In this walk to freedom, we must, without question obtain hearts of honesty and a tongue of truthfulness. ~ The Tru Sum
The Tru Sum quotes by The Tru Sum
To understand Jesus when he stated that he was the way, the truth and the life, one must first recognize his manner of a walk and believe firmly that his manner is true. ~ The Tru Sum
The Tru Sum quotes by The Tru Sum
Head up and Chest out! ~ The Tru Sum
The Tru Sum quotes by The Tru Sum
Pride; you know that self sufficient, self sustaining ego that may be very well the strength to your entire being but the weakness to your being entire."

-taken from "A Heart's Thoughts ~ The Tru Sum
The Tru Sum quotes by The Tru Sum
I've often wondered what people mean when they talk about an experience. I'm a technologist and accustomed to seeing things as they are. I see everything they are talking about very clearly; after all, I'm not blind. I see the moon over the Tamaulipas desert--it is more distinct than at other times, perhaps, but still a calculable mass circling around our planet, an example of gravitation, interesting, but in what way an experience? I see the jagged rocks, standing out black against the moonlight; perhaps they do look like the jagged backs of prehistoric monsters, but I know they are rocks, stone, probably volcanic, one should have to examine them to be sure of this. Why should I feel afraid? There aren't any prehistoric monsters any more. Why should I imagine them? I'm sorry, but I don't see any stone angels either; nor demons; I see what I see--the usual shapes due to erosion and also my long shadow on the sand, but no ghosts. Why get womanish? I don't see any Flood either, but sand lit up by the moon and made undulating, like water, by the wind, which doesn't surprise me; I don't find it fantastic, but perfectly explicable. I don't know what the souls of the damned look like; perhaps like black agaves in the desert at night. What I see are agaves, a plant that blossoms once only and dies. Furthermore, I know (however I may look at the moment) that I am not the last or the first man on earth; and I can't be moved by the mere idea that I am the last man, because it isn't tru ~ Max Frisch
The Tru Sum quotes by Max Frisch
Try to be brief, will you, Tru?" Tse-Mallory asked his companion. "If there is one among us who is guilty of persistent loquacity," came the reply smoothly, "it is not I." "Debatable" was Tse-Mallory's simple retort, as he followed September up the steps leading out of the temple. "Not without being guilty of the crime of debating!" shouted Truzenzuzex, ~ Alan Dean Foster
The Tru Sum quotes by Alan Dean Foster
Now I see why you have no trouble getting laid," she said softly.
Tru swallowed. "You didn't before?"
"No. You're kind of an asshole."
"No more than anyone else," he said with a shrug. "Less than some."
She frowned up at him. "But you should be better."
"Why the hell would you think that?"
"Because you're Tru. ~ Ellen Davis Conner
The Tru Sum quotes by Ellen Davis Conner
His soul is talking to mine, and I feel the warmth of his stare heat my skin. "I need to know you're by my side every night. Those three days you were in the hospital and wouldn't wake up made me realize how much I need you to live. If something would have happened to you ... " he takes a trembling breath " ... I wouldn't be strong enough to make it without you. I love you so damn much, Tru, and I know this might be fast for you, but you're my forever. ~ R.D. Cole
The Tru Sum quotes by R.D. Cole
Are you sure about this? The lion wondered. We could have six females to serve us. Less work.
Tru stifled a laugh. That's what you think. ~ Ellen Connor
The Tru Sum quotes by Ellen Connor
I'm picking you up for lunch because I want to go over with you what will happen on the tour."

Do I get a choice?

"Shouldn't that be your assistant's job to talk to me about that stuff?" I question.

"Well if I wanted my assistant to have lunch with you then yeah it would be, but I don't, so you're getting me – okay?"

"What if I already have plans?"

"Do you?"

"Yes?"

Silence.

"With?"

Do I detect a hint of jealously there, Jake?

"Starbucks. I meet him every day at one for a coffee and blueberry muffin."

I hear him exhale down the line.

"Would you consider ditching him for me?" His voice has gone all seductive and flirty again.

"I don't know … it's a pretty serious thing me and Starbucks have going on."

"I'll make it worth your while."

"Go on?"

