I think there's a poet who wrote once a tragedy by Shakespeare, a symphony by Beethoven and a thunderstorm are based on the same elements. I think that's a beautiful line. ~ Maximilian Schell
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Maximilian Schell
Is it possible that a tragedy can look so beautiful? The death of the leaves is the answer for this question! ~ Mehmet Murat Ildan
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Mehmet Murat Ildan
In love madly,
traveling though the
life-raft's unraveling
in a beautiful tragedy,
but gladly i'm still
paddling through
the ocean
of your
anatomy. ~ Curtis Tyrone Jones
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Curtis Tyrone Jones
MY LIFE IS a beautiful tragedy. A sad love story on an endless loop. The players may evolve and the setting may change, but it's always the same. Love. Pain. Death. Repeat. ~ S.L. Jennings
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by S.L. Jennings
The true tragedy in most people's lives is that they are far better than they imagine themselves to be and, as a result, end up being much less than they might be. ~ Earl R. Smith II
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Earl R. Smith II
,,, Do not get to the clouds!
But we can enjoy looking at them
As well as (beautiful things ♥), and that is the conviction ~ Kholood
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Kholood
Who says, who says you're not perfect? Who says you're not worth it? Who says you're the only one that's hurting? Trust me, that's the price of beauty, who says you're not pretty? Who says you're not beautiful? ... Who says? ~ Selena
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Selena
Dorian, Dorian," she cried, "before I knew you, acting was the one reality of my life. It was only in the theatre that I lived. I thought that it was all true. I was Rosalind one night and Portia the other. The joy of Beatrice was my joy, and the sorrows of Cordelia were mine also. I believed in everything. The common people who acted with me seemed to me to be godlike. The painted scenes were my world. I knew nothing but shadows, and I thought them real. You came - oh, my beautiful love! - and you freed my soul from prison. You taught me what reality really is. To-night, for the first time in my life, I saw through the hollowness, the sham, the silliness of the empty pageant in which I had always played. To-night, for the first time, I became conscious that the Romeo was hideous, and old, and painted, that the moonlight in the orchard was false, that the scenery was vulgar, and that the words I had to speak were unreal, were not my words, were not what I wanted to say. You had brought me something higher, something of which all art is but a reflection. ~ Oscar Wilde
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Oscar Wilde
Suffer. You could say it means endure, but that's not exactly right ~ E. Lockhart
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by E. Lockhart
If all you do is look out for yourself, then ... you're not really looking out for yourself.
Taking care of those that love and care about you is critical. Living just for yourself is not really living.
I'm a scientist. Its not only a beautiful and rewarding way to go through life, its also Darwinian! ~ Jose N Harris
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Jose N Harris
But in the garden of simple, where all of us are nameless, you were never anything but beautiful to me. ~ Ani DiFranco
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Ani DiFranco
Syn was braced on one forearm while he rubbed Furi's back with his other hand. Whispering soothingly in his ear, "You feel so good. You're so beautiful." He waited for Furi to adjust as he clenched his abs in determination. He wouldn't move until Furi was ready. ~ A.E. Via
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by A.E. Via
The day is like a diamond, all beautiful warmth on the outside but without any heat to accompany it. ~ Michelle Zink
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Michelle Zink
Beautiful music stimulates beautiful thoughts. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
I looked at my three friends, the lights exploding in the sky and illuminating their beautiful faces. They all represented a different part of my life, had all come to me at different times; why they'd all stuck with me, I was constantly tying to work out. ~ Candice Carty-Williams
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Candice Carty-Williams
THE BEAUTY OF GOD. Is there certain music that gives you deep joy? Is there a view or landscape that does the same? If someone says, "What is the use of that?" you answer that the music or landscape is not a means to some other end but profoundly satisfying in itself. David's supreme priority is "to gaze on the beauty of the Lord" (verse 4). "Gazing" is not a one-time glimpse but a steady, sustained focus. It is not petitionary prayer but praising, admiring, and enjoying God just for who he is. David finds God beautiful, not just useful for attaining goods. To sense God's beauty in the heart is to have such pleasure in him that you rest content. Prayer: ~ Timothy Keller
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Timothy Keller
If Harvey had not been taken from us 30 years ago, I think he would want me to say to all the gay and lesbian kids out there tonight who have been told they are less than by the churches, by the government, by their families, that you are beautiful, wonderful creatures of value, and that no matter what anyone tells you, God does love you and that very soon, I promise you, you will have equal rights, federally, across this great nation of ours. ~ Dustin Lance Black
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Dustin Lance Black
As she spoke, her voice never wavered; it was the voice of someone who has forced a larger meaning out of tragedy. Or ~ Barack Obama
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Barack Obama
Just so you know, I'd rather hear the painful truth than the false comfort of beautiful lies. ~ Tina Reber
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Tina Reber
He who seeks eternity should look at the sky, he who seeks the moment, should look at the cloud. ~ Mia Couto
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Mia Couto
The "kingdom of heaven" to which he referred was the state of God-consciousness, not the beautiful astral heavens that most people visualize, where virtuous souls go after death. ~ Goswami Kriyananda
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Goswami Kriyananda
That's the tragedy of exile. Things, as well as people, still exist, but you have to pretend to think of them as dead. ~ Négar Djavadi
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Négar Djavadi
American Casualties on the USS Maine

