Love adorns itself; it seeks to prove inward joy by outward beauty ~ Rabindranath Tagore
Outward Beauty quotes by Rabindranath Tagore
Love's gift cannot be given, it waits to be accepted. ~ Rabindranath Tagore
Outward Beauty quotes by Rabindranath Tagore
What matters is not your outward appearance ... but your inner disposition. Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle gracious kind that God delights in. ~ Saint Peter
Outward Beauty quotes by Saint Peter
Love does not claim possession, but gives freedom. ~ Rabindranath Tagore
Outward Beauty quotes by Rabindranath Tagore
When the inner beauty exceeds the outward beauty--it creates a magical dance in the heart. ~ Angie Karan
Outward Beauty quotes by Angie Karan
Outward beauty is not enough; to be attractive a woman must use words, wit, playfulness, sweet-talk, and laughter to transcend the gifts of nature. ~ Petronius
Outward Beauty quotes by Petronius
Natural men may have lively impressions on their imaginations; and we can't determine but that the devil, who transforms himself into an angel of light, may cause imaginations of an outward beauty, or visible glory, and of sounds and speeches and other such things; ~ Jonathan Edwards
Outward Beauty quotes by Jonathan Edwards
When you come to our meetings, you can see nothing outwardly. But in all [454] probability you do see something - God Himself expressed. Perhaps after attending a meeting you wonder within yourself, "My, it was very good there with them, but I can't pin down exactly in what way they are good. Their singing is not that musical. No one is dressed in an attractive way. There is no outward beauty or form. But, there is something there among them." This "something" is the expression of God. God is our expression. He is our form, beauty, and attraction. As the church, we have returned to God's original purpose, to the purpose He had in the beginning - that man express Him and represent Him. This is the Lord's recovery. ~ Witness Lee
Outward Beauty quotes by Witness Lee
The harmony of the world is made manifest in Form and Number, and the heart and soul and all the poetry of Natural Philosophy are embodied in the concept of mathematical beauty. ~ D'Arcy Wentworth Thompson
Outward Beauty quotes by D'Arcy Wentworth Thompson
Desire is the outcome of sensation - the outcome with all the images that thought has built. And this desire not only breeds discontent but a sense of hopelessness.
Never suppress it, never discipline it but probe into the nature of it - what is the origin, the purpose, the intricacies of it? To delve deep into it is not another desire, for it has no motive; it is like understanding the beauty of a flower, to sit down beside it and look at it. ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
Outward Beauty quotes by Jiddu Krishnamurti
Nature was beautiful, even in her tears ~ Jerome K. Jerome
Outward Beauty quotes by Jerome K. Jerome
Words - I wonder if you can realize how much I love them. You are too much preoccupied with mere things and ideas and people to understand the full beauty of words. Your mind is not a literary mind. ~ Aldous Huxley
Outward Beauty quotes by Aldous Huxley
Lauga had asked Margret whether she thought there would be an outward hint of the evil that drives a person to murder. Evidence oft he Devil: a herelip, a snaggletooth, a birthmark; some small outer defect. There must be a warning, some way of knowing, so that honest people could keep their guard. ~ Hannah Kent
Outward Beauty quotes by Hannah Kent
But Sir Alistair's gaze was different. Those other men had looked at her with lust or speculation or crass curiosity, but they hadn't been looking at her really. They'd been looking at what she represented to them: physical love or a valuable prize or an object to be gawked at. When Sir Alistair stared at her, well, he was looking at her. ~ Elizabeth Hoyt
Outward Beauty quotes by Elizabeth Hoyt
Everything you do,
do with great love.
Make it a song of your soul,
and beauty of your heart. ~ Debasish Mridha
Outward Beauty quotes by Debasish Mridha
He who has followed the path of love's initiation in the proper order will on arriving at the end suddenly perceive a marvelous beauty, the source of all our efforts ~ Plato
Outward Beauty quotes by Plato
Being Happy on Purpose is about making a conscious decision in each moment to move towards happiness. It is not about a perfect life. It is not about having things. It is about creating YOUR experience and being open to the beauty, joy, and abundance that already exists in your life and calibrating yourself to recognize it with ease ~ Jennifer Sparks
Outward Beauty quotes by Jennifer Sparks
The most valuable things in life are priceless. They are courage, compassion, wisdom, respect for ourselves and others, and a host of characteristics that we call the beauty of the human spirit. ~ Herbie Hancock
Outward Beauty quotes by Herbie Hancock
Life is beautiful
only if the eyes of the heart are beautiful
It looks almost catastrophic via the mind
Measuring, quibbling and boasting
Let the heart control the mind
and we are off to the next Galaxy
both inward and outward. ~ Gabriel Iqbal
Outward Beauty quotes by Gabriel Iqbal
Could you free yourself from the chains of the oppressors and learn to live in the beauty of YOU? ~ Tony Curl
Outward Beauty quotes by Tony Curl
My mother had enough magic to give me three blessings before she died," I said, and he instinctively bent in to hear it. "The first was wit; the second beauty, and the third - that fools should recognize neither." Irina ~ Naomi Novik
Outward Beauty quotes by Naomi Novik
War and peace. There are blurred lines in the realities of both. A separation anxiety as the paradigm shifts from the air that a sniper wears on his face (real life, entertainment for the masses or the propaganda machine you decide), to the blueprint of an assassination in a driveway (Chris Hani lying in a pool of his own blood). You know that we cannot eat stones but we can burn, butcher, necklace, murder, forcibly remove and displace entire families, races of different faiths in the name of apartheid. Nelson Mandela, Steve Biko and Chris Hani instruments of change, war, tolerance or peace. The Romantics got it right before anyone else did. Truth is beauty. The truth is South Africa is not cool anymore. ~ Abigail George
Outward Beauty quotes by Abigail George
The propriety of thoughts and words, which are the hidden beauties of a play, are but confusedly judged in the vehemence of action. ~ John Dryden
Outward Beauty quotes by John Dryden
See the world through the eyes of your inner child.
The eyes that sparkle in awe and amazement as they see love, magic and mystery in the most ordinary things. ~ Henna Sohail
Outward Beauty quotes by Henna Sohail
The beauty that shimmers in the yellow afternoons of October, who ever could clutch it? ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Outward Beauty quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson
Remember even if you don't see me, I am always there just like the Moon in the Sky! ~ Kalpana Bhandari
Outward Beauty quotes by Kalpana Bhandari
Sometimes, instructing children in the old days, he had been asked by some black lozenge-eyed Indian child, What is God like? and he would answer facilely with references to the father and the mother, or perhaps more ambitiously he would include brother and sister and try to give some idea of all loves and relationships combined in an immense and yet personal passion....But at the centre of his own faith there always stood the convincing mystery - that we were made in God's image. God was the parent, but He was also the policeman, the criminal, the priest, the maniac, and the judge. Something resembling God dangled from the gibbet or went into odd attitudes before bullets in a prison yard or contorted itself like a camel in the attitude of sex. He would sit in the confessional and hear the complicated dirty ingenuities which God's image had thought out, and God's image shook now, up and down on the mule's back, with the yellow teeth sticking out over the lower lip, and god's image did its despairing act of rebellion with Maria in the hut among the rats. He said, Do you feel better now? Not so cold, eh? Or so hot? and pressed his hand with a kind of driven tenderness upon the shoulders of God's image.

