My grandmother said sex was the best gift God ever gave to mankind-I think it is over rated. ~ Brenda Kay Winters
Brenda Winters quotes by Brenda Kay Winters
Looking up, I observed one solitary leaf that remained on a spindly branch of an old oak tree. And as winter's frigid winds blew against it twisting it this way and that, I thought that it was either committed to holding on as long as it could or it was afraid to let go. ~ Craig D. Lounsbrough
Brenda Winters quotes by Craig D. Lounsbrough
summer sky, full of promise. Few colors could convey such a wide range of emotions just based on shade. Pale blue felt light and serene. Bright blue was bold and striking. The insistent blare of a car horn ~ Brenda Rothert
Brenda Winters quotes by Brenda Rothert
Talk was one thing, but knowing was something else entirely. ~ Pepper Winters
Brenda Winters quotes by Pepper Winters
He was alone and shackled by his neck to the wall. And he had no hope. How did a man live without hope? [You hope is in Jesus Christ. Pray to your Father in that name and he will ease your pain or shorten it]. That's what Tyndale had said in his last letter. And that's what John tried to do, though he could not kneel or even bow his head from his fixed position on the wall. (p. 365) ~ Brenda Rickman Vantrease
Brenda Winters quotes by Brenda Rickman Vantrease
When we sit, we open our own treasure house. Rather than do this, however, most of us first seek to find the treasures another person can provide. We calculate their value to us. When we approach relationships in this manner, we are coming as beggars, seeing the other as a source of supply. When we can enter a relationship with our treasure house already open, there is no end to the wonders we can find, both within and between ourselves and another. ~ Brenda Shoshanna
Brenda Winters quotes by Brenda Shoshanna
From a personal standpoint, I would have been devastated had Nixon been killed. As a leader you do not stop and calculate your losses during combat. You cannot stop a fight and ask yourself how many casualties you have sustained. You calculate losses only when the fight is over. Ever since the second week of the invasion, casualties had been my greatest concern. Victory would eventually be ours, but the casualties that had to be paid were the price that hurt. In that regard Nixon seemed a special case. ~ Dick Winters
Brenda Winters quotes by Dick Winters
You miss predictability even if that predictability would've killed you, either by his hand or yours. ~ Pepper Winters
Brenda Winters quotes by Pepper Winters
I know this isn't easy for anyone - nothing worth doing is every easy" Brenda to Maisie Dobbs ~ Jacqueline Winspear
Brenda Winters quotes by Jacqueline Winspear
You can run Angel, but I'll always find you, he said smirking. - Chase Winters ~ J.L. Weil
Brenda Winters quotes by J.L. Weil
She understood his eyes, colder than winter's heart. A man who knew he was dead and couldn't make himself care; you are spared that. Mashiara. His lost love. ~ Robert Jordan
Brenda Winters quotes by Robert Jordan
When someone you love disappears, it's like the light goes dim, and you're in the shadows. You try to do what people tell you: put one foot in front of the other; keep looking up; give yourself over to the seconds and minutes and hours. But always there's taht glimmer of light-that way of living you once knew-sort of faded and smoky like the crescent moon on a winter's night when the air is full of ice and clouds, but still there, hanging just over your head. You think it's not far. Your think at any moment you can reach out and grab it. ~ Lee Martin
Brenda Winters quotes by Lee Martin
God is in my head, but the devil is in my pants. ~ Jonathan Winters
Brenda Winters quotes by Jonathan Winters
We're worth the weight of what we leave behind. The people we've touched. The lives we've shared. The knowledge we've gathered and traded. Physically, we're worth the dust our corpses turn into, but spiritually, we're rich forever. ~ Pepper Winters
Brenda Winters quotes by Pepper Winters
I'm driving slowly, careful to avoid speeding through life - my life - no longer wasting my summers waiting for snow, my winters waiting for sun, taking each season as it comes, appreciating the warmth of the sun, the cleansing of the snow. ~ Joshua Fields Millburn
Brenda Winters quotes by Joshua Fields Millburn
in winter's watered-down light - just ~ David Foster Wallace
Brenda Winters quotes by David Foster Wallace
POEM – MY AMAZING
TRAVELS
[My composition in my book Travel Memoirs with Pictures]

My very first trip I still cannot believe
Was planned and executed with such great ease.
My father, an Inspector of Schools, was such a strict man,
He gave in to my wishes when I told him of the plan.

