I had no idea what was going on, but I knew that fighting Tybalt wouldn't get me out of the darkness. It would strand me there. ~ Seanan McGuire
Rosemary Rue quotes by Seanan McGuire
I sit in happy mediation on my rock, pondering, while my line dries again, upon the ways of trout and men. How like fish we are: ready, nay eager, to seize upon whatever new thing some wind of circumstance shakes down upon the river of time! And how we rue our haste, finding the gilded morsel to contain a hook. Even so, I think there is some virtue to eagerness, whether its object prove true or false. How utterly dull would be a wholly prudent man, or trout, or world! ~ Aldo Leopold
Rosemary Rue quotes by Aldo Leopold
O, let us pay the time but needful woe,
Since it hath been beforehand with our griefs.
This England never did, nor never shall,
Lie at the proud foot of a conqueror
But when it first did help to wound itself.
Now these her princes are come home again,
Come the three corners of the world in arms,
And we shall shock them. Nought shall make us rue
If England to itself do rest but true. ~ William Shakespeare
Rosemary Rue quotes by William Shakespeare
Chances are, while you can come across as introverted, the real reason for your apparent reserve is you're happy to be the life of your own party (be it in your head or in your own space) rather than follow the crowd. ~ Rosemary Breen
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rosemary Breen
I'm very curious about the world, foreign cultures. ~ Rosemary Mahoney
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rosemary Mahoney
Presently I went back to my Companions, and slept under the apple trees, wrapped in my cloak and with my head on Cabal's flank for a pillow. There is no pillow in the world so good as a hound's flank. ~ Rosemary Sutcliff
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rosemary Sutcliff
My mother had seven children in seven years. No twins. She also had a three-legged beagle who was compelled to bite strangers, a freakishly big double-pawed tomcat who regularly left dead rabbits on the front doorstep, and 70 white mice that one or another of us had smuggled home from my father's research laboratory. ~ Rosemary Mahoney
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rosemary Mahoney
The answer to our prayer of how to meet our children's needs may be to more often technologically disconnect. Precious moments of opportunity to interact and converse with our children dissolve when we are occupied with distractions. Why not choose a time each day to disconnect from technology and reconnect with each other? Simply turn everything off. When you do this, your home may seem quiet at first; you may even feel at a loss as to what to do or say. Then, as you give full attention to your children, a conversation will begin, and you can enjoy listening to each other. ~ Rosemary M. Wixom
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rosemary M. Wixom
The only thing you must do, flesh-child, is die. The rest is but a trick of light in the foam on the waves. ~ Rue
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rue
How do we not rue the many unchosen paths in life? A blessed lack of imagination. There are enough real glories along any path to swamp our meager ability to picture alternatives. ~ Terry Rossio
Rosemary Rue quotes by Terry Rossio
I am like a security camera ever on the watch. The furtive quality of vision feels to me like an incredibly valuable weapon. Everything I see gets transformed into a private sketch or painting in my mind, stored away for future reference, future evidence, future ammunition. ~ Rosemary Mahoney
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rosemary Mahoney
She was the only creature in the world who would really care if something happened to me, even if it was only because I was the bringer of kibble. ~ Rosemary Clement-Moore
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rosemary Clement-Moore
If you want big improvements, she said, chew gum. Gum? Sure enough, chewing gum has been shown to improve a person's immediate recall of learned words by some 24 percent. Long-term recall improves by a larger 36 percent. To get the benefit, you actually have to chew gum as you are studying; for some reason you can't merely move your jaw up and down. I also discovered that drinking sage tea increases one's recall of words modestly, as does the odor of rosemary. Something as mundane as coffee provides a benefit, too. Drinking two cups of coffee increases neuronal activity in the frontal lobe, where working memory is controlled, and in the anterior cingulum, where attention is controlled. ~ Michael Erard
Rosemary Rue quotes by Michael Erard
I almost fainted. There was no family history. I had been eating a vegetarian diet and I exercised. ~ Rue McClanahan
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rue McClanahan
After I cut off his penis, I sautéed it in rosemary butter and ate it"
"But did you go to a meeting afterwards?"
"Yes"
"I wouldn't worry about it, then. ~ Augusten Burroughs
Rosemary Rue quotes by Augusten Burroughs
Cruelty is one fashion statement we can all do without. ~ Rue McClanahan
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rue McClanahan
My mother was determined that I should be able to walk two miles. If you could walk two miles, she said, you could get to most places you needed to get to. Actually, this is a fallacy. The fact that you can, with great difficulty, and taking an unconscionably time about it, walk two miles, will not get you anywhere you need, or at any rate want, to go. There were times when a wheelchair would have added another dimension to my life, but that was a forbidden subject; and it was not until many, many years later, long after my father and I were alone, that I took the law into my own hands and bought one; and instantly, dazzled with the new freedom that it brought me, swept my father off to his old haunts on an Hellenic cruise. ~ Rosemary Sutcliff
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rosemary Sutcliff
When Bob came through Cincinnati, he wanted a girl singer to be on his show. There was a local contest, and my sister and I entered, but Bob said, Gee, I wouldn't break up the team. ~ Rosemary Clooney
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rosemary Clooney
Rue carried her mother's parasol, which was too ugly to match any of her outfits, but was more sturdy than any of her fashionable ones. This one, felt Rue, could really cause damage to a noggin if applied with enough enthusiasm. Somehow this made her feel more secure about life in general. ~ Gail Carriger
Rosemary Rue quotes by Gail Carriger
Keep saying "Dear God, dear God". There may still be suffering - but keep touching those people, Lucia, and He won't let you suffer alone. ~ Nancy Rue
Rosemary Rue quotes by Nancy Rue
He rose to his feet in one fluid move, the better to look down at me. You don't know me, princess.
Some people have reasons for doing things, and don't just go wherever they're told or drift whichever
way they're pushed. ~ Rosemary Clement-Moore
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rosemary Clement-Moore
The Rakshasa," said Percy pedantically, "are a different breed altogether from our vampires. Much in the same way that poodles and dachshunds are different breeds of dog. Rakshasas are reviled in India. Their position as tax collectors is an attempts by the crown to integrate them in a more progressive and mundane manner."
Rue said, "Oh, how logical. Because we all know ordaining someone as a tax collector is the surest way to get them accepted by society. ~ Gail Carriger
Rosemary Rue quotes by Gail Carriger
There are different kinds of love, Sarah. I feel one kind of love for your father. A special kind. Another kind for Warren. And still a different kind for you children.' She smiled at me. 'Heaven rue the day we can't feel love for one another. I wouldn't want to live in such a world, would you? ~ Ann Rinaldi
Rosemary Rue quotes by Ann Rinaldi

