So what, simply put, is the Third Covenant? It is the recalibration, the reawakening of that which is truly human, truly holy. It is truly catholic, kata-holos (Greek "according to the whole"), truly universal, sacred, and unitive. It is made manifest by a unitive noosphere, one that embraces the Monosacred present in all Abrahamic, Indigenous, Chinese, Indian, and any and all other cultures. It embraces the whole biosphere, the whole planet, solar system, galaxy, and universe. It both precedes and succeeds space and time. ~ Albert J. LaChance
Third Covenant quotes by Albert J. LaChance
I'm hungrier than a kid on his third day of fat camp. ~ John Green
Third Covenant quotes by John Green
It's such a hopeful, almost utopian word, that word "phase." As if any minute, "we" would suffer some sort of Joad overload, come to "our" senses, and for heaven's sake, do something about our godforsaken shoes. But the book phase never ended. The book phase would bloom and grow into a whole series of seasonal affiliations including our communist phase, our beatnik phase, our vegetarian phase, and the three-year period known as Please Don't Talk to Me. Now that we are finishing up the third decade of the book phase, we ask ourselves if we have changed. Sure, we still dress in the bruise palette of gray, black, and blue, and we still haven't gotten around to piercing our ears. But we wear lipstick now, we own high-heeled shoes. Concessions have been made. ~ Sarah Vowell
Third Covenant quotes by Sarah Vowell
She will take your life and all you are and all you care'st for, and she will leave you with nothing but mist and fog. She'll take your joy. And one day you'll awake and your heart and your soul will have gone. A husk you'll be, a wisp you'll be, and a thing no more than a dream on waking, or a memory of something forgotten.' 'Hollow,' whispered the third voice. 'Hollow, hollow, hollow, hollow, hollow.' 'You ~ Neil Gaiman
Third Covenant quotes by Neil Gaiman
The first question we must address deals with optimism, the possibility of achieving our goal. Are we in a position where we can actually hope to effect change? Assuming we become convinced that there are reasons for optimism, we move to the next question. Are we cetain that we want change? The stories about EHMs, jackals, and suffering around the globe strike raw nerves, but now we demand absolute proof that our grievances justify the efforts change will demand. Third: Is there a unifying principle that will validate our efforts? We look to ascertain that we are not merely seeking to impose our moral, religious, or philosophical values on others but instead are intent on creating something of true and lasting universal benefit. And finally: What can we each do? You and I personally need to evaluate our talents and passions. What are our individual options and desires? How do they fit into the bigger picture? ~ John Perkins
Third Covenant quotes by John Perkins
Brain-like in function and speed, the internet connected over one-third of the global population. Three million searches every minute; one-hundred-trillion emails every year; more Facebook users than people in North America, all with with personal photos, videos, apps, and chats. There were dozens of dating sites, an immersive universe called 2nd Life that boasted a country-sized GDP, a slew of viruses, obnoxious advertising, more than a billion photos of naked women, and seventy-two hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute. This was the environment where the friendship flourished. ~ Jake Vander Ark
Third Covenant quotes by Jake Vander Ark
Let's see, I think I right now I'm third in the money-winning and first in money-spending. ~ Tony Lema
Third Covenant quotes by Tony Lema
I had too much respect for the game to leave it behind or to make it my second or third sport in college. ~ Ryne Sandberg
Third Covenant quotes by Ryne Sandberg
Every work of art belongs to his time. I would not paint again the Mona Lisa in the third dimension. ~ Alejandro Jodorowsky
Third Covenant quotes by Alejandro Jodorowsky
My audience is comprised of three categories. The first category contains the people who decide after the first five minutes that they've made a mistake and leave. The second category is the people who give the film a chance and leave annoyed after 40 minutes. The third category includes the people that watch the whole film and return to see it again. If I'm able to persuade 33% of the audience to stay, then I can say that I've succeeded. ~ Peter Greenaway
Third Covenant quotes by Peter Greenaway
Korea can't become a 'first-class' nation unless regulation and 'a sense of power' disappear. The nation's politics is the fourth-class, bureaucratic are the third-class, and business is the second-class. ~ Lee Kun-hee
Third Covenant quotes by Lee Kun-hee
We Americans are not God's covenant people. America has, in any event, no biblical guarantee of perpetuity. ~ Carl F. H. Henry
Third Covenant quotes by Carl F. H. Henry
If there was one thing worse than being cheated, it was being cheated by someone who referred to themselves in the third person. ~ Chris Wooding
Third Covenant quotes by Chris Wooding
With the first drink comes the truth, with the second drink comes wishful thinking, and with the third drink come the lies. ~ Douglas Coupland
Third Covenant quotes by Douglas Coupland
If he raced his pregnant wife he'd finish third. ~ Tommy Lasorda
Third Covenant quotes by Tommy Lasorda
The wife carries the burden of the marriage on her shoulders," his mother said. "Her husband, herself, both of them, their covenant, and everything else that gets added over the years. And all that is very, very heavy. It is in her power to keep the marriage alive and thriving, but also to drive it to the brink of crisis and back again. For whatever reason, men have not taken this role upon themselves. Perhaps they are not capable. Now, as you know, every empty space, every abyss created in nature fills itself, and this one is filled by women out of a sense of responsibility and maybe also the will to control. It's a simple matter, really, but in case you haven't understood, I'll explain it: your wife must be happy, satisfied, fulfilled, and impassioned, and then the burden of marriage will not be heavy for her. She'll be prepared to take it upon herself for better and for worse until the very day that one of you shuts your eyes for good. ~ Anat Talshir
Third Covenant quotes by Anat Talshir
For all that Christ did is thine. That perfect righteousness which Jesus wrought out, when through His stainless life He kept the law and made it honourable, is thine, and is imputed to thee. Christ is in the covenant. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon
Third Covenant quotes by Charles Haddon Spurgeon
The keel-mounted rail gun pushed the whole ship backward in a solid mathematical relationship to the mass of the two-kilo tungsten round moving at a measurable fraction of c. Newton's third law expressed as violence. Holden's ~ James S.A. Corey
Third Covenant quotes by James S.A. Corey
Being older, I began to understand the lyrics. At the beginning, it sounds like a guy is trying to get his girlfriend to secretly meet up with him at midnight. But it's an odd place for a tryst, a hanging tree, where a man was hung for murder. The murderer's lover must have had something to do with the killing, or maybe they were just going to punish her anyway, because his corpse called out for her to flee. That's weird obviously, the talking-corpse bit, but it's not until the third verse that "The Hanging Tree" begins to get unnerving. You realize the singer of the song is the dead murderer. He's still in the hanging tree. And even though he told his lover to flee, he keeps asking if she's coming to meet him. The phrase Where I told you to run, so we'd both be free is the most troubling because at first you think he's talking about when he told her to flee, presumably to safety. But then you wonder if he meant for her to run to him. To death. In the final stanza, it's clear that that's what he was waiting for. His lover, with her rope necklace, hanging dead next to him in the tree.