I got my first long vacation while working as a banker
One of my co-workers wanted a travelling partner.
She visited my father and discussed the matter
Arrangements were made without any flutter.

We travelled to New York, Toronto, London, and Germany,
In each of those places, there was somebody,
To guide and protect us and to take us wonderful places,
It was a dream come true at our young ages.

We even visited Holland, which was across the Border.
To drive across from Germany was quite in order.
Memories of great times continue to linger,
I thank God for an understanding father.

That trip in 1968 was the beginning of much more,
I visited many countries afterward I am still in awe.
Barbados, Tobago, St. Maarten, and Buffalo,
Cirencester in the United Kingdom, Miami, and Orlando.

I was accompanied by my husband on many trips.
Sisters, nieces, children, grandchildren, and friends, travelled with me a bit.
Puerto Rico, Los Angeles, New York, and Hialeah,
Curacao, Caracas, Margarita, Virginia, and Anguilla.

We sailed ~ Brenda Mohammed
Brenda Winters quotes by Brenda Mohammed
Sometimes you have to take a hit from your enemy for them to be seen as what they are. ~ Willow Winters
Brenda Winters quotes by Willow Winters
the first thing that's gonna tip everyone off that the world is ending is this thing called Fimbulvetr which just means THE WINTER OF WINTERS and that is exactly what it is. It is a winter MADE OF MULTIPLE WINTERS like, there is going to be a winter and then once that winter is finished there will be ANOTHER WINTER. And then after that maybe it will be spring? Think again, son. MORE WINTER. ~ Cory O'Brien
Brenda Winters quotes by Cory O'Brien
Winter's notion of poetry is tragedy. It knows nothing of comedy. Its laughter was frozen on its lips long ago. ~ William Alfred Quayle
Brenda Winters quotes by William Alfred Quayle
Then like a bird, he gingerly landed on a protruding rock inside the monstrous cavern. I looked up at the wet walls teaming with sea life and reeled back feeling like I was going to lose my balance when I felt him reach around and carefully lift me off. He placed me so I could stand on the rock in front of him. His strong arms wrapped tightly around me so I wouldn't fall. We stood in astonishment deafened by the noise of the waves hitting the reef all around us. The warmth of his chest radiated against me. I molded my body up against his, my heart erupting in a flutter that caused my legs to weaken.
"What do you think?" he whispered into my ear. I felt his hot breath against the side of my neck, which caused me to be light-headed as my heart raced even harder.
"Awesome," I whispered, which was all I could get out as I slinked into his chest a little bit more. ~ Brenda Pandos
Brenda Winters quotes by Brenda Pandos
But the great artists like Michelangelo and Blake and Tolstoi
like Christ whom Blake called an artist because he had one of the most creative imaginations that ever was on earth
do not want security, egoistic or materialistic. Why, it never occurs to them. "Be not anxious for the morrow," and "which of you being anxious can add one cubit to his stature?"
So they dare to be idle, i.e. not to be pressed and duty-driven all the time. They dare to love people even when they are very bad, and they dare not to try and dominate others to show them what they must do for their own good. ~ Brenda Ueland
Brenda Winters quotes by Brenda Ueland
We had nine pails of candy for Halloween, now we are down to one. They go for a lot of the candy mixes. I think that they buy them for themselves sometimes. ~ Brenda V. Smith
Brenda Winters quotes by Brenda V. Smith
Acting is the developing of one's own personality, too, you know. That's what the public buys in a star, shall we say, the personality thing. ~ Shelley Winters
Brenda Winters quotes by Shelley Winters
I wonder what kinds of songs Preston's father sang to him." Zach raised his eyebrows. "I wonder if he's in a cell humming them to himself right now."
I should have said something-done something. He was in a dark place, there in the moonlight. But before I could say a word, Zach took a deep breath and looked up at the fortress. "I wonder if I should join him. ~ Ally Carter
Brenda Winters quotes by Ally Carter
We wouldn't even have wars, if adults followed the rules they learned as children. A four-year old would be able to see how foolish grown men are behaving if you explained the war in child's terms. A boy named Germany started causing problems all over the playground that included beating up a girl named Belgium on his way to hurt a kid named France. Then England tried to beat up Germany to help France and Belgium, and when that didn't work, they called over a kid named America, and people started pounding on him, too. ~ Cat Winters
Brenda Winters quotes by Cat Winters
