Make each day truly new, dressing it with the blessings of heaven, bathing it in wisdom and love and putting yourself under the protection of Mother Nature. Learn from the wise, from the sacred books, but do not forget that every mountain, river, plant or tree also has something to teach. ~ Paulo Coelho
Heaven Tree quotes by Paulo Coelho
The hallowing of Pain
Like hallowing of Heaven,
Obtains at a corporeal cost
The Summit is not given
to Him who strives severe
At middle of the Hill
But He who has achieved the Top
All
is the price of All ~ Emily Dickinson
Heaven Tree quotes by Emily Dickinson
Plant the trees just for beauty,
If flowers bloom or fruits ripen,
Enjoy it as a gift and appreciate nature as a universal giver. ~ Debasish Mridha
Heaven Tree quotes by Debasish Mridha
Blue Horse said to me ... wisdom is not a path, it is a tree. ~ Nancy E. Turner
Heaven Tree quotes by Nancy E. Turner
As soon as you think of fishing you think of things that don't belong to the modern world. The very idea of sitting all day under a willow tree beside a quiet pool - and being able to find a quiet pool to sit beside- belongs to a time before the war, before radio, before aeroplanes, before Hitler. ~ George Orwell
Heaven Tree quotes by George Orwell
The propitious smiles of heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregard the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained. Inaugural address 1789 ~ George Washington
Heaven Tree quotes by George Washington
Blessed are you who circled desire with a blade, and the garden with fiery swords, and heaven and earth with a word. ~ Leonard Cohen
Heaven Tree quotes by Leonard Cohen
Song

When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
Nor shady cypress tree:
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,
And if thou wilt, forget.

I shall not see the shadows,
I shall not feel the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
Sing on, as if in pain:
And dreaming through the twilight
That doth not rise nor set,
Haply I may remember,
And haply may forget.

Sir Thomas Wyatt has been credited with introducing the Petrarchan sonnet into the English language. Wyatt's father had been one of Henry VII's Privy Councilors and remained a trusted adviser when Henry VIII came to the throne in 1509. Wyatt followed his father to court, but it seems the young poet may have fallen in love with the king's mistress, Anne Boleyn. Their acquaintance is certain, although whether or not the two actually shared a romantic relationship remains unknown. But in his poetry, Wyatt called his mistress Anna and there do seem to be correspondences. For instance, this poem might well have been written about the King's claim on Anne Boleyn: ~ Christina Rossetti
Heaven Tree quotes by Christina Rossetti
To fulfill heaven's agenda on earth is not to own an agenda ~ Sunday Adelaja
Heaven Tree quotes by Sunday Adelaja
The angel is actually the message himself. His appearance is the message that heaven is intensely concerned with us, and that God cares for us like a father for his children. ~ H. C. Moolenburgh
Heaven Tree quotes by H. C. Moolenburgh
I would that with sleepy, soft embraces The sea would fold mewould find me rest In luminous shades of her secret places, In depths where her marvels are manifest; So the earth beneath her should not discover My hidden couchnor the heaven above her As a strong love shielding a weary lover, I would have her shield me with shining breast. ~ Adam Lindsay Gordon
Heaven Tree quotes by Adam Lindsay Gordon
They kill good trees to put out bad newspapers. ~ James G. Watt
Heaven Tree quotes by James G. Watt
A tree is a wonderful living organism which gives shelter, food, warmth and protection to all living things. It even gives shade to those who wield an axe to cut it down ~ Gautama Buddha
Heaven Tree quotes by Gautama Buddha
Oh, Heidi! Heidi!" Marta exclaimed at last. "This is your garden. I know it even though you have not told me. Do you suppose in Heaven it is any more beautiful than this?"
"I sometimes think that Heaven is all around us, if we only have eyes to see it," Heidi said softly.
"And on the Alm too?" questioned Marta.
"Yes, and in Dorfli. Even in the chateau which seems so gloomy now. There must be a little Heaven there as well. And if not, Marta, why not make it so? ~ Charles Tritten
Heaven Tree quotes by Charles Tritten
There is a strange intangible place on the outside edges of the human mind. It hangs there like a constant witness. It judges a person's every move, every thought and every action. Some people think it is "big brother" or God, but it is just a critical place inside the person's own mind that judges and condemns. It is the very place where we judge ourselves when we cross Rainbow Bridge into Heaven. ~ Kate McGahan
Heaven Tree quotes by Kate McGahan
Why has marriage failed? In the first place, we raised it to unnatural standards. We tried to make it something permanent, something sacred, without knowing even the abc of sacredness, without knowing anything about the eternal. Our intentions were good but our understanding was very small, almost negligible. So instead of marriage becoming something of a heaven, it has become a hell. Instead of becoming sacred, it has fallen even below profanity. ~ Rajneesh
Heaven Tree quotes by Rajneesh
Green leaves on a dead tree is our epitaph-green leaves, dear reader, on a dead tree. ~ Cyril Connolly
Heaven Tree quotes by Cyril Connolly
Dixie?" "Yeah." "You ever try to crack an AI?" "Sure. I flatlined. First time. I was larkin', jacked up real high, out by Rio heavy commerce sector. Big biz, multinationals, Government of Brazil lit up like a Christmas tree. ~ William Gibson
Heaven Tree quotes by William Gibson
Place"

