The man is United - cut him and he bleeds red ~ Alan Brazil
Man United quotes by Alan Brazil
As players, you just play for the club. I love Man United, I'm going to play for Man United, and that's what my focus is on. ~ Ryan Giggs
Man United quotes by Ryan Giggs
A state is a perfect body of free men, united together to enjoy common rights and advantages. ~ Hugo Grotius
Man United quotes by Hugo Grotius
But then I always wanted to play for Rangers. Man United is a great club and Alex Ferguson is a legend. ~ Paul Gascoigne
Man United quotes by Paul Gascoigne
This is the best Man United have played in Europe this season and, conversely, the opposition has been excellent. ~ Ron Atkinson
Man United quotes by Ron Atkinson
Man United have shops all round the world. It's a big money spinner plus the fact that they change their strip every five minutes. ~ Jack Charlton
Man United quotes by Jack Charlton
Man United, for all the doom and gloom, they're still the best club on the planet, they've got the best supporters and the best manager ... United will always be United. To me, they are still the best and whatever disappointments they're having at the moment, don't worry, they'll bounce back. They always do. ~ Roy Keane
Man United quotes by Roy Keane
Life is not a game of Solitaire; people depend on one another. When one does well, others are lifted. When one stumbles, others also are impacted. There are no one-man teams - either by definition or natural law. Success is a cooperative effort; it's dependent upon those who stand beside you. ~ Jon M. Huntsman Sr.
Man United quotes by Jon M. Huntsman Sr.
Man is a wolf to man.
[Lat., Homo homini lupus.] ~ Plautus
Man United quotes by Plautus
A truly free man is not free 'from' anything, nor free 'to' anything, he is just free. Free within himself. ~ Ilyas Kassam
Man United quotes by Ilyas Kassam
A man may have strong humanitarian and democratic principles, but if he happens to have been brought up as a bath-taking, shirt-changing lover of fresh air, he will have to overcome certain physical repugnance before he can bring himself to put those principles into practice. ~ Aldous Huxley
Man United quotes by Aldous Huxley
Man is an animal, but even in his animal
functions, he is not confined to the implicit, as the animal is; he
becomes conscious of them, recognizes them, and lifts them, as,
for instance, the process of digestion, into self-conscious science.
In this way man breaks the barrier of his implicit and immediate
character, so that precisely because he knows that he is an animal,
he ceases to be an animal and attains knowledge of himself as
spirit. ~ Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel
Man United quotes by Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel
The secret behind every godly man and woman is their belief in the truth that they have been forgiven ... Even when they say the wrong thing, do the wrong thing, or have a wrong thought, they continue to be forgiveness-conscious. ~ Joseph Prince
Man United quotes by Joseph Prince
For Aristotle the literary plot was analogous to the plot of the world in that both were eductions from the potency of matter. Sartre denies this for the world, and specifically denies, in the passage just referred to, that without potentiality there is no change. He reverts to the Megaric view of the matter, which Aristotle took such trouble to correct. But this is not our affair. The fact is that even if you believe in a Megaric world there is no such thing as a Megaric novel; not even Paterson. Change without potentiality in a novel is impossible, quite simply; though it is the hopeless aim of the cut-out writers, and the card-shuffle writers. A novel which really implemented this policy would properly be a chaos. No novel can avoid being in some sense what Aristotle calls 'a completed action.' This being so, all novels imitate a world of potentiality, even if this implies a philosophy disclaimed by their authors. They have a fixation on the eidetic imagery of beginning, middle, and end, potency and cause.

Novels, then, have beginnings, ends, and potentiality, even if the world has not. In the same way it can be said that whereas there may be, in the world, no such thing as character, since a man is what he does and chooses freely what he does--and in so far as he claims that his acts are determined by psychological or other predisposition he is a fraud, lâche, or salaud--in the novel there can be no just representation of this, for if the man were entirely free ~ Frank Kermode
Man United quotes by Frank Kermode
I've had three children . . . And some man who's never felt . . . his baby crown is stronger than me? Is tougher than me? ~ Grady Hendrix
Man United quotes by Grady Hendrix
Naturally, as Luther writes elsewhere, he recognizes that "the name 'Trinity' is nowhere to be found in the Holy Scriptures, but has been conceived and invented by man"4 (indeed by Tertullian, as we learned in chapter 4). However, he readily admits that "since we have no better term, we must employ [it]. ~ Stephen Bullivant
Man United quotes by Stephen Bullivant
Man I been did that. Man I been popped off. And if she aint tryna to give it up she get dropped off. ~ Nicki Minaj
Man United quotes by Nicki Minaj
Except a living man there is nothing more wonderful than a book! A message from the dead - from human souls we never saw, who lived, perhaps, thousands of miles away. And yet these, in those little sheets of paper, speak to us, arouse us, terrify us, comfort us, open their hearts to us as brothers. ~ Charles Kingsley
Man United quotes by Charles Kingsley
The truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth. Little men are dissolved in it. If there is any gold, truth makes it shine more brightly ... Truth, even in the mouth of an informer, a spy, a briber, can become bigger than anybody who tries to destroy it. Truth survives. ~ Adela Rogers St. Johns
Man United quotes by Adela Rogers St. Johns