In a relationship if you are giving and getting nothing back in return, stop giving so much, and spend time being. Give to yourself, be who you are. ~ Brenda Shoshanna
Brenda Winters quotes by Brenda Shoshanna
The short winter's day was drawing to a close. It seems to me sometimes that these are the only days I have ever known, and especially that most charming moment of all, just before night
wipes them out. ~ Samuel Beckett
Brenda Winters quotes by Samuel Beckett
The elk that you glimpse in the summer, those at the forest edge, are survivors of winter, only the strongest. You see one just before dusk that summer, standing at the perimeter of the meadow so it can step back to the forest and vanish. You can't help imagining the still, frozen nights behind it, so cold that the slightest motion is monumental. I have found their bodies, half drifted over in snow, no sign of animal attack or injury. Just toppled over one night with ice working into their lungs. You wouldn't want to stand outside for more than a few minutes in that kind of weather. If you lived through only one of those winters the way this elk has, you would write books about it. You would become a shaman. You would be forever changed. That elk from the winter stands there on the summer evening, watching from beside the forest. It keeps its story to itself. ~ Craig Childs
Brenda Winters quotes by Craig Childs
If you are ignorant of Lora Delane Porter's books that is your affair. Perhaps you are more to be pitied than censured. Nature probably gave you the wrong shape of forehead. Mrs. Porter herself would have put it down to some atavistic tendency or pre-natal influence. She put most things down to that. She blamed nearly all the defects of the modern world, from weak intellects to in-growing toe-nails, on long-dead ladies and gentlemen who, safe in the family vault, imagined that they had established their alibi. She subpoenaed grandfathers and even great-grandfathers to give evidence to show that the reason Twentieth-Century Willie squinted or had to spend his winters in Arizona was their own shocking health 'way back in the days beyond recall. ~ P.G. Wodehouse
Brenda Winters quotes by P.G. Wodehouse
How can we know what we don't know? ~ Ben H. Winters
Brenda Winters quotes by Ben H. Winters
You're going to hell." His lips twitched then erupted into a full-faced smile. "Oh, good. I was worried you'd be there without me. ~ Pepper Winters
Brenda Winters quotes by Pepper Winters
Brenda is staring at Roamer and the rest of the crying herd, her eyes dry and angry. I know what she's feeling. Here are these people who called him 'freak' and never paid attention to him, except to make fun of him or spread rumors about him, and now they are carrying on like professional mourners, the ones you can hire in Taiwan or the Middle East to sing, cry, and crawl on the ground. His family is just as bad. ~ Jennifer Niven
Brenda Winters quotes by Jennifer Niven
What is about to happen is not the reclaiming of Earth by a triumphant Mother Nature, a karmic repudiation of humanity's arrogant ill stewardship. Nothing we ever did mattered one way or another. This event has always been in the cards for man's planet, for the whole scope of our history, coming regardless of what we did or didn't do. ~ Ben H. Winters
Brenda Winters quotes by Ben H. Winters
find forgiveness for other people's actions as much as our own. ~ Brenda Rothert
Brenda Winters quotes by Brenda Rothert
While the train flashed through never-ending miles of ripe wheat, by country towns and bright-flowered pastures and oak groves wilting in the sun, we sat in the observation car, where the woodwork was hot to the touch and red dust lay deep over everything. The dust and heat, the burning wind, reminded us of many things. We were talking about what it is like to spend one's childhood in little towns like these, buried in wheat and corn, under stimulating extremes of climate: burning summers when the world lies green and billowy beneath a brilliant sky, when one is fairly stifled in vegetation, in the color and smell of strong weeds and heavy harvests; blustery winters with little snow, when the whole country is stripped bare and gray as sheet-iron. We agreed that no one who had not grown up in a little prairie town could know anything about it. It was a kind of freemasonry, we said. ~ Willa Cather
Brenda Winters quotes by Willa Cather
Like you. Like I can't get enough." "My insatiable little slut. ~ Pepper Winters
Brenda Winters quotes by Pepper Winters
Winter's my favorite...The best parts are the coats and sweaters. Hugging all the warmth back in. ~ Abby Slovin
Brenda Winters quotes by Abby Slovin
A real man isn't one who never makes mistakes. A real man faces his mistakes and fixes them as best he can. ~ Brenda Hodnett
