We are forgetting to live in this world because we are always getting ready to live in the next world. ~ Debasish Mridha
Forgetting To Live quotes by Debasish Mridha
You are so consumed with dying, you are forgetting to live. And what purpose on earth has that served you? ~ M.L. Little
Forgetting To Live quotes by M.L. Little
In life we are always getting ready to live, but we are forgetting to live in the process. ~ Debasish Mridha
Forgetting To Live quotes by Debasish Mridha
Over the course of my life I've had more than my fair share of romantic relationships with wonderful women, many moved on to live happy, healthy, and productive lives, and I'm pleased to say remain dear friends today. Sadly, there are a few who have chosen to rewrite history in an attempt to stay in the spotlight. I guess, as the old saying goes: You can't win 'em all! ~ Hugh Hefner
Forgetting To Live quotes by Hugh Hefner
Our pets will never be with us for long enough, at least physically, but when they have been blessed with opportunity and been able to live a full life, how can we respond with anything less than pride and celebration? ~ Nick Trout
Forgetting To Live quotes by Nick Trout
Italy is still very much the same place it was 2,000 years ago. Italians are still the same .. there's a sense of beauty and a sense of dignity and a sense of living life to the full that infects everyone. ~ Bruno Heller
Forgetting To Live quotes by Bruno Heller
At some point, our faith and our words must become our actions and lives. Do we talk more about God than we obey him? We aren't going to get to heaven and have God say, "Thanks for talking about doing so much for me with your friends. That was awesome!" Many of us have sat in Bible studies or retreats or church talking about what we want to change and how we want to live for God, only to go home and back to the routine of life. Change is a funny thing. It takes change to change. ~ Jennie Allen
Forgetting To Live quotes by Jennie Allen
Sometimes it's better to live without a mother than not to live at all. ~ Glenda Millard
Forgetting To Live quotes by Glenda Millard
Should I become President ... I will not risk American lives ... by permitting any other nation to drag us into the wrong war at the wrong place at the wrong time through an unwise commitment that is unwise militarily, unnecessary to our security and unsupported by our allies. ~ John F. Kennedy
Forgetting To Live quotes by John F. Kennedy
There will always be enemies in life, and sometimes you can be your own worst enemy. The life I once lived was fueled with pain and hate. If I can give you two pieces of advice, it would be to not live in fear or anger, and to find the love of a good woman who accepts you for your faults, and because of her, you aspire to be a noble man who is worthy of love. ~ Dannika Dark
Forgetting To Live quotes by Dannika Dark
You are a sinner and a heathen," he said. Akua nodded. The teachers had told them this before. "Your mother had no husband when she came here to me, pregnant, begging for help. I helped her because that is what God would have wanted me to do. But she was a sinner and heathen, like you."
Again Akua nodded. The fear was starting to settle somewhere in her stomach, making her feel nauseated.
