Just be with me. Please. We don't have much time left. And I have the strongest feeling that having part of you is going to be better than having all of anybody else." I ~ Leisa Rayven
Time Left quotes by Leisa Rayven
There are certain things - How to say this? OK. Let me give you an example. Can I give you an example? There's a self-portrait by Rembrandt. It's at Kenwood House, very close to where we live. It's one of my favorite paintings. I go to see it quite a lot. I start off on a walk on the Heath, and then I find myself there. It's one of the last self-portraits he did. He painted it sometime between 1665 and when he died four years later, bankrupt and alone. Whole stretches of the canvas are bare. There's a hurried intensity in the strokes - you can see where he scratched into the wet paint with the end of the brush. It's as if he knew there wasn't much time left. And yet, there's a serenity in his face, a sense of something that's survived its own ruin.
Fran couldn't give two shits about that painting. ~ Nicole Krauss
Time Left quotes by Nicole Krauss
But I knew the way the people in the town thought about things. They always had some time left over from their life to bother about other people and what they did. They thought they had to get together to help other people out, like the time they got together about the woman who let a colored man borrow her car and told her the best place for her was up north with all the other nigger lovers, and the time they got the veterans with overseas wives out. If you were different from anybody in town, you had to get out. That's why everybody was so much alike. The way they talked, what they did, what they liked, what they hated. If somebody got to hate something and he was the right person, everybody had to hate it too, or people began to hate the ones who didn't hate it. They used to tell us in school to think for yourself, but you couldn't do that in the town. You had to think what your father thought all his life, and that was what everybody thought. ~ John Kennedy Toole
Time Left quotes by John Kennedy Toole
Avoid the temptation to work so hard that there is no time left for serious thinking. ~ Francis Crick
Time Left quotes by Francis Crick
All I wanted was for the public to be able to have a say in how they are governed. That is a milestone we left a long time ago. ~ Edward Snowden
Time Left quotes by Edward Snowden
Isn't it complicated to be human, though?" she said. "Animals seem to give up their lives so naturally…And after all, I grew up, I married John, I had Debby. So knowing, being able to understand and forecast and even predict an approximate date, shouldn't make any difference. I guess consciousness makes individuals of us, and as individuals we lose the old acceptance…"
"The one thing," Marian said in a voice that went suddenly small and tight, "the thing I can hardly bear sometimes is that I won't ever see her grow up. She'll have to do it without whatever I could have given her."
"Time, too, time and everything that one could do in it, and the chance of wasting or losing or never even realizing it. It's so important to us because we see it so close. We're individuals, we're full of ourselves, and so we're bad historians. We get crazy and anxious because all of sudden there's so little time left to be loving and generous as we wish we'd always been and always intended to be…do you suppose I feel the shortness of time because I want to experience everything and feel everything that the race has ever felt? Because there's so much to feel and I'm greedy? ~ Wallace Stegner
Time Left quotes by Wallace Stegner
IMPROVIDENCE
The other lives I might have led
All now might as well be
Dead. Survived by no one.
Barren, without issue of any sort:
This withered bud, failed
In art and love. With no time left
To change my course. But time enough
for infinite remorse. ~ John Tottenham
Time Left quotes by John Tottenham
The poet Rilke once reported seeing a dying dog give its mistress a look full of reproach. Later, he gave this experience to the narrator of a novel: He was convinced I could have prevented it. It was now clear that he had always overrated me. And there was no time left to explain it to him. He continued to gaze at me, surprised and solitary, until it was over. ~ Sigrid Nunez
Time Left quotes by Sigrid Nunez
Time lost is time not filled, time left empty. ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Time Left quotes by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Elliot finished his book in bed and pondered going to get another one. He only had so much time left, and he had so many books to get through. ~ Sarah Rees Brennan
Time Left quotes by Sarah Rees Brennan
When he was creating this picture, Leonardo da Vinci encountered a serious problem: he had to depict Good - in the person of Jesus - and Evil - in the figure of Judas, the friend who resolves to betray him during the meal. He stopped work on the painting until he could find his ideal models.

