Hiding who you were isn't lying about who you are. But it isn't doing anyone else a damn bit of good. ~ Amber Neko Meador
Amber Meador quotes by Amber Neko Meador
The block of sky in our twin high windows became a nectarine, amber and rose pink, and we lay in silence as white sunlight broke. ~ Aspen Matis
Amber Meador quotes by Aspen Matis
Ten Best Song to Strip
1. Any hip-swiveling R&B fuckjam. This category includes The Greatest Stripping Song of All Time: "Remix to Ignition" by R. Kelly.

2. "Purple Rain" by Prince, but you have to be really theatrical about it. Arch your back like Prince himself is daubing body glitter on your abdomen. Most effective in nearly empty, pathos-ridden juice bars.

3. "Honky Tonk Woman" by the Rolling Stones. Insta-attitude. Makes even the clumsiest troglodyte strut like Anita Pallenberg. (However, the Troggs will make you look like even more of a troglodyte, so avoid if possible.)

4. "Pour Some Sugar on Me" by Def Leppard. The Lep's shouted choruses and relentless programmed drums prove ideal for chicks who can really stomp. (Coincidence: I once saw a stripper who, like Rick Allen, had only one arm.)

5. "Amber" by 311. This fluid stoner anthem is a favorite of midnight tokers at strip joints everywhere. Mellow enough that even the most shitfaced dancer can make it through the song and back to her Graffix bong without breaking a sweat. Pass the Fritos Scoops, dude.

6. "Miserable" by Lit, but mostly because Pamela Anderson is in the video, and she's like Jesus for strippers (blonde, plastic, capable of parlaying a broken nail into a domestic battery charge, damaged liver). Alos, you can't go wrong stripping to a song that opens with the line "You make me come."

7. "Back Door Man" by The Doors. Almost too eas ~ Diablo Cody
Amber Meador quotes by Diablo Cody
Love, for those lucky enough to experience it, is extraordinary. ~ Amber L. Johnson
Amber Meador quotes by Amber L. Johnson
And a lot of times in slam poetry I feel like people are so worried about the performance that the words might not be as strong. ~ Amber Tamblyn
Amber Meador quotes by Amber Tamblyn
In the early '80s, I spent a year working on a verse-play -- based on the life of Anne Maguire (whose sister, Mairead, founded the Peace People movement after Anne took her own life). Anne's three children were killed on the pavement as she was wheeling the pram one day in 1976 by an IRA fugitive's getaway car -- the driver fatally shot by a British soldier; this singular incident crystallized for me so much of the terror then in the air. Writing was a way of keeping clear -- in the sense of fixing it, restoring it facet by facet, to clarity. Catching a moment of history like a fly in amber with the chorus of witnesses alive, outside. After all, poetry affords this license and extreme economy.

I have no business, of course, to write about such matters, being a complete foreigner in Ireland. But you do it because it is nobody's business. What you write is nobody's business. Isn't that poetry?

- "What You Write Is Nobody's Business": An Interview With Wong May (The Believer, May 2014) ~ Wong May
Amber Meador quotes by Wong May
Life was for living, so why was I wasting it? ~ Amber Fae
Amber Meador quotes by Amber Fae
Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas. And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination. ~ Robert Fulghum
Amber Meador quotes by Robert Fulghum
Yes," he said. "But I wonder ... I've a peculiar feeling that I may never see you again. It is as if I were one of those minor characters in a melodrama who gets shuffled offstage without ever learning how things turn out."
"I can appreciate the feeling," I said. "My own role sometimes makes me want to strangle the author. But look at it this way: inside stories seldom live up to one's expectations. Usually they are grubby little things, reducing down to the basest of motives when all is known. Conjectures and illusions are often the better possessions. ~ Roger Zelazny
Amber Meador quotes by Roger Zelazny
When we hold it (amber) in our hands, we hold also that furious epoch where rioted all monsters and poisons, where death fecundated and life destroyed, where superabundance demanded such existences, no souls, but fiercest animal fire - just for that I hate it! ~ Harriet Prescott Spofford
Amber Meador quotes by Harriet Prescott Spofford
Celadon, azure, crimson and amber.
They are beautiful, for sure.
But they have nothing on you.

Even the piano and its shades of melodic sounds.
And even, when I have the chance, Chopin in the park in Paris.
These are some of my fondest memories.

But still it is hard to think of the subtle nuances in the gold of the sun when I see you.
In you there is no viridian, cerulean, venetian, or citrine.

