Like you, I grew up in a remote animist village. But then I went to a strict Catholic education in France. I was perfectly content to accept the grand Shee Yee of the Otherworld and the Lord B, and Jesus and his mother as my spiritual icons as long as I didn't have to spend too long on my knees. I would have settled for a committee. I just wanted order. But once I started to see my own ghosts I understood what these religions were all about. They were clubs set up by people like me to stop themselves from going mad. You know what I really think happens? You die. You wait for your number. There's a bit of time to take care of unfinished business. And you pass on. And, as you don't come back, nobody actually knows what you pass on to. But that description has never been acceptable. People want an ending. They don't want to vanish into thin air. So these great religious gurus made some endings up. The more comfortable and happy your ending, the more members signed up and paid their fees. And the kings and emperors started to add rules and regulations to subjugate the commoners and keep them in line. As so they invented hell and told you if you coveted your neighbor's mule you wouldn't even get into the clubhouse at the end of it all. ~ Colin Cotterill
Catholic Education quotes by Colin Cotterill
Thankfully, I was able to go to Marquette University and get my education, a Catholic education, so I could please my family, because I think they wanted me to be a priest. ~ Danny Pudi
Catholic Education quotes by Danny Pudi
How decisive for the Christian educator, or for any educator of good will, is the revelation that man is made in the image and likeness of the three-Personed God? That is like asking what difference it will make to us if we keep in mind that a human being is made not for the processing of data, but for wisdom; not for the utilitarian satisfaction of appetite, but for love; not for the domination of nature, but for participation in it; not for the autonomy of an isolated self, but for communion. ~ Anthony Esolen
Catholic Education quotes by Anthony Esolen
The difference between a regular Catholic education and a Jesuit education is the difference between the army and the marines. ~ Gary Reilly
Catholic Education quotes by Gary Reilly

Catholic Education quotes by Nancy Pelosi
There was no known cure for a Catholic education. ~ Lisa Scottoline
Catholic Education quotes by Lisa Scottoline
My father was Catholic, and my mother wanted me to go to Catholic school. That's what I did in first grade. But she couldn't afford the payments. I think it must have hurt her a lot, not to be able to give me a Catholic education. ~ Edward P. Jones
Catholic Education quotes by Edward P. Jones
Whenever you find someone full of hate, purify him with forgiveness, bliss and love. ~ Debasish Mridha
Catholic Education quotes by Debasish Mridha
Because of dreams, life is worth living. ~ Debasish Mridha
Catholic Education quotes by Debasish Mridha
The role of the schoolmaster is to collect little plastic lumps of human dough from private households and shape them on the social kneading board. ~ Edward Alsworth Ross
Catholic Education quotes by Edward Alsworth Ross
I am an atheist and I consider religions to be a form of collective neurosis. I am not an enemy of the Catholics, as I am not an enemy of the tuberculars, the myopic or the paralytics; you cannot be an enemy of the sick, only their good friend in order to help them cure themselves. ~ Diego Rivera
Catholic Education quotes by Diego Rivera
Every inch of my writing career has been influenced by my screenwriting education. I was lucky enough to go to film school at USC, and I got a crash course in how to tell a story efficiently. I learned structure, pace, my style, how to know your audience, and most importantly, how to take criticism and edits properly. ~ Victoria Aveyard
Catholic Education quotes by Victoria Aveyard
I can say without affectation that I belong to the Russian convict world no less than I do to Russian literature. I got my education there, and it will last forever. ~ Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Catholic Education quotes by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Catholic Education quotes by Debasish Mridha
Experience burned into me the conviction that access to education ought to be based on how much you are willing to learn and how hard you are willing to work, not on how many dollars your family has in their bank account. ~ Dave Obey
Catholic Education quotes by Dave Obey
Not all readers become leaders, but all leaders must be readers. ~ Harry Truman
Catholic Education quotes by Harry Truman

Catholic Education quotes by Eraldo Banovac
There is no tool for development more effective than the education of girls and the empowerment of women ... When women are fully involved, the benefits can be seen immediately: families are healthier; they are better fed; their income, savings, and reinvestment go up. And what is true of families is true of communities and, eventually, whole countries. ~ Kofi Annan
Catholic Education quotes by Kofi Annan
I am certain of nothing but the truth of imagination. ~ Debasish Mridha
Catholic Education quotes by Debasish Mridha
I could teach an eighth-grader in twenty minutes how to brief a case. Yet for all three years in most law schools the casebook method of learning the law is still in. The matriculating young lawyer is as qualified to represent a client with the education he has suffered through as a doctor who has never seen a patient, who has never held a scalpel in his hand and who learns surgery by having read text books about it and becomes skilled in surgery, if ever, after having stacked up piles of corpses who represent his pathetic learning process. ~ Gerry Spence
Catholic Education quotes by Gerry Spence
I remember my grandfather believed women were second-class citizens and told my mother that it was a shame she had brains because she was a girl and shouldn't carry on her education. ~ Sarah Gavron
Catholic Education quotes by Sarah Gavron
A good education isn't the same thing as making the whole damn world something to be explained! ~ Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Catholic Education quotes by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
In itself this Christian education is partly the product of the retreat of biblical scholarship from the faith community to the academy. In removing themselves to the academy biblical scholars have ceased to engage with the people of the issues of the contemporary faith context. ~ Janet Lees (p. 84). In Reading Other-Wise ~ Gerald O. West
Catholic Education quotes by Gerald O. West
Most faculty spend a lot of time thinking about content and what to cover, but content delivery is not the core strength of a university, just as it is not for newspapers. The core strength of a university is integration. ~ Jose Antonio Bowen
Catholic Education quotes by Jose Antonio Bowen
With Michigan's economic future on the line, we can't afford to have our 500 local school districts marching in different directions. Instead, we need a high standards, mandatory curriculum to get all our students on the road to higher education and a good paying job. ~ Jennifer Granholm
Catholic Education quotes by Jennifer Granholm
A good problem should be more than a mere exercise; it should be challenging and not too easily solved by the student, and it should require some "dreaming" time. ~ Howard Whitley Eves
Catholic Education quotes by Howard Whitley Eves
I was raised Irish Catholic and went to Holy Names Academy, an all-girl's private Catholic school. I loved the nuns there and I love them to this day. ~ Kitty Kelley
Catholic Education quotes by Kitty Kelley
The biggest problem of the world is not lack of education but brainwashing of innocent children by the religion institutes in the name of education. Brainwashing of innocent children no less a violence. ~ Amit Ray

Last Fall, for example, 91 percent of the Indian children between the ages of 6 and 18 on reservations were enrolled in school. This is a rise of 12 percent since 1953. ~ Dwight D. Eisenhower
Catholic Education quotes by Dwight D. Eisenhower
As a result of all his education, from everything he hears and sees around him, the child absorbs such a lot of lies and foolish nonsense, mixed in with essential truths, that the first duty of the adolescent who wants to be a healthy man is to disgorge it all. ~ Romain Rolland
Catholic Education quotes by Romain Rolland
