On our second date, I picked up Missy at her house and told her we had to make a pit stop to pick up crawfish bait at the fish market. We'd figured out a way to speed up the process by using the fish market's gutbuckets instead of running nets ourselves. Through trial and error, we determined that the best crawfish bait was buffalo-fish heads. Unfortunately, when I pulled up to the market to get the garbage cans full of fish heads, I realized they had been outside for a couple of days. It was a warm day, and I could tell from the buzzing of hundreds of flies it was going to be nasty! I knew it was going to be the ultimate test of our relationship. The tubs were too heavy for one man to carry, so I told Missy, "I'm going to need your help on this." She crawled out the window, and I led her to the trash cans filled with buffalo heads waiting for us. Like an idiot, the first thing she did was open the lid of a trash can. Immediately, she started gagging and dry-heaving in the parking lot.
"Rule number two," I said. "Never pop the lid on a trash can."
Much to my surprise, Missy regained her composure and helped me load the trash cans into the back of my truck. Right then, I realized our relationship might work out. She was climbing through windows and hauling fish heads. ~ Jase Robertson
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Jase Robertson
As Harry Potter was the only other thing I was passionate about, the doctors gave consent for me to leave the hospital and collect the fifth Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, from the local book shop. I was so ecstatic to have the book and excited to begin reading it, but there was never any hint of your imminent arrival and the way you would change my life so drastically. Luna, you instantly captivated me. I didn't know why but there was something about you with your upside-down magazine, straggly blonde hair, and the honest, abashed way you stared at people without blinking that fascinated and perplexed me at once. You laughed hysterically at one of Ron's quips and didn't stop to excuse yourself and feel ashamed when it became clear that everyone found you strange. Throughout the book, I found myself waiting for your brief appearances and wanting to know more about you and why you were the way you were. You baffled me, not because you were odd (though indeed you were), but because you were… perfect. But it was a different kind of perfect to the perfectly thin, smiling magazine girls I simultaneously idolised and reviled. It was the way you carried your oddness like it was the most natural thing in the world. You didn't market your oddness as your defining feature the way some insecure teenagers do, in guise of confidence and security. And nor were you oblivious to the awkward and uncomfortable feelings your oddness provoked in others. When, unabl ~ Evanna Lynch
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Evanna Lynch
I spent a lifetime giving my power away, assuming that everybody knew better what was right for me than me. And then there comes a point in your life you go, Oh, wait a second! There's an a-ha moment when you realize that the only person that can delegate your future is you. ~ Mariel Hemingway
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Mariel Hemingway
In their world good manners and good sense prevail.
They don't imagine that to choose sensibly is to set a time-bomb under yourself.

They don't imagine you are ripe for the cutting, waiting for your chance at life.

They don't think of the wreckage an exploding life will cause… Settle down, feet under the table. She's a nice girl, he's a nice boy.

It's the clichés that cause the trouble. ~ Jeanette Winterson
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Jeanette Winterson
It takes time and a lot of looking around, but you eventually find that your home is a lot more than just the house you live in. Brás had all the time in the world to figure that out. He discovered your country can be your home, or a city, or just that particular neighborhood. Sometimes your life changes--you change--and your home moves to a different place. Brás realized that home is not a physical place at all, but a group of elements like the people you live with--a feeling, a state of mind. He feels safer just knowing that even if he's away... there is a home... waiting for him to return. It's where he can rest. Where he finds peace. ~ Fabio Moon
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Fabio Moon
Well," she finally said, "he's coming back shortly, so you are absolved of your responsibilities."

"No." The word came from him like an oath, emerging from the very core of his being.

She looked at him in impatient confusion. "What do you mean?"

He stepped forward. He wasn't sure what he was doing. He knew only that he couldn't stop. "I mean no. I don't want to be absolved."

Her lips parted. He took another step. His heart was pounding, and something within him had gone hot, and greedy, and if there was anything in the world besides her, besides him - he did not know it.

"I want you," he said, the words blunt, and almost harsh, but absolutely, indelibly true.

"I want you," he said again, and he reached out and took her hand. "I want you."

"Marcus, I - "

"I want to kiss you," he said, and he touched one finger to her lips. "I want to hold you."

And then, because he couldn't have kept it inside for one second longer, he said, "I burn for you."

