Battle ... brings out all that is best. ~ George S. Patton
Pro War quotes by George S. Patton
Rupert Murdoch's vast newspaper empire has waged a relentless pro-war propaganda war before and since the war began. ~ Margo Kingston
Pro War quotes by Margo Kingston
Nearly all of these successful folks have made it in the business world by sticking with the free market ideal of survival of the fittest over everything else. They believe in giving no quarter, and consequently they are antiunion, pro-death penalty, and pro-war- that is, until they actually feel the war's cost in their own wallets and a big voice coming out of the sky says: You could grab more money if we did not have this war to pay for! This is America, where greed is christened "drive" and is deemed a virtue. ~ Joe Bageant
Pro War quotes by Joe Bageant
The media is socially liberal, economically conservative, and always pro-war. ~ James Rozoff
Pro War quotes by James Rozoff
No event in American history is more misunderstood than the Vietnam War. It was misreported then, and it is misremembered now. ~ Richard M. Nixon
Pro War quotes by Richard M. Nixon
Only in America can you be Pro-Death Penalty, Pro-War, Pro-Unmanned Drone Bombs, Pro-Nuclear Weapons, Pro-Guns, Pro-Torture, Pro-Land Mines, AND still call yourself 'Pro-Life.' ~ John Fugelsang
Pro War quotes by John Fugelsang
The utterly fallacious idea at the heart of the pro-war argument is that it is the duty of the anti-war argument to provide an alternative to war. The onus is on them to explain just cause. ~ Zadie Smith
Pro War quotes by Zadie Smith
You know, I'm pro-troops, but I'm not pro-war. ~ Toby Keith
Pro War quotes by Toby Keith
If 'feminism' can mean anything from behaving like a man (Miller), being pro-choice (Valenti), being pro-life (Palin), and being pro-war (the Republican administration), then we may simply need to abandon the term, or at the very least, restrict its usage to those situations in which we make quite certain we explain what we mean by it. ~ Nina Power
Pro War quotes by Nina Power
Most of Arbus's work lies within the Warhol aesthetic, that is, defines itself in relation to the twin poles of boringness and freakishness; but it doesn't have the Warhol style. Arbus had neither Warhol's narcissism and genius for publicity nor the self-protective blandness with which he insulates himself from the freaky nor his sentimentality. It is unlikey that Warhol, who comes from a working-class family, ever felt any ambivalence toward success which afflicted the children of the Jewish upper middle classes in the 1960s. To someone raised as a Catholic, like Warhol (and virtually everyone in his gang), a fascination with evil comes much more genuinely than it does to someone from a Jewish background. Compared with Warhol, Arbus seems strikingly vulnerable, innocent--and certainly more pessimistic. Her Dantesque vision of the city (and the suburbs) has no reserves of irony. Although much of Arbus's material is the same as that depicted in, say, Warhol's Chelsea Girls (1966)...For Arbus, both freaks and Middle America were equally exotic: a boy marching in a pro-war parade and a Levittown housewife were as alien as a dwarf or a transvestite; lower-middle-class suburbia was as remote as Times Square, lunatic asylums, and gay bars. Arbus's work expressed her turn against what was public (as she experienced it), conventional, safe, reassuring--and boring--in favor of what was private, hidden, ugly, dangerous, and fascinating. These contrasts, now, seem almost quaint. What is ~ Susan Sontag
Pro War quotes by Susan Sontag
War and the 'war of the sexes' are neither divinely nor biologically ordained. ~ Riane Eisler
Pro War quotes by Riane Eisler
The diversity of sounds rule my ever presence with their highs and blows, encompassing the totality of sensual experience. I'm a child of the sirens of knowledge, a warrior for the truth in a world of washed perspectives and harsh realities. My voice cries the initial cry of the unborn into the perplexing illusion. I long for the realization of the human drama, the defeat of the dogs war, and the unity of existence. The beloved Gods of virtue have been undersold for the bleeding bread of empathy. I now awaist the triumphant roar of destiny, dressed in the inviting hand of a mother, perplexed by discovering, aroused by spirit. The door is open, the road transformed. The exit code to civilization is hacked beyond dispair, chased but the moon toward the freeing sun, on our journey to light. This is an open plea to the beautiful insanity of your hearts. It is time to consummate the kiss of oblivion into the obsidian of love! ~ Serj Tankian
