I send my thoughts afar, and let them paint your Christmas Day at home. ~ Edward Rowland Sill
Christmas Message quotes by Edward Rowland Sill
Don't wait until there is tragedy in your life. Don't wait until you lose somebody. Don't wait until it's too late. Appreciate the beautiful people that you have in your life now. ~ Katie Piper
Christmas Message quotes by Katie Piper
The foundation upon which our nation stands is much richer and firmer than the sympathies that may occasionally divide us. And we never know this more truly than in Christmas time. In good times or in bad, under clear skies or under the shadow of uncertainty, the Christmas message is the imperishable one of joy, hope and brotherhood. ~ Ferdinand Marcos
Christmas Message quotes by Ferdinand Marcos
...."When I was in boarding school, which is English-run, I read a very beautiful passage---something that George VI said in his Christmas message to the English people, in the darkest year of the war, 'Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown. And he replied, Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a knownew way. ~ Nelson DeMille
Christmas Message quotes by Nelson DeMille
And then, just when everything is bearing down on us to such an extent that we can scarcely withstand it, the Christmas message comes to tell us that all our ideas are wrong, and that what we take to be evil and dark is really good and light because it comes from God. Our eyes are at fault, that is all. God is in the manger, wealth in poverty, light in darkness, succor in abandonment. No evil can befall us; whatever men may do to us, they cannot but serve the God who is secretly revealed as love and rules the world and our lives. ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Christmas Message quotes by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection. ~ Winston Churchill
Christmas Message quotes by Winston Churchill
The greatest gift at Christmas is love. The love that bind us together us one Human Family. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Christmas Message quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
The medium is the message. This is merely to say that the personal and social consequences of any medium - that is, of any extension of ourselves - result from the new scale that is introduced into our affairs by each extension of ourselves, or by any new technology. ~ Marshall McLuhan
Christmas Message quotes by Marshall McLuhan
I think it's kind of difficult to write a good Christmas song because you have a narrow framework of references that you have to work within, and at the same time you want to do something that's personally original and hopefully somewhat unique. ~ John Oates
Christmas Message quotes by John Oates
It was through this odor that he saw the museums and discovered the mystery and the profusion of baroque genius which filled Prague with its gold magnificence. The altars, which glowed softly in the darkness, seemed borrowed from the coppery sky, the misty sunlight so frequent over the city. The glistening scrolls and spirals, the elaborate setting that looked as if it were cut out of gold paper, so touching in its resemblance to the creches made for children at Christmas, the grandiose and grotesque baroque perspectives affected Mersault as a kind of infantile, feverish, and overblown romanticism by which men protect themselves against their own demons. The god worshipped here was the god man fears and honors, not the god who laughs with man before the warm frolic sea and sun. ~ Albert Camus
Christmas Message quotes by Albert Camus
She broke off the kiss again on a strangled gasp, staring at him, her chest heaving. "We're not having sex here tonight." Even as she said it, she rode his thigh harder. Troy's eyes almost rolled back in his head at her barely leashed restraint, at the buck of hips that didn't seem to buy the message her mouth was selling.
"Okay," he agreed. If she chose to dry hump him all the way to orgasm beneath a billion stars he'd be in that. ~ Amy Andrews
Christmas Message quotes by Amy Andrews
Speak your heart. If they don't understand, the message was never meant for them anyway. ~ Yasmin Mogahed
Christmas Message quotes by Yasmin Mogahed
Pick something you are interested in, and keep applying a business model that includes Internet Marketing to make it global, get thousands of leads and clients for free and make more sales. Remember you are building a business, as people make the internet appear to be push-button money, when in fact it is a medium to market your message! ~ Tracy Repchuk
Christmas Message quotes by Tracy Repchuk
I do not think that condemning people who murder and killing them necessarily sends out the right message. ~ Charlize Theron
Christmas Message quotes by Charlize Theron
We are soon approaching a refined holiday, "Merry Mas," where Christ will be taken out of its context. ~ Anthony Liccione
Christmas Message quotes by Anthony Liccione
My mother was a not-too-devoted atheist. She went to Episcopal church on Christmas Eve every year, and that was mostly it. ~ Anne Lamott
Christmas Message quotes by Anne Lamott
I think it's better to be comfortable in your skin than to be miserable being who you are. Sure, the meth is horrible. It ruins people from the inside out. It's a waiting game
it's not a matter of if it destroys you, but rather a matter of when it will. I've made it this far. I'm not sending a message that it's "cool" to be on drugs and tell everyone about it. I don't sum myself up as a drug addict and a hooker. That's not what I am. Those are juts things I do, they don't define me. Jobs and addictions do not make us who we are. ~ Ashly Lorenzana
Christmas Message quotes by Ashly Lorenzana
She was in the downstairs bathroom sneaking bites from the macaroons my father's firm always sent us for Christmas. She ate them greedily they were like suns bursting open in her mouth. ~ Alice Sebold
Christmas Message quotes by Alice Sebold
From a very young age, I liked to take apart things. All of my Christmas gifts would wind up in a million pieces. I actually recall taking apart my dad's lawnmower three times to understand how combustible engines work. ~ Homaro Cantu
Christmas Message quotes by Homaro Cantu
In the middle of all the world's incessant noise, her message was music, and music was a thing that I'd mostly lived my life without. In the ten years since I'd last seen Miranda she'd come to somehow stand in for all the things I didn't have in life that were thought to make us human, all the absent music and touch and sympathy; in my mind she lived a separate life apart from her real one, and there she grew more pure and perfect with each passing day . . . In my mind Miranda had become a miracle. ~ Dexter Palmer
Christmas Message quotes by Dexter Palmer
Our own life has to be our message. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh
Christmas Message quotes by Thich Nhat Hanh
What would happen to the dream if its dreamer was no more? ~ Martin I. Green
Christmas Message quotes by Martin I. Green
Worst thing comes to worst, I fucking die a tragic death or some shit
And I´m not able to see out my dreams, I at least wanna know
That the kids perceived my message, and were able to make something of themselves
And able to take my message, and use it, and turn it into something positive
If I´m gonna d-, If I´m gonna die or ever be a sacrifice
I wanna make sure that my life made at least 5 million kids happy ~ XXXTentacion
Christmas Message quotes by XXXTentacion
And finally it is Thursday and the day of my guitar lesson. I jump out of bed as though it's Christmas morning and I am six years old and a child of the Brangelina. I am in front of the mirror fixing my make up when Brodie waltzes in and plonks herself on my bed.