On the last day of the world
I would want to plant a tree

what for
not the fruit

the tree that bears the fruit
is not the one that was planted

I want the tree that stands
in the earth for the first time

with the sun already
going down

and the water
touching its roots

in the earth full of the dead
and the clouds passing

one by one
over its leaves ~ W.S. Merwin
Heaven Tree quotes by W.S. Merwin
Earth and heaven are in us ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Heaven Tree quotes by Mahatma Gandhi
God cannot save them from fools. ~ John Muir
Heaven Tree quotes by John Muir
It's heaven, heaven, heaven when you
When you find love and romance on the menu. ~ David Levithan
Heaven Tree quotes by David Levithan
His heart quickened and he fisted his hands. There was nothing for it. When he saw the tip of Seth's tongue lick his lips and felt a hardening beneath him that mirrored his own, movie and tree forgotten, he lunged, closing the distance between their mouths. ~ Leona Windwalker
Heaven Tree quotes by Leona Windwalker
Still - if I have read religious history aright - faith, hope, and charity have not always been found in a direct ratio with a sensibility to the three concords, and it is possible - thank Heaven! - to have very erroneous theories and very sublime feelings. The raw bacon which clumsy Molly spares from her own scanty store that she may carry it to her neighbour's child to "stop the fits," may be a piteously inefficacious remedy; but the generous stirring of neighbourly kindness that prompted the deed has a beneficent radiation that is not lost. ~ George Eliot
Heaven Tree quotes by George Eliot
I salute you! There is nothing I can give you which you have not; but there is much, that, while I cannot give you, you can take. No heaven can come to us unless our hearts find rest in it today. Take Heaven. No peace lies in the future which is not hidden in this present instant. Take Peace. The gloom of the world is but a shadow; behind it, yet, within our reach, is joy. Take Joy. ~ Giovanni Giocondo
Heaven Tree quotes by Giovanni Giocondo
The Crocodile The sun of the Macusi people was worried. Every day there were fewer fish in their ponds. He put the crocodile in charge of security. The ponds got emptier. The crocodile, security guard and thief, invented a good story about invisible assailants, but the sun didn't believe it, took a machete, and left the crocodile's body all crisscrossed with cuts. To calm him down, the crocodile offered his beautiful daughter in marriage. "I'll be expecting her," said the sun. As the crocodile had no daughter, he sculpted a woman in the trunk of a wild plum tree. "Here she is," he said, and plunged into the water, looking out of the corner of his eye, the way he always looks. It was the woodpecker who saved his life. Before the sun arrived, the woodpecker pecked at the wooden girl below the belly. Thus she, who was incomplete, was open for the sun to enter. (112) ~ Eduardo Galeano
Heaven Tree quotes by Eduardo Galeano
If heaven existed as a physical building on earth, human beings would remodel it to make it right. ~ Vernon Howard
Heaven Tree quotes by Vernon Howard
One definition occurred to both of them - that he had come out into the light of that lucid and radiant ignorance in which all beliefs had begun. The sky above them was full of mythology. Heaven seemed deep enough to hold all the gods. ~ G.K. Chesterton
Heaven Tree quotes by G.K. Chesterton
From the earliest days of man there has endured the conviction that there is an order of existence which is entirely strange to him. It does indeed seem that the strict order of the visible world is only a semblance, one providing certain gross materials which become the basis for subtle improvisations of invisible powers. Hence, it may appear to some that a leafless tree is not a tree but a signpost to another realm; that an old house is not a house but a thing possessing a will of its own; that the dead may throw off that heavy blanket of earth to walk in their sleep, and in ours. And these are merely a few of the infinite variations on the themes of the natural order as it is usually conceived.