He took her face in his hands and he kissed her. He kissed her with everything that had been building within him, every last aching, hungry burst of desire. Since the moment he had realized he loved her, this passion had been growing within him. It had probably been there all along, just waiting for him to realize it.

He loved her. ~ Julia Quinn
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Julia Quinn
She wondered which was worse - living your whole life staring at yourself or waiting your whole life for someone to stare back at you. ~ Angela Lam Turpin
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Angela Lam Turpin
An FBI agent, huh?" Trish's expression turned sly. "Is he foxy?"
"That whole story, about the strange coincidence, and my glorious Speech of Many Insults, and the fact that I'm going to be stuck running into this dude forever, and that's your first question? 'Is he foxy?'" Sidney shook her head. "Trishelle..on behalf of womankind, I was expecting a more enlightened discourse."
Trish simply waited.
"Totally foxy," Sidney said. "When he walked up to my table, my first thought was Criminy. Unfortunately, then he spoke."
Trish threw her arm around Sidney. "Somewhere out there, waiting for you, is the total package. A Criminy guy who's just looking for his Ms. Right to settle down with. ~ Julie James
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Julie James
The stories we read in books, what's presented to us as being interesting - they have very little to do with real life as it's lived today. I'm not talking about straight-up escapism, your vampires, serial killers, codes hidden in paintings, and so on. I mean so-called serious literature. A boy goes hunting with his emotionally volatile father, a bereaved woman befriends an asylum seeker, a composer with a rare neurological disorder walks around New York, thinking about the nature of art. People looking back over their lives, people having revelations, people discovering meaning. Meaning, that's the big thing. The way these books have it, you trip over a rock you'll find some hidden meaning waiting there. Everyone's constantly on the verge of some soul-shaking transformation. And it's - if you'll forgive my language - it's bullshit. Modern people live in a state of distraction. They go from one distraction to the next, and that's how they like it. They don't transform, they don't stop to smell the roses, they don't sit around recollecting long passages of their childhood - Jesus, I can hardly remember what I was doing two days ago. My point is, people aren't waiting to be restored to some ineffable moment. They're not looking for meaning. That whole idea of the novel - that's finished. ~ Paul Murray
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Paul Murray
Sometimes, writing songs is like waiting in for deliveries. They give you a window, and your washing machine is going to show up, whether the window is the album or something you're thinking, like, 'This thing is going to come to me.' ~ Alex Turner
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Alex Turner
When Diana returned to work on Monday, September 16, she came directly to my bedroom and announced, "Mrs. Robertson, I have something important to tell you." I could see out of the corner of my eye that she had a slight, mischievous grin on her face.
"Go right ahead," I said as I continued to blow-dry my hair in front of the mirror above the dresser.
"No, Mrs. Robertson, I'd like your full attention." I switched off my hair dryer and faced her as she stood in the doorway. "When you leave for work this morning, you'll notice a lot of reporters and photographers at the entrance to the mews."
I wondered aloud if the press were following either Lord Vestey, a notorious international financier, or John Browne, a bright young M.P. known as one of "Maggie's boys," both of whom lived on our small street.
"No, actually, Mrs. Robertson, they're waiting for me," Diana said with a great deal of blushing, staring at the floor, and throat clearing.
"Good heavens, Diana, why?"
"Well . . . I spent last weekend at Balmoral."
"With Prince Andrew?" I asked, remembering my friend Lee's comment on the way to Glyndebourne.
"No, actually, I was there to see Prince Charles." More blushes and throat clearing, quickly followed by her disclaimer, "But he didn't invite me. His mother did." Hearing Diana speak of Her Majesty the Queen as "his mother" certainly gave me a clear picture of the circles in which Diana moved.
I gasped and asked, probably rather tact ~ Mary Robertson
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Mary Robertson
The opportunity of a lifetime is to pick yourself. Quit waiting to get picked; quit waiting for someone to give you permission; quit waiting for someone to say you are officially qualified and pick yourself. It doesn't mean you have to be an entrepreneur or a freelancer, but it does mean you stand up and say, "I have something to say. I know how to do something. I'm doing it. If you want me to do it with you, raise your hand. ~ Jennifer Sneeden
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Jennifer Sneeden