One day, when he was listening to a choir, he saw in one of the boys the perfect image of Christ. He invited him to his studio and made sketches and studies of his face.

Three years went by. The Last Supper was almost complete, but Leonardo had still not found the perfect model for Judas. The cardinal responsible for the church started to put pressure on him to finish the mural.

After many days spent vainly searching, the artist came across a prematurely aged youth, in rags and lying drunk in the gutter. With some difficulty, he persuaded his assistants to bring the fellow directly to the church, since there was no time left to make preliminary sketches.

The beggar was taken there, not quite understanding what was going on. He was propped up by Leonardo's assistants, while Leonardo copied the lines of impiety, sin and egotism so clearly etched on his features.

When he had finished, the beggar, who had sobered up slightly, opened his eyes and saw the picture before him. With a mixture of horror and sadness he said:

'I've seen that picture before!'

'When?' asked an astonished Leonardo.

'Three year ~ Paulo Coelho
Time Left quotes by Paulo Coelho
Then - as he was talking - a set of tail-lights going past lit up McMurphy's face, and the windshield reflected an expression that was allowed only because he figured it'd be too dark for anybody in the car to see, dreadfully tired and strained and frantic, like there wasn't enough time left for something he had to do ... ~ Ken Kesey
Time Left quotes by Ken Kesey
There's a hurried intensity in the strokes
you can see where he scratched into the wet paint with the end of the brush. It's as if he knew there wasn't much time left. And yet, there's a serenity in his face, a sense of something that's survived its own ruin. ~ Nicole Krauss
Time Left quotes by Nicole Krauss
I'm quiet for a long moment, and Velva just sits with me, waiting. She's good at that. Just being a companion, not pushing or prodding, but waiting as if she has all the time in the world. Why is it that a woman of 94, who probably has very little time left, can be far more patient that an woman of 30 who has a lot of years ahead of her? ~ Beth Pattillo
Time Left quotes by Beth Pattillo
It is the malady of our age that the young are so busy teaching us that they have no time left to learn. ~ Eric Hoffer
Time Left quotes by Eric Hoffer
By now the night tastes of nothing but ash. But nicotine substitutes for food, nicotine substitutes for sleep, and there is so little time left for the future, once all the demands of the present are taken care of. ~ Francis Spufford
Time Left quotes by Francis Spufford
I'm just a sensitive little soul who's put so much into her career that I haven't had enough energy or time left over to sustain a relationship. ~ Kiki Dee
Time Left quotes by Kiki Dee
When there is limited time left, there is little to lose by being totally honest. ~ Bronnie Ware
Time Left quotes by Bronnie Ware
If you spend your entire life trying to cheat death, there's no time left over to embrace life. ~ Steven Rowley
Time Left quotes by Steven Rowley
I'm at this time in life when I have to take the opportunities I have left. ~ Jeff Bridges
Time Left quotes by Jeff Bridges
Dad seemed lost in a depressed daze. He had recently been saying privately that the evangelical world was more or less being led by lunatics, psychopaths, and extremists, and agreeing with me that if "our side" ever won, America would be in deep trouble. But by then Dad was dying and knew he had very little time left. There was no time to change his life or his new "friends." All ~ Frank Schaeffer
Time Left quotes by Frank Schaeffer
Those days when our watch sees to take lazy age over each minute, and there is always so much time left, so little passed, since the last time you looked. And then at the end, when you're suddenly nervous and want to back out, the time goes in a rush and it's now. ~ A.D. Miller
Time Left quotes by A.D. Miller
I feel like there's too many paintings left unpainted that I just don't want to take the time away. ~ Alan Bean
Time Left quotes by Alan Bean
By the time I get done with my fans and my music and my kids and my family and my fiance and my horses, well, they suffer too, but, I don't really have much time left to do anything else. ~ Tanya Tucker
Time Left quotes by Tanya Tucker
The career world is like an ecological system: People occupy particular fields within which they must compete for resources and survival. The more people there are crowded into a space, the harder it becomes to thrive there. Working in such a field will tend to wear you out as you struggle to get attention, to play the political games, to win scarce resources for yourself. You spend so much time at these games that you have little time left over for true mastery. You are seduced into such fields because you see others there making a living, treading the familiar path. You are not aware of how difficult such a life can be. ~ Robert Greene
Time Left quotes by Robert Greene
As our friend Zach has often noted, in our days those who do the best for astronomy are not the salaried university professors, but so-called dillettanti, physicians, jurists, and so forth.Lamenting the fragmentary time left to a professor has remaining after fulfilling his teaching duties. ~ Carl Friedrich Gauss
