Don't follow me, follow your mind, be you! ~ Maliheh Sadat Razavi
Sadat quotes by Maliheh Sadat Razavi
I don't understand what people are talking about in different rhymes glorifying jail. If you like going to bed early, getting yelled at, seeing a fight, seeing somebody getting their head split open, or fighting over the TV then that's the place for you. ~ Sadat X

Sadat quotes by Maliheh Sadat Razavi
I found that I faced a highly complex situation, and that I couldnt hope to change it until I had armed myself with the necessary psychological and intellectual capacity. My contemplation of life and human nature in that secluded place had taught me that he who cannot change the very fabric of his thought will never be able to change reality, and will never, therefore, make any process. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
I want my grandchildren to look like my grandparents. I don't want them to look like Anwar Sadat or Foo Man Chu or Whoopi Goldberg. ~ Jared Taylor
Sadat quotes by Jared Taylor
If you don't have the capacity to change yourself and your own attitudes, then nothing around you can be changed. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
The books which you have read must be a part of you not all of you! ~ Maliheh Sadat Razavi
Sadat quotes by Maliheh Sadat Razavi
There's a long history in the Middle East of "bread intifadas," starting with 1977 in Egypt, when Anwar Sadat tried to lift bread subsidies. People rebelled and poured into Tahrir Square, shouting slogans against the government just like they did earlier this year. Sadat learned his lesson and kept bread subsidies in place, and so did a host of other Middle Eastern dictators - many of whom were propped up for years by the West, partly through subsidized American wheat. ~ Annia Ciezadlo
Sadat quotes by Annia Ciezadlo
To damage the sovereignty of the individual is to replace a community inspired by love, benevolence, and beauty by another based solely on power. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
Think of the great spirits of the last 50 years: Ghandi killed, not by a Pakistani Muslim, but one of his own Hindus, who hated him because he wanted India for the Muslims, the Sikhs, for everybody; Sadat, killed by the organization that Mr. bin Laden's No. 2 heads now, not by an Israeli, but by an Egyptian. My friend Yitzhak Rabin
after a lifetime defending Israel, killed
not by a Palestinian terrorist, but an angry Israeli because he wanted to lay down arms and take up peace ... Fanatics are defined by their hatreds; free people by their humanity. ~ William J. Clinton
Sadat quotes by William J. Clinton
You cannot control anything yet you can affect on everything. ~ Maliheh Sadat Razavi
Sadat quotes by Maliheh Sadat Razavi
Sadat provides an important, insistent voice for continued advancement in peace and social justice. ~ Jehan Sadat
Sadat quotes by Jehan Sadat
He who cannot change the very fabric of his thought will never be able to change reality. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
Never rely on your little knowledge and understanding. There are always some things that you don't know. ~ Maliheh Sadat Razavi
Sadat quotes by Maliheh Sadat Razavi
Let there be no more war or bloodshed between Arabs and Israelis. Let there be no more suffering or denial of rights. Let there be no more despair or loss of faith. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
He (Anwar Sadat) records that he was almost loathe to leave his prison cell because it was there that he realized that real success is success with self. It's not in having things, but in having mastery, having victory over self. ~ Stephen R. Covey
Sadat quotes by Stephen R. Covey
To love means to give, and to give means to build, while to hate is to destroy. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
If human values were relative, all laws-whether those based on revealed religions or those devised by man-would become meaningless. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
I believe that for peace a man may, even should, do everything in his power. Nothing in this world could rank higher than peace. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
Faith means that a man should regard any disaster simply as a fate-determined blow which must be endured. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
I've participated in many demonstrations since I was a child. When I was at medical college, I was fighting King Farouk, then British colonization, against Nasser, against Sadat who pushed me into prison, Mubarak who pushed me into exile. I never stopped. ~ Nawal El Saadawi
Sadat quotes by Nawal El Saadawi
There is no happiness for people at the expense of other people. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
When you feel discouraged or simply lazy, as is bound to happen sometimes, remember the millions of people in the world who have not had your privilege. Remember the poor and obscure lives of those countless millions who suffer from every sort of deprivation and frequently find themselves the unwilling victim of wars, and a variety of cruelties, perpetuated by man on man. Is it not significant that the first bid for self realization, among the poor and downtrodden, is to assert their right to education? ~ Jehan Sadat
Sadat quotes by Jehan Sadat
Anwar Sadat once said that if you see a good person with admirable qualities, try to adapt those qualities to yourself, and he was such a great man. ~ Harry Hamlin
