Worry is a cycle of inefficient thoughts whirling around a center of fear. ~ Corrie Ten Boom
Worry Fear quotes by Corrie Ten Boom
How do I find joy in my homeschool journey?
The answer is quite simple. I accept lots of God's grace. Grace to make mistakes. Grace to take a nap when I am exhausted. Grace to not feel guilty. Without His abundant provision of grace, I would be depleted, discouraged, and dissatisfied. Instead, I place all my trust in His direction and I embrace my calling as a homeschool mom. His grace has set me free from worry, fear, doubt, and guilt and I am overflowing with joy. Praise God! ~ Tamara L. Chilver
Worry Fear quotes by Tamara L. Chilver
No man is free who cannot control himself. ~ Pythagoras
Worry Fear quotes by Pythagoras
It's not just what you eat that matters, it's what eats you. You can have all the right macrobiotics and organic food, but if your body is filled with resentment, worry, fear, lust, guilt, anger, bitterness, or any other emotional disease, it's going to shorten your life. ~ Rick Warren
Worry Fear quotes by Rick Warren
Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust. ~ Samuel Ullman
Worry Fear quotes by Samuel Ullman
Some find it hard to write emotively. I've had some people say to me that they simply cannot. There are two ways to try and achieve it, to either draw upon your own lives experiences or pushing your imagination into those circumstances and feeling how your heart reacts.
When I write emotively much of it comes from my own experiences and thoughts. But for some things it is not because I have experienced every emotion in my short life time already. It means I am able to imagine in my mind a given situation and feel how my heart reacts to those thoughts. Forcing myself deep into the moment of fantasy and not fearing how I feel. Some writers rely on this skill, not picturing it in their mind they are feeling it as though with their own heart even though the situation is not one they have found themselves to have been in. I believe I struggle with this, I challenge myself in some of my stories and writing that I do but I find myself favouring writing about what I know, what I have felt in my own life, love being most favoured but also excitement, worry, fear and of course sorrow. Many people will be happy to write about joy and happiness but would never write of their fears and weaknesses, feeling that for others to see you so exposed in a raw state of emotion adds to the agony of the original event you are writing about. Especially those who want to be seen as strong all the time, they worry that so show any emotion other than strength of positivity is weakness. This façade ~ Raven Lockwood
Worry Fear quotes by Raven Lockwood
Fear is static that prevents me from hearing myself. ~ Samuel Butler
Worry Fear quotes by Samuel Butler
All things multiply themselves. Worry multiplies reasons to worry. Fear multiplies things to be fearful of. Hate multiplies feelings of hate. Gratitude multiplies things to grateful for. Faith multiplies proof of faithfulness. Love multiplies circumstances that facilitate love. ~ Hendrith Vanlon Smith Jr
Worry Fear quotes by Hendrith Vanlon Smith Jr
I have often thought it would be a blessing if each human being were stricken blind and deaf for a few days during their early adult life. Darkness would make them more appreciative of sight; silence would teach them the joys of sound. ~ Helen Keller
Worry Fear quotes by Helen Keller
You may think that you are well, but you will not secure health until you think thoughts that produce health. You may persistently affirm that you are well, but so long as you live in discord, confusion, worry, fear and other wrong states of mind, you will be sick; that is, you will be as you think and not what you think you are. You may state health in your thought, but if you give worry, fear and discord to that thought, your thinking will produce discord. It is not what we state in our thoughts, but what we give to our thoughts that determine results. ~ Christian D. Larson
Worry Fear quotes by Christian D. Larson
There is nothing that wastes the body like worry, and one who has any faith in God should be ashamed to worry about anything whatsoever. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Worry Fear quotes by Mahatma Gandhi
You may feel burdened by worry, fear, or doubt. To you and to all of us, I repeat a wonderful and certain truth: #God's light is real. It has the power to soften the sting of the deepest wound. It can illuminate the path before us and lead us through the darkest night into the promise of a new dawn. ~ Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Worry Fear quotes by Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Worry, fear, doom, and gloom are all an absolute waste of energy ' ~ Ramie ~ Tim Bauerschmidt
Worry Fear quotes by Tim Bauerschmidt
If you look into your own heart, and you find nothing wrong there, what is there to worry about? What is there to fear? ~ Confucius
Worry Fear quotes by Confucius
Remember: worry, fear, and negative thoughts produce a yield from those thoughts that have to be inevitably reaped after they have been sown! ~ Stephen Richards