"All people on the black continent must give up their heathenism and turn to God. Be thankful that the British are here to show you how to live a good and moral life. ~ Yaa Gyasi
Forgetting To Live quotes by Yaa Gyasi
Truth is Evidence of Love. And, Nothing Can Stop the Power of Trusting and Loving Unconditionally. ~ Amaka Imani Nkosazana
Forgetting To Live quotes by Amaka Imani Nkosazana
It took six weeks of debate in the Senate to get the Arms Embargo Law repealed
and we face other delays during the present session because most of the Members of the Congress are thinking in terms of next Autumn's election. However, that is one of the prices that we who live in democracies have to pay. It is, however, worth paying, if all of us can avoid the type of government under which the unfortunate population of Germany and Russia must exist. ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt
Forgetting To Live quotes by Franklin D. Roosevelt
One of history's fews iron laws is that luxuries tend to become necessities and to spawn new obligations. Once people get used to a certain luxury, they take it for granted. Then they begin to count on it. Finally they reach a point where they can't live without it. Over the few decades, we have invented countless time saving machines that are supposed to make like more relaxed - washing machines, vacuum cleaners, dishwashers, telephones, mobile phones, computers, email. We thought we were saving time; instead we revved up the treadmill of life to ten times its former speed and made our days more anxious and agitated. ~ Yuval Noah Harari
Forgetting To Live quotes by Yuval Noah Harari
The Lord Almighty leads this Church, and he will never suffer you to be led astray if you are found doing your duty. You may go home and sleep as sweetly as a babe in its mother's arms, as to any danger of your leaders leading you astray, for if they should try to do so the Lord would quickly sweep them from the earth. Your leaders are trying to live their religion as far as they are capable of doing so ~ Brigham Young
Forgetting To Live quotes by Brigham Young
Just because you can't see my injury doesn't mean I don't have one. Traumatic Brain Injuries take many forms, from the person who lives their life with few problems to those who live in a vegetative state. I'm thankful that my accident didn't take my ability to walk and talk. I pray for those whose injury is more severe than mine. Still, my brain injury has taken a lot from me and I live with its affects everyday. ~ Lyla Jo
Forgetting To Live quotes by Lyla Jo
For a long time, the church in America has assumed that its cultural conservatism was American, that most people at least ideally wanted to live up to our conception of the good life. Those with eyes to see ought to recognize that if those days ever existed, they are no more. ~ Russell D. Moore
Forgetting To Live quotes by Russell D. Moore
You make me want to taste life the way you do. You live with your heart wide-open, and give of yourself, even when no one would blame you if you didn't. You inspire me to be better. ~ Maggi Myers
Forgetting To Live quotes by Maggi Myers
Writing is, by its nature, interior work. So being forced to be around people is a great gift for a novelist. You get to be reminded, daily, of how people think, how they speak, how they live; the things they worry about, the things they hope for, the things they fear. ~ Hanya Yanagihara
Forgetting To Live quotes by Hanya Yanagihara
The purpose of life is to live. The meaning of life is whatever you choose. The secret to life is balance in all things ... ~ James A. Murphy
Forgetting To Live quotes by James A. Murphy
(Quoted in Dennis Okholm's Monk Habits for Everyday People) Settle down in your room at a moment when you have nothing else to do. Say "I am now with myself," and just sit with yourself. After an amazingly short time you will most likely feel bored. This teaches us one very useful thing. It gives us insight into the fact that if after ten minutes of being alone with ourselves we feel like that, it is no wonder that others should feel equally bored! Why is this so? It is so because we have so little to offer to our own selves as food for thought, for emotion and for life. If you watch your life carefully you will discover quite soon that we hardly ever live from within outwards; instead we respond to incitement, to excitement. In other words, we live by reflection, by reaction... We are completely empty, we do not act from within ourselves but accept as our life a life which is actually fed in from the outside; we are used to things happening which compel us to do other things. How seldom can we live simply by means of the depth and the richness we assume that there is within ourselves. ~ Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom) Of Sourozh
Forgetting To Live quotes by Metropolitan Anthony (Bloom) Of Sourozh
She had the perpetual sense, as she watched the taxi cabs, of being out, out, far out to sea and alone; she always had the feeling that it was very, very, dangerous to live even one day. ~ Virginia Woolf
Forgetting To Live quotes by Virginia Woolf