Two hundred & Sixty Six American sailors were killed when the American battleship, USS Maine, exploded and sank in Havana harbor after a massive explosion of undetermined origin. The first Board of Inquiry regarding the incident stated that a mine placed on or near the hull had sunk the ship. Later studies determined that it was more likely heat from smoldering coal in the ship's bunker that set off the explosion in an adjoining ammunition locker.

In February 1898, the recovered bodies of the American sailors who died on the battleship were interred in the Colon Cemetery, in Havana. Nearly two years later they were exhumed and now 163 of the crew that were killed in 1898 are buried at Arlington National Cemetery, near the USS Maine Memorial.

The beautiful monument shown is located in Central Park West in New York City. ~ Hank Bracker
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Hank Bracker
I would imagine that if you had a media brand that is solely focused on publishing 5,000-word stories with beautiful proprietary photographs and highly-produced videos, it would be a tough thing to make that economically sustainable. ~ Jim Bankoff
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Jim Bankoff
Not beautiful, not brilliant, no longer young. ~ Emma Donoghue
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Emma Donoghue
THAT AWKWARD moment when you lock eyes with two friends hanging in cages in a giant's kitchen. And one of them recognizes you and begins to shout your name, but you do not want your name shouted.
Blitzen staggered to his feet, gripped the bars of his cage, and yelled, "MAG - "
" - NIFICENT!" I bellowed over him. "What beautiful specimens! ~ Rick Riordan
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Rick Riordan
It may be a cliche, but cliche or not, I fear the day when the only marsh harriers or peregrines I can look at are in paintings by Joseph Wolf or Bruno Liljefors - and no matter how beautiful those works may be, life is the great thing: life, life, life. ~ John Burnside
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by John Burnside
Apple has hundreds of stores around the world that are beautiful, and they have a distribution system and a staff of 40 or 50 people that will help you. ~ Robert Scoble
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Robert Scoble
For tho' we know what we ought to be; & what it would be very sweet & beautiful to be; yet we can't be it. That is most sad, too. Life is a long Dardenelles, My Dear Madam, the shores whereof are bright with flowers, which we want to pluck, but the bank is too high; & so we float on & on, hoping to come to a landing-place at last . . . ~ Herman Melville
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Herman Melville
People who design machines and airplanes {or buildings}, no matter how much they believe that what they do is good, the winds of time eventually turn them into tools of industrial civilization. They're cursed dreams. Animation, too. Beautiful yet cursed dreams. ~ Hayao Miyazaki
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Hayao Miyazaki
Boxing encompasses the very worst and very best of human nature and its beautiful brutality is a marvelous contradiction for a writer. It conjures up so many irreconcilably antagonistic feelings. ~ Brian D'Ambrosio
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Brian D'Ambrosio
You know, I truly believe adoption is one of the greatest unheralded blessings in the world," she continues, her expression turning earnest. "Think how beautiful it is to give a child a home and to become a family because you choose to! Maybe that's the best way to make a family, don't you think? ~ Kristin Harmel
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Kristin Harmel
Distance is one of the most beautiful forms of respect ~ Hervé Guibert
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Hervé Guibert
!The true magick of art is the discovery of the sublime within the mundane, the beautiful within the grotesque, the light within the darkness and all those reversed.! ~ Andy Paciorek
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Andy Paciorek
Why, though? I knew it didn't make sense. I did love her in my own way. Very much. She was beautiful and fun and caring, but I was bored, so bored. I had to think of other girls to get a hard-on. I didn't want to start the long arduous road to her orgasm, let alone mine. Afraid to touch her in case it was mistaken for an application for sex. So in order to feel something through the numbness, I decided to perpetrate on my soul and hers the equivalent of quenching cigarettes on my paralyzed limbs. My hope was that if I registered pain, it would be welcomed as a sign of life. ~ Anonymous