Worry Fear quotes by Stephen Richards
People get so in the habit of worry that if you save them from drowning and put them on a bank to dry in the sun with hot chocolate and muffins they wonder whether they are catching cold. ~ John Jay Chapman
Worry Fear quotes by John Jay Chapman
It had always been the laughter that needled through me, a repeated stitch that surfaced over and over again.....Laughter reveals in the same way a sigh or a glance does. It's an unintentional language. Worry, fear, deceit - they hide in the things unsaid. ~ Mary E. Pearson
Worry Fear quotes by Mary E. Pearson
My life has been full of terrible misfortunes most of which never happened. ~ Michel De Montaigne
Worry Fear quotes by Michel De Montaigne
Begin to rejoice in the Lord, and your bones will flourish like an herb, and your cheeks will glow with the bloom of health and freshness. Worry, fear, distrust, care-all are poisonous! Joy is balm and healing, and if you will but rejoice, God will give power. ~ A.B. Simpson
Worry Fear quotes by A.B. Simpson
...fear is not a thing to be controlled by logic. ~ Laura Sebastian
Worry Fear quotes by Laura Sebastian
Perhaps we don't like what we see: our hips, our loss of hair, our shoe size, our dimples, our knuckles too big, our eating habits, our disposition. We have disclosed these things in secret, likes and dislikes, behind doors with locks, our lonely rooms, our messy desks, our empty hearts, our sudden bursts of energy, our sudden bouts of depression. Don't worry. Put away your mirrors and your beauty magazines and your books on tape. There is someone right here who knows you more than you do, who is making room on the couch, who is fixing a meal, who is putting on your favorite record, who is listening intently to what you have to say, who is standing there with you, face to face, hand to hand, eye to eye, mouth to mouth. There is no space left uncovered. This is where you belong. ~ Sufjan Stevens
Worry Fear quotes by Sufjan Stevens
I have only one reader - me. I'm the average reader. If I like it, that's all I worry about. ~ Judith Krantz
Worry Fear quotes by Judith Krantz
Without ending sorrow there is no love. Sorrow is part of your self-interest, part of your egotistic, self-centred activity. You cry for another, for your son, for your brother, for your mother. Why? Because you have lost something that you are attached to, something which gave you companionship, comfort, and all the rest of it. With the ending of that person, you realize how utterly empty, how lonely your life is. Then you cry. And there are many, many people ready to comfort you, and you slip very easily into that network, that trap, of comfort.

There is the comfort in God, which is an image put together by thought, or comfort in some illusory concept or idea. And that's all you want. But you never question the very urge, the desire for comfort, never ask whether there is any comfort at all. One needs to have a comfortable bed or chair - that's all right. But you never ask whether there is any comfort at all psychologically, inwardly. Is it an illusion which has become your truth? You understand? An illusion can become your truth - the illusion that you are God, that there is God. That God has been created by thought, by fear. If you had no fear, there would be no God.

So this is a very complex problem of our life - why we are so shallow, empty, filled with other people's knowledge and with books; why we are not independent, free human beings to find out; why we are slaves. This is not a rhetorical question; it is a question each one of us must as ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
Worry Fear quotes by Jiddu Krishnamurti
They tell me that it will be hard to find a man strong enough to love my own strength and independence, and not worry about being Mr. Diana Ross, but I disagree. I know absolutely that that man is somewhere out there. ~ Diana Ross
Worry Fear quotes by Diana Ross
We do not go to cowards for tender dealing; there is nothing so cruel as panic; the man who has least fear for his own carcase, has most time to consider others. ~ Robert Louis Stevenson
Worry Fear quotes by Robert Louis Stevenson
I think the only fear that I have in getting married is what if I'm not enough or what if I'm not prepared enough, because I'm the kind of person that likes to be prepared. ~ Rebecca St. James
Worry Fear quotes by Rebecca St. James
When I was a child and they burned me out of my home, I was frightened and I ran away. Eventually I ran far away. It was to a place called France. Many of you have been there, and many have not. But I must tell you, ladies and gentlemen, in that country I never feared. It was like a fairyland place. ~ Josephine Baker
Worry Fear quotes by Josephine Baker
Worry is a dividend paid to disaster before it is due. ~ Ian Fleming
Worry Fear quotes by Ian Fleming
I don't have a fear of aging or a fear of death. ~ S. Jay Olshansky
Worry Fear quotes by S. Jay Olshansky
I'd prefer 'be strong' than 'don't worry'. ~ Toba Beta
Worry Fear quotes by Toba Beta
Accurate enough to make the shots you need to make, Franz?' Otto asked.