'Why do you look pretty?' she asks. ~ Sarah Alderson
Christmas Message quotes by Sarah Alderson
Of course we have a Tomorrow on the map ... located east of Today and west of Yesterday ... and we have no end of "times" in fairyland. Spring-time, long time, short time, new-moon time, good-night time, next time ... but no last time, because that is too sad a time for fairyland; old time, young time ... because if there is an old time there ought to be a young time, too; mountain time ... because that has such a fascinating sound; night-time and day-time ... but no bed-time or school-time; Christmas-time; no only time, because that also is too sad ... but lost time, because it is so nice to find it; some time, good time, fast time, slow time, half-past kissing-time, going-home time, and time immemorial ... which is one of the most beautiful phrases in the world. ~ L.M. Montgomery
Christmas Message quotes by L.M. Montgomery
It only took one text message to change my life. That's when I discovered my loving husband had been unfaithful. His infidelities ended our marriage. ~ Garcelle Beauvais
Christmas Message quotes by Garcelle Beauvais
Conservatives understand Halloween, liberals only understand Christmas. If you want to control a population, don't give it social services, give it a scary adversary. ~ Tom Robbins
Christmas Message quotes by Tom Robbins
We cannot and must not allow ourselves to have the message of Hiroshima and Nagasaki fade completely from our minds, and we cannot allow our vision or ideals to fade, either. For if we do, we have but one course left for us. And that flash of light will not only rob us of our vision, but it will rob us of our lives, our progeny, and our very existence. ~ Tadatoshi Akiba
Christmas Message quotes by Tadatoshi Akiba
One Christmas my father kept our tree up till March. He hated to see it go. I loved that. ~ Mo Rocca
Christmas Message quotes by Mo Rocca
A text comes from Wallace.

An actual text too, not a message through the forum app. I gave him my number awhile back, before Halloween, but not because I wanted him to call me or anything. I wrote it on the edge of our conversation paper in homeroom and slid it over to him because sometimes I see something and think, Wallace would laugh at that, I should send him a picture of it, but the messaging app is terrible with pictures and texting is way better.

So he texts me now, and it's a picture. A regular sweet potato pie. Beneath the picture, he says, I really like sweet potato pie.

I text back, Yeah, so do I.

Then he sends me a picture of his face, frowning, and says, No, you don't understand.

