We live in the information age and the sheer volume of it being available everywhere, creates a need for information that has value. Yes, we can look anything up on Google but who has the time? Can we trust that the information comes from a trustworthy source? Your experience has given you a deep knowing of your subject matter. You have insights and ideas that others may not figure out on their own. You are holding a roadmap that has great value to someone. What has been stopping you from sharing your knowledge? Perhaps you have been afraid to put yourself out there because of a fear of rejection? Let me get straight to the point. Get over it right now! Ponder the following quote for a moment and then move on with the decision to write rather than not to write, because not to write is not "to be". You deny yourself and your audience. You have had an incredible journey to get to where you are and have amassed experience and knowledge. Now combine that with your unique voice and be heard. You are already an expert. Accept it. ~ Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Book Power quotes by Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Successful people have been conditioned to keep going and keep striving so they can finally be enough. But the truth is, we're already enough regardless of what we do. ~ Amy Leigh Mercree
Book Power quotes by Amy Leigh Mercree
You are sovereign over your life. No one else. If your heart's desires are not manifest, only you have the power to take action to change that. ~ Amy Leigh Mercree
Book Power quotes by Amy Leigh Mercree
Book authors are in high demand for speaking engagements and appearances; they are the new 'celebrity' and celebrities gain access. Authors not only make money from royalties or book advances but from their keynotes, presentations and strategically branded product lines. This includes entrepreneurial ideas for you to extend yourself beyond just writing and prepares you to add speaking and consulting to your revenue stream. You have to begin to look outside book sales and towards the speaking market. There are radio, interviews, news, television, small channel television keynotes, lectures, seminars and workshops. These types of events have the possibility to be much more lucrative than just selling books. In essence, the book builds and brands you in the public eye. It gives you credibility and the opportunity to be more than you are. It enables you to now be a voice, a teacher, a leader, an expert - after all, you wrote the book on it! ~ Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Book Power quotes by Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Writing your book is not the end all of your strategy. It is a powerful catalyst that will push you to the top of your game. You see, something magical happens when you write your book and this is the best place to mention it because a sale happens when your book is complete. You sell yourself on the idea that you are more than you previously believed yourself to be. You get to experience that "I did it" moment where your mind releases these wonderful stimulators that make you feel awesome. You see yourself in a different way and this opens up a greater opportunity for accomplishment, achievement, and success. ~ Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Book Power quotes by Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
It's more than a bath; it's a transformative experience. You're searching for buoyancy in the soul, and spring in your step. ~ Amy Leigh Mercree
Book Power quotes by Amy Leigh Mercree
Book Power

Books feed and cure and
chortle and collide.

In all this willful world
of thud and thump and thunder
man's relevance to books
continues to declare.

Books are meat and medicine
and flame and flight and flower,
steel, stitch, and cloud and clout,
and drumbeats in the air. ~ Gwendolyn Brooks
Book Power quotes by Gwendolyn Brooks
Yes, there are many ways to collect content, but in my experience - the best and most authentic content is one which you speak when you are in moments of flow. You can use any recording device. Do not let the lack of understanding technology slow you down. Ask someone how to turn the damn thing on and record yourself. Remember, you are on a mission to complete the levels within and win a better life for yourself and your family. You owe it to them to overcome these obstacles and to see your way through, not to create excuses. ~ Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Book Power quotes by Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
An increasing number of people are taking advantage of having a leg up on their competition by branding themselves as "the expert" in their particular niche. Call it a business card, a resume, a billboard, or whatever you choose, but the long and short of it is that books are no longer just books. They are branding devices and credibility builders, not to mention door openers. Books are the reason that authors command large speaking and consulting fees. ~ Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Book Power quotes by Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Experts tend to be busy and hyper organized. They want to help you, but the easier you make it for them, the better. They most likely do not have time to read your entire book or try out your 12 hour course, so summarize and highlight the strong points for them. Give them specific guidelines to make it very easy on their part. ~ Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Book Power quotes by Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Insecurity is being scared of your authentic self. It is the belief that your true, authentic self is not as magnificent as it actually is. Let go of that insecurity and do something totally gutsy and feel the relief in that. ~ Amy Leigh Mercree
Book Power quotes by Amy Leigh Mercree
The final option to have your book completed is to hire a ghost writer. The challenge with this option is that it is important to note that your voice IS an integral part of your branding. When you hire someone else, what your readers will ultimately get is their voice. When they see you later at your website or on your social media, your voice will not be the same. This will trigger a feeling of inconsistency when relationships need to be built upon trust and authenticity. Your audience will eventually come to think you are not the "real deal" and will find another to replace you. Finally, your book is a springboard and launching pad to greater things such as speaking, interviews, a product line, etc. Will your ghost writer be available for all of that as well? How will you be able to "ghost write" your way through an interview? Hence the reason I stress speaking in your own voice. You may think you are not perfect, but your authenticity will speak in volumes to your followers and they will be customers for life if they see your true being. ~ Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
Book Power quotes by Kytka Hilmar-Jezek
The easiest way to write a book is to use the Table of Contents as an outline. People get stuck when they think in terms of writing a book. Do not let this delay you. There are a lot of book outline writing software's available today, but I personally believe they have the potential to cause more distraction then assistance.