'Yes, they are being very nice,' Franz said, nodding happily. 'Do not worry, my lack of accuracy on the range was due to the compensating for increased muzzle velocity.'

'Right,' Otto said, not bothering to point out that if they had been keeping a tally his shots would have outscored all the rest of them put together. ~ Mark Walden
Worry Fear quotes by Mark Walden
But it isn't only the terror everywhere, and the fear of being conscious of it, that freezes people. It's more than that. People know they are in a society dead or dying. They are refusing emotion because at the end of every emotion are property, money, power. They work and despise their work, and so freeze themselves. They love but know that it's a half-love or a twisted love, and so they freeze themselves.
It is possible that in order to keep love, feeling, tenderness alive, it will be necessary to feel these emotions ambiguously, even for what is false and debased, or for what is still an idea, a shadow in the willed imagination only ... or if what we feel is pain, then we must feel it, acknowledging that the alternative is death. Better anything than the shrewd, the calculated, the non-committal, the refusal of giving for fear of the consequences ... ~ Doris Lessing
Worry Fear quotes by Doris Lessing
Don't matter if you was or wasn't. All they gotta so is say you was. That's all they gotta do. You think cuz you all big and muscled up, you safe? Naw, dem white folks can't stand the sight of you. Walkin' round free as can be. Don't nobody want to see a black man look like you walkin' proud as a peacock. Like you ain't got a lick of fear in you ~ Yaa Gyasi
Worry Fear quotes by Yaa Gyasi
African women in general need to know that it's OK for them to be the way they are - to see the way they are as a strength, and to be liberated from fear and from silence. ~ Wangari Maathai
Worry Fear quotes by Wangari Maathai
Governments are composed of human beings, and all of the frailties that humans possess are absorbed into these governments and become active within these governments. Hatred, anger, jealousy, fear, greed, distrust and the whole host of afflictions that humans must bear, lurk just beneath the surface of civility displayed by 'government.' ~ John McAfee
Worry Fear quotes by John McAfee
It was wonderful to walk down the long flights of stairs knowing that I'd had good luck working. I always worked until I had something done and I always stopped when I knew what was going to happen next. That way I could be sure of going on the next day. But sometimes when I was starting a new story and I could not get it going, I would sit in front of the fire and squeeze the peel of the little oranges into the edge of the flame and watch the sputter of blue that they made. I would stand and look out over the roofs of Paris and think, "Do not worry. You have always written before and you will write now. All you have to do is write one true sentence. Write the truest sentence that you know." So finally I would write one true sentence, and then go on from there. It was easy then because there was always one true sentence that you knew or had seen or had heard someone say. ~ Ernest Hemingway,
Worry Fear quotes by Ernest Hemingway,
Still, as Logen Ninefingers had been so very fond of saying: it was better to do it, than to live with the fear of it. He picked up his dress sword, but after a minute ~ Joe Abercrombie
Worry Fear quotes by Joe Abercrombie
The fear of climatic catastrophes is an ancient one and not unlike our fear of strangers. In the past, people believed that the climate almost always changes for the worse, and only rarely for the better - God's punishment for sinful behavior. ~ Hans Von Storch
Worry Fear quotes by Hans Von Storch
There is no need to fear the strong. All one needs is to know the method of overcoming them. There is a special jujitsu for every strong man. ~ Yevgeny Yevtushenko
Worry Fear quotes by Yevgeny Yevtushenko
In my head this cruel unspeakable truth: that we battled and we cursed and we spilled each other's blood, we relished our taste of hell and strangled heaven's love. ~ Aberjhani
Worry Fear quotes by Aberjhani
Miss Wigglesworth gave him an assessing look out of her remarkable blue eyes.
"You're a libertine? How very unique."
She gave a small fake yawn. She was, in that heartbeat, so perfect and so pure and so very dangerous indeed that all he could do was frighten her away.
"Have you been listening at keyholes, Lazuli? I assure you, they have always been willing, even when I ask that they pretend otherwise."
She blushed deep pink at that – an appealing thing, the blood high under her cheeks, warm and subtle and alive. He wanted to delve into her, with teeth and body until she was ravaged and supine and wrecked and bleeding and his. She did not, as he had expected, break away from him mid-step. The blush was there, to be sure, but she was made of sterner stuff. Any true innocent would be repulsed by the intent in his tone. A woman without experience would fear the implication of his preferences – the certain acknowledgment that there was wolf, nothing but wolf, underneath all his icy indifference. Faith was intrigued. She tilted her head and looked hard at him, her lovely eyes flinty.