Then another picture, closer, just his eyes. I REALLY like sweet potato pie.

A series of pictures comes in several-second intervals. The first is a triangular slice of pie in Wallace's hand. Then Wallace holding that slice up to his face - it's soft enough to start collapsing between his fingers. The next one has him stuffing the slice into his mouth, and in the final one it's all the way in, his cheeks are puffed out like a chipmunk's, and he's letting his eyes roll back like it's the best thing he's ever eaten.

I purse my lips to keep my laugh in, but my parents are fine-tuned to the slightest hint of amusement from me, and they both look up.

"What's so funny, Eggs?" Dad says.

"Nothing," ~ Francesca Zappia
Christmas Message quotes by Francesca Zappia
I won't be caught dead winking in a message. I don't wink at people normally. Why would I do it in a text? I'd prefer a middle finger emoticon, but those are hard to find. ~ M. Mabie
Christmas Message quotes by M. Mabie
Symptoms of illness and distress, plus your feelings about them, can be viewed as messengers coming to tell you something important about your body or about your mind. In the old days, if a king didn't like the message he was given, he would sometimes have the messenger killed. This is tantamount to suppressing your symptoms or your feelings because they are unwanted. Killing the messenger and denying the message or raging against it are not intelligent ways of approaching healing. The one thing we don't want to do is to ignore or rupture the essential connections that can complete relevant feedback loops and restore self-regulation and balance. Our real challenge when we have symptoms is to see if we can listen to their message and really hear them and take them to heart, that is, make the connection fully. ~ Jon Kabat-Zinn
Christmas Message quotes by Jon Kabat-Zinn
The red drapery which was being hung for Christmas spreading itself everywhere like a disease of the retina. Not ~ George Eliot
Christmas Message quotes by George Eliot
leaders confuse the mere transfer of information to an audience with the audience's ability to understand, internalize, and embrace the message that is being communicated. ~ Patrick Lencioni
Christmas Message quotes by Patrick Lencioni
The displacement of class politics by identity politics has been very confusing to older Marxists, who for many years clung to the old industrial working class as their preferred category of the underprivileged. They tried to explain this shift in terms of what Ernest Gellner labeled the "Wrong Address Theory": "Just as extreme Shi'ite Muslims hold that Archangel Gabriel made a mistake, delivering the Message to Mohamed when it was intended for Ali, so Marxists basically like to think that the spirit of history or human consciousness made a terrible boob. The awakening message was intended for classes, but by some terrible postal error was delivered to nations. ~ Francis Fukuyama
Christmas Message quotes by Francis Fukuyama
WENT ON a long journey by telephone last week. It started with a message in my office on that fiendish modern invention, second in its monstrousness only to the television, the answerphone. ~ Theodore Dalrymple
Christmas Message quotes by Theodore Dalrymple
The problem with every sacred text is that it has human readers. Consciously or unconsciously, we interpret it to meet our own needs. There is nothing wrong with this unless we deny that we are doing it, as when someone tells me that he is not 'interpreting' anything but simply reporting what is right there on the page. This is worrisome, not only because he is reading a translation from the original Hebrew or Greek that has already involved a great deal of interpretation, but also because it is such a short distance between believing you possess an error-free message from God and believing that you are an error-free messenger of God. The literalists I like least are the ones who do not own a Bible. The literalists I like most are the ones who admit that they do not understand every word God has revealed in the Bible, though they still believe God has revealed it. I can respect that.

