Without education, we are in a horrible and deadly danger of taking educated people seriously. ~ G.K. Chesterton
Bushmen People quotes by G.K. Chesterton
Was everybody seeing this stuff and acting as though they weren't? Was insanity just a matter of dropping the act? If some people didn't see these things, what was the matter with them? Were they blind or something? ~ Susanna Kaysen
Bushmen People quotes by Susanna Kaysen
We wish to learn all the curious, outlandish ways of all the different countries, so that we can "show off" and astonish people when we get home. We wish to excite the envy of our untraveled friends with our strange foreign fashions which we can't shake off. ~ Mark Twain
Bushmen People quotes by Mark Twain
I jumped in the mosh pit, and some kid punched me in the chin, so I swung on ceiling pipes and kicked people in the head. ~ Ned Vizzini
Bushmen People quotes by Ned Vizzini
[A]s a proportion of the labor force, fewer individuals manipulate things , more handle people and symbols . ~ C. Wright Mills
Bushmen People quotes by C. Wright Mills
The overwhelming condemnation makes it clear we have made enormous progress in teaching everyone that racism is bad. Where we seem to have dropped the ball ... is in teaching people what racism actually is ... which allows people to say incredibly racist things while insisting they would never. ~ Jon Stewart
Bushmen People quotes by Jon Stewart
People are always casting me for what they call my 'authority.' ~ Linda Hunt
Bushmen People quotes by Linda Hunt
Just keep learning from the role and not just go for the money. ~ Haley Joel Osment
Bushmen People quotes by Haley Joel Osment
The Constitution limits the role of government. The Constitution enumerates the freedoms of the people and enforces those freedoms against government, making sure government cannot encroach. ~ Rush Limbaugh
Bushmen People quotes by Rush Limbaugh
People, in whatever walk of life, would be surprised if they just gave themselves a chance by believing in what they are. ~ Hale Irwin
Bushmen People quotes by Hale Irwin
Football is for the fans. It can be the greatest game in the world but if there are no people to watch it, it becomes nothing. The fans are the lifeblood of the game. ~ Jock Stein
Bushmen People quotes by Jock Stein
The way I saw it, people are like leaves that have fallen into a swift-moving stream. As the leaves get carried downstream, some are caught in rocks and never get any farther. Some are swept to shore. Others - the lucky ones - keep going, missing the stones, staying clear of the shore, staying afloat until they reach the river delta and break free into open water. ~ Tony Curtis
Bushmen People quotes by Tony Curtis
Stories are for people what water is for plants. ~ Linda Hogan
Bushmen People quotes by Linda Hogan
I think if you look all across the country, the so-called Blue Dogs are all gone to kennel. There are no more Blue Dogs, they're called Republicans. People would rather elect consistently conservative Republicans than Blue Dogs, who are only conservative when it's convenient. ~ Timothy Griffin
Bushmen People quotes by Timothy Griffin
Who is a bad man and who is a good man? What is the definition? The bad man is one who is inconsiderate of others. The bad man is one who uses others and has no respect for others. The bad man is one who thinks he is the center of the world and everybody is just to be used. Everything exists for him. The bad man is one who thinks that other persons are just means for his gratification.

Keep this definition in mind because you ordinarily think the bad man is the criminal. The bad man may not be the criminal: all bad men are not criminals. All criminals are bad, but all bad men are not criminals. A few of them are judges, a few of them are very respectable people, a few of them are politicians, presidents and prime ministers, a few of them are even parading as saints.

So when we will be talking about this sutra, remember the definition of a bad man - Buddha says a bad man is one who has no consideration for others. He simply thinks about himself only - he thinks he is the center of existence and he feels the whole existence is made for him. He feels authorized to sacrifice everybody for his own self. He may not be bad ordinarily, but if this is the attitude, then he is a bad man.

