Authenticity requires us to slow down. Fast times require us to slow down. To be effective, we need to slow down our pace of thought and action and focus on managing our attention. To be authentic leaders we need to act from intention and choice rather than from habit and impulse. ~ Henna Inam
Fast Times quotes by Henna Inam
I can say when it comes to championships it's a tactical race and normally you don't have a pacesetter who can set a pace for fast times. That is why you see that obviously we fall around 1:43 because that is the most favorable one can run from the front. ~ David Rudisha
Fast Times quotes by David Rudisha
I've always wanted to do a movie that takes place in the 70's and was about rock and roll and getting high, like Dazed and Confused or Fast Times at Ridgemont High. ~ Edward Furlong
Fast Times quotes by Edward Furlong
The ones [comedies] that I always liked, whether it's Terms of Endearment, Broadcast News, or Fast Times of Ridgemont High, they were all about two hours, or a little bit over two hours. With that extra 15 or 20 minutes, you can get to real character and you're not just stuck in plot. ~ Judd Apatow
Fast Times quotes by Judd Apatow
My first film as an actor was 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High,' a glorious experience that spoiled me for future films. ~ Eric Stoltz
Fast Times quotes by Eric Stoltz
When I did 'Fast Times,' I felt very close emotionally to the characters. I liked those characters because they all had to work, so they were dealing with adult problems even though they were very immature, and I could relate to that. ~ Amy Heckerling
Fast Times quotes by Amy Heckerling
All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine ~ Sean Penn
Fast Times quotes by Sean Penn
Change came so slowly you never noticed it creeping up on you, or far too fast for comfort, but it came. ~ Robert Jordan
Fast Times quotes by Robert Jordan
Any life partner whom I choose must be willing to choose me in return, above all others, to hold fast in the face of any opposition, and to suffer no barrier to come between us. ~ Elaine Owen
Fast Times quotes by Elaine Owen
Love in the real world means saying you're sorry 10 times a day. ~ Kathie Lee Gifford
Fast Times quotes by Kathie Lee Gifford
Charles Spurgeon used to say, "Little faith will take your soul to heaven, but great faith will bring heaven to your soul." It is not enough that we long for heaven during times of suffering, for anybody can do that. What Peter urged his readers to do was exercise love, faith, and rejoicing, so that they might experience some of the glory of heaven in the midst of suffering now. ~ Warren W. Wiersbe
Fast Times quotes by Warren W. Wiersbe
One feature film that I am most proud of is Forrest Gump which starred Tom Hanks. Once you are called out to work in film, yes it is a small industry and your name gets around pretty fast. ~ Leland Sklar
Fast Times quotes by Leland Sklar
It winna dee ye ony good, it disna ring. The salt fae the sea ruins the wiring, fast as I fix it. Besides,' said the man, as he came up to join us, 'I'm nae in the hoose tae be hearin ye, am I? ~ Susanna Kearsley
Fast Times quotes by Susanna Kearsley
Ben stands just behind me, and we begin to wedge out a fresh piece of clay. I try my best to concentrate, to ignore the fact that my heart is beating at five times its normal speed. I watch his arms as he kneads the clay - almost a little too hard - and as the muscles in his forearms flex. "That's good," I say, in an effort to stay focused. I dip a sponge into a bowl of water and squeeze the droplets down over his hands to keep things moist.
After several minutes, Ben lets me take the lead. I place my palms over the clay mound and close my eyes. Meanwhile, Ben's chest grazes my shoulders, and his clay-soaked fingers stroke the length of my arms.
"You're doing great," he whispers in my ear.
We continue to sculpt for another hour, working the mound down into a flattened surface - until we have a total of four tiles.
And until I can no longer hold myself back.
I turn around to face him.
"Camelia?" He squints slightly.