Do you really know the living Jesus - not from books but from being with Him in your heart? Have you heard the loving words He speaks to you? ... The devil may try to use the hurts of life, and sometimes our own mistakes - to make you feel it is impossible that Jesus really loves you, is really cleaving to you. This is a danger for all of us. And so sad, because it is completely the opposite of what Jesus is really wanting, waiting to tell you. Not only that He loves you, but even more - He longs for you. ~ Mother Teresa
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Mother Teresa
I'd have much rather gotten dragged into someone else's fight than face what was waiting for me. Other people's emotional pain, no matter how painful, is so much less painful than your own. ~ Laurell K. Hamilton
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Laurell K. Hamilton
It eats me up inside that I missed so much of your life. Eats me up that I didn't realize who you were to me when we were kids. I've been waiting to find you – or, as it seems, to get you back – for so fucking long…I'm not going to give you up. ~ Suzanne Wright
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Suzanne Wright
Sometimes, the Lord may keep you waiting for His supplies that you may enjoy them all the better when they do come. He never is before His time, but He never is behind His time, though He may be behind your time. God will provide. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Charles Haddon Spurgeon
Spill-what's the deal with Hottie McDreamMan?"
"Sage?" I laughed.
"No, I mean Minister Sanders." She threw a pillow at me. "Of course I mean Sage! He's the one, right? The guy from your dreams. Oh my God-he's real and he's hot! Does he kiss as well in real life as he did in your dreams?"
"I wouldn't know," I admitted. "We haven't kissed."
"What are you waiting for?"
"So the whole randomly-popping-up-in-pictures thing doesn't bother you?"
"Nope."
"The whole strange-cultists-chasing-after-him? That doesn't bother you either?"
"Nobody's perfect, Clea."
"How about if I told you he might be a serial killer? Would that bother you?"
"Debatable. Elaborate."
I told her about the nightmares and about what I'd seen in his house. As I unrolled the story, her expression went from flip and giddy to openmouthed and riveted.
"Oh my God, Clea."
"Crazy, right? And I still have no idea how he got into all those pictures."
"That part's easy."
"Really?"
"Of course," she said. "You're soulmates.
"Rayna…"
"Fine, I know, you don't like that word. But you can't possibly deny that you have a deep, powerful soul connection. By definition you have that. You said yourself, he found you in four different countries and four different times. Out of all the people in the world at any given time, he found you. The only possible way he could have done that is if your souls were connected. He's a soul-seeking missile."
Hilary Duff
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Hilary Duff
Dearest - my body is simply crazy with wanting you - If you don't come tomorrow - I don't see how I can wait for you - I wonder if your body wants mine the way mine wants yours - the kisses - the hotness - the wetness - all melting together - the being held so tight that it hurts - the strangle and the struggle. ~ Georgia O'Keeffe
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Georgia O'Keeffe
Instead of negotiating or begging for mercy, [my brother Damascene] challenged them to kill him. "Go ahead," he said. "What are you waiting for? Today is my day to go to God. I can feel Him all around us. He is watching, waiting to take me home. Go ahead
finish your work and send me to paradise. I pity you for killing people like it's some kind of child's game. Murder is no game: If you offend God, you will pay for your fun. The blood of the innocent people you cut down will follow you to your reckoning. But I am praying for you ... I pray that you see the evil you're doing and ask God's forgiveness before it's too late. ~ Immaculee Ilibagiza
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Immaculee Ilibagiza
[One way of going about liberation] is the political way, changing the laws and fighting for equalities. There are so many ways of doing it. But the other I stress simply because it is the one I know: the psychological way, which is the removal of obstacles so that you can create your own freedom and you don't have to ask for it. You don't have to wait for it to be given to you. And the women I chose as my heroines were women who created their own freedom. They didn't demand it, they didn't ask for it. They created it. Something in themselves made them independent women, and this kind of independence I stress. […] It is very easy to blame society or to blame the man, but it actually makes you feel even more helpless. Because that means that you are waiting for the man to liberate you or for the government to liberate you or for history. And that takes a long time. It takes centuries, and it's too slow for me. ~ Anais Nin
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Anais Nin
The world's been waiting for your genius a long time. ~ Elizabeth Acevedo
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Elizabeth Acevedo
