For a house, somewhere near Los Angeles I found an old church. Very old, no longer used. So we moved the church to the land, and I took off the steeple, and I got my hands dirty. ~ Douglas Sirk
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Douglas Sirk

- everything you need
to run a business in
Los Angeles. ~ Ice-T

I look forward to a time when my career in a place where I can get out of Los Angeles and find a nice small town like I grew up in to raise my family. ~ Patrick Dempsey
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Patrick Dempsey
I need grit and struggle and Los Angeles is terribly nice, but people, once they get there, cease to be real. Constant and repetitive fulfillment is not good for the human spirit. We all need rain and good old depression. Life can't be all beer and skittles. ~ Morrissey
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Morrissey
The Hispanic culture is finding its way into the American culture. Places like Miami are going to be centers for that influence - places like Los Angeles and, certainly, cities in Texas. ~ Randy Falco
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Randy Falco
I began auditioning for acting jobs at the ripe old age of 12. Thirty years later, including a 15-year run on television, I sometimes just get offers for work. Often, however, I am still required to run pell-mell around Los Angeles or New York, interviewing for film and TV jobs. ~ Diane Farr
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Diane Farr
The freeway experience ... is the only secular communion Los Angeles has. Mere driving on the freeway is in no way the same as participating in it. Anyone can "drive" on the freeway, and many people with no vocation for it do, hesitating here and resisting there, losing the rhythm of the lane change, thinking about where they came from and where they are going. Actual participation requires total surrender, a concentration so intense as to seem a kind of narcosis, a rapture-of-the-freeway. The mind goes clean. The rhythm takes over. ~ Joan Didion
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Joan Didion
When I lived in Los Angeles, I used to live in the Hollywood Hills, behind Grauman's Theater, and I'd always hit the matinees. ~ J. D. Souther
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by J. D. Souther
The good thing about Pittsburgh, it's a good place to be raised ... it doesn't tolerate assholes. You're either a good guy or you're a bad guy ... When I'm in Los Angeles having these incredibly surreal moments where nobody's saying anything and everybody's talking incessantly, I always have that Pittsburgh voice in my head - shut up, smile, get the job, move on. ~ Dennis Miller
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Dennis Miller
I really did graduate at 14, and I go to college in the Los Angeles area near where I live. ~ Danielle Panabaker
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Danielle Panabaker
When you're held underwater, you think only of air. I remember how I felt about Shanghai in the days after our lives changed - how streets that had once seemed exciting suddenly stank of nightsoil, how beautiful women suddenly were nothing more than girls with three holes, how all the money and prosperity suddenly rendered everything forlon, dissolute and futile. The way I see Los Angeles and Chinatown during these difficult and frightening days couldn't be more different. ~ Lisa See
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Lisa See
I finished the movie a month ago in downtown Los Angeles. I had a lot of fun doing it. ~ Coolio
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Coolio
In my district, the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles handle approximately 44 percent of all of the goods delivered to American shores, yet they are in constant need of revenue for facilities, improvements and upgrades to roads and bridges and rails. ~ Dana Rohrabacher
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Dana Rohrabacher
Everything in Los Angeles is too large, too loud and usually banal in concept ... The plastic asshole of the world. ~ William Faulkner
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by William Faulkner
Cherchez la femme, Bucky. Remember that. ~ James Ellroy
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by James Ellroy
And here in Los Angeles, once again, I'm going to go down and be a witness. There's a guilty plea. I don't mind being on the witness stand, but I think they mind it a lot. ~ Patty Hearst
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Patty Hearst
I spend a fair bit of time in Los Angeles, and there is much I love about the place - the weather, the food, the beaches and the golf. And a few things I don't. Like the way an enormous number of mentally ill people seem to be forced to live on the streets with little or nothing in the way of government assistance. ~ John Niven
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by John Niven
Frankly, I have no sex appeal. Just strolling in Los Angeles, London, or Paris, you will find a bunch of young guys like me. I am not James Dean. ~ Robert Pattinson
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Robert Pattinson
Rosette disappeared onto the dance floor. Wells sat in silence for a minute, watching the dancers. The worldwide cult of fast money spent stupidly. The worldwide cult of trying too hard. Moscow, Rio, Los Angeles, Tokyo, New York, London, Shanghai--the story was the same everywhere. The same overloud music, the same overpromoted brand names, the same fake tits, about as erotic as helium balloons. Everywhere an orgy of empty consumption and bad sex. Las Vegas was the cult's world headquarters, Donald Trump its patron saint. Wells had spent ten years in the barren mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan. He never wanted to live there again. But if he had to choose between an eternity there or in the supposed luxury of this club, he'd go back without a second thought. ~ Alex Berenson
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Alex Berenson
I spent my whole life as a writer talking to just the average guy in Los Angeles and Latin America, talking to working people. ~ Hector Tobar
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Hector Tobar
