because she'd forbidden him to bring it anywhere in sight of the school. Ever since it had exploded in the school car park. "Give us a lift?" asked Darius. "Oswald can't fetch me, he's in a meeting." A meeting? thought Nat. Oswald? Darius didn't have any parents; Nat had never asked why, and Darius never wanted to talk about it. Oswald Bagley was Darius's terrifying older brother, who was looking after him. The way wolves sometimes look after man-cubs ~ Nigel Smith
Beharriell Park quotes by Nigel Smith
If you're bored with something, act as if you're seeing it for the first time. Look at it with new eyes. Pretend you're seeing it as a film director, theme park designer or your Aunt Josie - anything that provides a change in perspective. To beat boredom, make the familiar unfamiliar. ~ Sam Harrison
Beharriell Park quotes by Sam Harrison
I call myself the Amusement Park. That's because I'm funny and scary at the same time. ~ Terry Crews
Beharriell Park quotes by Terry Crews
Tomorrow we can go for a walk in the park, hold hands and blow bubbles. ~ Ronald Ragan
Beharriell Park quotes by Ronald Ragan
Justin… I know that we do not care for clichés, but this is a rather large can of worms that you are attempting to pry open using a rusty can opener."

"Like one of those old creaky ones you'd find in a summer rental home? With the super skinny handles that hurt?"

Celeste laughed. "Yes. Like that."

"I like worms. You can let the worms out. But only if you want. I won't make you talk about anything you don't want to. ~ Jessica Park
Beharriell Park quotes by Jessica Park
The next time you see a bum leaving drug needles in a park where children play or urinating in the street, you are seeing your tax dollars at work and the end result of the vision of the anointed. ~ Thomas Sowell
Beharriell Park quotes by Thomas Sowell
Ordinary folk prefer familiar tastes - they'd sooner eat the same things all the time - but a gourmet would sample a fried park bench just to know how it tastes. ~ Walter Moers
Beharriell Park quotes by Walter Moers
There are only two worthwhile things to leave behind when you depart this world of ours: children and art. ~ Stephen Sondheim "Sunday In The Park With George"
Beharriell Park quotes by Stephen Sondheim
As with life, so with words. ~ Sid Gustafson
Beharriell Park quotes by Sid Gustafson
'Jurassic Park' doesn't belong to America; it belongs to the whole world. ~ Colin Trevorrow
Beharriell Park quotes by Colin Trevorrow
I'm always there at home thinking of Wallace and Gromit ideas. ~ Nick Park
Beharriell Park quotes by Nick Park
One main problem with raising awareness of LGBT abuse is the denial. The term "domestic violence" is perceived as something akin to alcoholism, ("I don't sit on a park bench drinking") and people do not see that they are perpetrating or are a victim of DV because they have a set idea about what it is. ~ Kim Kardashian
Beharriell Park quotes by Kim Kardashian
A truck turned the corner and rumbled its way over to our house. I watched it parallel park, then go silent as the lights switched off. The driver's side door opened, and my best friend, Matthew, stepped down. His cowboy boots thudded against the asphalt, then crunched across the gravel that covered our front yard. "Howdy," he said. I ~ E.M. Tippetts
Beharriell Park quotes by E.M. Tippetts
I have been authorized to tell you both, Amy and Dan, that you have been granted active Madrigal status." He paused. "I might add, you are by far the youngest candidates ever to have achieved this…
And... Miss Gomez? Welcome to the Madrigals. ~ Linda Sue Park
Beharriell Park quotes by Linda Sue Park
His house was certainly peculiar, and since this was the first thing that Fenchurch and Arthur had encountered it would help to know what it was like.

It was like this:

It was inside out.

Actually inside out, to the extent that they had had to park on the carpet.

All along what one would normally call the outer wall, which was decorated in a tasteful interior-designed pink, were bookshelves, also a couple of those odd three-legged tables with semicircular tops which stand in such a way as to suggest that someone just dropped the wall straight through them, and pictures which were clearly designed to soothe.

Where it got really odd was the roof.

It folded back on itself like something that M. C. Escher, had he been given to hard nights on the town, which it is no part of this narrative's purpose to suggest was the case, though it is sometimes hard, looking at his pictures, particularly the one with all the awkward steps, not to wonder, might have dreamed up after having been on one, for the little chandeliers which should have been hanging inside were on the outside pointing up.

