Horror films don't create fear. They release it. ~ Wes Craven
Film Release quotes by Wes Craven
For the last 10 years, I've felt increasing pressure to stop shooting film and start shooting video, but I've never understood why. It's cheaper to work on film, it's far better looking, it's the technology that's been known and understood for a hundred years, and it's extremely reliable. ~ Christopher Nolan
Film Release quotes by Christopher Nolan
Back in the '80s, a lot of the images I used were from TV or from films on TV. ~ Raymond Pettibon
Film Release quotes by Raymond Pettibon
Being in better tune with our sense helps to release some of our inhibitions and embrace the more open and playful parts of ourselves. Owning your sexiness builds confidence and encourages boldness in our everyday lives. When you feel sensual, you are better able to feel sexy. And when you feel sexy, you're feeling positive - and I think we can all agree that feeling positive makes a huge difference in our daily lives. ~ Elle Chase
Film Release quotes by Elle Chase
Body Electric ... It is the first song from my new short film called # Tropico that is coming out in the end of the month. ~ Lana Del Rey
Film Release quotes by Lana Del Rey
They also observed that the amygdala in the vaccinated monkeys didn't mature with time as it was supposed to. The amygdala, incidentally, plays an important role in social interactions. Maybe it's not so surprising they also observed that in the vaccinated monkeys the opioid antagonist diprenorphine (DPN) levels never lowered throughout the study. In the placebo group, the DPN levels decreased noticeably. One function of DPN is to block social interaction. What this means is the research showed that the social behavior of those monkeys that received the actual vaccines, where the DPN levels did not decrease, turned anti-social. We found there was at least one more study undertaken to verify the association between DPN and social behavior. Performed in 1981[141]. The authors of that study believe the release of opioids in the brain encourages social interactions. So, when the body fails to decrease the amount of the antagonist DPN, it not only blocks the opioids that encourage social interactions, but it blocks the desire to socially interact. ~ James Morcan
Film Release quotes by James Morcan
She thought, instead, with longing of more books - of buying books - of slipping into a narrative of other people's lives. That was release. ~ Peter Straub
Film Release quotes by Peter Straub
Try to imagine, Robert says, what it feels like when they release the bulls. The noise is incredible. Your whole body's shaking. It's like your heart's racing but standing still at the same time. And then, when the people around you start moving and you know the bulls are coming, it just gets worse and worse. You hear the bulls coming closer. You feel the ground shaking beneath your feet. And when you see that first bull and it's time to run, everyone starts screaming. You can't even think. All you can do is run as fast as your legs will carry you. ~ Jan Van Mersbergen
Film Release quotes by Jan Van Mersbergen
There's something about my films; they're informed by my sensibility. I have the same preoccupations, the same interests ... there's just something in the nuance, and so you always know it's a film of mine whether I sign my name to it or not. ~ Woody Allen
Film Release quotes by Woody Allen
Our favorite film is Vertigo. Amy Eleni and I must watch it seventeen or eighteen times a year, and with each viewing our raptness grows looser and looser; we don't need the visuals anymore
one or the other of us can go into the kitchen halfway through and call out the dialogue while making up two cups of Horlicks. From the minute you see empty, beautiful, blond Madeleine Elster, you know she is doomed because she exists in a way that Scottie, the male lead, just doesn't. You know that Madeleine is in big trouble, because she's a vast wound in a landscape where wounds aren't allowed to stay open
people have to shut up and heal up. She's in trouble because the film works to a plan that makes trauma speak itself out, speak itself to excess until it dies; this film at the peak of its slyness, when people sweat and lick their lips excessively and pound their chests and grab their hair and twist their heads from side to side, performing this unspeakable torment. ~ Helen Oyeyemi
Film Release quotes by Helen Oyeyemi
She wrapped her legs around his hips. Wrapped her arms around his shoulders. And she kissed him. This time, the pleasure was his. A deep, wrenching pleasure that washed over him as he climaxed inside of her. The release blinded him and fucking seemed to gut him as it went on and on, hollowing out his body. When the climax ended, he didn't release her. Because he wasn't letting her go, not ever again. ~ Cynthia Eden
Film Release quotes by Cynthia Eden
My first film is coming out, and it's in 3D, and it's 'The Hobbit,' so it's a bit weird. ~ Adam Brown
Film Release quotes by Adam Brown
The face of love is variable. I am able to love without demanding that my relationships assume the structures and forms I might choose for them. My love is fluid, flexible, committed, creative. My love allows people and events to unfold as they need. My love is not controlling. It does not dictate or demand. My love allows those I love the freedom to assume the forms most true to them. I release all those I love from my preconceptions of their path. I allow them the dignity of self-definition while I offer them a constant love that is every variable in shape. ~ Julia Cameron
Film Release quotes by Julia Cameron