I bite my lip, wishing that he could read my mind, and that he would kiss me until my lips ache. "What are you thinking?" I ask, slipping my hand inside the waistband of his jeans and pulling him closer. ~ Laurie Faria Stolarz
Fast Times quotes by Laurie Faria Stolarz
Och, Christ, woman," he hissed. Devouring the space between them in two strides, he cupped her jaw with one big hand, tipped her face up, and claimed her mouth in a kiss. Once, twice, three times. Then he drew back and glared down at her. "I thought you were dead. I couldn't fucking get out of there and I thought of a thousand things I'd done wrong and imagined a million deaths for you. Kiss me, Jessica. Show me you're alive. ~ Karen Marie Moning
Fast Times quotes by Karen Marie Moning
Jesus, thank you for remembering the truth faithfully on our behalf. You worshiped your Father daily, with unwavering faith and unshakable hope in his goodness. Cherishing the Father's unchangeable character, you submitted to his perfect wisdom and trusted him completely in all the circumstances of your life, even when it was most painful. You took refuge in him often in your times of need and never turned toward false gods. Now your obedience becomes our strong encouragement to hope in the midst of continuing weakness, and you continue to advocate our cause as our heavenly High Priest. We have no other hope, nor do we need one. ~ Barbara R. Duguid
Fast Times quotes by Barbara R. Duguid
I like to be as free as possible at all times. ~ Christina Aguilera
Fast Times quotes by Christina Aguilera
Concepts of memory tend to reflect the technology of the times. Plato and Aristotle saw memories as thoughts inscribed on wax tablets that could be erased easily and used again. These days, we tend to think of memory as a camera or a video recorder, filming, storing, and recycling the vast troves of data we accumulate throughout our lives. In practice, though, every memory we retain depends upon a chain of chemical interactions that connect millions of neurons to one another. Those neurons never touch; instead, they communicate through tiny gaps, or synapses, that surround each of them. Every neuron has branching filaments, called dendrites, that receive chemical signals from other nerve cells and send the information across the synapse to the body of the next cell. The typical human brain has trillions of these connections. When we learn something, chemicals in the brain strengthen the synapses that connect neurons. Long-term memories, built from new proteins, change those synaptic networks constantly; inevitably, some grow weaker and others, as they absorb new information, grow more powerful. ~ Michael Specter
Fast Times quotes by Michael Specter
Simone W eil has said that though a person may run as fast as he can away from Christ, if it is toward what he considers true, he runs in fact straight into the arms of Christ. Much ~ Alexander Schmemann
Fast Times quotes by Alexander Schmemann
Oh, that God would purge away my dross, and take away my tin, and refine me seven times. ~ Jonathan Edwards
Fast Times quotes by Jonathan Edwards
Tisiphone stood silent and helpless in Alicia's mind. It was all she could do to keep Alicia's blind savagery from dragging Megaira under and clouding the lightning-fast reflexes which kept them both alive.
She'd never guessed what she was creating, never imagined the monster she'd spawned. She'd seen the power of Alicia DeVries's mind without recognizing the controls which kept that power in check, and only now had she begun to understand fully what she had done.
She had shattered those controls. The compassion and mercy she'd feared no longer existed, only the red, ravening hunger. Yet terrible as that might be, there was worse. She'd found the hole Alicia had gnawed through the wall about her inner rage, and she couldn't close it. Somehow, without even realizing it was possible, Alicia had reached beyond herself. She'd followed Tisiphone's connection to the Fury's own rage, her own destruction, and made that incalculable power hers as well.
For the first time in millennia, Tisiphone faced another as powerful as herself, a mortal mind which had stolen the power of the Furies themselves, and that power had driven it mad. ~ David Weber
Fast Times quotes by David Weber
I should rip your eyes out," Newt said, spraying Thomas with spit. "Teach you a lesson in stupidity.
Why'd you come over here? You expected a bloody hug? Huh? A nice sit-down to talk about the good
times in the Glade? ~ James Dashner
Fast Times quotes by James Dashner
Christ comes as a thief in the night, & it is not for us to know the times & seasons which God hath put into his own breast. ~ Isaac Newton
Fast Times quotes by Isaac Newton
I wrestled futilely, then relaxed as a vine wrapped three times around my throat and squeezed.
