We need a price on carbon that accurately reflects its real costs on our society and our wellbeing. ~ Katharine Hayhoe
Ryler Price quotes by Katharine Hayhoe
We both are a pejorative - liberals. Spartak, I believe an active and powerful government is the only counterbalance against rapacious business interests, unprincipled individuals and groups often all too willing to deceive, poison, and ruin in the name of their own liberty. Without us, the powerful face no limits, no scrutiny, pay no price and never face justice. My life's work is to return integrity and influence to the public sphere. I wear barronial scorn with pride." He shook his head. "Of course most people think I'm a fool."

U.S. Supreme Court Justice William O. Washington

Any commodity that sees its price going higher will see new mines opening up. When the supply increases, the prices soften. When prices fall, some mines with higher production costs will shut down as they become unviable. ~ Gautam Adani
Ryler Price quotes by Gautam Adani
By keeping the price of treatment drugs artificially high, and making sure that only those who can afford it have the opportunity of a cure, we're actually supporting the work that the Ministry of Epidemics does. I mean, look at Africa and our liaison with the Underworld there. ~ Liz Williams
Ryler Price quotes by Liz Williams
I am pride! Let the meek have their inheritance - I'd rather have eternity in shadows than divine bliss at the price you ask. ~ Mark Lawrence
Ryler Price quotes by Mark Lawrence
It may well be that we, spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able truly to see, articulate, and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it
and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence. ~ David Foster Wallace
Ryler Price quotes by David Foster Wallace
I don't need all that much - I just need to know who my characters are and what kind of jam they're going to get into, and I'll write myself out of their jam. ~ Richard Price
Ryler Price quotes by Richard Price
Capital, however capital may be defined, would practically cease to exist as an income producing fund, for the simple reason that if money, wherewith to buy capital, could be obtained for one-half of one per cent, capital itself could command no higher price. ~ John Buchanan Robinson
Ryler Price quotes by John Buchanan Robinson
The beatings didn't begin until the third week of the new relationship. Scotty didn't climb in bed with Angel until the forth week. ~ Charlie Price
Ryler Price quotes by Charlie Price
[Crisco] ain't just for frying. You ever get a sticky something stuck in your hair, like gum? ... That's right, Crisco. Spread this on a baby's bottom, you won't even know what diaper rash is ... shoot, I seen ladies rub it under they eyes and on they husband's scaly feet ... Clean the goo from a price tag, take the squeak out a door hinge. Lights get cut off, stick a wick in it and burn it like a candle ... And after all that, it'll still fry your chicken. ~ Kathryn Stockett
Ryler Price quotes by Kathryn Stockett
It is our view that stock-market timing cannot be done, with general success, unless the time to buy is related to an attractive price level, as measured by analytical standards. Similarly, ~ Benjamin Graham
Ryler Price quotes by Benjamin Graham
Prices too that day indicated the state of affairs. The price of weapons, of gold, of carts and horses, kept rising, but the value of paper money and city articles kept falling, so that by midday there were instances of carters removing valuable goods, such as cloth, and receiving in payment a half of what they carted, while peasant horses were fetching five hundred rubles each, and furniture, mirrors, and bronzes were being given away for nothing. ~ Leo Tolstoy
Ryler Price quotes by Leo Tolstoy
A dream is a kind of nocturnal drama to which the only price of admission is falling asleep. ~ Henry Gleitman
Ryler Price quotes by Henry Gleitman
Most of the things that make you angry are of very small consequence. And what a terrible price you are paying for your anger. ~ Gordon B. Hinckley
Ryler Price quotes by Gordon B. Hinckley
If the day ever comes when you're tempted to sell me out, remember this, Bronn - I'll match their price, whatever it is. I like living. ~ George R R Martin
Ryler Price quotes by George R R Martin
Failure is a big part of a free market's success. People fail to live up to their potential, or to carry out all their good intentions, in all kinds of economic and political systems. Capitalism makes them pay a price for their failures, while socialism, feudalism, fascism and other systems enable personal failures, especially by those at the top, to be ignored. ~ Thomas Sowell
Ryler Price quotes by Thomas Sowell
So, very soon our captives will meet their small countrywoman again. How grateful they must be to have a pleasant ride, with us to guide their way. Perhaps they feel that chains and sorrow are not too high a price to pay. What say you, Zanel? ~ Emily Rodda
Ryler Price quotes by Emily Rodda
No one who reads this book will remain unchanged or unaffected-Julene Bair's story arcs from the cornfields of Kansas and Nebraska to the food on our tables and the gas in our cars. There is always a price to be paid, she reminds us, for the pleasures and comforts of this day. If you read only one memoir this year, this is the one to read and pass along. ~ Jonis Agee
Ryler Price quotes by Jonis Agee
Of course there is sometimes a price to pay. While I was busy painting, not only was my light dissipating quickly, but the fog had crept in slowly at the same time. When I lifted my eyes from the panel, I realized that I had better get a move on - and quickly. ~ Cory Trepanier
Ryler Price quotes by Cory Trepanier
There are a lot of people who think celebrities shouldn't complain, that the photography is just a price to pay for having this career. I guess that's bizarre. What they don't understand is that this is all stuff that's really new. ~ Megan Fox
Ryler Price quotes by Megan Fox
The people who demand that the oracle predict for them really want to know next year's price on whalefur or something equally mundane. None of them wants an instant-by-instant prediction of his personal life. ~ Frank Herbert
Ryler Price quotes by Frank Herbert
Oil futures were originally created to give heating oil dealers, gas retailers, aviation companies and other businesses a method of hedging against adverse price changes. Instead, they've become just another Wall Street plaything. ~ Gary Weiss
Ryler Price quotes by Gary Weiss
Beat him, eat him and get out. ~ Richard Price
Ryler Price quotes by Richard Price
Ivy Huxford kept peeking out and giving reports of who was there, and how she never saw so many seats filled in the Palace, and that she didn't think they could squeeze a rattlesnake into the back even if he paid full price, the place was so packed. ~ Karen Hesse
Ryler Price quotes by Karen Hesse
You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart always will be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place. ~ Miriam Adeney
Ryler Price quotes by Miriam Adeney
Fast food may appear to be cheap food and, in the literal sense it often is, but that is because huge social and environmental costs are being excluded from the calculations. Any analysis of the real cost would have to look at such things as the rise in food-borne illnesses, the advent of new pathogens, antibiotic resistance from the overuse of drugs in animal feed, extensive water pollution from intensive agricultural systems and many other factors. These costs are not reflected in the price of fast food. ~ Prince Charles
Ryler Price quotes by Prince Charles