Pro War quotes by Serj Tankian
Stopping a war; that is, stopping actual military combat, is not stopping a war in all its factors. During continuous hard strain a human mind can hold up; and it is truly amazing how much it can stand. Day by day, with that war-strain of worry pulling it down, it staunchly holds aloof, as a mighty oak in facing a storm. But it has a limit!! With too much too long strain, it will snap; just as that mighty oak will fall, in a long fight. ~ Ernest Vincent Wright
Pro War quotes by Ernest Vincent Wright
Mothers cowered over their small children, defenceless as their backs blossomed with red lines or swords were sunk into their flesh to reach the young ones they hid. ~ Osman Welela
Pro War quotes by Osman Welela
In 1945 music had a serious purpose; to defy post war depression & revitalize the romantic & hopeful aspirations of an exhausted ppl. ~ Pete Townshend
Pro War quotes by Pete Townshend
Feminist movement is pro-family. ~ Bell Hooks

Since the handling of arms is a beautiful spectacle, it is delightful to young men. ~ Niccolo Machiavelli
Pro War quotes by Niccolo Machiavelli
This is now a global war on terror and, indeed, it is important, it is imperative that we win in the battles in Afghanistan and that we win in the battles in Iraq. And as the gentleman from Georgia has mentioned, this is not something that is going to be quick and easy. ~ Marsha Blackburn
Pro War quotes by Marsha Blackburn
I share Alfred Nobel's conviction that war is the greatest of all human disasters. Infectious disease runs a good second. ~ Peter C. Doherty
Pro War quotes by Peter C. Doherty
[There is] a duty in refusing to cooperate in any undertaking that violates the Constitutional rights of the individual. This holds in particular for all inquisitions that are concerned with the private life and the political affiliations of the citizens. ~ Albert Einstein
Pro War quotes by Albert Einstein
First, climate change is the greatest long-term threat faced by humanity. It could cause more human and financial suffering than the two world wars and the great depression put together. All countries will be affected, but the poorest countries will be hit hardest. Secondly, the costs of inaction far outweigh the costs of action ~ David Miliband
Pro War quotes by David Miliband
Rwanda had presented the world with the most unambiguous case of genocide since Hitler's war against the Jews, and the world sent blankets, beans, and bandages to camps controlled by the killers, apparently hoping that everybody would behave nicely in the future. ~ Philip Gourevitch
Pro War quotes by Philip Gourevitch
Here's how I think of my money - as soldiers - I send them out to war everyday. I want them to take prisoners and come home, so there's more of them. ~ Kevin O'Leary
Pro War quotes by Kevin O'Leary
The first weekend after the attacks of September 11, George W. Bush had a meeting at Camp David with his top advisors, including Colin Powell, the secretary of state. And there was a lively debate about Iraq policy, in which some people from the Pentagon were arguing that the war against terrorism should include Saddam Hussein. ~ Elaine Sciolino
Pro War quotes by Elaine Sciolino
Two persons have been elected to the offices of President and Vice-President exclusively by the people of ONE SECTION of the country ... A clearer case of foreign domination could not well be presented. ~ John Willis Ellis
Pro War quotes by John Willis Ellis
As it turns out, the atrocities we suffered were committed by none other than ourselves, and the inner sense of guilt and fear sparked by this incident helped form the roots of the frantic hatred that thrives to this day. (2007: 9) ~ Hwang Sok-yong
Pro War quotes by Hwang Sok-yong
A great country ought not to make little wars. ~ Duke Of Wellington
Pro War quotes by Duke Of Wellington