But is there really a strange world? Of course. Are there, then, two worlds? Not at all. There is only our own world and it alone is alien to us, intrinsically so by virtue of its lack of mysteries. If only it actually were deranged by invisible powers, if only it were susceptible to real strangeness, perhaps it would seem more like a home to us, and less like an empty room filled with the echoes of this dreadful improvising. To think that we might have found comfort in a world suited to our nature, only to end up in one so resoundingly strange! ~ Thomas Ligotti
Heaven Tree quotes by Thomas Ligotti
What if heaven is just a vast consciousness that the dead return to? And their assignment is to report on the experiences they collected during their time on earth? ... The spring mornings they woke up to a million birds singing their hearts out, and the summer afternoons with the swim towels hung over the porch rail, and the October air that smelled like wood smoke and apple cider, and the warm yellow windows of home when they came in on a snowy night. That's what my experience has been,' they say, and it gets folded in with the others
one more report on what living felt like. What it was like to be alive. ~ Anne Tyler
Heaven Tree quotes by Anne Tyler
Love, she believed, had to come, suddenly, with a great clap of thunder and a lightning flash, a tempest from heaven that falls upon your life, like a devastation, scatters your ideals like leaves and hurls your very soul into the abyss. Little did she know that up on the roof of the house, the rain will form a pool if the gutters are blocked, and there she would have stayed feeling safe inside, until one day she suddenly discovered the crack right down the wall. ~ Gustave Flaubert
Heaven Tree quotes by Gustave Flaubert
O chime of sweet Saint Charity, Peal soon that Easter morn When Christ for all shall risen be, And in all hearts new-born! That Pentecost when utterance clear To all men shall be given, When all shall say My Brother here, And hear My Son in heaven! ~ James Russell Lowell
Heaven Tree quotes by James Russell Lowell
She had come to that state where the horror of the universe and its smallness are both visible at the same time - the twilight of the double vision in which so many elderly people are involved. If this world is not to our taste, well, at all events, there is Heaven, Hell, Annihilation - one or other of those large things, that huge scenic background of stars, fires, blue or black air. All heroic endeavour, and all that is known as art, assumes that there is such a background, just as all practical endeavour, when the world is to our taste, assumes that the world is all. But in the twilight of the double vision, a spiritual muddledom is set up for which no high-sounding words can be found; we can neither act nor refrain from action, we can neither ignore nor respect Infinity. ~ E. M. Forster
Heaven Tree quotes by E. M. Forster
If our faith is strong, we'll go to heaven, and we'll understand the whole thing when we get there. As if life were a joke, and heaven the place where the cosmic punchline is finally explained to us. ~ Stephen King
Heaven Tree quotes by Stephen King
The way of heaven is to help and not harm. ~ Lao-Tzu
Heaven Tree quotes by Lao-Tzu
The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun. ~ Robert Herrick
Heaven Tree quotes by Robert Herrick
Lucifer, taking his last look of heaven, might have worn just such a look - so full of relentless hate, burning revenge, and undying defiance. ~ May Agnes Fleming
Heaven Tree quotes by May Agnes Fleming
Love seeketh not itself to please, nor for itself hath any care, but for another gives its ease, and builds a Heaven in Hell's despair. ~ William Blake
Heaven Tree quotes by William Blake
Under business as usual, by mid-century things are looking rather grim," he told me a few hours after I had arrived at One Tree. We were sitting at a beat-up picnic table, looking out over the heartbreaking blue of the Coral Sea. The island's large and boisterous population of terns was screaming in the background. Caldeira paused: "I mean, they're looking grim already. ~ Elizabeth Kolbert
Heaven Tree quotes by Elizabeth Kolbert
God should be most where man is least: So, where is neither church nor priest, And never rag nor form of creed To clothe the nakedness of need,- Where farmer folk in silence meet,- I turn my bell-unsummoned feet; I lay the critic's glass aside, I tread upon my lettered pride, And, lowest-seated, testify To the oneness of humanity; Confess the universal want, And share whatever Heaven may grant. He findeth not who seeks his own, The soul is lost that's saved alone. ~ John Greenleaf Whittier
Heaven Tree quotes by John Greenleaf Whittier
There's nothing crazier than a Christmas tree all lit up. ~ Jenny Han
Heaven Tree quotes by Jenny Han
Man's strength resides in his capacity and desire to elevate himself, so as to attain the good. To travel step by step toward the heights. And that is all he can do. To reach heaven and remain there is beyond his powers: Even Moses had to return to earth. Is it the same for evil? ~ Elie Wiesel
Heaven Tree quotes by Elie Wiesel
I hate all electronic toys: cell phones, e-mail, PalmPilots, handheld Global Positioning System equipment, and the whole raft of gadgets that intrude on solitude.
When I was a kid I used to disappear into the woods all day. Now I can walk in the wilderness without wasting my valuable time. As I hike along I can call anyone in the world, schedule an appointment, take a picture of me standing next to a tree and then send the person a map so he or she can join me there. Solitude has been snuffed out. ~ David Skibbins
Heaven Tree quotes by David Skibbins
The trees and the nature are friendlier in today's earth than commercial sick mass population. ~ Vishal Chipkar
Heaven Tree quotes by Vishal Chipkar
Ooo, let's see, I need to get my spicy barbecue sauce. Definitely some oven mitts, 'cause he's gonna be hot from being flame-broiled. I need to get a couple of them apple trees to make wood chips so the meat be nice and appley tasting. Give it that extra yumminess, 'cause I don't like that Daimon flavor. Ack! (Simi) ~ Sherrilyn Kenyon
Heaven Tree quotes by Sherrilyn Kenyon
You don't dream about angles and surfaces and so on. You dream about women, bread, smokes and trees. ~ Jean Helion
Heaven Tree quotes by Jean Helion
You Englishman, who have no right in this Kingdom of France, the King of Heaven orders and commands you through me, Joan the Maid, that you quit your fortresses and return into your own country, or if not, I shall make such mayhem that the memory of it will be perpetual. - Joan of Arc ~ Susan Banfield
