I didn't wave my daisy. I felt small, the way an ant must feel looking up at a field of wildflowers. I was nothing. I was trapped below flowers, buried under them, while girls like Lizzie Lovett danced overhead. That was life. We all have a place. ~ Chelsea Sedoti
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Chelsea Sedoti
True artists know how to cut their subjects open and bleed them onto the canvas. ~ Chelsea Sedoti

Lizzie Lovett quotes by Chelsea Sedoti
As long as something was a mystery, there was still the potential for amazement. Maybe that's where I went wrong before. Some riddles weren't meant to be solved. ~ Chelsea Sedoti
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Chelsea Sedoti
I knew all about reading a lot. About how it could take you to a world what was better than the real one. A world where there were adventures and mysteries and magic. Except, of course, books ended eventually, and then you had to go back to being yourself. ~ Chelsea Sedoti
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Chelsea Sedoti
I am so stupid, little man," I told Phillip. "No you're not. Lizzie in my class, she's stupid. She eats her boogers. You don't do that. I've been watching. ~ Mary Calmes
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Mary Calmes
Watercolour is probably the most satisfying of all mediums. Although difficult in the beginning, after practice its mysteries will unfold, providing the utmost pleasure for the dedicated. ~ Robert A. Lovett
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Robert A. Lovett
The old family carriage and the two lady's maids were there,
as necessaries of life; but London society was not within her reach. It was therefore the case that they had not heard very much about Lizzie Eustace. But they had heard something. "I hope she won't be too fond of going out," said Amelia, the second girl.
"Or extravagant," said Georgina, the third.
"There was some story of her being terribly in debt when she married Sir Florian Eustace," said Diana, the fourth.
"Frederic will be sure to see to that," said Augusta, the eldest.
"She is very beautiful," said Lydia, the fifth.
"And clever," said Cecilia, the sixth.
"Beauty and cleverness won't make a good wife," said Amelia, who was the wise one of the family.
"Frederic will be sure to see that she doesn't go wrong," said Augusta who was not wise. ~ Anthony Trollope
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Anthony Trollope
That must be something to discover a book that nobody's ever heard of or everybody thought was lost."
"It's every bibliophile's dream," said Francis, and Peter knew in a second that it was his own. ~ Charlie Lovett
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Charlie Lovett