Most indie shoots, or any kind of film shooting, even TV, it's out of Los Angeles, unfortunately. I wish that would change, that people could work where their families are, across the board - crew, cast. I wish we could all stay here. ~ Jeanne Tripplehorn
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Jeanne Tripplehorn
Here in Los Angeles, school's out for summer. For thousands of school kids, this is the first week of summer vacation. And for thousands of parents, it's the first week of hell. ~ Craig Ferguson
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Craig Ferguson
I think that 'Station to Station' is a nomadic project not only in a literal sense, as it's traveling by train from place to place. Some of these places are New York City or Los Angeles, but some of these places are rather off-the-grid places. ~ Doug Aitken
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Doug Aitken
I spent nine days in the Downtown Los Angeles City Jail. The judge gave me a suspended sentence and I went to work that night - wailed just like nothing happened. What strucked me funny though - I laughed real loud when several movie stars came up to the bandstand while we played a dance set and told me, when they heard about me getting caught with marijuana, they thought marijuana was a chick. Woo boy - that really fractured me! ~ Louis Armstrong
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Louis Armstrong
We flew to Los Angeles, where I secured a new passport. The picture in my stolen one wasn't half bad, but in the new one I look like a penis with an old person's face drawn on it. ~ David Sedaris
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by David Sedaris
If we talk about the environment, for example, we have to talk about environmental racism - about the fact that kids in South Central Los Angeles have a third of the lung capacity of kids in Santa Monica. ~ Danny Glover
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Danny Glover
Los Angeles is seven suburbs in search of a city. ~ Alexander Woollcott
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Alexander Woollcott
VERY EARLY ONE MORNING in July 1977, the FBI, having been tipped off about Operation Snow White, carried out raids on Scientology offices in Los Angeles and Washington, DC, carting off nearly fifty thousand documents. One of the files was titled "Operation Freakout." It concerned the treatment of Paulette Cooper, the journalist who had published an exposé of Scientology, The Scandal of Scientology, six years earlier. After having been indicted for perjury and making bomb threats against Scientology, Cooper had gone into a deep depression. She stopped eating. At one point, she weighed just eighty-three pounds. She considered suicide. Finally, she persuaded a doctor to give her sodium pentothal, or "truth serum," and question her under the anesthesia. The government was sufficiently impressed that the prosecutor dropped the case against her, but her reputation was ruined, she was broke, and her health was uncertain. The day after the FBI raid on the Scientology headquarters, Cooper was flying back from Africa, on assignment for a travel magazine, when she read a story in the International Herald Tribune about the raid. One of the files the federal agents discovered was titled "Operation Freakout." The goal of the operation was to get Cooper "incarcerated in a mental institution or jail. ~ Lawrence Wright
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Lawrence Wright
When I was 18, I moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA. ~ Sofia Carson
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Sofia Carson
After an earthquake in Los Angeles - The earth in LA moved more in one hour than Benoit Benjamin did all last season with the Clippers. ~ Peter Vecsey
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Peter Vecsey
In Los Angeles, everything is 100% organic, except the people. ~ Kris Kidd
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Kris Kidd
I do the "I just got laid," walk for days after our trip to Los Angeles. It's more like a strut. It's pretty obvious when you're doing it. Your mind is clouded in an euphoric high. Your head held at an angle twenty degrees higher than normal. There's a continual smart-ass grin on your face. Your eyes twinkle, literally, as if stardust fell inside them. You walk taller. Prouder. Your back is held straighter. Shoulders wider. You know you're hot. It's been proven. You had sex. ~ Katie Kacvinsky
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Katie Kacvinsky
Living in Los Angeles was like being an extra in a movie that was starring other people entirely. ~ Sandra Tsing Loh
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Sandra Tsing Loh
I have never taken a road trip. Unless you count Los Angeles to Vegas. ~ Jamie-Lynn Sigler
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Jamie-Lynn Sigler
I do all kinds of roles - nerd, psycho, nerd, psycho, nerd, psycho - and occasionally someone kind of normal. It's weird, when I lived in Austin I was always cast as pretty normal people. But when I moved to Los Angeles I was immediately branded a psycho. ~ John Hawkes
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by John Hawkes
Fall is my favorite season in Los Angeles, watching the birds change color and fall from the trees. ~ David Letterman
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by David Letterman
The landscape, like Los Angeles itself, is transitional. Impermanence haunts the city, with its mushroom industries
the aircraft perpetually becoming obsolete, the oil which must one day be exhausted, the movies which fill America's theatres for six months and are forgotten. Many of its houses
especially the grander ones
have a curiously disturbing atmosphere, a kind of psychological dankness which smells of anxiety, overdrafts, uneasy lust, whisky, divorce and lies. ~ Christopher Isherwood
Los Angeles Oncologists quotes by Christopher Isherwood
Once, when cornered by a pinwheel-eyed man who insisted that the mayor of Los Angeles was not human but a robot controlled by the audioanimatronics department at Disneyland, Joe had lowered his voice and said, with nervous sincerity, "Yes, we've known about that for years. But if we print a word of it, the people at Disney will kill us all." He had spoken with such conviction that the nutball had exploded backward and fled. ~ Dean Koontz
