laura Schlessinger
I can't help noticing you appear to be traveling by yourself." "Yes, it's all the rage. Women looking after themselves. We'll be getting the vote any day, too, from what I hear. ~ James Robinson
Noticing You quotes by James Robinson
I think inspiration is always around; it's just a question of whether or not you're noticing it. ~ John Green
Noticing You quotes by John Green
I love all the attention, people noticing me. 'There's the gymnast. There she is!' ~ Gabby Douglas
Noticing You quotes by Gabby Douglas
My wife and I tend to overgift to our kids at Christmas. We laugh and feel foolish when a kid is so distracted with one toy that we must force them into opening the next, or when something grand goes completely unnoticed in a corner. How consumerist, right? How crassly American. How like God. We are all that overwhelmed kid, not even noticing our heartbeats, not even noticing our breathing, not even noticing that our fingertips can feel and pick things up, that pie smells like pie and that our hangnails heal and that honey-crisp apples are real and that dogs wag their tails and that awe perpetually awaits us in the sky. The real yearning, the solomonic state of mind, is caused by too much gift, by too many things to love in too short a time. Because the more we are given, the more we feel the loss as we are all made poor and sent back to our dust. ~ N.D. Wilson
Noticing You quotes by N.D. Wilson
Only after the rise of the Nazi party and the atrocities of the Holocaust was racial science widely rejected. Subsequently, many earlier proponents of racial science began to retract or modify the claims of their previous work, and by the end of World War II, scholarly interest in race had shifted from "proving" the science of race to challenging its ontology and examining the root of racial prejudice. Then, in the 1960s, as the civil rights movement drew widespread visibility to southern racism, many Whites attempted to distance themselves from the image of the "mean racist" by abandoning any mention of race altogether. This was especially the case with respect to whiteness. Having thoroughly identified whiteness with White supremacists, many Whites simply stopped thinking of themselves as White. They crafted a color-blind racial ideology that reinforced the idea that noticing, acknowledging, or talking about race was undesirable. Likewise, noticing, acknowledging, or talking about racism was also undesirable. ~ Chanequa Walker-Barnes
Noticing You quotes by Chanequa Walker-Barnes
Somehow, without noticing, Mosca had become old enough to hear about such things. ~ Frances Hardinge
Noticing You quotes by Frances Hardinge
What is needed, then, is continuous agitation produced artificially even when nothing in the events of the day justifies or arouses excitement. Therefore, continuing propaganda must slowly create a climate first, and then prevent the individual from noticing a particular propaganda operation in contrast to ordinary daily events. ~ Jacques Ellul
Noticing You quotes by Jacques Ellul
What I couldn't help noticing was that I learned more about the novel in a morning by trying to write a page of one than I'd learned in seven years or so of trying to write criticism. ~ Philip Pullman
Noticing You quotes by Philip Pullman
Whether it was the power of suggestion or whether her eyes really hadn't deceived her, I began noticing too that my face was occasionally going rogue the rest of the afternoon, smiling when I had little reason to smile. Maybe my facial nerves were developing a neurological condition; I resolved to keep a close eye on it. ~ Cary Attwell
Noticing You quotes by Cary Attwell
Later that night, when we left the prayer room, we felt something in Upper Room shift. Couldn't explain it, something just felt different. We knew the walls of Upper Room like the walls of our own homes. We'd soft-stepped down hallways as the choir practiced, noticing that corner in front of the instrument closet where the paint had chipped, or the tile in the ladies' room that had been laid crooked. We'd spend decades studying the splotch that looked like an elephant's ear on the ceiling above the water fountain. And we knew the exact spot on the sanctuary carpet where Elise Turner had knelt the night before she killed herself. (The more spiritual of us even swore they could still see the indented curve from her knees.) Sometimes we joked that when we died, we'd all become part of these walls, pressed down flat like wallpaper. ~ Brit Bennett
Noticing You quotes by Brit Bennett