Time Left quotes by Carl Friedrich Gauss
It was a hideous discovery for the stranger to make - that a man at the end of his days was capable of inflicting pain as the rawest, loudest youth. With so little time left, the stranger added one more item to his long, long list of regrets. ~ Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
Time Left quotes by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
In his state of complete powerlessness the individual perceives the time he has left to live as a brief reprieve. ~ Theodor Adorno
Time Left quotes by Theodor Adorno
Well, my relationship to America at the time I left was very limited. ~ Harry Mathews
Time Left quotes by Harry Mathews
There was nothing in the fourth stack. Not even a possible. A hundred and sixty gone by. Neagley slid the final forty into place. Reacher watched Klopp. One card at a time, left thumb and index finger, held easy, not near and not far. Decent vision, with his glasses on. Genuine concentration. Not a bored blank stare or an impatient sneer. A calm focus. He was interrogating the photographs, one by one, point by point. Eyes, cheek bones, mouth. Yes or no. No, ~ Lee Child
Time Left quotes by Lee Child
Today we live in a world that judges its achievements by speed and busyness. ... We are so busy making things happen that we have little time left to think about the value of what is happening. We urgently need people who concentrate on the meaning of life rather than simply the speed. ~ Joan D. Chittister
Time Left quotes by Joan D. Chittister
Within a decade or two, all Holocaust survivors will likely have passed away so a ticking clock is in effect in this battle between the truth and lies. Keep in mind even those survivors born in a concentration camp during WW2 would be at least 71 years-of-age when this book (the one you are reading now) was released. Those survivors old enough to clearly recall the events of that nightmare will, of course, be older and have much less time left. As the memory of the Holocaust begins to fade away, it will become easier to deny the genocide even occurred unless those of us who are truthseekers are able to embrace the memory of the genocide and educate others do the same. What's needed in this propaganda war is for the true stories of Holocaust survivors – as well as those of the Nazi perpetrators, their associates and others who witnessed the genocide – to be told loudly and clearly so that there will never, ever be room for doubt in generations to come. After all, nothing is more powerful, credible or damning than eyewitness accounts. ~ James Morcan
Time Left quotes by James Morcan
We bring a deeper commitment to our happiness when we fully understand, that our time left is limited and we really need to make it count. ~ Elisabeth Kubler Ross
Time Left quotes by Elisabeth Kubler Ross
What is the usual reaction among our friends and neighbors if in a family something unexpected happens? ... Telephone and [email] are immediately put to work ... and the incident is discussed for days on end. It is no wonder there is no time left in which to ponder on what it might mean, what message God might want to bring home to us by permitting this or that to happen in our lives ... 'To ponder' is an all-but-forgotten art in our days. Who thinks? We don't need to anymore. The TV and [internet] do it for us. ~ Maria Augusta Von Trapp
Time Left quotes by Maria Augusta Von Trapp
Teddy taught me about kindness, about love that is unconditional; a sentiment not dependent on acceptance, approval, or the expectation of something in return. It was the first time I would ever feel this from a man who wasn't my grandfather. And I didn't know what to do with it at all. If only I'd embraced our differences sooner. I didn't know it then, but we had so little time left. ~ Padma Lakshmi
Time Left quotes by Padma Lakshmi
You have little time left, and none of it for crap. A fine state. I would say that the best of us always comes out when we are against the wall, when we feel the sword dangling overhead. Personally, I wouldn't have it any other way. ~ Carlos Castaneda
Time Left quotes by Carlos Castaneda
Time is infinitely more precious than money, and there is nothing common between them. You cannot accumulate time; you cannot borrow time; you can never tell how much time you have left in the Bank of Life. Time is life ... ~ Israel Davidson
Time Left quotes by Israel Davidson
I believe that when people view the end of their life as a short time left to live and no time to waste, they open up their hearts more profoundly, knowing they have less, not more, time to live. ~ Linda Noble Topf
Time Left quotes by Linda Noble Topf
I get approached to do a lot of commissioned art. Sometimes I do it, but I usually don't, given the day job and everything I've sort of got going on. I'm really passionate about it; there's not that much time left over for the other commissioned projects. ~ Tim Fish
Time Left quotes by Tim Fish
Knowing you don't have much time left changes things. You get kind of philosophical. And you figure things out - more like, they figure themselves out - and everything gets real clear. Your first kiss isn't as important as your last. The math test really didn't matter. The pie really did. The stuff you're good at and the stuff you're bad at are just different parts of the same thing. Same goes for the people you love and the people you don't - and the people who love you and the people who don't. The only thing that mattered was that you cared about a few people. Life is really, really short. ~ Kami Garcia