I am the king. You're the knight sitting at my round table. That's the nature of our relationship when it comes to war or other conflict resolution in this family. ~ Sarah Black
Pro War quotes by Sarah Black
We are not one people. We are two peoples. We are a people for Freedom and a people for Slavery. Between the two, conflict is inevitable. ~ Horace Greeley
Pro War quotes by Horace Greeley
Patriotism is the surefire wingnut that binds our diverse society. Rulers historically used patriotism to manipulate the populous. Patriotism serves as the trump card to justify going to war and mandatory inscription of young men into military service. Patriotism is becoming synonyms with state justified coercion and murder of less powerful people. ~ Kilroy J. Oldster
Pro War quotes by Kilroy J. Oldster
It is funny how people - millions and millions of people - go about watching the telly and singing and humming in spite of the fact that they lost brother or father or lover in a war; and what is stranger still, they contemplate with equanimity seeing their other brothers or lovers off to yet another war. They don't see the tragedy of it all. Now and then one of the millions reads a book, or starts thinking, or something shakes him, and then he sees tragedy all over the place. Wherever he looks, he finds tragedy. He finds it tragic that other people don't see this tragedy around them and then he becomes like Font or Edna, or joins some party or other, or marches behind banners until his own life, seen detachedly, becomes a little tragic. ~ Waguih Ghali
Pro War quotes by Waguih Ghali
A lasting order cannot be established by bayonets. ~ Ludwig Von Mises
Pro War quotes by Ludwig Von Mises
I have never studied the art of paying compliments to women; but I must say that if all that has been said by orators and poets since the creation of the world in praise of women were applied to the women of America, it would not do them justice for their conduct during this war. ~ Abraham Lincoln
Pro War quotes by Abraham Lincoln
Through centuries of time, men and women, so very, very many, have lived and died. Some may die in the conflict that lies ahead. To us, and we bear solemn testimony of this, death will not be the end. There is life beyond this as surely as there is life here. Through the great plan which became the very essence of the War in Heaven, men shall go on living. ~ Gordon B. Hinckley
Pro War quotes by Gordon B. Hinckley
I have fought sixty battles, and I have learnt nothing which I did not know at the beginning. ~ Napoleon Bonaparte
Pro War quotes by Napoleon Bonaparte
The only hope of a short war is to prepare for a long one. ~ Calvin Coolidge
Pro War quotes by Calvin Coolidge
If the president is going to use so much language of theology and the Bible, then let's use that language for a serious discussion about the war in Iraq. And that was never done. ~ Jim Wallis
Pro War quotes by Jim Wallis
May therefore God give us the strength to continue to do our duty and with this prayer we bow in homage before our dead heroes, before those whom they have left behind in bereavement, and before all the other victims of this war. ~ Adolf Hitler

Pro War quotes by Zarina Bibi
Cutting down that tree was my last war!" I asked him who won, which I thought was a nice question, because it would let him say that he won, and feel proud. He said, "The ax won! It's always that way! ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
Pro War quotes by Jonathan Safran Foer
Therefore the master of war causes the enemy's forces to yield, but without fighting ; he captures his fortress, but without besieging it ; and without lengthy fighting takes the enemy's kingdom. Without tarnishing his weapons he gains the complete advantage. This is the assault by stratagem. ~ Sun Tzu
Pro War quotes by Sun Tzu
Relinquish! What! my vocation? My great work? My foundation laid on earth for a mansion in heaven? My hopes of being numbered in the band who have merged all ambitions in the glorious one of bettering their race - of carrying knowledge into the realms of ignorance - of substituting peace for war - freedom for bondage - religion for superstition - the hope of heaven for the fear of hell? Must I relinquish that? It is dearer than the blood in my veins. It is what I have to look forward to, and to live for. ~ Charlotte Bronte