I can respect almost anyone who admits to being human while reading a divine text. After that, we can talk - about we highlight some teachings and ignore others, about how we decide which ones are historically conditioned and which ones are universally true, about who has influenced our reading of scripture and how our social location affects what we hear. The minute I believe I know the mind of God is the minute someone needs to tell me to sit down and tell me to breathe into a paper bag. ~ Barbara Brown Taylor
Christmas Message quotes by Barbara Brown Taylor
Every company in America should be on its knees thanking Jesus for being born. Without Christmas, most American businesses would be far less profitable. More than enough reason for business to be screaming 'Merry Christmas.' ~ Bill O'Reilly
Christmas Message quotes by Bill O'Reilly
We must assume every event has significance and contains a message that pertains to our questions ... this especially applies to what we used to call bad things ... the challenge is to find the silver lining in every event, no matter how negative. ~ James Redfield
Christmas Message quotes by James Redfield
Nurturing words show that you believe in the other party's capacity to learn, change and grow. One's mind is like a computer. Every message you send goes into one of two files: discounting or nurturing. The file with the most data will direct how one sees and feels about himself or herself. Messages that nurture are based on unconditional love which must be worked at, especially if you come from a discounting family. You will need to rely on Jesus to fill the void in your life with His presence and help you learn how to love unconditionall like He loves us. ~ H. Norman Wright
Christmas Message quotes by H. Norman Wright
There were no shouts, no trumpets, nothing but the ringing of iron-shod boots on the stones of the bridge, and the clank of ready weaponry.
Could we rescue them? I could not see Khesot's face, but in the utter stillness with which they stood, I read hopelessness.
I readied myself once again--
Then from the center of their forces stepped a single equerry, with a white scarf tied to a pole. He started up the path that we meant to descend. As he walked the light strengthened, now illuminating details. Still with that weird detachment I looked at his curly hair, the freckles on his face, his small nose. We could cut him down in moments, I thought, and then winced the thought away. We were not Galdran. I waited.
He stopped not twenty-five paces from me and said loudly, "Countess, we request a parley."
Which made it obvious they knew we were there.
Questions skittered through my mind. Had Khesot talked? How otherwise could the enemy have seen us? The only noise now was the rain, pattering softly with the magnificent indifference of nature for the tangled passions of humans.
I stood up. "Here. State your message."
"A choice. You surrender, and your people can then disperse to their homes. Otherwise, we start with them." He pointed to the bridge. "Then everyone else." He lifted his hand, indicating the ridge up behind us.
I turned, and shock burned through me when I saw an uncountable host lined along the rocks we'd descended from half a n ~ Sherwood Smith
Christmas Message quotes by Sherwood Smith
There were two books I remember changing my life as a introverted, bookish 14 year old. The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand and The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien. One was set in a fantastic world, populated by outlandish characters, tired prose, foul monsters, evil incarnate and a message about losing one's humanity. The other book was about hobbits. ~ Christopher Odell Homsley
Christmas Message quotes by Christopher Odell Homsley
I think it's important, however, that as we again talk about the importance of free speech we make it clear that actions predicated on violent talk are not America they are not who were they are not what we do and they will be prosecuted, so I want that message to be clear also. ~ Loretta Lynch
Christmas Message quotes by Loretta Lynch
That gospel message should both humble and lift the believer up at the same time. It teaches us that we are indeed self-centered sinners. It perforates our illusions about our goodness and superiority. But the gospel also fills us with more love and affirmation than we could ever imagine. It means we don't need to earn our self-worth through incessant service and work. It means also that we don't mind so much when we are deprived of some comfort, compliment, or reward. We don't have to keep records and accounts anymore. We can freely give and freely receive. ~ Timothy Keller
Christmas Message quotes by Timothy Keller
I was fortunate enough, after many visits to many wonderful, weird people to come across Burt Rutan, who is a genius in the Mojave Desert. And SpaceShipOne was born and had three flights into space that won something called the X Prize. And from there, we're building SpaceShipTwo, which is ... a beautiful spaceship that is very, very, very nearly completed and will be ready from about next Christmas onwards to start taking people into space. ~ Richard Branson
Christmas Message quotes by Richard Branson
I don't like to get things during the year, .. I like to wait for my birthday or Christmas. I may see something that I'll say, 'I'd really like that for my birthday.' I like to have things to look forward to. ~ Dakota Fanning
Christmas Message quotes by Dakota Fanning
He was acutely aware of her chest rising and falling as she tortured him with silence for several seconds before finally opening her baby blues and saying, "That Was Epic." Then she broke into a fit of laughter. ~ Robin Bielman
Christmas Message quotes by Robin Bielman
Our whole message is it's easy to just keep preaching to the church and people that already come. ~ Joel Osteen
Christmas Message quotes by Joel Osteen
You can give a great and wonderful Christmas if you remember the gifts God has given you and, as best you can, offer them to others as He would. That is the spirit of Christmas and of true happiness every day. ~ Henry B. Eyring
Christmas Message quotes by Henry B. Eyring
It's a shame for women's history to be all about men
first boys, then other boys, then men men men. It reminds me of the way our school history textbooks were all about wars and elections, one war after another, with the dull periods of peace skimmed over whenever they occurred. (Our teachers deplored this and added extra units about social history and protest movements, but that was still the message of the books.) ~ Elizabeth Kostova