Time Left quotes by Kami Garcia
Democracy tends to ignore, even deny, threats to its existence because it loathes doing what is needed to counter them," explained Revel. "It awakens only when the danger becomes deadly, imminent, and evident. By then, either there is too little time left for it to save itself, or the price of survival has become crushingly high. ~ Jean Francois Revel
Time Left quotes by Jean Francois Revel
There is no rest for the striver. Just beyond the completion of each goal on our life-achievement "bucket list" looms another goal, and then another. Meanwhile, of course, the clock is ticking - quite loudly, in fact. We become breathless. And we have no time left for a calm and reflective appreciation of our twilight years, no deliciously long afternoons sitting with friends or listening to music or musing about the story of our lives. And we will never get another chance for that. ~ Daniel Klein
Time Left quotes by Daniel Klein
But I was living my life sideway. I did not act on what I wanted, I did not say the things I thought, and being so stifled and clamped all the time left me exhausted; no matter what I was doing, I was always imagining something else. ~ Curtis Sittenfeld
Time Left quotes by Curtis Sittenfeld
What if I start making art again? What if I just did that? That is the thing I love, that is the thing I miss the most. For so long I have believed I could never catch up, but now I realize there's nothing to catch up to, there's only what I choose to make. There's still time, I think. I have so much time left. ~ Jami Attenberg
Time Left quotes by Jami Attenberg
Loretta didn't have much time left for mothering, and once I was old enough to fry my own eggs, she started leaving me home with the cat. Then the cat ran away; she didn't notice. Poor ~ Robin Wasserman
Time Left quotes by Robin Wasserman
Remarkably, studies of visual perception have found that two-dimensional images projected onto the retina only achieve full dimensionality as a result of our perception: we infer the third dimension of depth. Sadly, though, as the urgency to expedite all communicative transactions usurps out customary patterns of exchange, perception is accelerated as well. There does not seem to be a great deal of time left over to infer
or interpret, or imagine
much of anything at all. In the end, of course, there is nothing real about this at all, except for our propensity to let it happen. ~ Jessica Helfand
Time Left quotes by Jessica Helfand
[...] it is rare for a
man who teaches to know his subject thoroughly;
for if he studies it as he ought, he has in most
cases no time left in which to teach it. [...] ~ Arthur Schopenhauer
Time Left quotes by Arthur Schopenhauer
"There's no CEO for the government." But if you were CEO for a day at the government, would you have tools and reports and wherewithal to look at government the way a business would look at its lines of business, its spending, its revenue? I've actually been working, first by myself and then with a group of people, on then on and off, and now much more on, almost since the I time left Microsoft. ~ Steve Ballmer
Time Left quotes by Steve Ballmer
St. Clair gets a crush on Anna. He's torn between her and Ellie, and he spends so much time running between them that he hardly has time left for Josh. And the more time that Josh spends alone, the more he realizes how alone he actually is. All of his friends will be gone the next year. Josh grows increasingly antagonistic toward school, which makes Rashmi increasingly antagonistic toward him, which makes him increasingly antagonistic toward her. And she's upset because Elie dropped her as a friend, and Meredith is upset because now St. Clair likes two girls who aren't her, and Anna is upset because St. Clair is leading her on, and then St. Clair's mom gets cancer.
It's a freaking soap opera. ~ Stephanie Perkins
Time Left quotes by Stephanie Perkins
I love Allah: I have no time left in which to hate the devil. ~ Rabia Basri
Time Left quotes by Rabia Basri
No age can have everthing and in material ways ours is more fortunate than any preceding one. Our ancestors appear to have mastered the art of living better than we are able to when an easy conscience, largely due to the unshaken faith of the time, left a marging of spiritual energy with which to enjoy life. ~ Flora Thompson
Time Left quotes by Flora Thompson
It's like you don't get that she's not gone yet, like you think her time left isn't meaningful anymore. You're acting like a selfish child. ~ Lisa Genova
Time Left quotes by Lisa Genova
Just as you began to feel that you could make good use of time, there was no time left to you. ~ Lisa Alther
Time Left quotes by Lisa Alther
I'm not so interested in technology for technology's sake. I don't need incredibly sophisticated climate-control systems. And I'm absolutely amazed at the time people spend exchanging messages; I don't have a lot of time left over for those things. ~ Annabelle Selldorf
Time Left quotes by Annabelle Selldorf