I used to think the murderer was the creepiest guy imaginable. Now, with a couple of trips to the Hunger Games under my belt, I decide not to judge him without knowing more details. Maybe his lover was already sentenced to death and he was trying to make it easier. To let her know he'd be waiting. Or maybe he thought the place he was leaving her was really worse than death. Didn't I wa ~ Suzanne Collins
Third Covenant quotes by Suzanne Collins
It's kind of like trying to make straight lines from curves, but involving shapes that sort of dictate what the curves are, if you like, and the difference between two separate pieces creates a third transitional piece if you like. ~ Sean Booth
Third Covenant quotes by Sean Booth
Because there are three classes of intellects: one which comprehends by itself; another which appreciates what others comprehend; and a third which neither comprehends by itself nor by the showing of others; the first is the most excellent, the second is good, the third is useless. ~ Niccolo Machiavelli
Third Covenant quotes by Niccolo Machiavelli
Liberals are more likely to see people as victims of circumstance and oppression, and doubt whether individuals can climb without governmental help. My own analysis using 2005 survey data from Syracuse University shows that about 90 percent of conservatives agree that "While people may begin with different opportunities, hard work and perseverance can usually overcome those disadvantages." Liberals - even upper-income liberals - are a third less likely to say this. ~ Arthur C. Brooks
Third Covenant quotes by Arthur C. Brooks
What's the matter?" asked the teacher, seeing her bewildered fact.

"Why - why," said Elizabeth Ann, "I don't know what I am at all. If I'm second-grade arithmetic and seventh-grade reading and third-grade spelling, what grade am I?"

