All I can think is: His head is gone and I don't know how to merge with the Book. ~ Karen Marie Moning
Iesha Marie quotes by Karen Marie Moning
People at a point of conflict are always the most interesting stories to tell. ~ Anne-Marie Duff
Iesha Marie quotes by Anne-Marie Duff
I blink. Lies are just not coming as fast as they usually do. What the fuck did they give me in the hospital? ~ Kristy Marie
Iesha Marie quotes by Kristy Marie
When Kestrel opened her eyes, she was lying in her bed. Someone had built a fire, which sent ripples of orange light over the ceiling. An oil lamp burned on the night table, casting her father's face into extremes of shadow and bone. He had drawn a chair close and perhaps had been sleeping in it, but his eyes were alert.
"Your knee needs to be tapped," he said.
She looked at it. Someone--her father?--had cut away the right legging at her thigh, and below the sheared black cloth her knee was swollen to twice its normal size. It felt tight and hot.
"I don't know what that means," Kestrel said, "but it doesn't sound very nice."
"Irex dislocated your kneecap. It slipped back into place, but the blow must have torn your muscle. Your knee's filling with blood. That's what's causing you so much pain: the swelling." He hesitated. "I have some experience with this kind of wound, on the battlefield. I can drain it. You'll feel better. But I would have to use a knife."
Kestrel remembered him cutting her mother's arm, blood weaving through his fingers as he tried to close the wound. He looked at her now, and she thought that he was seeing the same thing, or seeing Kestrel remember it, and that they were mirroring each other's nightmare.
His gaze fell to his scarred hands. "I've sent for a doctor. You can wait until she comes, if you prefer." His voice was flat, yet there was a small, sad note that probably only she would have heard. "I wouldn't suggest this ~ Marie Rutkoski
Iesha Marie quotes by Marie Rutkoski
All things work together for good for those who are called according to His purpose. ~ Anne-Marie Pol
Iesha Marie quotes by Anne-Marie Pol
Don't make any promises that you can't keep ~ Ann Marie Aguilar
Iesha Marie quotes by Ann Marie Aguilar
Have gratitude for the things you're discarding. By giving gratitude, you're giving closure to the relationship with that object, and by doing so, it becomes a lot easier to let go. ~ Marie Kondo
Iesha Marie quotes by Marie Kondo
I envision the possible scenarios, starting with the worst first. I like to do it that way so I can end on the happy thought and aim for it. ~ Karen Marie Moning
Iesha Marie quotes by Karen Marie Moning
Her feeling that the moon had slipped from her grasp seemed locked in a place so far inside her that to reach it would be to break her open. ~ Anna-Marie McLemore
Iesha Marie quotes by Anna-Marie McLemore
For the mentally disturbed, Marie knew these sandwich visits might be the only dependable moments in their lives. She also knew she delivered the sandwiches for her own sanity. Something would crumble inside of her if she ever walked by a homeless person and pretended not to notice. Or simply didn't care. In a way, she believed that homeless people were treated as Indians had always been treated. Badly. The homeless were like an Indian tribe, nomadic and powerless, just filled with more than any tribe's share of crazy people and cripples. So, a homeless Indian belonged to two tribes, and was the lowest form of life in the city. The powerful white men of Seattle had created a law that made it illegal to sit on the sidewalk. That ordinance was crazier and much more evil than any homeless person. Sometimes Marie wondered if she worked so hard at anything only because she hated powerful white men. She wondered if she went to college and received good grades just because she was looking for revenge. ~ Sherman Alexie
Iesha Marie quotes by Sherman Alexie
The Browning love story? It is an ideal, all too rare, and yet I hardly think it strange. It would have been far stranger had the fates allowed those two brilliant passionate souls to beat themselves out in silence. ~ Marie Corelli
Iesha Marie quotes by Marie Corelli
A jewelry box? Ballerinas? She'd been such an active girl that any jewelry she'd been given would have been lost or broken right away. It was Faye Marie who'd loved-
"My sister," she gasped, then louder. "My sister!" She clasped her hands together in a pleading gesture. "My lord, I beg pardon of you, but you're mistaken. I believe you gifted that treasure box to my older sister, Faye Marie. She's the one who loved ballerinas. I was obsessed with-"
"Pegasus." The old justice's eyes melted from cold to kindness. "It was a trick question. I'd forgotten your birthday was so close to mine, and shared my spice cake out of pure guilt." His lined face wrinkled as he smiled with a fond memory. "You were a kind little soul, unspoiled for a girl raised in such wealth. You forgave me instantly and informed me that spice cake was, indeed, your favorite present ever received. ~ Kerrigan Byrne
Iesha Marie quotes by Kerrigan Byrne
People can be a bit flagrant when they're having an affair. Most of the time, there's an element of it where they want to be discovered because they're in crisis. They need the boil to be burst, in some way, for a resolution. ~ Anne-Marie Duff
Iesha Marie quotes by Anne-Marie Duff
The mark of writing on me is so indelible, a tattoo would be redundant. ~ Marie-Helene Bertino
Iesha Marie quotes by Marie-Helene Bertino
Whereas the comic confronts simply logical contradictions, the tragic confronts a moral predicament. Not minor matters of true andfalse but crucial questions of right and wrong, good and evil face the tragic character in a tragic situation. ~ Marie Taylor Collins Swabey
Iesha Marie quotes by Marie Taylor Collins Swabey
I carry a picture of Buffy Sainte-Marie in my wallet and I'm not even Catholic. ~ Ron Burgundy
Iesha Marie quotes by Ron Burgundy
My livelihood depends on my surface beauty, but when I wash my face, I see a real person there. ~ Marie Helvin
Iesha Marie quotes by Marie Helvin
Few people ever kill for the right reasons, June. Most do it for the wrong reasons. I just hope you never have to be in either category. ~ Marie Lu
Iesha Marie quotes by Marie Lu
I dropped out of school in the 11th grade because there was no purpose in it for me. I'm not proud of this, and I'm not trying to promote it. ~ Lisa Marie Presley
Iesha Marie quotes by Lisa Marie Presley
If I had done everything I was supposed to, I'd be leading the league in homers, have the highest batting average, have given $100,000 to the Cancer Fund and be married to Marie Osmond. ~ Catfish Hunter
Iesha Marie quotes by Catfish Hunter
Again and again parents describe ... the trancelike nature of their children's television watching. The child's facial expression is transformed. The jaw is relaxed and hangs open slightly; the tongue rests on the front teeth. The eyes have a glazed, vacuous look. ~ Marie Winn
Iesha Marie quotes by Marie Winn
A king may rule the kingdom but the queen still moves the board. ~ Donna Marie Timney
Iesha Marie quotes by Donna Marie Timney
Part of privilege is not having to look at ugly things. ~ Marie Rutkoski
Iesha Marie quotes by Marie Rutkoski
You can't unkiss a man you've kissed. I ~ Karen Marie Moning
Iesha Marie quotes by Karen Marie Moning
She opens her eyes.