Everyone wants to be happy and live mindfully. Books teach us how to resuscitate the body and soul and how to recognize what in our own personal lives is worthy of noticing. Writers' considered opinions and subtle observations regarding the joys, paradoxes, pains, tragedies, and truths of living provide us with a jumpstart in analyzing how best to integrate our personal experiences and disjointed thoughts into a cogent belief system. An artistic person understands their passions demand a struggle. Reading allows me unobtrusively to discover how other people freed themselves from suffering a destructive life of attachment, delusion, and disablement. ~ Kilroy J. Oldster
Noticing You quotes by Kilroy J. Oldster
He gave me a warm smile, and I blinked, realizing he was cute. I'd never really had
the luxury of noticing cuteness or lack thereof in guys. Mostly it was the lethal/nonlethal distinction that I went with ~ James Patterson
Noticing You quotes by James Patterson
When traveling, I usually keep a notebook: when home at my desk, the notebook serves mainly to remind me how little I saw at the time, or rather how I was noticing the wrong things. But the notes do spur memories, and it's the memories I trust. The wine stain on the page may tell me more than the words there, which usually strike me as hopelessly inadequate. ~ Jonathan Raban
Noticing You quotes by Jonathan Raban
So I think I sometimes will put a cliche in and then just pad it out so you're not noticing. ~ Matthew Vaughn
Noticing You quotes by Matthew Vaughn
One cold day Toby had been trotting up and down in his usual place before the church, when the bells chimed twelve o'clock, which made Toby think of dinner. "There's nothing," he remarked, "more regular in coming round than dinner-time, and nothing less regular in coming round than dinner. That's the great difference between 'em." He went on talking to himself never noticing who was coming near to him. "Why, ~ Charles Dickens
Noticing You quotes by Charles Dickens
Remarkable marketing is the art of building things worth noticing right into your product or service. Not slapping on marketing as a last-minute add-on, but understanding that if your offering itself isn't remarkable, it's invisible. ~ Seth
Noticing You quotes by Seth
When you're reading, you're laughing and not quite noticing what's happening. One second you're still kind of chuckling, and then all of sudden you're in the third act of the book and in this very dark and claustrophobic place. ~ Moshe Kasher
Noticing You quotes by Moshe Kasher
There is a favorite story, frequently told by the Zen masters, of the Buddha, preaching: of how he held up a single lotus, that simple gesture being his whole sermon. Only one member of his audience, however, caught the message, a monk named Mahākāśyapa, who is regarded now as the founder of the Zen sect. And the Buddha, noticing, gave him a knowing nod, then preached a verbal sermon for the rest: a sermon for those who required meaning, still entrapped in the net of ideas; yet pointing beyond, to escape from the net and to the way that some of them, one day or another, might find. ~ Joseph Campbell
Noticing You quotes by Joseph Campbell
I couldn't help noticing
certain parts of the statues
have been polished
to a high sheen
by passing hands
as the centuries passed.
If it's a form of worship
it is not much odder
or more perverse
than the saint's stone toe
kissed to a stub by fervent lips. ~ Gregory Orr
Noticing You quotes by Gregory Orr
The only real grounds for attack which the expression of Armance's countenance could offer to her enemies was a singular look which she had at times when her mind was most detached. This fixed and profound gaze was one of extreme attention; there was nothing in it, certainly, that could shock the most severe delicacy; it suggested neither coquetry nor assurance; but no one could deny that it was singular, and, in that respect, out of place in a young person. Madame de Bonnivet's flatterers, when they were sure of being noticed, would sometimes imitate this look, in discussing Armance among themselves; but these vulgar spirits robbed it of an element that they had never thought of noticing. "It is with such eyes," Madame de Mali-vert said to them one day, out of patience with their malevolence, "that a pair of angels exiled among men and obliged to disguise themselves in mortal form, would gaze at one another in mutual recognition. ~ Stendhal
Noticing You quotes by Stendhal
Poker." He nodded once, holding me in place with a clearly skeptical if not entertained expression. "Is it very cold? This place where you're going to play poker?"