The best possible outlines have come from pure "flow". I advise my clients to do a simple process of setting the timer for 2 minutes and just writing. I ask that they write everything that pops into their heads without thought or judgment on the subject. The questions I ask are: What is most important to you? What do you know a lot about? Tell me 12 things that fall under that subject that are valuable to know. Under each of the 12 things, give me 3 things that are a "must" in that category. Using index cards to write your answers on is a useful way to arrange chapters and sections of your book. Believe it or not, my students have come up with a Table of Contents/outline in less than 10 minutes using this method. Our greatest block is that we tend to over think things too much. We over analyze and what happens is that we get into analysis paralysis. Our creativity and 'flow' freezes up and all spontaneity and creativity just exits out of the thought process. When we stall the creative flow by trying to be correct, proper and appropriate, we end up talking ourselves out of what we intuitively know that we know and into a space of doubt, or what we th ~ Kytka Hilmar-Jezek

Becoming a book collector is like joining a religion: it's for life. ~ Arturo Perez Reverte
Book Power quotes by Arturo Perez Reverte
I am curious to see what books will emerge from all this writing online that's the result of those who grew up pouring their feelings out on Livejournal or Tumblr - excessive, sometimes automatic, sometimes enraged, emotional, while also quite intellectual - or if formal books will emerge at all, if that's not the point of these unmediated raw spaces. I'm excited by the possibility. ~ Kate Zambreno
Book Power quotes by Kate Zambreno
The word fascism is not a word of abuse any more than the word capitalism is. It is a concept denoting a very definite kind of mass leadership and mass influence: authoritarian, one-party system, hence totalitarian, a system in which power takes priority over objective interests, and facts are distorted for political purposes. Hence, there are "fascist Jews," just as there are "fascist Democrats. ~ Wilhelm Reich
Book Power quotes by Wilhelm Reich
It is a pity, in my opinion, that no prize exists for the writer who best refrains from adding to the world's bad books. ~ William, Saroyan
Book Power quotes by William, Saroyan
The fact that a book or publication is popular does not necessarily make it of value. ~ Ezra Taft Benson
Book Power quotes by Ezra Taft Benson
The story of human nature is a fair romance. Am I to blame if it is not found elsewhere? I am trying to write the history of mankind. If my book is a romance, the fault lies with those who deprave mankind. ~ Jean-Jacques Rousseau
Book Power quotes by Jean-Jacques Rousseau
My books have been translated into various languages and sold in other countries, but I never have any contact with the foreign publishers and am so disconnected from that process that it seems almost imaginary. With 'How to Save a Life', I worked closely with Usborne editors and have been involved in the publicity. ~ Sara Zarr
Book Power quotes by Sara Zarr
Don't think of Diana Vreeland's memoir as a book; it's more like a lunch. A bit of souffle, a glass of champagne, some green grapes - light, bubbly and slightly tart - all served up by an egocentric but inventive hostess. ~ Cathleen McGuigan
Book Power quotes by Cathleen McGuigan
Writing takes a lot of patience. It usually takes me a year to write a book. One time, it took me 14 years to write a book, not that I worked on it every day. ~ Avi
Book Power quotes by Avi
It's a fair-sized job to write a book that people can be bothered just to read; when they begin to steal copies, you are really getting some place. ~ Ruth Stout
Book Power quotes by Ruth Stout
We put on a pot of tea, a necessity between these two writing friends. We
could no more imagine writing without this hot sustenance than we could
without pen and paper. We sat at the table to talk shop, sort through our
notes, and make plans for the book. Then we settled down in the sunroom,
giggling a little at the unexpected absurdity of our activity, editing
within arm's reach of each other, like toddlers at parallel play. ~ Mary Potter Kenyon
Book Power quotes by Mary Potter Kenyon
Man's life is a line that nature commands him to describe upon the surface of the earth, without his ever being able to swerve from it, even for an instant. He is born without his own consent; his organization does in nowise depend upon himself; his ideas come to him involuntarily; his habits are in the power of those who cause him to contract them; he is unceasingly modified by causes, whether visible or concealed, over which he has no control, which necessarily regulate his mode of existence, give the hue to his way of thinking, and determine his manner of acting. He is good or bad, happy or miserable, wise or foolish, reasonable or irrational, without his will being for any thing in these various states. ~ Paul Henri Thiry D'Holbach
Book Power quotes by Paul Henri Thiry D'Holbach