This is not to say that there is no color in you, because there is.
I just have not found the right words to describe you, and somehow,
I feel that I never will. ~ Queenbe Monyei
Amber Meador quotes by Queenbe Monyei
Have you ever heard wolves howl in a place where wolves do not reside? ~ Amber Tamblyn
Amber Meador quotes by Amber Tamblyn
Fling. That's how he saw their night together. She'd been thinking of box-sets with a blanket over their laps and mini-breaks to Rome or Berlin and making love in front of an open fire or on a deserted beach with the sun reflecting gold in those amber flecks in his eyes . . . and he'd been thinking 'fling'. ~ Tammy Cohen
Amber Meador quotes by Tammy Cohen
There is Shadow and there is Substance, and this is the root of all things. Of Substance, there is only Amber, the real city, upon the real Earth, which contains everything. Of Shadow, there is an infinitude of things. Every possibility exists somewhere as a Shadow of the real. ~ Roger Zelazny
Amber Meador quotes by Roger Zelazny
That night on the Swan we'd promised each other that we'd have some sort of romance. Something unprecedented. "We don't have to be like other people," she'd said, and I'd believed her. ~ Amber Dermont
Amber Meador quotes by Amber Dermont
Remember to keep a true heart and a true mind, and that the power of the dream is yours. ~ Amber R. Duell
Amber Meador quotes by Amber R. Duell
Here I was with the guy I maybe-loved, relaxing by the ocean with salty crisp breezes and blue-gray sea curving into a for-ever horizon. We even had background music to add to the romantic ambience. And except for the "can't kiss because he's my brother" thing, this was the perfect romantic moment. ~ Linda Joy Singleton
Amber Meador quotes by Linda Joy Singleton
The darkness is not so dense as it was; there are faint streaks on the horizon's verge; mist is in the valleys, but there is a radiance on the distant hill. It comes nearer
that promise of the day. The clouds roll rapidly away, and they are fringed with amber and gold. It is, it is the blest sunlight that I feel around me
Morning! It is morning! ~ William Morley Punshon
Amber Meador quotes by William Morley Punshon
Grunthor's hand came to rest on her back as she teetered on her fibrous perch. She was almost on eye level with him, and within those amber eyes, remarkable in their humanity above the rest of the monstrous face, there was a distinct look of sympathy. "The door is gone, miss; Oi'm sorry. We 'ave to press on, we can't go back." Rhapsody whirled around and glared down at Achmed, her eyes blazing green in the light of the torch. "What do you mean, we can't go back? We have to go back - you have to let me out. ~ Elizabeth Haydon
Amber Meador quotes by Elizabeth Haydon
People in real life cuss God out when they're angry. That's all real. ~ Amber Tamblyn
Amber Meador quotes by Amber Tamblyn
Being put in a group, I hate that. I don't think anyone likes it. Everyone just wants to be their own person. ~ Amber Le Bon
Amber Meador quotes by Amber Le Bon
If I'm feeling in a naughty mood, I'll steal some of Mama's Creme De La Mer. If I'm feeling in a very naughty mood, I'll steal some of Daddy's Creme De La Mer. On the whole though, I'm very low maintenance. ~ Amber Le Bon
Amber Meador quotes by Amber Le Bon
paralyzed by the past, caught in the amber of loss. ~ Karen Perry
Amber Meador quotes by Karen Perry
I don't know a lot of things. I don't know why I didn't hear the door click. Why I didn't lock the damn door to begin with. Or why it didn't register that something was wrong, so mercilessy wrong when I felt the mattress shift under his weight. Why I didn't scream when I opened my eyes and saw him crawling between my sheets. Or why I didn't to try to fight him when I still stood a chance. ~ Amber Smith
Amber Meador quotes by Amber Smith
Do flies trapped in amber scream? ~ Elizabeth Lowell
Amber Meador quotes by Elizabeth Lowell
If Amber kept up her act forever, it would only be a matter of time before the broken pieces of her real self were too small to ever be put back together. I didn't know what happened to people once they were unfixable. I only hoped I never had to find out. ~ Cole Gibsen
Amber Meador quotes by Cole Gibsen
Treat your body like you would treat a friend. ~ Amber Riley
Amber Meador quotes by Amber Riley
Whenever you turn your head, your deaths dodge behind you. Wherever you look, they hide. They hide in a teacup. Or in a dewdrop. Or in a breath of wind. ~ Philip Pullman
Amber Meador quotes by Philip Pullman
O, beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties,
Above the fruited plain ... ~ Katharine Lee Bates
Amber Meador quotes by Katharine Lee Bates
I don't think it's always good to read lots of poetry. ~ Amber Tamblyn
Amber Meador quotes by Amber Tamblyn
Some loves, like the one Mum felt for Dad, disappear forever and are best forgotten about; some are best suspended in the amber of memory - localized to a specific time and place, like a really great dish you ate at a restaurant on holiday; and other loves carry on forever, no matter how distant their nucleus becomes. ~ Matthew Crow
Amber Meador quotes by Matthew Crow
The part of acting business is the struggle to do what you love and to maintain body image and to maintain this sort of false stature of who you're supposed to be as a role model and also who you are supposed to be to yourself personally and privately. ~ Amber Tamblyn
Amber Meador quotes by Amber Tamblyn
He surged upward and paused at her entrance.
"Look at me, Alexa."
Half drugged, she opened her eyes and gazed at the man she loved with every part of her being, waiting for him to claim her, waiting to take anything he could give.
"It's always been you." He paused as if to be sure she heard and understood the words. Intensity gleamed within amber depths. He gripped her fingers, as if trying to speak beyond words.
"And it will always be you. ~ Jennifer Probst
Amber Meador quotes by Jennifer Probst
I have been much amused at ye singular phenomena resulting from bringing of a needle into contact with a piece of amber or resin fricated on silke clothe. Ye flame putteth me in mind of sheet lightning on a small-how very small-scale. ~ Isaac Newton
Amber Meador quotes by Isaac Newton