The window rattles without you, you bastard. The trees are the cause, rattling in the wind, you jerk, the wind scraping those leaves and twigs against my window. They'll keep doing this, you terrible husband, and slowly wear away our entire apartment building. I know all these facts about you and there is no longer any use for them. What will I do with your license plate number, and where you hid the key outside so we'd never get locked out of this shaky building? What good does it do me, your pants size and the blue cheese preference for dressing? Who opens the door in the morning now, and takes the newspaper out of the plastic bag when it rains? I'll never get back all the hours I was nice to your parents. I nudge my cherry tomatoes to the side of the plate, bastard, but no one is waiting there with a fork to eat them. I miss you and I love you, bastard bastard bastard, come and clean the onion skins out of the crisper and trim back the tree so I can sleep at night. ~ Daniel Handler
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Daniel Handler
Living in the moment" all the time may not be practical if one lives for many years. Planning for the future confers benefits, especially financially. What may be good for a twenty-year plan might not be best for five years. It causes incredible tension . . . the uncertainty just becomes a part of your life. But it is tiring. I've thought, "I wish I could just get sick." I just didn't have the energy to keep living, waiting to get sick. It takes energy to be optimistic: I run out of steam. ~ Robert Klitzman
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Robert Klitzman
Good actions bring good results, bad
actions bring bad results. Don't expect the gods to do thing for you, or the angles and guardian deities to protect you, or the auspicious days to help you. These things aren't true. Don't believe in them. If you believe in them, you will suffer. You will always be waiting for the right day, the right month, the right year, the angels, or the guardian deities. You'll only suffer that way. Look into your own actions and speech, into your kamma. Doing good, you inherit good- ness, doing bad you inherit badness. ~ Ajahn Chach
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Ajahn Chach
You know, having a panic attack feels like you're
collapsing, like your organs are rebelling against
you, and that you'd throw them up. It's like
you're on a swing ride in an amusement park. At
first, you're there waiting for things to happen,
and for gravity to mess up with you. After a while
of waiting, it starts working, and slowly you're
reaching a frightening height. And it's not like you
have phobia, but you certainly feel things as your
chest starts tightening, you think it'd explode.
Then, it's swinging and you just want to scream
or jump or whatever, but you can't do that.
You're tied and scared and there is no way you'd
reach a solid ground. ~ Nesrine BENAHMED
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Nesrine BENAHMED
There are enough people waiting to crap in your cereal without you doing it for them. ~ Meredith Russo
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Meredith Russo
You are it! You are the one you've been waiting for...be clear about your intentions and the universe will meet you wherever you are... ~ Bev Baker
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Bev Baker
If you follow your bliss you will find a path laid out before you that has been waiting for you all along and you will begin to live the life you ought to be living. ~ Joseph Campbell
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Joseph Campbell
A day is a pocket of possibility and it's always there, waiting for your willing hand. ~ Ann Voskamp
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Ann Voskamp
Dear God, I know I am a sinner. Forgive me and pardon me for waiting so long. I receive your love and salvation and ask you to live your life through me. I accept you as my Savior and resolve to live for you until you come again. ~ Tim LaHaye
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by Tim LaHaye
You think I'm a fool," I noted. "That I shouldn't wait for him." She shook her head, eyes widening like I'd misunderstood her. "I didn't say that. Only you can say if it's worth it to wait. I'll tell you one thing I learned the hard way, though. You can't unlove someone just because you want to. Trust me on this. So if you love him, really love him, then of course it's worth waiting." "Even years?" "Even your whole life. What's the other option? ~ R.K. Lilley
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by R.K. Lilley
Sometimes you just need to know when a fight is best saved for another day when the odds are more in your favour. ~ A.J. Darkholme
Waiting For Your Marine quotes by A.J. Darkholme
I don't have any idea what to wear anymore, so I tried to cover all bases."
"Try skin."
"Little chilly for that."
We looked at each other across the coffee table.
His eyes didn't say, I'd heat you up, and mine didn't say What are you waiting for? He didn't reply, Fuck if I'm making the first move, so I was careful not to say, I wish you would, because I can't, because I'm ... and he didn't snap ... choking on your pride?!
"As if you aren't."
"Excuse me?"
"Really Barrons," I said drily. "I'm not the only one who didn't just not have that conversation, and you know it."
There was the faint, sexy lift of his lip. "You're a piece of work, Ms. Lane."
"Right back at you. ~ Karen Marie Moning