Remember, until you become a buddha you have wasted your life. Buddhahood is your flowering, your fragrance. A tree is fulfilled when it blooms, and a man is fulfilled when he releases the fragrance of buddhahood, when he becomes luminous; then he comes to know who he is. In knowing that, all is known. In knowing that, God is known. In knowing that, truth is achieved - you become the truth, and truth liberates. Truth is freedom. ~ Rajneesh
Man United quotes by Rajneesh
This day does not belong to one man but to all. Let us together rebuild this world that we may share in the days of peace. ~ Aragorn
Man United quotes by Aragorn
The man who has been taught by the Holy Spirit will be a seer rather than a scholar. The difference is that the scholar sees and the seer sees through; and that is a mighty difference indeed. ~ Aiden Wilson Tozer
Man United quotes by Aiden Wilson Tozer
I love him in every way a women can love a man, from personal to universal but most of all its unconditional. ~ India.Arie
Man United quotes by India.Arie
There's a stereotype of what we are all meant to find attractive and erotic, but I don't neatly fall into those categories. Satin lingerie, a heart-shaped tub, flowers and champagne don't turn me on. You shouldn't be scrubbed clean before you have sex. I hate boys who are frightened of pee and shit and menstrual blood. I say no to boys who want to wake up next to a fully made-up woman. I say no to boys who prefer stockings and garters to perfect nudity. Who wants a boy who won't kiss you when you've just been sick? I want a man who will let me pee in his belly button. I want a man to accept the beast in me. I don't want a man who thinks the woman of his dreams doesn't go to the toilet. One does, you know. ~ Shirley Manson
Man United quotes by Shirley Manson
A man who should undertake to inquire into everything for himself, could devote to each thing but little time and attention. His task would keep his mind in perpetual unrest, which would prevent him from penetrating to the depth of any truth, or of grappling his mind indissolubly to any conviction. His intellect would be at once independent and powerless. He must therefore make his choice from amongst the various objects of human belief, and he must adopt many opinions without discussion, in order to search the better into that smaller number which he sets apart for investigation. It is true that whoever receives an opinion on the word of another, does so far enslave his mind; but it is a salutary servitude which allows him to make a good use of freedom.

A principle of authority must then always occur, under all circumstances, in some part or other of the moral and intellectual world. Its place is variable, but a place it necessarily has. The independence of individual minds may be greater, or it may be less: unbounded it cannot be. Thus the question is, not to know whether any intellectual authority exists in the ages of democracy, but simply where it resides and by what standard it is to be measured. ~ Alexis De Tocqueville
Man United quotes by Alexis De Tocqueville
If he hadn't been looking at Phil and had been looking at Viola Kersey he would have been a surprised young man. There was a look of startled dismay on her face as she realized what she'd done. And she didn't like it. For one instant the appealing little woman looked for all the world like the household variety of virago who's sweet as all get out as long as guests are present and ready to snatch the family bald-headed as soon as the door is closed. ~ Leslie Ford
Man United quotes by Leslie Ford
There is no greater happiness for a man than approaching a door at the end of a day knowing someone on the other side of that door is waiting for the sound of his footsteps. ~ Ronald Reagan
Man United quotes by Ronald Reagan
Aristocracy is an atmosphere; it is sometimes a healthy atmosphere; but it is very hard to say when it becomes an unhealthy atmosphere. You can prove that a man is not the son of a king, or that he is not the delegate of a definite number of people. But you cannot prove that a man is not a gentleman. ~ Gilbert K. Chesterton
Man United quotes by Gilbert K. Chesterton
If a man is keeping an idea to himself, and that idea is taken by stealth or trickery-I say it is stealing. But once a man has revealed his idea to others, it is no longer his alone. It belongs to the world. ~ Linda Sue Park
Man United quotes by Linda Sue Park
And how many Daeva children died when your people invaded? Far more than the Geziri children who will be lost tonight."
Muntadhir stared at him in shock. "Do you hear yourself? What sort of man plots that calculus?" Hate filled his gray eyes. "God, I hope it's her in the end. I hope Nahri puts a goddamned knife through whatever passes for your heart. ~ S.A. Chakraborty
Man United quotes by S.A. Chakraborty
Maggie, tou made it possible -but not probably for me to be the man I am now. ~ Damian Barr
Man United quotes by Damian Barr
Maurice was a silly man. Maurice liked being silly. ~ Barry Gibb
Man United quotes by Barry Gibb
People seem to think that if a man is a Member of Parliament he may do what he pleases. ... Being in Parliament used to be something when I was young, but it won't make a make a gentleman now-a-days. It seems to me that none but brewers, and tallow-chandlers, and lawyers go into Parliament now. ~ Anthony Trollope
Man United quotes by Anthony Trollope
The truth about any artist, however terrible, is better than the silence ... I know many writers fight fanatically to keep their published self separate from their private reality ... But I've always thought of that as something out of our social, time-serving side; not our true artistic ones. I don't see how the "lies" we write and the "lies" we live can or should be divided. They are seamless, one canvas, for me. While we live we can keep them apart, but not command the future to do the same. The outrage some Thomas Hardy fans have shown over all the revelations about the private man seems to me hypocritical in the extreme. They hugely enrich our understanding of him ... I have had to convince a number of friends and relatives that the kindest act to the [writer] is remembering them - and that all art comes from a human being, not out of mysterious thin air.