Confusing.

The sign above the front door said "Come Outside," and so, nervously, they had.

Inside, of course, was where the Outside was. Rough brickwork, nicely done pointing, guttering in good repair, a garden path, a couple of small trees, some rooms leading off.

And the inner walls stretched ~ Douglas Adams
Beharriell Park quotes by Douglas Adams
Of course, it is quite possible to be in the dark in the dark, but there are so many secrets in the world that it is likely that you are always in the dark about one thing or another, whether you are in the dark in the dark or in the dark not in the dark, although the sun can go down so quickly that you may be in the in the dark about being in the dark, only to look around and find yourself no longer in the dark about being in the dark, but in the dark in the dark nontheless, not only because of the dark, but because of the ballerinas in the dark, who are not in the dark about the dark, but also not in the dark about the locked cabinet, and you may be in the dark about the ballerinas digging up the locked cabinet in the dark, even though you are no longer in the dark about being in the dark, and so you are in fact in the dark about being in the dark, even though you are not in the dark about being in the dark, and so you may fall into the hole that the ballerinas have dug, which is dark, in the dark, and in the park. ~ Lemony Snicket
Beharriell Park quotes by Lemony Snicket
I live in a rural residential area. It's a great place for a walk. I'm at my happiest when I'm listening to my iPod while walking around where my feet take me. ~ Park Chan-wook
Beharriell Park quotes by Park Chan-wook
The National Park Service actually has something of a tradition of making things extinct. ~ Bill Bryson
Beharriell Park quotes by Bill Bryson
Although I've made notes for things and even written synopses sitting in trains or on park benches, for the complete composition of things I need absolute solitude, preferably an empty house. ~ James Salter
Beharriell Park quotes by James Salter
children are. Moms to push their swings. Dads to wipe the dirt off scraped knees. Beyond the park there's a water ~ Jenny B. Jones
Beharriell Park quotes by Jenny B. Jones
It is very sad about Michael Jackson, much as in the tragic cases of Heath Ledger, Anna Nicole and other celebrities who have died are a result of drugs. It is always sad when such a bright light goes out. ~ Grace Park
Beharriell Park quotes by Grace Park
Three 'Jurassic Park' movies isn't enough! You want more! ~ Colin Trevorrow
Beharriell Park quotes by Colin Trevorrow
God bless Interlibrary Loan. I pay a lot of library fines. In the case of 'A Single Shard,' I was using books that hadn't been checked out in 30 years, so I didn't feel too bad. ~ Linda Sue Park
Beharriell Park quotes by Linda Sue Park
Meta-fiction doesn't depend on the illusion that you're reading about real people. ~ Paul Park
Beharriell Park quotes by Paul Park
From the outside, I seem happy a lot. But, I'm human and it's not possible to always be happy. ~ Park Bom
Beharriell Park quotes by Park Bom
It isn't only political power that grows out of the barrel of a gun. So does a whole definition of reality. A set. And the action that has to happen on that particular set and on none other."

"Don't be so bloody patronizing," I objected.... "That's just Marx: the ideology of the ruling class becomes the ideology of the whole society."

"Not the ideology. The Reality." He lowered his handkerchief. "This was a public park until they changed the definition. Now, the guns have changed the Reality. It isn't a public park. There's more than one kind of magic."

"Just like the Enclosure Acts," I said hollowly. "One day the land belonged to the people. The next day it belonged to the landlords."

