I wish my father could be around. ~ Franz Wright
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Wright
True magic therefore is the high knowledge of the more subtle powers that have not yet been acknowledged by science up to this date because the methods of scrutiny that have been applied so far do not suffice for their grasping, understanding and utilization, although the laws of magic are analogous to all official sciences of the world. ~ Franz Bardon
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Bardon
All these preparations clearly show that a human being must perfect himself in the physical world through his magical development in order to be prepared for the higher astral world after death. ~ Franz Bardon
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Bardon
There is a story, for instance, that has very much the ring of truth about it. It goes like this: One of the older officials, a good and peaceful man, was dealing with a difficult matter for the court which had become very confused, especially thanks to the contributions from the lawyers. He had been studying it for a day and a night without a break - as these officials are indeed hard working, no-one works as hard as they do. When it was nearly morning, and he had been working for twenty-four hours with probably very little result, he went to the front entrance, waited there in ambush, and every time a lawyer tried to enter the building he would throw him down the steps. The lawyers gathered together down in front of the steps and discussed with each other what they should do; on the one hand they had actually no right to be allowed into the building so that there was hardly anything that they could legally do to the official and, as I've already mentioned, they would have to be careful not to set all the officials against them. On the other hand, any day not spent in court is a day lost for them and it was a matter of some importance to force their way inside. In the end, they agreed that they would try to tire the old man out. One lawyer after another was sent out to run up the steps and let himself be thrown down again, offering what resistance he could as long as it was passive resistance, and his colleagues would catch him at the bottom of the steps. That went on for ~ Franz Kafka

There is a down-and-outness under true knowledge and a childlike happy arising from it. ~ Franz Kafka

For when one is about to embark on some enterprise, it is precisely the books whose contents have nothing at all in common with the enterprise that are the most useful. ~ Franz Kafka
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Kafka
Written kisses never arrive at their destination; the ghosts drink them up along the way. ~ Franz Kafka
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Kafka
Official decisions are as elusive
as young girls. ~ Franz Kafka
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Kafka
However, even this would not have helped me had I not remembered that I was loved by a girl with a black velvet ribbon around her neck, if not passionately, at least faithfully. ~ Franz Kafka
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Kafka
I would love to be able to write a tragedy in my imagination
it would turn into a masterpiece. ~ Franz Grillparzer
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Grillparzer
For everything outside the phenomenal world, language can only be used allusively, but never even approximately in a comparative way, since, corresponding as it does to the phenomenal world, it is concerned only with property and its relations. ~ Franz Kafka
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Kafka
Through a particular magical practice it is possible to modify the being that has only one element into a being with four elements and to give it an immortal spirit. But a magicial will seldom intervene without good reason, because he is responsible and must justify his actions before Divine Providence. ~ Franz Bardon
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Bardon
Everything that can be found in the universe on a large scale is reflected in a human being on a small scale. ~ Franz Bardon
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Bardon
The spirit becomes free only when it ceases to be a support. ~ Franz Kafka
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Kafka
The present is never poetic as it serves necessity, necessity, however, is prosaic. ~ Franz Grillparzer

Association with human beings lures one into self-observation. ~ Franz Kafka
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Kafka
People label themselves with all sorts of adjectives. I can only pronounce myself as 'nauseatingly miserable beyond repair'. ~ Franz Kafka
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Kafka
We are created by being destroyed. ~ Franz Wright
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Wright
Why I love the ancients so much? Aside from everything else, when I read them, the entire past between them and me unfolds at thesame time. The hearts of how many heroes and poets may have been set on fire by Plutarch's biographies which now inspire me with their own and with borrowed flames! ~ Franz Grillparzer
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Grillparzer
A lot of development has always been informally subsidized. When a system administrator writes a network analysis tool to help him do his job, then posts it online and gets bug fixes and feature contributions from other system administrators, what's happened is that an unofficial consortium has been formed. ~ Karl Franz Fogel
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Karl Franz Fogel
48 Belief in progress doesn't mean belief in progress that has already occurred. That would not require belief. ~ Franz Kafka

Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Kafka
Someone must have been telling lies about Joseph K., for without having done anything wrong he was arrested one fine morning. ~ Franz Kafka
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Kafka
I am trying to heighten my feeling for the organic rhythm in all things, trying to establish a pantheistic contact with the tremor and flow of blood in nature, in animals, in the air - trying to make it all into a picture, with new movements and with colours that reduce our old easel paintings to absurdity. ~ Franz Marc
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Marc
The simultaneous existence and shared residence of such opposite moods and feelings is well-illustrated by Franz Schubert's assertion that whenever he sat down to write songs of love he wrote songs of pain, and whenever he sat down to write songs of pain he wrote songs of love. ~ Kay Redfield Jamison

Heimkehr Franz quotes by Marie-Louise Von Franz
The Kafka paradox: art depends on truth, but truth, being indivisable, cannot know itself: to tell the truth is to lie. thus the writer is the truth, and yet when he speaks he lies. ~ Franz Kafka
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Kafka
Our winters are very long here, very long and very monotonous. But we don't complain about it downstairs, we're shielded against the winter. Oh, spring does come eventually, and summer, and they last for a while, but now, looking back, spring and summer seem too short, as if they were not much more than a couple of days, and even on those days, no matter how lovely the day, it still snows occasionally. ~ Franz Kafka
Heimkehr Franz quotes by Franz Kafka
You too have weapons. ~ Franz Kafka

Furthermore, the study of the present surroundings is insufficient: the history of the people, the influence of the regions through which it has passed on its migrations, and the people with whom it came into contact, must be considered. ~ Franz Boas