Sadat quotes by Harry Hamlin
Shortly after Sisi was elected, his administration announced cuts of 'subsidies' on natural gas and energy consumption and lowered those for bread and other goods. Such action was taboo during the Mubarak and Sadat presidencies for over half a century, but Sisi was able to convince Egyptians he was taking necessary action. ~ Ahmed Zewail
Sadat quotes by Ahmed Zewail
I had known Mubarak and his wife, Suzanne, for nearly twenty years. He was a career Air Force officer who had risen through the ranks to become Vice President under Anwar Sadat, the Egyptian ruler who fought the Yom Kippur War with Israel in 1973 and later signed the Camp David Accords. Mubarak was injured in the extremist attack that assassinated Sadat in 1981, but he survived, became President, and cracked down hard on Islamists and other dissidents. He ruled Egypt like a pharaoh with nearly absolute power for the next three decades. ~ Hillary Rodham Clinton
Sadat quotes by Hillary Rodham Clinton
Only when he has ceased to need things can a man truly be his own master and so really exist. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
A lot of dudes can't function too long in mainstream life because they've been indoctrinated into that penal system where that shapes their life. ~ Sadat X
Sadat quotes by Sadat X
The only matter that could take Egypt to war again is water. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
Two places in this world make it impossible for a man to escape from himself: a battlefield and a prison cell. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
The violent secularism of al-Nasser had led Qutb to espouse a form of Islam that distorted both the message of the Quran and the Prophet's life. Qutb told Muslims to model themselves on Muhammad: to separate themselves from mainstream society (as Muhammad had made the hijrah from Mecca to Medina), and then engage in a violent jihad. But Muhammad had in fact finally achieved victory by an ingenious policy of non-violence; the Quran adamantly opposed force and coercion in religious matters, and its vision - far from preaching exclusion and separation - was tolerant and inclusive. Qutb insisted that the Quranic injunction to toleration could occur only after the political victory of Islam and the establishment of a true Muslim state. The new intransigence sprang from the profound fear that is at the core of fundamentalist religion. Qutb did not survive. At al-Nasser's personal insistence, he was executed in 1966.

Every Sunni fundamentalist movement has been influenced by Qutb. Most spectacularly it has inspired Muslims to assassinate such leaders as Anwar al-Sadat, denounced as a jahili ruler because of his oppressive policies towards his own people. The Taliban, who came to power in Afghanistan in 1994, are also affected by his ideology. ~ Karen Armstrong
Sadat quotes by Karen Armstrong
"Great suffering has a silver-lining that we can be grateful for, because it builds up a human being and puts him or her within reach of self-knowledge." ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
You may be the owner of my efforts results but you will never be able to be the owner of my mind. ~ Maliheh Sadat Razavi
Sadat quotes by Maliheh Sadat Razavi
Sadat made us feel more secure. ~ Naguib Mahfouz
Sadat quotes by Naguib Mahfouz
Out of this unstable mix of technocracy and national security you have a nostalgia developing for colonialism or religion - atavistic in my opinion, but some people want them back. Sadat is the great example of that: he threw out the Russians, as well as everything else that represented Abdel Nasser, ascendant nationalism, and so forth - and said, "Let the Americans come." Then you have a new period of what in Arabic is called an infitah - in other words, an opening of the country to a new imperialism: technocratic management, not production but services - tourism, hotels, banking, etc. That's where we are right now. ~ Edward W. Said
Sadat quotes by Edward W. Said
Rosalynn said, "Jimmy, if we could only get Prime Minister Begin and President Sadat up here on this mountain for a few days, I believe they might consider how they could prevent another war between their countries." That gave me the idea, and a few weeks later, I invited both men to join me for a series of private talks. In September 1978, they both came to Camp David. ~ Jimmy Carter
Sadat quotes by Jimmy Carter
The trouble is that we follow each other terribly. ~ Maliheh Sadat Razavi
Sadat quotes by Maliheh Sadat Razavi
Pain is the result of ignorance. ~ Maliheh Sadat Razavi
Sadat quotes by Maliheh Sadat Razavi
I was brought up to believe that how I saw myself was more important than how others saw me. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
If you don't have the power to change yourself, then nothing will change around you. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
Russians can give you arms but only the United States can give you a solution. ~ Anwar Sadat
Sadat quotes by Anwar Sadat
Don't forget that the peace treaties with Egypt and later with Jordan have already survived several tests: two wars with Lebanon, two Palestinian uprisings, the attack on Gaza, the murder of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat. ~ Tom Segev
Sadat quotes by Tom Segev
There's a million ways to live on this thing called a planet,
I'mma live everyday, I ain't takin' nothing for granted. ~ Sadat X