Lizzie Lovett quotes by Charlie Lovett

Lizzie Lovett quotes by Sharon Creech
I can't do anything in a minute. ~ Lizzie Andrew Borden
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lizzie Andrew Borden
I did not hear her go or come back, but I supposed she went. ~ Lizzie Andrew Borden
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lizzie Andrew Borden
To what or whom does Lizzie Harris direct the imperative title of her startling first book, Stop Wanting? To the reader, the narrator, to desire itself, or to lack? This is a work of complexly, ambiguously layered narratives and identities. The opening poem asserts I want to say what happened / but am suspicious of stories. These lines become an ars poetica for the whole of this painful and exceptional collection in which the unspeakable is stubbornly confronted by a searing eloquence. This is a commanding debut. ~ Lynn Emanuel
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lynn Emanuel
I've always worked with people who have been supporters of me creatively. ~ Lyle Lovett
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lyle Lovett
That was what should truly matter in this world. What you have to offer people, not what you can buy. ~ Elizabeth Eulberg
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Elizabeth Eulberg
Georgie took out her phone. 'I want to take a picture of you two.' She held up her phone and motioned for us to get together.
Darcy and I lined up against the railing. 'No, I need you closer together to get you both in the photo,' she instructed.
I had taken countless pictures on the waterfront and I knew that if you were getting the skyline in the background, you didn't need to be that close.
Darcy put his arm around my shoulder and we leaned in. I slipped my arm around his waist and I noticed how easily I fit into the little nook on his side.
'Oh, hold on, I'm having problems.' Georgie played with her phone for a few moments while we just stood there in our posed embrace.
'Georgie ... '
She looked up at her brother and blushed. 'Um, I think it works now. ~ Elizabeth Eulberg
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Elizabeth Eulberg
Your eye level is your reference point for drawing the perspective lines. All lines above your eye level will go down to the horizon vanishing point and all lines below your eye level will go up to the horizon vanishing point. ~ Robert A. Lovett
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Robert A. Lovett
Stupid is forgivable, but ignorance is intolerable. The first is a birth defect, the second is a choice. ~ Lucee Lovett
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lucee Lovett
I had no occasion for an apron on that morning. ~ Lizzie Andrew Borden
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lizzie Andrew Borden
I'm not the kind of writer that can wake up and say, "Okay, I'm gonna write a song today," and have that song be the kind I would want to record. The songs of mine that I end up liking are songs that come from real experience. They're like chapter titles in my life. ~ Lyle Lovett
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lyle Lovett
TODD:
The history of the world, my love
LOVETT:
Save a lot of graves,
Do a lot of relatives favors!
TODD:
Is those below serving those up above!
LOVETT:
Ev'rybody shaves,
So there should be plenty of flavors!
TODD:
How gratifying for once to know
BOTH:
That those above will serve those down below! ~ Stephen Sondheim
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Stephen Sondheim
The largest and most rigorous study that is currently available in this area is the third one commissioned by the British Home Office (Kelly, Lovett, & Regan, 2005). The analysis was based on the 2,643 sexual assault cases (where the outcome was known) that were reported to British police over a 15-year period of time. Of these, 8% were classified by the police department as false reports. Yet the researchers noted that some of these classifications were based simply on the personal judgments of the police investigators, based on the victim's mental illness, inconsistent statements, drinking or drug use. These classifications were thus made in violation of the explicit policies of their own police agencies. There searchers therefore supplemented the information contained in the police files by collecting many different types of additional data, including: reports from forensic examiners, questionnaires completed by police investigators, interviews with victims and victim service providers, and content analyses of the statements made by victims and witnesses. They then proceeded to evaluate each case using the official criteria for establishing a false allegation, which was that there must be either "a clear and credible admission by the complainant" or "strong evidential grounds" (Kelly, Lovett, & Regan,2005). On the basis of this analysis, the percentage of false reports dropped to 2.5%."