I can honestly say, after talking about my mom passing away, I got the biggest weight off of my chest. Comedy is my therapy. That's how I deal with my problems, my personal battles. I talk about it. I give it to my fans. When they laugh at it, it's a release, for lack of a better word. ~ Kevin Hart
Film Release quotes by Kevin Hart
She thought of the women at Chicken Little's funeral. The women who shrieked over the bier and at the lip of the open grave. What she had regarded since as unbecoming behavior seemed fitting to her now; they were screaming at the neck of God, his giant nape, the vast back-of-the-head that he had turned on them in death. But it seemed to her now that it was not a fist-shaking grief they were keening but rather a simple obligation to say something, do something, feel something about the dead. They could not let that heart-smashing event pass unrecorded, unidentified. It was poisonous, unnatural to let the dead go with a mere whimpering, a slight murmur, a rose bouquet of good taste. Good taste was out of place in the company of death, death itself was the essence of bad taste. And there must be much rage and saliva in its presence. The body must move and throw itself about, the eyes must roll, the hands should have no peace, and the throat should release all the yearning, despair and outrage that accompany the stupidity of loss. ~ Toni Morrison
Film Release quotes by Toni Morrison
Once you have been able to forgive, the final step is to either renew or release the relationship you have with the one who has harmed you. Indeed, even if you never speak to the person again, even if you never see them again, even if they are dead, they live on in ways that affect your life profoundly. ~ Desmond Tutu
Film Release quotes by Desmond Tutu
Every day I spend in Hollywood, I start to realize how many films are made with no heart and no love. They just do it for the paycheck, and I cannot imagine making a film that way. ~ Fede Alvarez
Film Release quotes by Fede Alvarez
I worked as hard to write the worst film of the year as I did to write the best film of the year. ~ Brian Helgeland
Film Release quotes by Brian Helgeland
Before I started doing the film and when I found out I was going to be doing it, I just decided to pump up on the whole cardio stuff. Just in terms of stamina. ~ Parminder Nagra
Film Release quotes by Parminder Nagra
I tried to film 'Leaves of Grass' in Oklahoma, but it was literally about a million dollars less to shoot in Louisiana. ~ Tim Blake Nelson
Film Release quotes by Tim Blake Nelson
Albert Grossman called my office and spoke with my partner Richard Leacock and asked if we'd be interested in making a film with his client, Bob Dylan. ~ D. A. Pennebaker
Film Release quotes by D. A. Pennebaker
As far as I know, if you take your time, write a good script and make a good film, then give the audience time, they will accept it. ~ Ajay Devgan
Film Release quotes by Ajay Devgan
In film as a medium, you're often given a baddie and a goodie and told what to think about them; it's usually a very definite point of view. ~ Keira Knightley
Film Release quotes by Keira Knightley
A film must have two elements - it must deal with the real world and show how it could be made better. ~ Rouben Mamoulian
Film Release quotes by Rouben Mamoulian
If a writer has to find a rhythm if his novel is to come 'right', a rhythm which he may well discover in the rhythm of an individual sentence, then likewise a reader has to find a corresponding rhythm in his reading, which may equally well be discovered in responding to local effect.
The intimacy of this relationship between writer and reader is well caught in a recent observation made by Graham Greene, 'Novels should always have, if not dull, then at least level patches. That's where the excessive use of film technique, cutting sharply from intensity
to intensity is harmful. . . . The writer needs level passages for his subconscious to work up to the sharp scenes . . . and the reader needs those level patches too, so that he can share in the processes of creation - not by conscious analysis, but by absorption?'
To reflect on the wide-ranging effects of rhythm
in reading would seem to be one way of making a start on tracing that obscure route that leads from 'absorption' to 'conscious analysis'. ~ Ian Gregor
Film Release quotes by Ian Gregor
The escape from industrialism is not in socialism or in Sovietism. The answer lies in a return to a society where agriculture is practiced by most of the people. It is in fact impossible for any culture to be sound and healthy without a proper regard for the soil, no matter how many urban dwellers think that their food comes from grocers and delicatessens, or their milk from tin cans. This ignorance does not release them from a final dependence upon the farm and that most incorrigible of beings, the farmer. ~ Andrew Lytle
Film Release quotes by Andrew Lytle
World War Z was a great zombie film because those were zombie performances. It wasn't just a bunch of people walking around slow. They did close-ups on zombies who were performing, as a mindless dead thing. They were creepy and scary. ~ Tom Savini
Film Release quotes by Tom Savini
It has always been a dream of mine to put a play on film. ~ Laila Robins
Film Release quotes by Laila Robins
Making a film, setting it up and getting it cast and getting it together, is not an easy thing. ~ Daniel Day-Lewis
Film Release quotes by Daniel Day-Lewis
'The Quiet Ones' was my first film, let alone my first horror film, and I had so much fun. I had such a laugh, every single day. I look like such a feral child in it. ~ Olivia Cooke
Film Release quotes by Olivia Cooke
I come from a world where you get the film done, that's a success. ~ Abel Ferrara