There is a theory of space and time embedded in the way we use words. There is a theory of matter and a theory of causality, too. Our language has a model of sex in it (actually, two models), and conceptions of intimacy and power and fairness. Divinity, degradation, and danger are also ingrained in our mother tongue, together with a conception of well-being and a philosophy of free will. These conceptions vary in their details from language to language, but their overall logic is the same. They add up to a distinctively human model of reality, which differs in major ways from the objective understanding of reality eked out by our best science and logic. Though these ideas are woven into language, their roots are deeper than language itself. They lay out the ground rules for how we understand our surroundings, how we assign credit and blame to our fellows, and how we negotiate our relationships with them. A close look at our speech-our conversations, our jokes, our curses, our legal disputes, the names we give our babies-can therefore give us insight into who we are. ~ Steven Pinker
Book Power quotes by Steven Pinker
I used to think that: whenever I heard that someone had taken 10 years to write a novel, I'd think it must be a big, serious book. Now I think, 'No - it took you one year to write, and nine years to sit around eating Kit Kats.' ~ Ian Rankin
Book Power quotes by Ian Rankin
Seth's quote from his book:
"And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God and I'd get Him to swap our places"
-"Running up that Hill" by Kate Bush ~ Richelle Mead
Book Power quotes by Richelle Mead
I struggle to let go of the drive to dominate and instead remember that heaven isn't forced on earth through my pursuit of power. ~ Alisa Harris
Book Power quotes by Alisa Harris
We take it for granted that we can see at all times of day and night. But there was a time, not all that long ago, in the age before electricity, when night brought total darkness - and with it, a not-so-small amount of terror. We get a sense of this when we go camping or when there's a power outage, and our fear of the darkness is primal. ~ Jake Halpern
Book Power quotes by Jake Halpern
It is extremely convenient to have a label for the political and economic viewpoint elaborated in this book. The rightful and proper label is liberalism. Unfortunately, "As a supreme, if unintended compliment, the enemies of the system of private enterprise have thought it wise to appropriate its label",' so that liberalism has, in the United States, come to have a very different meaning than it did in the nineteenth century or does today over much of the Continent of Europe. ~ Milton Friedman
Book Power quotes by Milton Friedman
Then, too, the dissemination of the truth in a society based on coercion was always hindered in one and the same manner, namely, those in power, feeling that the recognition of this truth would undermine their position, consciously or sometimes unconsciously perverted it by explanations and additions quite foreign to it, and also opposed it by open violence. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Book Power quotes by Mahatma Gandhi
Democracy is the spawn of despotism. And like father, like son. Democracy is power and rule. It's not the will of the people, remember; it's the will of the majority. ~ B.F. Skinner
Book Power quotes by B.F. Skinner
All I need in life:
1. A book
2. Cookies and milk
3. A friend to share them with
4. SHERBIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~ Me
Book Power quotes by Me
Becoming Richard Pryor is a compulsively readable book that sets a new gold standard for American biography. Scott Scaul's research is extraordinary; his writing is taut, elegant, and insightful; and he captures both the hilarity and pain that made Richard Pryor such a towering figure, ~ Debby Applegate
Book Power quotes by Debby Applegate
Always have a book to read, instead of indulging in vain conversation. Strive to learn English ... Remember this, that you cannot commit some loved sin in private, and perform the work of the ministry in public, with facility and acceptance. ~ Christmas Evans
Book Power quotes by Christmas Evans
If you liked a book, don't meet the author. ~ Raymond Chandler
Book Power quotes by Raymond Chandler
The beauty of the world of Unbreakable is that you're playing it for reality. It should never feel like a comic book movie. It feels like a straight-up drama. It's real. You're confronting the possibility that comic book characters were based on people that were real. ~ M. Night Shyamalan
Book Power quotes by M. Night Shyamalan
When you have gained a victory, do not push it too far; 'tis sufficient to let the company and your adversary see 'tis in your power but that you are too generous to make use of it. ~ Eustace Budgell
Book Power quotes by Eustace Budgell
I started my Twitter account for selfish reasons: I wanted to have a place to post updates on my book signing tour and stuff like that. I never realized that I'd have so much fun tweeting. It's become the deleted scenes for my DVD of columns and podcasts. ~ Bill Simmons
Book Power quotes by Bill Simmons
Wherever the Bible has been consistently applied, it has dramatically changed the civilization and culture of those who have accepted its teaching. No other book has ever so dramatically changed the individual lives and society in general. ~ John F. Walvoord
Book Power quotes by John F. Walvoord
When a man finds the right woman, there will appear a black hole to remove any and everything negative in his life. Once this task is complete and he's in her presence for the very first time thereafter, there will form in him a natural inclination to scream FUCK THE WORLD. And it is not just because she's near him. Her proximity to him gives him proof that she herself is alive and well in the universe itself. ~ A.K. Kuykendall
Book Power quotes by A.K. Kuykendall
This hand is not very active always, because it was in this hand that I carried my books. My carrying hand was always my strongest. Now I think my other hand has developed more muscles from signing all those autographs. ~ Haile Gebrselassie