The gross profits in many workouts appear quite small. It's a little like looking for parking meters with some time left on them. However, the predictability coupled with a short holding period produces quite decent average annual rates of return after allowance for the occasional substantial loss. ~ Warren Buffett
Time Left quotes by Warren Buffett
We mistakenly believe that there is a lot of time left in the year, and we act accordingly. We lack a sense of urgency, not realizing that every week is important, every day is important, every moment is important. Ultimately, effective execution happens daily and weekly! ~ Brian P. Moran
Time Left quotes by Brian P. Moran
People say that time slips through our fingers like sand. What they don't acknowledge is that some of the sand sticks to the skin. These are memories that will remain, memories of the time when there was still time left. ~ David Levithan
Time Left quotes by David Levithan
It's hard to have little children and a job and career at the same time. There is no time left for you as a woman. ~ Sandra Day O'Connor
Time Left quotes by Sandra Day O'Connor
If a man spent so much time studying rekigious matters and philosophy, how would he have any time left over to experience real life? ~mr.Ali~ ~ Farahad Zama
Time Left quotes by Farahad Zama
I work more now perhaps because I know that there is so little time left. ~ Fernando Botero
Time Left quotes by Fernando Botero
How hard it is, to be forced to the conclusion that people should be, nine tenths of the time, left alone! - When there is that in me that longs for absolute commitment. One of the poem-ideas I had was that one could respect only the people who knew that cups had to be washed up and put away after drinking, and knew that a Monday of work follows a Sunday in the water meadows, and that old age with its distorting-mirror memories follows youth and its raw pleasures, but that it's quite impossible to love such people, for what we want in love is release from our beliefs, not confirmation in them. That is where the 'courage of love' comes in - to have the courage to commit yourself to something you don't believe, because it is what - for the moment, anyway - thrills your by its audacity. (Some of the phrasing of this is odd, but it would make a good poem if it had any words ... ) ~ Philip Larkin
Time Left quotes by Philip Larkin
When I was 34, people would say, What's going to happen to you when you're 40? What are you going to do? You don't have much time left. And I was like, what are you talking about? ~ Melanie Griffith
Time Left quotes by Melanie Griffith
I was fantastically well versed by the time I left school. I had a teacher who put 'A Clockwork Orange' my way, and 'Catcher in the Rye.' ~ Kenneth Cranham
Time Left quotes by Kenneth Cranham
Everything did change, faster than his fingers could type. What he had been too cautious to hope for was pulled from his dreams and made real on the television screen. At that momentous hour on December 26, 1991, as he watched the red flag of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics - the empire "empire extending eleven times zones, from the Sea of Japan to the Baltic coast, encompassing more than a hundred ethnicities and two hundred languages; the collective whose security demanded the sacrifice of millions, whose Slavic stupidity had demanded the deportation of Khassan's entire homeland; that utopian mirage cooked up by cruel young men who gave their mustaches more care than their morality; that whole horrid system that told him what he could be and do and think and say and believe and love and desire and hate, the system captained by Lenin and Zinoviev and Stalin and Malenkov and Beria and Molotov and Khrushchev and Kosygin and Mikoyan and Podgorny and Brezhnev and Andropov and Chernenko and Gorbachev, all of whom but Gorbachev he hated with a scorn no author should have for his subject, a scorn genetically encoded in his blood, inherited from his ancestors with their black hair and dark skin - as he watched that flag slink down the Kremlin flagpole for the final time, left limp by the windless sky, as if even the weather wanted to impart on communism this final disgrace, he looped his arms around his wife and son and he held them as the state that had denied him his life ~ Anthony Marra
Time Left quotes by Anthony Marra
The people who have sacrificed their view in order to get to the top have very often left no footprints in the sands of time. ~ Tony Benn
Time Left quotes by Tony Benn
It's not their fault. It's because they've been taught that 'Work is holy, good and beautiful. It counts above everything else, and the workers alone will inherit the earth.' Only things have been arranged so that they have to spend all their time working and there's no time left for the rest of it to come true. ~ Boris Vian
Time Left quotes by Boris Vian
We don't have that much time left to do it. I'm 80. I wanted to be Walter Huston to his John Huston. I wanted him to direct me, not in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, but something. We'll see. We can't predict anything. ~ Donald Sutherland
Time Left quotes by Donald Sutherland
I only have two things in my life, my family and work. If there's any time left over, then I play sports. ~ Mark Zandi
Time Left quotes by Mark Zandi
Would you want to rule the world?" Eve asked Roarke. "Or even the country?"