"And like the Narcotics Acts," he added. "A hundred thousand harmless junkies became criminals overnight, by Act of Congress, in nineteen twenty-seven. Ten years later, in thirty-seven, all the pot-heads in the country became criminals overnight, by Act of Congress. And they really were criminals, when the papers were signed. The guns prove it. Walk away from those guns, waving a joint, and refuse to halt when they tell you. Their Imagination will become your Reality in a second. ~ Robert Anton Wilson
Beharriell Park quotes by Robert Anton Wilson
I doubt it's a strictly factual account, but these attitudes are deeply imbedded.
Which means that our only hope of changing them, of ending the wrecks, lies not in stopping or even changing the Internet -- even with the best blocking functions, report-abuse functions, real-name transparency protocols, and twenty-four-hour moderation in the world, hate (to quite Jurassic Park) finds a way -- but in changing ourselves, and our definitions of womanhood. We have to stop believing that when a woman does something we don't like, we are qualified and entitled to punish her, violate her, or ruin her life. We have to change our ideas of what a "good" woman, or a "likable" woman, or simply a "woman who can leave her house without fearing for her life because she is a woman," can be. ~ Sady Doyle
Beharriell Park quotes by Sady Doyle
There are many ways to deal with pain. You can protect the wound and wait until it heals or, at the very worst, remove the inflamed area and suture the wound. But in my case, the world never gave me time to heal. They took turns clawing and hacking at my wound. ~ Min-gyu Park
Beharriell Park quotes by Min-gyu Park
So for a year I spent all my time hiding from Jack Charlton in the car park practising my skills. ~ Craig Johnston
Beharriell Park quotes by Craig Johnston
We'd all lost ourselves and found something far more significant together. We reached with gaping wounds for a healing we desired so badly, like a blind man picturing the world around him - the lively children skipping rope, green grass, blue sky. It's like that man standing in his vision, rising from the park bench, arms outstretched, taking the first steps into a world he only hopes exists. ~ Christopher Hawke
Beharriell Park quotes by Christopher Hawke
If anyone stays away (after the 1981 strike), my response is this - those people had no right to ever come to the park, because they aren't true baseball fans. ~ George Brett
Beharriell Park quotes by George Brett
One of the few times I'm hit emotionally is when I listen to the tapes sadists make of torturing their victims. There the person is currently suffering, you can hear them suffer, and that calls out for an empathic response. But when they're dead, when they're no longer suffering, when it's over, it's hard to feel empathetic for the corpse. ~ Park Dietz
Beharriell Park quotes by Park Dietz
Baseball is a pretty sight and a nice experience, win or lose, particularly if it is watched in a nice park. ~ Daniel Okrent
Beharriell Park quotes by Daniel Okrent
Finn is God: If you get off your high horse, you'll notice that it, too, poops. ~ Jessica Park
Beharriell Park quotes by Jessica Park
When I leave the car park at Melwood, I try and become a completely different person. I try to get away from it. You have got to. Otherwise you end up like Jamie Carragher - obsessed! ~ Steven Gerrard
Beharriell Park quotes by Steven Gerrard
The Copse at Hurstbourne is one of those fancy-sounding titles for a brand-new tract of condominiums on the outskirts of town. 'Copse' as in 'a thicket of small trees.' 'Hurst' as in 'hillock, knoll, or mound.' And 'bourne' as in 'brook or stream.' All of these geological and botanical wonders did seem to conjoin within the twenty parcels of the development, but it was hard to understand why it couldn't have just been called Shady Acres, which is what it was. Apparently people aren't willing to pay a hundred and fifty thousand dollars for a home that doesn't sound like it's part of an Anglo-Saxon land grant. These often quite utilitarian dwellings are never named after Jews or Mexicans. Try marketing Rancho Feinstein if you want to lose money in a hurry. Or Paco Sanchez Park. Middle-class Americans aspire to tone, which is equated, absurdly, with the British gentry. ~ Sue Grafton
Beharriell Park quotes by Sue Grafton
Something fell and George was off, barking like a mad dog. What if whoever is back there hurts him?
Oh. My. Goodness. If I do die, I can do so happily now. That man's eyes were so blue - and I swore they changed color.
"I made a huge mistake," Jake said as he took the leash off of George. "I said p-i-z-z-a out loud. And he took off at a fast jog all the way back here from the park right through Ms. Helen's sprinklers down the street."
And then nothing…no words entered my brain. I sniffed and quickly nodded, like I was about to cry. "Okay. Right. Amen."
Then I forced myself to slow down and not run back to my seat. ~ Candace Havens
Beharriell Park quotes by Candace Havens
I run in London, in San Francisco - any city that's got a waterfront or park. ~ Danny Meyer
Beharriell Park quotes by Danny Meyer
Acting in 'Command & Conquer 3' called for me to interact with the player and to look directly into the camera, which is a big no no when filming for TV or film. ~ Grace Park