Without me really noticing he'd crossed the room. I felt like one moment Quinn was at the far side by the window and the next moment he was standing directly in front of me, no more than three feet of air, and clothes, separated us.

"N-no. Not necessarily. I just wanted to be prepared."

"Prepared for artic temperatures?"

"Prepared for any eventuality."

"Like what? Poker in a freezer? ~ Penny Reid
Noticing You quotes by Penny Reid
We react constantly through life. Breathing, noticing, thinking, swallowing, feeling, and moving are all reactions. Most reactions are not really observed because they are commensurate with their stimuli, but a triggered reaction stands out because it is out of sync with what is actually taking place. When we are triggered, we have unresolved pain from the past that is expressed in the present. The present is not seen on its own terms. The real experience of the present is denied. Although reacting to the past in the present may make sense within the triggered person's logic system, it can have detrimental effects on those around them who are not the source of the pain being expressed, but are being punished nonetheless. They are acting in the present, but are being made accountable for past events they did not cause and cannot heal. The one being falsely blamed is also a person, and this burden may hurt their life. The person being triggered is suffering, but they often make other people suffer as well. There is narcissism to Supremacy, but there is also a narcissism to Trauma, when a person cannot see how others are being affected. Although the triggered person may be made narcissistic and self-involved by the enormity of their pain, both parties are in fact equally important. And it is the job of the surrounding communities to insist on this. ~ Sarah Schulman
Noticing You quotes by Sarah Schulman
Girls started noticing me a little bit more in senior year, and junior year, and that was weird. ~ Shane West
Noticing You quotes by Shane West
I've been thinking about something for a long time, and I keep noticing that most human speech-if not all human speech-is made with the outgoing breath. This is the strange thing about presence and absence. When we breath in, our bodies are filled with nutrients and nourishment. Our blood is filled with oxygen, our skin gets flush; our bones get harder-they get compacted. Our muscles get toned and we feel very present when we're breathing in. The problem is, that when we're breathing in, we can't speak. So presence and silence have something to do with each other. ~ Li-Young Lee
Noticing You quotes by Li-Young Lee
My pen.' Funny, I wrote that without noticing. 'The torch', 'the paper', but 'my pen'. That shows what writing means to me, I guess. My pen is a pipe from my heart to the paper. It's about the most important thing I own. ~ John Marsden
Noticing You quotes by John Marsden
In Necessary Marriage, I tried to repeat entire phrases without the reader noticing. My work doesn't have the rigor of music, but I hope it alludes to it. ~ Dumitru Tepeneag
Noticing You quotes by Dumitru Tepeneag
Bilbo lay with his eyes shut, gasping an taking pleasure in the feel of the fresh air again, and hardly noticing the excitement of the dwarves, or how they praised him and patted him on the back and put themseves and all their families for generations to come at his service. ~ J.R.R. Tolkien
Noticing You quotes by J.R.R. Tolkien
I'm too busy being the bad guy." It was one of those things that get said in a marriage, something that starts out as a genuine compliment but turns into a criticism without either party noticing or caring all that much. ~ Sarah Dunn
Noticing You quotes by Sarah Dunn
The smell slaps me sideways. Like when Mom grabs a container she forgot about from the back of the fridge and she says, "Here Mickey, smell this and see if it's still good," and I open it and take a whiff before noticing the fuzz. Like that. ~ Mick Bogerman
Noticing You quotes by Mick Bogerman
I wonder if I don't give too much of myself to writing: I am always half where I am; the other half is feeding the furnace, kick-starting the heat of creativity. I am making love with someone but at the same time I'm noticing how this graceful hand across my belly might just fit in with the memory of lilacs in Albuquerque in 1974. ~ Natalie Goldberg
Noticing You quotes by Natalie Goldberg
What happened next played itself out like a terrible drama with two spectators. Lee and I stayed on our side of the fence, like an audience. Of course if the bull had wanted to smash through the fence he could have done so any time, but luckily nearly all cattle live and die without learning that. It's like school, most students go from kindergarten to Year 12 without noticing that they could do a fair amount of damage if they wanted to. They stay inside the fence. ~ John Marsden
Noticing You quotes by John Marsden
The history of men of science has one peculiar advantage, as it shows the importance of little things in producing great results. Smeaton learned his principle of constructing a lighthouse, by noticing the trunk of a tree to be diminished from a curve to a cyclinder ... and Newton, turning an old box into a water-clock, or the yard of a house into a sundial, are examples of those habits of patient observation which scientific biography attractively recommends. ~ Robert Aris Willmott
Noticing You quotes by Robert Aris Willmott
I spent much of my college life prepping for other careers, but I was always drawing and painting whenever I had free time. Eventually, thanks to the internet, I started noticing that there were such things as art schools, and professional artists, and people making a living doing a variety of types of art. ~ Julie Dillon
Noticing You quotes by Julie Dillon
An officer put me in my place from the first moment.

I was standing by the billiard-table and in my ignorance blocking up the way, and he wanted to pass; he took me by the shoulders and without a word--without a warning or explanation--moved me from where I was standing to another spot and passed by as though he had not noticed me. I could have forgiven blows, but I could not forgive his having moved me without noticing me. ~ Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Noticing You quotes by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
He dropped his head and kissed her. He kisses her and it was a kiss of utter certainty, the kind of kiss during which monarchs die and whole continents fall without your even noticing. ~ Jojo Moyes
Noticing You quotes by Jojo Moyes
Noticing your reactions to suffering, anger, pain is the key to well-being. ~ James Altucher
Noticing You quotes by James Altucher
But what is it that drives haters crazy with rage? Many times, it's being ignored. To a person with pride, being ignored is often worse than out-and-out hate; it's that much more of an insult, that you're not even worth noticing. ~ Bill Maher
Noticing You quotes by Bill Maher
A child who has been breathing since birth without ever noticing it does not know how essential the unheeded air that gently swells his chest is to his life. Does he happen to be suffocating in a convulsion, a bout of fever? Desperately straining his entire being, he struggles almost for his life, for his lost tranquillity, which he will regain only with the air from which he did not realize his tranquillity was inseparable. ~ Marcel Proust