Lizzie Lovett quotes by David Lisak
He had a smile like a hug, a kiss like a blush, and a touch like a blessing. He didn't see a whore when he looked at her. He saw Lizzie. Just Lizzie. ~ Shewanda Pugh
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Shewanda Pugh
What's put that secret smile on your face?" Phillip asked, a teasing light in his eyes. "Don't tell me Henry was actually pleasant company." "He was," Emma allowed. "Very knowledgeable." Julian said, "What did you do out there all that time - that's what I'd like to know." He leaned back in his chair and watched her face with a knowing smirk. "Lizzie said the two of you were alone out there for quite some time." "Oh?" Phillip asked, clearly surprised. "And what did you find to talk about with our laconic Henry?" "Greek mythology, mostly," Emma said casually, wanting to end any romance rumors before they might begin. "I found it very interesting." "You would," Rowan muttered. ~ Julie Klassen
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Julie Klassen
When you have a solid upbringing and a strong sense of place, that sustains you. My sense of home never leaves me. ~ Lyle Lovett
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lyle Lovett
I think he came to the front door and rang the bell, and Maggie let him in, and he said he had forgotten his key; so I think she must have been down stairs. ~ Lizzie Andrew Borden
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lizzie Andrew Borden
I ate and drank what I wanted in Paris. Butter, duck fat, liver fat, triple-cream brie, deep cherry-red wines, pear, clementine and lavender jelly, crème cakes, caviar, escargot in sautéed pine nuts and garlic butter. I did what the French did, I licked my fingers, didn't care if people saw, what they thought. Father would've hated it, would've told me I was uncouth. I ate everything up, ate his money, was delightful everywhere I went. I learned how to wrap my tongue around accented vowels, spoke to this stranger and that. Nobody knew me, didn't expect anything from me. I wanted to stay like that forever. ~ Sarah Schmidt
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Sarah Schmidt
A literary mystery, a damsel in distress, and his rival deposed. If that doesn't get him here then he's not much of a knight in shining armor. ~ Charlie Lovett
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Charlie Lovett
He only kissed her and she kissed him and her knees went weak and her heart raced and she thought for a moment that she saw fireworks. ~ Charlie Lovett
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Charlie Lovett
Both my parents worked, so I was home alone a lot, and I would listen to their records. They belonged to the Columbia House record club, so they had records! ~ Lyle Lovett
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lyle Lovett
I just want to let you know that when I look into my future, I see nothing but you." That's what Chaz had whispered in my ear at some point during the wedding last night.
Then he'd whispered. "And you're not even wearing Spanx. ~ Meg Cabot
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Meg Cabot
I get such a rush out of seeing other people doing well. ~ Ben Lovett
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Ben Lovett
Love was like a stock, Lizzie realized. You gambled on its paying off in the long run - but it could just as easily cost you everything. ~ Joanna Shupe
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Joanna Shupe
Time's Flying," said Dad. He Smiled. He pointed to the air. "There it is, flying past! Catch it!" And he jumped, and caught Time in his hands, and showed it to Lizzie. She took it from him, and threw it up again.
"There it goes," she called. "Bye-bye. Bye-bye, Time! ~ David Almond
Lizzie Lovett quotes by David Almond
But as she rounded the last turn before the hall landing, she nearly collided with Sir Ian, carrying his mother's shawl.
"Oh!" Lina exclaimed, coming to an abrupt halt a step above his.
"Rather careless of you to leave this behind," he said.
He was too close.
"Aye, it was," she agreed, stepping back up a step to gain more space.
His eyes danced. "Mayhap I should demand a penance before returning it."
"You dare," she said, stiffening and wishing he were not so fiendishly beguiling with that boyish gleam of mischief in his eyes. He was definitely not just a mischievous boy anymore, though. And, for a lady to encourage such behavior . . .
He looked up, as if to heaven, and murmured, "Just one wee ki - "
"Shame on you, Sir Ian Colquhoun," she interjected, thinking she sounded just like her mother. "Galbraith cannot know that you are on this stairway."
"Once again, you are wrong, lass," he said, his eyes still alight. "He is still with Lizzie on the dais - giving her a well-deserved scolding, I trust. I saw that you had left the shawl and offered to find a maidservant to return it to you. But this is much better. I do think you should thank me prettily for taking so much trouble."
"I will thank you. After you have returned it to me."
Cocking his head, he held the shawl higher, so she'd have to reach for it.
When she did, he moved it back out of her reach.
Lina lowered her outstretched hand to her side and eyed him st ~ Amanda Scott

Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lizzie Brochere

Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lyle Lovett
Last winter when I was coming home from church one Thursday evening, I saw somebody run around the house again. I told my father of that. ~ Lizzie Andrew Borden
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lizzie Andrew Borden
I don't know whether Mrs. Borden is out or in; I wish you would see if she is in her room. ~ Lizzie Andrew Borden
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lizzie Andrew Borden
'Somebody That I Used to Know' by Goyte has an odd, '80s vibe to it, but that does not mean that I did not like it. Quite the opposite actually. The song is different, and slowly lured me in. The video is just as strange, but definitely enjoyable. ~ Ben Lovett
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Ben Lovett
As a songwriter, you try your best to write a good song, and you like nothing better than hearing a good song. It's easy to admire a great song, and you want to share out of enthusiasm. ~ Lyle Lovett
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lyle Lovett

Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lyle Lovett
We experience challenges in order to learn and grow. We have fears because we're human, and our life's work includes working through them, to come to a place of genuine self-acceptance, compassion, and love. ~ Lizzie Velasquez
Lizzie Lovett quotes by Lizzie Velasquez
I met Jon Lovett, who was just coming off of three years of being a presidential speech writer and had just arrived here to be a comedy writer in Hollywood. I thought he was super green, in terms of this world, but he knows so much about the world that we're attempting to write about. ~ Josh Gad