"Good God, no. Too much work for too little remuneration, and very little time left over to enjoy your kingdom." He glanced over. "I much prefer owning as much of the world as humanly possible. But running it? No thanks. ~ J.D. Robb
Time Left quotes by J.D. Robb
Be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. Talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet. Make all your friends feel there is something special in them. Look at the sunny side of everything. Think only the best, be as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. Give everyone a smile. Spend so much time improving yourself that you have no time left to criticize others. Be too big for worry and too noble for anger. ~ Norman Vincent Peale
Time Left quotes by Norman Vincent Peale
I love Virginians because Virginians are all snobs and I like snobs. A snob has to spend so much time being a snob that he has little time left to meddle with you. ~ William Faulkner
Time Left quotes by William Faulkner
We have failed ... through our lack of responsible awareness ... and thus added to suffering around the world. All of us are cripples-some physically, some mentally, some emotionally. We must, therefore, strive cooperatively to create a new world. There is no time left for destruction, for hatred, for anger. We must build, in hope and joy and celebration. ~ Ivan Illich
Time Left quotes by Ivan Illich
He stood up. His heart was leaping against his ribs like a frantic bird. Perhaps it knew it had little time left, perhaps it was determined to fulfill a lifetime's beats before the end. He did not look back as he closed the office door. ~ J.K. Rowling
Time Left quotes by J.K. Rowling
Live your life as if you are ready to say goodbye to it at any moment, as if the time left for you were some pleasant surprise. ~ Marcus Aurelius
Time Left quotes by Marcus Aurelius
Now discontent nibbled at him - not painfully, but constantly. Where does discontent start? You are warm enough, but you shiver. You are fed, yet hunger gnaws you. You have been loved, but your yearning wanders in new fields. And to prod all these there's time, the bastard Time. The end of life is now not so terribly far away - you can see it the way you see the finish line when you come into the stretch - and your mind says, "Have I worked enough? Have I eaten enough? Have I loved enough?" All of these, of course, are the foundation of man's greatest curse, and perhaps his greatest glory. "What has my life meant so far, and what can it mean in the time left to me?" And now we're coming to the wicked, poisoned dart: "What have I contributed in the Great Ledger? What am I worth?" And this isn't vanity or ambition. Men seem to be born with a debt they can never pay no matter how hard they try. It piles up ahead of them. Man owes something to man. If he ignores the debt it poisons him, and if he tries to make payments the debt only increases, and the quality of his gift is the measure of the man. ~ John Steinbeck
Time Left quotes by John Steinbeck
On the way up the walk I took in the weedless border gardens, the two floors of smudgeless windows, and I wondered, when a person does all this, do they have time left over for other things? ~ Catherine Ryan Hyde
Time Left quotes by Catherine Ryan Hyde
How long have we got? We have to stabilize emissions of carbon dioxide within a decade, or temperatures will warm by more than one degree ... We don't have much time left. ~ James Hansen
Time Left quotes by James Hansen
I had only a little time left and I didn't want to waste it on God. ~ Albert Camus
Time Left quotes by Albert Camus
Time, Baby - so much, so much time left until the end of my life - sometimes I go crazy at how slowly time passes yet how quickly my body ages.
But I shouldn't allow myself to think like this. I have to remind myself that time only frightens me when I think of having to spend it alone. Sometimes I scare myself with how many of my thoughts revolve around making me feel better about sleeping alone in a room. ~ Douglas Coupland
Time Left quotes by Douglas Coupland
...there was about five minutes of time left for him to live.