Such a lot of beauty. Saints talk about the beauty of suffering. Well, we are not saints, you and I. Suffering to us is just ugly. Stench and crowding and pain. That is beautiful in that corner - to them. It needs a lot of learning to see things with a saint's eye: a s ~ Graham Greene
Outward Beauty quotes by Graham Greene
Bliss is inherent in the Self as fragrance is inherent in a flower. As the flower of the Self-love blossoms, bliss comes spontaneously as the fragrance. ~ Banani Ray
Outward Beauty quotes by Banani Ray
Never forget to appreciate yourself and to reveal your own inner beauty. ~ Debasish Mridha
Outward Beauty quotes by Debasish Mridha
The South is very beautiful but its beauty makes one sad because the lives that people live, and have lived here, are so ugly that now they cannot even speak to one another. It does not demand much reflection to be appalled at the inevitable state of mind achieved by people who dare not speak freely about those things which most disturb them. ~ James Baldwin
Outward Beauty quotes by James Baldwin
The aesthetic serviceability of objects of beauty is not greatly nor universally heightened by possession. ~ Thorstein Veblen
Outward Beauty quotes by Thorstein Veblen
Perhaps you have to have a little bit of hope to believe that beauty can be found, to believe that life does come back, that something can surprise you. And maybe hope and wonder are somehow related. Maybe wonder feeds hope and hope feeds wonder. You see something beautiful and it reminds you that it's possible to see something beautiful. ~ Jamie Tworkowski
Outward Beauty quotes by Jamie Tworkowski
Whereas religious prayers sing of peace and harmony, religion has divided human beings through an atrocious history of enmity and bloodshed. Yet, behind the veil of superficiality and hypocrisy, I always believed in the inherent beauty of God that lies at the essence of all true spiritual paths. ~ Radhanath Swami
Outward Beauty quotes by Radhanath Swami
I am the sum of all the words I've said to you,
I am the sum of all the things I've done to you.
I'm the sum of all my right decisions and all my mistakes,
all my triumphs and all my defeats,
I'm all the moments I dared
and all those I was scared,
all the ugliness I created
and all the beauty I destroyed. ~ Angelos Michalopoulos
Outward Beauty quotes by Angelos Michalopoulos
The beauty of melancholy cannot be attained by looking. You must embrace the terror it breeds. Then you will be pleased. ~ S.E. Lindberg
Outward Beauty quotes by S.E. Lindberg
Does an iris seek to repay the sun which gave it life? No. The mere beauty of the iris is tenfold thanks enough for each day the sun can see the wonder it created. ~ John Shors
Outward Beauty quotes by John Shors
Love is for children, said the girl.
Death is for fools, said the shadow.
Darkness is my destiny, said the boy.
Allegiance is my undoing, said the eagle.
Suffering is our fate, said the beauty.
And they were all horribly wrong. ~ Hafsah Faizal
Outward Beauty quotes by Hafsah Faizal
My wife Ricky is my muse. Her personal style and natural beauty have always been my inspiration. ~ Ralph Lauren
Outward Beauty quotes by Ralph Lauren
For me, there is a strange beauty in remembering. ~ Kia Amazona