Rosemary Rue quotes by Rosemary Clement-Moore

Rosemary Rue quotes by New Zealand Proverb
pasta carbonara. You fry fresh rosemary in olive oil, with a pinch of salt and insane amounts of finely chopped garlic. Add a little chopped pancetta, then make the sauce by adding a pint of whole milk and curdling it with a tablespoon of vinegar. Boil it down for ten minutes, and mix in a couple of beaten eggs right at the end. Sprinkle on some finely shaved fresh parmesan - never the pre-grated stuff - and coarsely ground black pepper. ~ Richard Farr

McCue: Now, Mrs. Margolies, this is Mr. McCue of the City News Bureau - City News Bureau - is it rue, Madame that you were the victim of a peeping tom?
Kruger: Ask her if she's worth peeping at?
Wilson: Has she got a friend? ~ Ben Hecht
Rosemary Rue quotes by Ben Hecht
There was something so . . . stalwart about Ben. I'd only known him two days and he'd managed to infuriate me most of that time. But there I was, protected by the curve of his arm, and grateful for it. And not just because it for nice, though it did. ~ Rosemary Clement-Moore
Rosemary Rue quotes by Rosemary Clement-Moore
As individuals we are strong. Together, with God, we are unstoppable. ~ Rosemary M. Wixom

Wanting to change your handwriting may be an indication that you are ready, or wanting, to change a whole lot of other things in your life as well. You alone can decide what you wish to change and why. ~ Rosemary Sassoon