"Adelina?" she whispers, blinking. And all I can see before me is the little sister who used to braid my hair, who sang to me and whimpered under the stairs, who bandaged my broken finger and came to me when the thunder rolled outside. She is my sister, always, even in death, even beyond.

My heart twists again as I think of what I am doing, and I choke back a sob. Oh, Magiano. I will miss all the days we will never have, all the moments we will never share. Forgive me, forgive me, forgive me.

I open my mouth. I mean to tell my sister I'm sorry, sorry I couldn't save her in the mountains, sorry I didn't listen to her, I didn't tell her more often that I loved her. I am ready to say a thousand words.

But I say none of them. Instead, I say, "The deal is done."

A faint glow encircles Violetta. The pillar vanishes. She sucks in a deep gasp of air, then falls to her knees. She is alive. ~ Marie Lu
Iesha Marie quotes by Marie Lu
Bloody hell, she wants respect. Which I'm all about giving. I respect them the entire time they're sharing my bed and I treat them great when they're not, flirting them up, telling them how beautiful they are, while pointing them at the next man to help them get over me. ~ Karen Marie Moning
Iesha Marie quotes by Karen Marie Moning
He turned his face up, eyes slanting half closed with bliss and rumbled in his broad chest. "I see you, Yi-yi."
Yi-yi was what he'd named her that day long ago on Olean when she'd named him. He'd been saying the same words to her every time she awakened or fell asleep for four years, and wouldn't rest until she said it back.
"I see you, too, Shazam. ~ Karen Marie Moning
Iesha Marie quotes by Karen Marie Moning
She was learning to live around it. ~ Marie Rutkoski
Iesha Marie quotes by Marie Rutkoski
I want results and I know how to get them. He's always telling me to ask. Tonight I'm asking. ~ Karen Marie Moning
Iesha Marie quotes by Karen Marie Moning
Our words sound light and almost carefree, but we can both feel the strain behind them. The effort of trying to forget, to push down. The consequence of things neither of us can ever take back. ~ Marie Lu
Iesha Marie quotes by Marie Lu
Tell me the four people with whom you spend the most time and I will tell you who you are. ~ Ann Marie Sabath
Iesha Marie quotes by Ann Marie Sabath
Things we had, like respect and trust, but also freely expressed desires and accountability to whatever degree it took to make both people happy. It took work, a willingness to fight passionately and fairly--out of bed, not just in it--commitment and honesty. It took waking up and saying each day, "I hold this man sacred and always will. He's my sun, moon, and stars."
It took letting the other person in; a thing I'd stopped doing. It took being unafraid to ask for what you wanted, to put yourself on the line, to risk it all for love. ~ Karen Marie Moning
Iesha Marie quotes by Karen Marie Moning
Who is that in the glass? She sees herself for the first time. She doesn't require soft
light, not at her age, not with her looks, so the effect of three candles is excessively
ravishing. Her hair sparks at every brush stroke. The candlelight carves a grotto in
the gloom around her. The mirror is a sacred pool, in it she sees the future: her lips
swollen with kissing, eyes caressing, come with me to my home beneath the sea and
I will love you.
She unbuttons her nightgown. My beautiful throat. Bares a white shoulder, ohh.
Parts the fabric to reveal her breasts, sailor take warning. Her image floating just
beneath the twilight surface, tempting herself overboard.
She hovers her hand above a nipple that gathers and pleats to a point seeking heat.
Kisses her palm with one eye on the mirror. Again, this time with her tongue.
Experiments with the creation of cleavage. Arranges her hair: Gibson girl, milkmaid,
madwoman, dryad. And leaves it there, spilling over her shoulders.
It's a self-portrait and the artist is in love. ~ Ann-Marie MacDonald
Iesha Marie quotes by Ann-Marie MacDonald
Fen shook his head and soaped up his hands. "You humans are very strange, mate." Fen tipped his head. "I saw this video that showed women being tortured."

Jeff sobered. "What?"

"They were submitting voluntarily too."

Jeff immediately relaxed as Fen's hands ran over his body. "What were they doing?"

"Getting something called a Brazilian... ~ Dana Marie Bell