Right," I choked out, and shut my eyes. "I'll wait here, then. ~ Rachel Caine
Fast Times quotes by Rachel Caine
We were riding fast, I got lost in the thought that this couldn't end. Good things end. Bad things we reminisce. ~ Dominic Riccitello
Fast Times quotes by Dominic Riccitello
Oh, never mind the fashion. When one has a style of one's own, it is always twenty times better. ~ Margaret Oliphant
Fast Times quotes by Margaret Oliphant

There are times when I doubt everything. When I regret everything you've taken from me, everything I've given you, and the waste of all the time I've spent on us. ~ David Levithan
Fast Times quotes by David Levithan
It was always tough, but today we are in the throes of something we have never seen in our history. It's clear in recent times the market is looking for a bottom. ~ Sumner Redstone
Fast Times quotes by Sumner Redstone
I am myself a dissenter from all known religions, and I hope that every kind of religious belief will die out. I do not believe that, on the balance, religious belief has been a force for good. Although I am prepared to admit that in certain times and places it has had some good effects, I regard it as belonging to the infancy of human reason, and to a stage of development which we are now outgrowing. ~ Bertrand Russell
Fast Times quotes by Bertrand Russell
Deep beneath the surface of the Sun, enormous forces were gathering. At any moment, the energies of a million hydrogen bombs might burst forth in the awesome explosion ... Climbing at millions of miles per hour, an invisible fireball many times the size of Earth would leap from the Sun and head out across space. ~ Arthur C. Clarke
Fast Times quotes by Arthur C. Clarke
How many times, over how many years, had he - a grown man - asked for the mercy of another chance? He was suddenly so sick of himself, so revolted, that he could have groaned aloud. ~ Stephen King
Fast Times quotes by Stephen King
Befriending the life in others is sometimes a complex matter. There are times when we offer our strength and protection, but these are usually only temporary measures. The greatest blessing we offer others may be the belief we have in their struggle for freedom, the courage to support and accompany them as they determine for themselves the strength that will become their refuge and the foundation for their lives. I think it is especially important to believe in someone at a time when they cannot yet believe in themselves. Then your belief will become their lifeline. ~ Rachel Naomi Remen
Fast Times quotes by Rachel Naomi Remen
At this point in our global ecological crisis, the survival of humanity will require a fundamental shift in our attitude toward nature: from finding out how we can dominate and manipulate nature to how we can learn from her. In this brilliant and hopeful book, Jay Harman shows us how far the new field of Biomimicry has already progressed toward this goal. The Shark's Paintbrush makes for fascinating and joyful reading - much needed in these dark times. ~ Fritjof Capra
Fast Times quotes by Fritjof Capra
My story testifies to the truth that we must never give up on people, no matter how many times they fail or how long recovery takes. We must never underestimate the healing power of prayer and love in the hands of the Lord. We must never give up hope. ~ Walt Heyer
Fast Times quotes by Walt Heyer
The likelihood of getting lost is directly proportional to the number of times the direction-giver says, 'You can't miss it'. ~ Hal Roach
Fast Times quotes by Hal Roach
J..You are the love of my life..of my forever. Words cannot express what you mean to me, but i'll tell you a hundred times a day for the rest of my life. I love you. R ~ Kahlen Aymes
Fast Times quotes by Kahlen Aymes
When you become a soldier for God, times are going to be hard. You will feel defeat, suffering and sorrow. But it will be the most fulfilling, exciting, adventure you will ever experience. You will know what it means to feel truly alive. ~ Rachel Hamilton
Fast Times quotes by Rachel Hamilton
Most of Arbus's work lies within the Warhol aesthetic, that is, defines itself in relation to the twin poles of boringness and freakishness; but it doesn't have the Warhol style. Arbus had neither Warhol's narcissism and genius for publicity nor the self-protective blandness with which he insulates himself from the freaky nor his sentimentality. It is unlikey that Warhol, who comes from a working-class family, ever felt any ambivalence toward success which afflicted the children of the Jewish upper middle classes in the 1960s. To someone raised as a Catholic, like Warhol (and virtually everyone in his gang), a fascination with evil comes much more genuinely than it does to someone from a Jewish background. Compared with Warhol, Arbus seems strikingly vulnerable, innocent--and certainly more pessimistic. Her Dantesque vision of the city (and the suburbs) has no reserves of irony. Although much of Arbus's material is the same as that depicted in, say, Warhol's Chelsea Girls (1966)...For Arbus, both freaks and Middle America were equally exotic: a boy marching in a pro-war parade and a Levittown housewife were as alien as a dwarf or a transvestite; lower-middle-class suburbia was as remote as Times Square, lunatic asylums, and gay bars. Arbus's work expressed her turn against what was public (as she experienced it), conventional, safe, reassuring--and boring--in favor of what was private, hidden, ugly, dangerous, and fascinating. These contrasts, now, seem almost quaint. What is ~ Susan Sontag
Fast Times quotes by Susan Sontag
Childhood may have periods of great happiness, but it also has times that must simply be endured. Childhood at its best is a form of slavery tempered by affection. ~ Robertson Davies
Fast Times quotes by Robertson Davies
Take a good look at the times. It is inevitable that greedy men, who close their eyes and obstruct the tide of the times with their selfishness, will be burned up together with the fallen leaves. ~ Eiji Yoshikawa
Fast Times quotes by Eiji Yoshikawa
Bad news travels fast. Good news takes the scenic route. ~ Doug Larson
Fast Times quotes by Doug Larson
I like blogs. they're good times. ~ Jennifer Weiner
Fast Times quotes by Jennifer Weiner
I have not failed 700 times. I have not failed once. I have succeeded in proving that those 700 ways will not work. When I have eliminated the ways that will not work, I will find the way that will work. ~ Thomas A. Edison
Fast Times quotes by Thomas A. Edison