Let's do something beautiful for God. ~ Mother Teresa
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Mother Teresa
Everyone has the right to walk from one end of the city to the other in secure and beautiful spaces. Everybody has the right to go by public transport. Everybody has the right to an unhampered view down their street, not full of railings, signs and rubbish. ~ Richard Rogers
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Richard Rogers
I'm very proud of my records, but my most natural creative tendencies have been in live performing. There's a beautiful element to recording and making records, but I've always felt a little shy with it. ~ Langhorne Slim
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Langhorne Slim
It is that deep spiritual affection that is as pure as it is perfect. It is beautiful, it is fine, it is the noblest form of affection. There is nothing unnatural about it. ~ Oscar Wilde
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Oscar Wilde
Shimamoto was in charge of the records. She'd take one from its jacket, place it carefully on the turntable without touching the grooves with her fingers, and, after making sure to brush the cartridge free of any dust with a tiny brush, lower the needle ever so gently onto the record. When the record was finished, she'd spray it and wipe it with a felt cloth. Finally she'd return the record to its jacket and its proper place on the shelf. Her father had taught her this procedure, and she followed his instructions with a terribly serious look on her face, her eyes narrowed, her breath held in check. Meanwhile, I was on the sofa, watching her every move. Only when the record was safely back on the shelf did she turn to me and give a little smile. And every time, this thought hit me: It wasn't a record she was handling. It was a fragile soul inside a glass bottle. ~ Haruki Murakami
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Haruki Murakami
The fall couture presentations in Paris are usually my favorite moment on the fashion calendar: beautiful weather, a busy rather than manic schedule, and, let's face it, seeing the artistry, the embroidery, and handmade magnificence that goes into every dress. ~ Elisabeth Von Thurn Und Taxis
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Elisabeth Von Thurn Und Taxis
Forty is a most beautiful age for both men and women. Did you know that in mystic thought forty symbolizes the ascent from one level to a higher one and spiritual awakening? When we mourn we mourn for forty days. When a baby is born it takes
forty days for him to get ready to start life on earth. And when we are in love we need to wait for forty days to be sure of our feelings.
The Flood of Noah lasted forty days, and while the waters destroyed life, they also washed all impurity away and enabled human beings to make a new, fresh start. In Islamic mysticism there are forty degrees between man and God. Likewise, there are four basic stages of consciousness and ten degrees in each, making forty levels in total. Jesus went into the wilderness for forty days and nights. Muhammad was forty years old when he received the call to become a prophet. Buddha meditated under a linden tree for forty days. Not to mention the forty rules of Shams.
You receive a new mission at forty, a new lease on life! You have reached a most auspicious number. Congratulations! And don't worry about getting old. There are no wrinkles or gray hair strong enough to defy the power of forty! ~ Elif Shafak
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Elif Shafak
Arin glanced up as she approached. One tree shadowed the knoll, a laran tree, leaves broad and glossy. Their shadows dappled Arin's face, made it a patchwork of sun and dark. It was hard to read his expression. She noticed for the first time the way he kept the scarred side of his face out of her line of sight. Or rather, what she noticed for the first time was how common this habit was for him in her presence--and what that meant.
She stepped deliberately around him and sat so that he had to face her fully or shift into an awkward, neck-craned position.