"So, you're just a beast who enjoys the chase, nothing else?"
"Exactly so."
She threw it all at him. Like a piece of warm fresh meat, cut and dripping temptation, enough to make him salivate, to bait her trap.
"You can't catch me."
The waltz ended. ~ Gail Carriger
Worry Fear quotes by Gail Carriger
There will be no true freedom without virtue, no true science without religion, no true industry without the fear of God and love to your fellow citizens. ~ Charles Kingsley
Worry Fear quotes by Charles Kingsley
Don't ever take for granted when people look in your eyes; you have no idea how important it is to be acknowledged. Even if it's an angry stare, because it's when they ignore you, when they look right through you, that you should start worrying. ~ Cecelia Ahern
Worry Fear quotes by Cecelia Ahern
Fear was absolutely necessary. Without it, I would have been scared to death. ~ Floyd Patterson
Worry Fear quotes by Floyd Patterson
If we keep holding on to God, there is nothing to fear. ~ Mata Amritanandamayi
Worry Fear quotes by Mata Amritanandamayi
Sometimes, we have to face our greatest fear to realize it wasn't really a fear after all - just a small hole we needed to step around. ~ Kelly Elliott
Worry Fear quotes by Kelly Elliott
At the inception of this writing project, I considered the wisdom of executing a purposeful slaughtering of my egotistical self. If I do screw up the temerity to commence with an autopsy of a soulful self, I might lack the fortitude to stay the course to dissect the nature of my being. Without deep-seated faith, I risk faltering at the operating table and never rising again. Will I suffer from a desertion of boldness? Alternatively, will a stunning lack of talent and criminal absence of cognitive insight, perception, and discernment along with a paucity of intellectual and practical acumen betray me when I attempt to whisk up incomplete mental fragments previously abandoned to simmer in the deepest recesses of my animalistic being? Overwrought by a hovering sense of terror concerning what filthy rubbish I might discover lurking within the hallways of my afflicted soul, I am hesitant to descend into the labyrinth of the unknown. I might not endure to write about what fate awaits me when I attempt to harpoon protean personal thoughts steeped in fear and disgust. ~ Kilroy J. Oldster
Worry Fear quotes by Kilroy J. Oldster
It is untrue
that bravery can be measured
by a lack of fear.
It takes guts to tremble.
It takes tremble to love. ~ Andrea Gibson
Worry Fear quotes by Andrea Gibson
Many of us find it hard to set boundaries and defend them because we fear doing so will cause rejection or abandonment. We may avoid confrontations to make things easier. We may feel guilt if we say no or if we think we might hurt someone's feelings. We fear boundaries will keep us from being loved. ~ Adelyn Birch
Worry Fear quotes by Adelyn Birch
She said fear is just a flashlight that helps you find your courage. ~ Natalie Lloyd
Worry Fear quotes by Natalie Lloyd
I'm trying to find something wrong with you so that I don't want you so much. ~ Kate McGahan
Worry Fear quotes by Kate McGahan
Totalitarian regimes justify their existence by means of a philosophy of political monism, according to which the state is God on earth, unification under the heel of the divine state is salvation, and all means to such unification, however intrinsically wicked, are right and may be used without scruple. This political monism leads in practice to excessive privilege and power for the few and oppression for the many, to discontent at home and war abroad. But excessive privilege and power are standing trmptations to pride, greed, vanity and cruelty; oppression results in fear and envy; war breeds hatred, misery and despair. All such negative emotions are fatal to the spiritual life. Only the pure in heart and poor in spirit can come to the Knowledge of God. Hence, the attempt to impose more unity upon societies then their individual members are ready for makes it psychologically almost impossible for those individuals to realize they are unity with the divine Ground [of being] and with one another. ~ Aldous Huxley
Worry Fear quotes by Aldous Huxley
Be not scared to sail into the storm, every storm reveals the jewels of life. Be not scared to walk into the dark, your footsteps are the very light the dark is afraid of. ~ Abhijit Naskar
Worry Fear quotes by Abhijit Naskar
The assumption is that if I expend myself for myself in the end all I'll be left with is myself, and that alone is frightening. But what I've failed to consider is that I have to expend so much of myself living for myself that in the end I'm really left with very little of myself, and that is unimaginably frightening. ~ Craig D. Lounsbrough