Who is a good man? Just the opposite of the bad man: one who is considerate of others, who gives as much respect to others as he gives to himself, and who does not pretend in any way that he is the center of the world, and who has come to feel that everybody is the cent ~ Osho
Bushmen People quotes by Osho
I think too many people, if you are 46 you want to look 36, and if you're 36 you want to look 26. I didn't want to do that. I've earned the gray hairs. So I wanted to show that level of honesty. ~ Eric Church
Bushmen People quotes by Eric Church
When I was going into acting, my mom said, "You can't let that faze you. And if it does faze you, if you start getting upset if people say no, that's it - pull the plug." ~ Nicola Peltz
Bushmen People quotes by Nicola Peltz
I think some people found the production took away from the actual songs, which I can understand. ~ Emma Anderson
Bushmen People quotes by Emma Anderson
To believe straight away is foolishness, to believe after having seen clearly is good sense. That is the Buddhist policy in belief; not to believe stupidly, or to rely only on people, textbooks, conjecture, reasoning, or whatever the majority believes, but rather to believe what we see clearly for ourselves to be the case. This is how it is in Buddhism. ~ Buddhadasa
Bushmen People quotes by Buddhadasa
It would take me all night to tell about Old Bull Lee; let's just say now, he was a teacher, and it may be said that he had every right to teach because he spent all his time learning; and the things he learned were what he considered to be and called "the facts of life," which he learned, not only out of necessity but because he wanted to. He dragged his long, thin body around the entire United States and most of Europe and North Africa in his time, only to see what was going on.... there are pictures of him with the international cocaine set of the thirties - gangs with wild hair, leaning on one another, there are other pictures of him in a Panama hat, surveying the streets of Algiers.... He was an exterminator in Chicago, a bartender in New York, a summons-server in Newark. In Paris he sat at cafe tables, watching the sullen French faces go by. In Athens he looked up from his ouzo at what he called the ugliest people in the world. In Istanbul he threaded his way through crowds of opium addicts and rug-sellers, looking for the facts. In Chicago he planned to hold up a Turkish bath, hesitated just for two minutes too long for a drink, and, wound up with two dollars and had to make a run for it. He did all these things merely for the experience.... ~ Jack Kerouac
Bushmen People quotes by Jack Kerouac
Odds are just the people opinion. Respect your own opinion. ~ Evander Holyfield
Bushmen People quotes by Evander Holyfield
I'm one of those people who always tries to overachieve. I want to do more. I want to do bigger things. ~ Nik Wallenda
Bushmen People quotes by Nik Wallenda
The crucial thing is to look in an informed way at what's going on. Look at the way in which we are forced by our imbalanced system to push away people who might contribute mightily to the NHS. ~ Boris Johnson
Bushmen People quotes by Boris Johnson
It's an illusion to believe that you can be happy when no one else is. Or that other people will not be affected by your unhappiness. ~ John Brockman
Bushmen People quotes by John Brockman
If the other person would just do things my way, we could get along, one says, when the other person is probably thinking the same about us - that leads to conflict. Our deepest problems are within ourselves. ~ Billy Graham
Bushmen People quotes by Billy Graham
Nobody rises above mediocrity unless they use the brains of other people. ~ Napoleon Hill
Bushmen People quotes by Napoleon Hill
I've found that many of the people who have a passion for karaoke too often have misplaced confidence, which can become aggressive and border on sadistic. I know my limits, and karaoke is where I draw the line. I wouldn't put anyone through the hell of listening to me sing a song, and I sure as shit wouldn't wait in line to do it. ~ Chelsea Handler
Bushmen People quotes by Chelsea Handler
I think people realise that I'm happy with what I've achieved. ~ Kelly Holmes
Bushmen People quotes by Kelly Holmes
There is wisdom in not letting anyone really know who you are or what you are like. If you define yourself, people hold you in their mind a certain way making it difficult to change. ~ Frederick Lenz
Bushmen People quotes by Frederick Lenz
There is something I like about talking to journalists that really goes beyond promotion because you aren't just talking to the journalist, but you are talking through them to people who presumably are fans of the Rolling Stones. The interviews give you a chance to say a few things and maybe clear up some of the things people read about the band. ~ Mick Jagger
Bushmen People quotes by Mick Jagger
There is the voice that everybody hears ... saying to you, "You should do this, you should be this, you ought to, you got to." And then there is the still small voice - for some people not so small - inside every human being that calls you to something that is greater than yourself. ~ Oprah Winfrey
Bushmen People quotes by Oprah Winfrey
At this point, I want to say point-blank what I hope is already clear: though agrarianism proposes that everybody has agrarian responsibilities, it does not propose that everybody should be a farmer or that we do not need cities. Nor does it propose that every product be a necessity. Furthermore, any thinkable human economy would have to grant to manufacturing an appropriate and honorable place. Agrarians would insist only that any manufacturing enterprise should be formed and scaled to fit the local landscape, the local ecosystem, and the local community, and that it should be locally owned and employ local people. They would insist, in other words, that the shop or factory owner should not be an outsider, but rather a sharer in the fate of the place and the community. The deciders should live with the results of their decisions. ~ Wendell Berry
Bushmen People quotes by Wendell Berry
What I picked up on Michael Jackson - because I study people when I watch them - the way that he counts his rhythm with his feet and his neck at the same time is crazy ... so he's hearing multiple things at once. And I don't know anybody who does that. ~ Wyclef Jean
Bushmen People quotes by Wyclef Jean
The imagination is also sometimes commended for offering us in vicarious form experiences which we are unable to enjoy at first hand. If you can't afford an air ticket to Kuala Lumpur, you can always read Conrad and imagine yourself in South-East Asia. If you have been monotonously married for forty years, you can always lay furtive hands on a copy of James Joyce's letters. Literature on this view is a kind of supplement to our unavoidably impoverished lives - a sort of spiritual prosthesis which extends our capabilities beyond their normal restricted range. It is true that everyone's experience is bound to be limited, and that art can valuably augment it. But why the lives of so many people should be imaginatively impoverished is then a question that can be easily passed over. ~ Terry Eagleton
Bushmen People quotes by Terry Eagleton
The people you are closest to tend to be able to hurt you the most - that is why heartbreak is so hard to deal with, why death is so painful, and why fights can destroy things that matter. ~ Megan Wilson
Bushmen People quotes by Megan Wilson
People who are bred, selected, and compensated to find complicated solutions do not have an incentive to implement simplified ones. ~ Nassim Nicholas Taleb