He faced her. His brow lifted, not so much in amusement as in his awareness of being studied and translated.
"Just a habit," he said, knowing what she'd seen.
"You have that habit only with me."
He didn't deny it.
"Your scar doesn't matter to me, Arin."
His expression turned sardonic and interior, as if he were listening to an unheard voice.
She groped for the right words, worried that she'd get this wrong. She remembered mocking him in the music room of the imperial palace (I wonder what you believe could compel me to go to such epic lengths for your sake. Is it your charm? Your breeding? Not your looks, surely.).
"It matters because it hurts you," she said. "It doesn't change how I see you. You're beautiful. You always have been to me." Even when she hadn't realized it, even in the market nearly a year ago. Then later, when she understood his beauty. Again, when she saw his face ~ Marie Rutkoski
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Marie Rutkoski
So beautiful but so bountiful.
So delicate but so fresh.
So magical but so simple.
So much to say but yet so silent.
So loving and so pleasant.
Oh, flowers of charming love,
You are life's joy and present. ~ Debasish Mridha
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Debasish Mridha
I would warn you that I do not attribute to nature either beauty or deformity, order or confusion. Only in relation to our imagination can things be called beautiful or ugly, well-ordered or confused. ~ Baruch Spinoza
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Baruch Spinoza
And the way he does look at me makes me feel absolutely beautiful. ~ Huntley Fitzpatrick
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Huntley Fitzpatrick
This man was gorgeous. I'm mentioning this because women live their lives secretly waiting for their lives to become movies. We act like men are the ones shallow enough to desire an unending stream of beautiful women but really, if a charismatic narcissist beautiful bad boy man actually desires us, seems to choose us, we go to pieces. We suddenly feel like we are finally in that movie rather than a life. Just what we always wanted. To be chosen by the best looking man in the room. Rhett Butler. Even though we are of course smarter and more mature and more together than to ever want that. Or admit it. ~ Lidia Yuknavitch
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Lidia Yuknavitch
If you're going to fight for love, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start. This could mean losing that love, money, friends, relatives and maybe even your mind. It could mean not eating for three or four days. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could mean embarrassment. It could mean mockery-- but they are all simply a test of your endurance, of how much you really want it. Her. Him. There are no safety nets in the fight for love.
And, you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can ever imagine. If you're going to try to fight for love, go all the way. There is no other better feeling than that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will burn with fire. You will ride life like a horse straight down a path of flaming beautiful insanity. It's the only good fight there is left in this world. The fight for love.

There are no losers in the fight for love. Only cowards. ~ Jose N Harris
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Jose N Harris
The Body As Braille"

He tells me "your back
is so beautiful." He traces
my spine with his hand.

I'm burning like the white ring
around the moon. "A witch's moon,"
dijo mi abuela. The schools call it

"a reflection of ice crystals."
It's a storm brewing in the cauldron
of the sky. I'm in love

but won't tell him
if it's omens
or ice. ~ Lorna Dee Cervantes
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Lorna Dee Cervantes
Why does everyone want to own me?" Pippa mumbles. She's got her head in her hands. "Why do they all want to control my life
how I look, whom I see, what I do or don't do? Why can't they just let me alone?"
"Because you're beautiful," Ann answers, watching the fire lick her palm. "People always think they can own beautiful things. ~ Libba Bray
Beautiful Tragedy quotes by Libba Bray