(Letter to Jo Jones, September 15, 1980, arguing for the preservation of John Collier's personal papers) ~ John Fowles
Man United quotes by John Fowles
Every man thinks his own geese swans. ~ Charles Dickens
Man United quotes by Charles Dickens
I believe that the fundamental alternative for man is the choice between "life" and "death"; between creativity and destructive violence; between reality and illusions; between objectivity
and intolerance; between brotherhood-independence and dominance-submission. ~ Erich Fromm
Man United quotes by Erich Fromm
Everything in the universe is everything else. A man is a killer is a saint is a monkey is a cockroach is a goldfish is a whale, and the Devil is just the angel who asked for More. ~ Craig Clevenger
Man United quotes by Craig Clevenger
Most women, once they get to know me, very much enjoy the sex but hate the actual man who gives it to them. ~ J.A. Huss
Man United quotes by J.A. Huss
They would have too easy a conquest over four separate men; whilst four men united make a troop. ~ Alexandre Dumas
Man United quotes by Alexandre Dumas
I love a man who has lived a full life and lived on the edge. ~ Carmen Electra
Man United quotes by Carmen Electra
You went away a little boy in a man's body and you came back the same way, except the man got his hair processed. ~ Stephen King
Man United quotes by Stephen King
Man, at his best, remains a sort of one-lunged animal, never completely rounded and perfect, as a cockroach, say, is perfect. ~ H.L. Mencken
Man United quotes by H.L. Mencken
Most of the female-directed films, if they got distribution, would have fewer dollars to support the film and play in fewer theaters than the men. Because the female-directed films go to smaller companies. So the gap starts widening. ~ Catherine Hardwicke
Man United quotes by Catherine Hardwicke
The United States is ... a warning rather than an example to the world. ~ Lydia M. Child
Man United quotes by Lydia M. Child
Drug dealer buy Jordans, crackhead buy crack. And a white man get paid off of all of that. ~ Kanye West
Man United quotes by Kanye West
A man ought to live so that everybody will know he is a Christian. ~ D.L. Moody
Man United quotes by D.L. Moody
Brave men are all vertebrates; they have their softness on the surface and their toughness in the middle. ~ Gilbert K. Chesterton
Man United quotes by Gilbert K. Chesterton
The suburb of Saffron Park lay on the sunset side of London, as red and ragged as a cloud of sunset. It was built of a bright brick throughout; its sky-line was fantastic, and even its ground plan was wild. It had been the outburst of a speculative builder, faintly tinged with art, who called its architecture sometimes Elizabethan and sometimes Queen Anne, apparently under the impression that the two sovereigns were identical. It was described with some justice as an artistic colony, though it never in any definable way produced any art. But although its pretensions to be an intellectual centre were a little vague, its pretensions to be a pleasant place were quite indisputable. The stranger who looked for the first time at the quaint red houses could only think how very oddly shaped the people must be who could fit in to them. Nor when he met the people was he disappointed in this respect. The place was not only pleasant, but perfect, if once he could regard it not as a deception but rather as a dream. Even if the people were not "artists," the whole was nevertheless artistic. That young man with the long, auburn hair and the impudent face -- that young man was not really a poet; but surely he was a poem. That old gentleman with the wild, white beard and the wild, white hat -- that venerable humbug was not really a philosopher; but at least he was the cause of philosophy in others. That scientific gentleman with the bald, egg-like head and the bare, bird-like neck had no real ~ G.K. Chesterton
Man United quotes by G.K. Chesterton
He sees with amazement that our defeats are but the stepping stones to victory and that all his victories are stepping stones to ruin. It was apparent to me that this bad man saw quite clearly the shadow of slowly and remorselessly approaching doom, and he railed at fortune for mocking him with the glitter of fleeting success. ~ Winston Churchill
Man United quotes by Winston Churchill
Humanity has determined it is supreme in the kingdom of animals, yet [the] beasts live a less tragic existence ... and many of their tragedies are a consequence of so-called human brilliance. ~ T.F. Hodge
Man United quotes by T.F. Hodge
If then a practical end must be assigned to a University course, I say it is that of training good members of society ... It is the education which gives a man a clear, conscious view of their own opinions and judgements, a truth in developing them, an eloquence in expressing them, and a force in urging them. It teaches him to see things as they are, to go right to the point, to disentangle a skein of thought to detect what is sophistical and to discard what is irrelevant. ~ John Henry Newman
Man United quotes by John Henry Newman
When I first saw Jo, I said boom, that was it, because I'm a one-woman man. ~ Ron Wood
Man United quotes by Ron Wood
Man is born to eat. ~ Craig Claiborne
Man United quotes by Craig Claiborne
A man who has to go to the village to get the news hasn't heard from himself in a long time. ~ Henry David Thoreau