Be sure what you want and be sure about yourself. Fashion is not just beauty, it's about good attitude. You have to believe in yourself and be strong. ~ Adriana Lima
Outward Beauty quotes by Adriana Lima
I see the goodness and beauty in everyone, and everything is a gift given for me and for all of us. If you don't love it, question your mind until you do. ~ Byron Katie
Outward Beauty quotes by Byron Katie
When I stared up at the jeweled sky, it was as if there were an
obstruction between my eyes and its beauty. The obstruction was a face,
just an unremarkable human face, but I couldn't quite seem to banish it
from my mind. ~ Stephenie Meyer
Outward Beauty quotes by Stephenie Meyer
Do you see this heart-stopping beauty? Look closely, because in a moment your heart will stop. ~ Stephen King
Outward Beauty quotes by Stephen King
There are people all over the world who carry the mermaid inside them, that otherworldly beauty and longing and desire that made her reach for heaven when she lived in the darkness of the sea. ~ Carolyn Turgeon
Outward Beauty quotes by Carolyn Turgeon
The beauty of being a woman is that even without children of your own, you can still be the greatest mother. ~ Gift Gugu Mona
Outward Beauty quotes by Gift Gugu Mona
The rose that grows in grace will blossom into beauty ~ Nancy B. Brewer
Outward Beauty quotes by Nancy B. Brewer
A rose doesn't know It's beautiful
But everyone else knows !
Self love is not easy
But remember you are just like the rose.
-like a rose ~ Nancy Omar
Outward Beauty quotes by Nancy Omar
Each time I glanced into the rearview mirror, the black around my eyes was bigger and darker. Every once in a while Tom and I would look at each other with a silent acknowledgement that we had just worked our greatest match. When I think of it now, a quote from Georges Braque comes to mind: "Art is a wound turned to light." To my mind, that is also the beauty of pro wrestling. ~ Bret Hart
Outward Beauty quotes by Bret Hart
Great occasions rally great principles, and brace the mind to a lofty bearing, a bearing that is even above itself. But trials that make no occasion at all, leave it to show the goodness and beauty it has in its own disposition. And here precisely is the superhuman glory of Christ as a character, that He is just as perfect, exhibits just as great a spirit in little trials as in great ones. ~ Horace Bushnell
Outward Beauty quotes by Horace Bushnell
I end up watching this movie about some girl who's supposed to be so smart and edgy and unpopular. She wears glasses, that's how you know she's so smart. And she's the only one that has dark hair in the school- a place that looks like Planet Blond.

Anyway, she somehow ends up going to the prom- hello, gag- and she doesn't wear her glasses, so suddenly she's all beautiful. And she's bashful and shy because she doesn't feel comfortable wearing a dress. But then the guy says something like, "Wow, I never knew you were so pretty," and she feels on top of the world.

So, basically, the whole point is she's pretty. Oh, and smart, too. But what's really important here is that she's pretty.

For a second I think about Katie. About her thin little Clarissa Le Fey.

It must be a pain being fat. There are NO fat people on Planet Blond.

I don't get it. I mean, even movies where the actress is smart- like they seem like they'd be smart in real life, they're all gorgeous. And they usually get a boyfriend somewhere in the story. Even if they say they don't want one. They always, always end up falling in love, and you're supposed to be like, "Oh, good."

I once said this to my mom, and she laughed. "Honey, Hollywood... reality- two different universes. Don't make yourself crazy."

Which made me feel pretty pathetic. Like I didn't know the difference between a movie and the real world.

But then when eve ~ Mariah Fredericks
Outward Beauty quotes by Mariah Fredericks
Beauty is no handicap if you don't think about it. ~ Sophia Loren
Outward Beauty quotes by Sophia Loren
All visible things would not claim as their king some color of their region, which is actually among the visible things of this region, but rather would say, he is the highest possible beauty of the most lucid and perfect color. ~ Nicholas Of Cusa