"...he seemed to be living, in these minutes, so many lives that there was no need as yet to think of that last moment, so that he made several arrangements, dividing up the time into portions--one for saying farewell to his companions, two minutes for that; then a couple more for thinking over his own life and career and all about himself; and another minute for a last look around. He remembered having divided his time like this quite well. While saying good- bye to his friends he recollected asking one of them some very usual everyday question, and being much interested in the answer. Then having bade farewell, he embarked upon those two minutes which he had allotted to looking into himself... He wished to put it to himself as quickly and clearly as possible, that here was he, a living, thinking man, and that in three minutes he would be nobody; or if somebody or something, then what and where? He thought he would decide this question once for all in these last three minutes. A little way off there stood a church, and its gilded spire glittered in the sun. He remembered staring stubbornly at this spire, and at the rays of light sparkling from it. ~ Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Time Left quotes by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Speak, then, manling," said Mother Winter. "You have a little time left. ~ Jim Butcher
Time Left quotes by Jim Butcher
I feel like I don't have a lot of time left. ~ Maurice Sendak
Time Left quotes by Maurice Sendak
You can't do such a lot and do it all so well and have much time left for the ordinary human feelings. ~ Patricia Wentworth
Time Left quotes by Patricia Wentworth
While there's time left, I want to do different kinds of things. ~ Robert Urich
Time Left quotes by Robert Urich
The French team has given me so much and I want to help it. I told myself I did not have much time left in soccer, and I want to profit from it to the maximum. ~ Zinedine Zidane
Time Left quotes by Zinedine Zidane
I was in too much haste, and now have no time left. ~ Ursula K. Le Guin
Time Left quotes by Ursula K. Le Guin
But we are almost certainly going to miss our [global warming] deadline. We cannot get the 10 lost years back, and by the time a new global agreement to replace the Kyoto accord is negotiated and put into effect, there will probably not be enough time left to stop the warming short of the point where we must not go. ~ Gwynne Dyer
Time Left quotes by Gwynne Dyer
The four of us couldn't have made a record with the time left over when we were shooting the show. We were on stage from 7.30 in the morning 'til 7 at night. Later on, when there was a break from filming, and we were sick of doing it the old way. ~ Peter Tork
Time Left quotes by Peter Tork
It will be my birthday on Tuesday. Last year, I reached the painful conclusion that there wasn't enough time left to read every book ever written. This year, my gloomy realisation is even more painful - I will not be able to correct everyone's mistakes before I depart. ~ Daniel Finkelstein
Time Left quotes by Daniel Finkelstein
As you get older, don't slow down. Speed up. There's less time left! ~ Malcolm Forbes
Time Left quotes by Malcolm Forbes
There is no time left for anything but to make peace work a dimension of our every waking activity. ~ Elise M. Boulding
Time Left quotes by Elise M. Boulding
You never stopped thinking of yourself as a writer biding his time in the Department of Factual Verification. But between the job and the life there wasn't much time left over for emotion recollected in tranquillity. ~ Jay McInerney
Time Left quotes by Jay McInerney
Scientists who had worked on the atom bomb added their voices to the growing movement. George Kistiakowsky, a Harvard University chemistry professor who had worked on the first atomic bomb, and later was science adviser to President Eisenhower, became a spokesman for the disarmament movement. HIs last public remarks, before his death from cancer at the age of eighty-two, were in an editorial for the Bulletin of Atomic Scientist in December 1982. "I tell you as my parting words: Forget the channels. There simply is not enough time left before the world explodes. Concentrate instead on organizing, with so many others of like mind, a mass movement for peace such as there has not been before. ~ Howard Zinn
Time Left quotes by Howard Zinn
Then Allen said, I've discovered a way to have a lot more time. In the past, I used to look at my time as if it were divided into several parts. One part I reserved for Joey, another part was for Sue, another part to help with Ana, another part for household work. The time left over I considered my own. I could read, write, do research, go for walks. But now I try not to divide time into parts anymore. I consider my time with Joey and Sue as my own time. When I help Joey with his homework, I try to find ways of seeing his time as my own time. I go through his lesson with him, sharing his presence and finding ways to be interested in what we do during that time. The time for him becomes my own time. The same with Sue. The remarkable thing is that now I have unlimited time for myself! ~ Thich Nhat Hanh
Time Left quotes by Thich Nhat Hanh
We are silent, considering shortfalls. There's not much time left, for us to become what we once intended. Jon had potential, but it's not a word that can be used comfortably any more. Potential has a shelf-life. ~ Margaret Atwood
Time Left quotes by Margaret Atwood
Neither of us had anything to say, or rather we had everything to say, but after all those nights of not saying a word, we suddenly found we had not one dollar of time left between us. ~ David Mitchell
Time Left quotes by David Mitchell
Lately, I have been wondering if there is time left for daydreaming in this 21st-century world of constant communication. ~ James Thurber
Time Left quotes by James Thurber
Algol is the name of the winking demon star, Medusa of the skies; fair but deadly to look on, even for one who is already dying.
Ah, the bright stars of the night.
Almost they obliterate the clear white pain. A thousand stars shining in the ether; but no dazzling newcomer. And so little time left, so little time ...
Yet still two-faced Medusa laughs from behind the clouds, demanding homage. Homage, Medusa, or a sword, a blade sharper than death itself.
The wind stirs. Night clouds obscure the universe. A lower music now, a different kind of death.
No stars tonight, my love.
No Selene. ~ Elizabeth Redfern
Time Left quotes by Elizabeth Redfern
She looked down at him, smiling with exasperated amusement. *Stubborn, snarly male.*