Whitman himself "accepted" a great deal that his contemporaries found unmentionable. For he is not only writing of the prairie, he also wanders through the city and notes the shattered skull of the suicide, the "grey sick faces of onanists," etc., etc. But unquestionably our own age, at any rate in Western Europe, is less healthy and less hopeful than the age in which Whitman was writing. Unlike Whitman, we live in a shrinking world. The "democratic vistas" have ended in barbed wire. There is less feeling of creation and growth, less and less emphasis on the cradle, endlessly rocking, more and more emphasis on the teapot, endlessly stewing. To accept civilisation as it is practically means accepting decay. It has ceased to be a strenuous attitude and become a passive attitude - even "decadent," if that word means anything. ~ George Orwell
Forgetting To Live quotes by George Orwell
Generally, in the long history of storytelling, there has been a move from almost total emphasis on acting––in the myth form, where the audience learns simply by modeling themselves on the hero's actions––to a heavy emphasis on learning, in which the audience's concern is to figure out what is happening, who these people really are, and what events really transpired, before achieving full understanding of how to live a good life. ~ John Truby
Forgetting To Live quotes by John Truby
The perfect adventure shouldn't be that much more hazardous in a real sense than ordinary life, for that invisible rope that holds us here can always break. We can live a life of bored caution and die of cancer. Better to take the adventure, minimize the risks, get the information, and then go forward in the knowledge that we've done everything we can. No, ~ Laurence Gonzales
Forgetting To Live quotes by Laurence Gonzales
I don't want to live with regrets," Eddie tells Josh. ~ Thomas Grant Bruso
Forgetting To Live quotes by Thomas Grant Bruso
The world will become only as great a place to live in as we make it. ~ Sharad Vivek Sagar
Forgetting To Live quotes by Sharad Vivek Sagar
I believe in past lives but I know nothing about mine and I don't want to know. I live in the present, taking one day at a time. ~ Uri Geller
Forgetting To Live quotes by Uri Geller
Give God the margin of eternity to justify Himself in, and the more we live and know of our own souls and of spiritual experience generally, the more we shall be convinced that we have to do with one who is good and just. ~ Hugh Reginald Haweis
Forgetting To Live quotes by Hugh Reginald Haweis
Live your best life....let your Inner Goddess out to Play! ~ Paula Weisflock
Forgetting To Live quotes by Paula Weisflock
Comedy, it's a way for me to keep my acting chops. It's like a free acting class, to get up in front of a live audience. You get to have fun telling stories. ~ Gabrielle Dennis
Forgetting To Live quotes by Gabrielle Dennis
Down these mean streets a man must go who is not himself mean, who is neither tarnished nor afraid. He is the hero; he is everything. He must be a complete man and a common man and yet an unusual man. He must be, to use a rather weathered phrase, a man of honor - by instinct, by inevitability, without thought of it, and certainly without saying it. He must be the best man in his world and a good enough man for any world.
"He will take no man's money dishonestly and no man's insolence without a due and dispassionate revenge. He is a lonely man and his pride is that you will treat him as a proud man or be very sorry you ever saw him.
"The story is this man's adventure in search of a hidden truth, and it would be no adventure if it did not happen to a man fit for adventure. If there were enough like him, the world would be a very safe place to live in, without becoming too dull to be worth living in. ~ Raymond Chandler
Forgetting To Live quotes by Raymond Chandler
I wish I could believe in Druids' otherworld, where other people go when they die here, where they can live another life."
"And then come back to this world when they die there, over and over again. It does sound comforting"
"Except for one thing" Zachary's finger wound in my hair. "This is the only life I ever want. ~ Jeri Smith-Ready
Forgetting To Live quotes by Jeri Smith-Ready
Every day try to help uplift physically, mentally, or spiritually suffering people, as you would help yourself
or your family. If, instead of living in the misery-making selfish way, you live according to the laws of God, then, no matter what small part you may be playing on the stage of life, you will know that you have been playing your part correctly, as directed by the Stage Manager of all our destinies. Your part, however small, is just as important as the biggest parts in contributing to the success of the Drama of Souls on the Stage of Life. Make a little money and be satisfied with it by living a simple life and expressing your ideals, rather than make lots of money and have worries without end. ~ Paramahansa Yogananda
Forgetting To Live quotes by Paramahansa Yogananda
I hope one day to be better, and I'm pretty sure I will be. I hope one day I live in a world where the personal fight for mental stability is viewed with pride and public cheers instead of shame. I hope it for you too. ~ Jenny Lawson