The teacher laughed at the turn of her phrase. "you aren't any grade at all, no matter where you are in school. You're just yourself, aren't you? What difference does it make what grade you're in! And what's the use of your reading little baby things too easy for you just because you don't know your multiplication table? ~ Dorothy Canfield
Third Covenant quotes by Dorothy Canfield
We are the bourgeoisie - the third estate, as they call us now - and what we want is a nobility of merit, nothing more. We don't recognize this lazy nobility we now have, we reject our present class hierarchy. We want all men to be free and equal, for no one to be someone else's subject, but for all to be subject to the law. There should be an end of privileges and arbitrary power. Everyone should be treated equally as a child of the state, and just as there are no longer any middlemen between the layman and his God, so each citizen should stand in direct relation to the state. We want freedom of the press, of employment, of commerce. We want all men to compete without any special privileges, and the only crown should be the crown of merit. ~ Thomas Mann
Third Covenant quotes by Thomas Mann
What's the third largest nation in the world after China and India? It's the Facebook nation - 430 million people on Facebook. ~ James G. Stavridis
Third Covenant quotes by James G. Stavridis
The whole thing is so degrading! That a man like Eric should be reduced to crawling before those bloodsuckers who are taking every advantage of his weakened state. And strip himself of one whole third of his wealth to throw it away like all the huge sums they've already got out of him! ~ Louis Auchincloss
Third Covenant quotes by Louis Auchincloss
Better for Hook,' he cried, 'if he had had less ambition.' It was in his darkest hours only that he referred to himself in the third person. 'No ~ J.M. Barrie
Third Covenant quotes by J.M. Barrie
There is spiritual edification in recognizing that God stays faithful in his covenants, that he forgives all sin despite whatever historical or sociopolitical circumstance. ~ James Mikolajczyk
Third Covenant quotes by James Mikolajczyk
Two-thirds of the Earth is covered by water. The other third is covered by Garry Maddox. ~ Ralph Kiner
Third Covenant quotes by Ralph Kiner
There is a third silent party to all our bargains. The nature and soul of things takes on itself the guaranty of the fulfillment of every contract, so that honest service cannot come to loss. If you serve an ungrateful master, serve him the more. Put God in your debt. Every stroke shall be repaid. The longer the payment is withholden, the better for you; for compound interest on compound interest is the rate and usage of this exchequer. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Third Covenant quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson
I did a film called 'Patriot Games' with Harrison Ford, and we actually shot three different versions of my death. And they settled on the third. ~ Sean Bean
Third Covenant quotes by Sean Bean
Two languages cancel each other out, suggests Barthes, beckoning a third. Sometimes our words are few and far between, or simply ghosted. in which case the hand, although limited by the borders of skin and cartilage, can be the third language that animates where the tongue falters. ~ Ocean Vuong
Third Covenant quotes by Ocean Vuong
California is the third largest oil producer. More importantly, California burns more oil, consumes more oil than any state or collection of states in America. ~ Jerry Brown
Third Covenant quotes by Jerry Brown
Three courses open lie to wealth, to give, enjoy, or lose, Who shrinketh from the former two, perforce the third doth choose. ~ Bhartrhari
Third Covenant quotes by Bhartrhari
All the while I had been in San Juan I'd condemned it without really disliking it. I felt that sooner or later I would see that third dimension, that depth that makes a city real and that you never see until you've been there awhile. ~ Hunter S. Thompson
Third Covenant quotes by Hunter S. Thompson
The madness of an autumn prairie cold front coming through ... ringing throughout the house was an alarm bell that no one but Alfred and Enid could hear directly. ~ Jonathan Franzen
Third Covenant quotes by Jonathan Franzen
Thank you for your anonymous, enthusiastic posting of my quotes, but one of them is taken from Einstein, another from IB Singer and a third from Shakespeare. Let's return what's rightfully theirs as I feel their brands could use the signal boost. ~ Glen David Gold
Third Covenant quotes by Glen David Gold

Third Covenant quotes by Ani DiFranco

Third Covenant quotes by G.R. Matthews
Okay. I'll admit, I slept or doodled through most of my classes. I have no idea who you're talking about. ~ Jennifer L. Armentrout
Third Covenant quotes by Jennifer L. Armentrout
One will hate you for taking his life, another will run to excesses that you scorn. A third will emerge mad and raving, another a monster you cannot control. One will be jealous of your superiority, another shut you out ... And the veil will always come down between you Make a legion, you will be, always and forever alone! ~ Anne Rice
Third Covenant quotes by Anne Rice
When I was a kid, my dad kind of forced me to sing the third harmony for our little family group, and I just kind of hated it. I just felt so uncomfortable on stage, too shy. ~ Nathaniel Rateliff
Third Covenant quotes by Nathaniel Rateliff
Oh, yes, they're still angry. At Third World aid, cuts in the defence budget, women priests, marriages for homosexuals, our new countrymen, all the things you would guess would upset these old boys. In their hearts they're still fascists. ~ Jo Nesbo
Third Covenant quotes by Jo Nesbo
Life as a private investigator, slash bounty hunter wasn't all Gary Beck wanted it to be. There weren't any big mansions on a palm beach owned by an affluent writer generous enough to let him live rent-free and use his spare Ferrari. But then you have to ask yourself, what could you expect living on a planet like Deanna? As a third-rate colony in the Terran Empire, Deanna had more than its fair share of dull moments. It orbits a star called Ramalama. If you think that's funny, Deanna's two moons are called Ding and Dong, respectively (this is a local joke) and one of them falls down occasionally. ~ Christina Engela
Third Covenant quotes by Christina Engela
We are actually fourth dimensional beings in a third dimensional body inhabiting a second dimensional world! ~ Neal Cassady
Third Covenant quotes by Neal Cassady
If two individuals enter into a contract to commit trespass, theft, robbery or murder upon a third, the contract is unlawful and void, simply because it is a contract to violate natural justice, or men's natural rights. ~ Lysander Spooner
Third Covenant quotes by Lysander Spooner
The English mind is always in a rage. The intellect of the race is wasted in the sordid and stupid quarrels of second-rate politicians or third-rate theologians. ~ Oscar Wilde
Third Covenant quotes by Oscar Wilde
The first boy said, "I bring you gold." The second boy said, "I bring you myrrh." The third boy said, "Frank sent this. ~ Ken Robinson