*Stubbornness is a much-maligned quality,* he panted as he climbed toward her. Her silvery, velvet-coated laugh filled the land. Then he finally got a good look at her. He sank to his knees. *I owe you a debt, Lady.*

She shook her head. *The debt is mine, not yours.*

*I failed you,* he said bitterly, looking at her wasted body.

*No, Daemon,* Jaenelle replied softly. *I failed you. You asked me to heal the crystal chalice and return to the living world. And I did. But I don't think I ever forgave my body for being the instrument that was used to try to destroy me, and I became its cruelest torturer. For that I'm sorry because you treasured that part of me.*

*No, I treasured all of you. I love you, Witch. I always will. You're everything I'd dreamed you would be.*

She smiled at him. *And I - * She shuddered, pressed her hand against her chest. *Come. There's little time left.* She fled through the rocks, out of sight before he could move. He hurried after her, following the glittering trail, gasping as he felt a crushing weight descend on him. *Daemon.* Her voice came back to him, faint and pain-filled. *If the body is going to survive, I can't stay any longer.* He fought against the weight.

*Jaenelle!*

*You have to take this in slow stages. Rest there now. Rest, Daemon. I'll mark the trail for you. ~ Anne Bishop
Time Left quotes by Anne Bishop
The time left over from these good works was given to 'making a home' for her brother, whom she adored, though she was completely undomesticated and went about it with more enthusiasm than skill. ~ Barbara Pym