Forgetting To Live quotes by Jenny Lawson
People who watch and do not want to be watched, people who listen and do not want to talk, people who live vicariously, are just perverts, and no one should want them around. ~ Natasha Stagg
Forgetting To Live quotes by Natasha Stagg
We grow up with such an idealistic view on how our life should be; love, friendships, a career or even the place we will live ~ only to age and realise none of it is what you expected & reality is a little disheartening, when you've reached that realisation; you have learnt the gift of all, any new beginning can start now and if you want anything bad enough you'll find the courage to pursue it with all you have. The past doesn't have to be the future, stop making it so. ~ Nikki Rowe
Forgetting To Live quotes by Nikki Rowe
Why was it considered normal for a girl to live for fashion and makeup, but not car engines or bugs? And what about sports fanatics? My mom had a boyfriend who would flip out if he missed even a minute of a football game. Wouldn't that be what doctors considered autistic behavior? ~ Tara Kelly
Forgetting To Live quotes by Tara Kelly
Most of what's known about religious practices in pre-Hispanic Mexico has come to us through a Catholic parish priest named Hernando Ruiz de Alarcón, one of the few who ever became fluent in the Nahuatl language. He spent the 1620s writing his "Treatise on the Superstitions and Heathen Customs that Today Live Among the Indians Native to This New Spain". He'd originally meant it to be something of a "field guide to the heathens" to help priests recognize and exterminate indigenous religious rites and their practitioners. In the process of his documentation, though, it's clear from his writings that Father Ruiz de Alarcón grew sympathetic. He was particularly fascinated with how Nahuatl people celebrated the sacred in ordinary objects, and encouraged living and spirit realities to meet up in the here and now. He noted that the concept of "death" as an ending did not exactly exist for them. When Aztec people left their bodies, they were presumed to be on an exciting trip through the ether. It wasn't something to cry about, except that the living still wanted to visit with them. People's sadness was not for the departed, but for themselves, and could be addressed through ritual visiting called Xantolo, an ordinary communion between the dead and the living. Mexican tradition still holds that Xantolo is always present in certain places and activities, including marigold fields, the cultivation of corn, the preparation of tamales and pan de muerto. Interestingly, farmers' markets ar ~ Barbara Kingsolver
Forgetting To Live quotes by Barbara Kingsolver
Looking for trouble, he'd say. You're gonna look til you find it.
Trouble is the looker, she'd answer. It keeps looking till it finds you. Might as well find it first.
Why do you want to die?
I don't, she'd say. I just want to live. ~ Victoria Schwab
Forgetting To Live quotes by Victoria Schwab
To live sanely in Los Angeles ... you have to cultivate the art of staying awake. You must learn to resist (firmly but not tensely) the unceasing hypnotic suggestions of the radio, the billboards, the movies and the newspapers; those demon voices which are forever whispering in your ear what you should desire, what you should fear, what you should wear and eat and drink and enjoy, what you should think and do and be. ~ Christopher Isherwood
Forgetting To Live quotes by Christopher Isherwood
B-but I am too tired for much hatred, monsieur. I have to get along in the world, or I w-w-won't live to see the end of this war. ~ Kate Quinn
Forgetting To Live quotes by Kate Quinn
The colors live a remarkable life of their own after they have been applied to the canvas. ~ Edvard Munch
Forgetting To Live quotes by Edvard Munch
Now, now, Auntie, you had better play nice with my dearest Bianca. I have not invited her to live in one of my homes. I have welcomed her into all of them. And though I know it would break your heart if anything were to ever happen to me, you will be beholden to this angel to cover your living expenses when I pass away, as she will be my sole inheritor. ~ R.K. Lilley
Forgetting To Live quotes by R.K. Lilley
With gray thread Beezus carefully outlined the steam coming from the teakettle's spout and thought about her pretty young aunt, who was always so gay and so understanding. No wonder she was Mother's favorite sister. Beezus hoped to be exactly like Aunt Beatrice when she grew up. She wanted to be a fourth-grade teacher and drive a yellow convertible and live in an apartment house with an elevator and a buzzer that opened the front door. Because she was named after Aunt Beatrice, Beezus felt she might be like her in other ways, too. ~ Beverly Cleary
Forgetting To Live quotes by Beverly Cleary
Leena and Kelly Davidson have always lived a comfortable life. Neither girl has ever held a job nor did they intend to get one. All they wanted was to live off their parents' money for their rest of their lives. What could be better than that? ~ Valenciya Lyons