Ryler Price quotes by Alan Price
It is a trial within a nation but a trial of victors against the vanquished. Even before the trials started, the victors who are our judges were quite convinced that we were guilty and that we should all pay the price. ~ Julius Streicher
Ryler Price quotes by Julius Streicher
break the rules pay the price ~ Brandon Mull
Ryler Price quotes by Brandon Mull
At the very same time that we witnessed the explosion of white celebrity moms, and the outpouring of advice to a surveillance of middle-class mothers, the welfare mother, trapped in a "cycle of dependency," became ubiquitous in our media landscape, and she came to represent everything wrong with America. She appeared not in the glossy pages of the women's magazines but rather as the subject of news stories about the "crisis" in the American family and the newly declared "war" on welfare mothers. Whatever ailed America--drugs, crime, loss of productivity--was supposedly her fault. She was portrayed as thumbing her nose at intensive mothering. Even worse, she was depicted as bringing her kids into the realm of market values, as putting a price on their heads, by allegedly calculating how much each additional child was worth and then getting pregnant to cash in on them. For middle-class white women in the media, by contrast, their kids were priceless, these media depictions reinforced the divisions between "us" (minivan moms) and "them" (welfare mothers, working-class mothers, teenage mothers), and did so especially along the lines of race. For example, one of the most common sentences used to characterize the welfare mother was, "Tanya, who has_____ children by ______ different men" (you fill in the blanks). Like zoo animals, their lives were reduced to the numbers of successful impregnations by multiple partners. So it's interesting to note that someone like Christie Brinkley, ~ Susan J. Douglas
Ryler Price quotes by Susan J. Douglas
The science of fermentation is wonderfully simple. Yeast eat sugar. They leave behind two waste products, ethyl alcohol and carbon dioxide. If we were being honest, we would admit that what a liquor store sells is, chemically speaking, little more than the litter boxes of millions of domesticated yeast organisms, wrapped up in pretty bottles with fancy price tags. ~ Amy Stewart