"I'm talking cake, Tru, lots and lots of cake…"

"Starbucks who?" I giggle ~ Samantha Towle
The Tru Sum quotes by Samantha Towle
As might be expected of creatures so heavenly in color, the disposition of bluebirds is particularly angelic. Gentleness and amiability are expressed in their soft musical voice. Tru-al-ly, tru-al-ly, they sweetly assert when we can scarcely believe that spring is here; tru-wee, tur-wee they softly call in autumn when they go roaming through the countryside in flocks of azure. ~ Neltje Blanchan
The Tru Sum quotes by Neltje Blanchan
I'm independent and strong, but sometimes ... just sometimes, it's nice to be taken case of. It's nice to be made to feel like a lady ~ Samantha Towle
The Tru Sum quotes by Samantha Towle
I heard a thunk that sounded like Lend's head against the door. "This is stupid. Let my dad take care of it. He's been contacting everyone he knows who is still with IPCA, and - "
I walked over and put my own head against the door, pretending there wasn't anything between us. "And it doesn't matter. IPCA isn't the same. There are new people in charge, and they aren't messing around. I can help her. Raquel would do the same for me. She has done the same for me."
"I don't see what good it's going to do for you to waltz back in there and - "
"Can I tango back in there, instead? So much sexier than the waltz."
"Evie, I'm serious! You just broke out of IPCA! You're going to get tased and tagged again."
"I really doubt it. Faerie backup, remember?" I went to the window and looked down into the yard, where Reth stood in the midst of the dead brown grass, looking like a god of spring and sunshine who had seriously lost his way. He was staring straight up at me, although how he knew I'd look straight down that instant I had no idea. Creeper.
I shivered a little, still not breaking eye contact with Reth. I was in over my head, I knew that, and I knew I'd owe him even more after this. I had no doubt I'd pay in a way I really didn't want to, and soon.
The door shook as Lend kicked it. "Pretty much the only idea I like less than you walking back into IPCA is you walking back into IPCA with only Jack and Reth for protection."
"They owe me."
"Tru ~ Kiersten White
The Tru Sum quotes by Kiersten White
Tru, this is your home. You are my blood kin, my second cousin thrice removed. But blood kin's not the most important kin. Do you know what is?" "No, sir." "Love kin. And that comes from the heart. That's why this is your home. ~ G. Neri
The Tru Sum quotes by G. Neri
Lady Thornton!" the prosecutor rapped out, and he began firing questions at her so rapidly that she could scarcely keep track of them. "Tell us the truth, Lady Thornton. Did that man"-his finger pointed accusingly to where Ian was sitting, out of Elizabeth's vision-"fid you and bribe you to come back here and tell us this absurd tale? Or did he find you and threaten your life if you didn't come here today? Isn't it true that you have no idea where your brother is? Isn't it true that by your own admission a few moments ago you fled in terror for your life from this cruel man? Isn't it true that you are afraid of further cruelty from him-"
"No!" Elizabeth cried. Her gaze raced over the male faces around and above her, and she could see not one that looked anything but either dubious or contemptuous of the truths she had told.
"No further questions!"
"Wait!" In that infinitesimal moment of time Elizabeth realized that if she couldn't convince them she was telling the truth, she might be able to convince them she was too stupid to make up such a lie. "Yes, my lord," her voice rang out. "I cannot deny it-about his cruelty, I mean."
Sutherland swung around, his eyes lighting up, and renewed excitement throbbed in the great chamber. "You admit this is a cruel man?"
"Yes, I do," Elizabeth emphatically declared.
"My dear, poor woman, could you tell us-all of us-some examples of his cruelty?"
"Yes, and when I do, I know you will all understand how tru ~ Judith McNaught
The Tru Sum quotes by Judith McNaught
I didn't know the meaning of the word dying until you left me. This last week without you.." He pulls in a sharp breath, briefly closing his eyes. "I'm nothing without you Tru, nothing. ~ Samantha Towle
The Tru Sum quotes by Samantha Towle
With you I know I can do it, because your my strength, Tru. You make me want to be a better man, a good dad to our baby. The best. And I want to spend the rest of my life taking care of you both ~ Samantha Towle
The Tru Sum quotes by Samantha Towle
Chet couldn't wipe away his smile. "I have learned much since we parted ways, and one of those lessons is that a static force, even in mass, can be crushed by a dynamic one."

Wellington's face stiffened. "What kind of foolish talk is that?"

"You will find out. On the Fourth of July, as you sit here in your governor's mansion pandering to your public servants - using them to climb into more power, you will learn what it feels like to have everything you believe in shatter before your very eyes."

Wellington shifted irritably in his seat. "What sort of riddle is that, Chet? You and I have been in this political game our entire lives. You know how it works, and that's not going to change. Ever. One party controls the knobs of politics with one hand, and the other party controls the knobs with the other hand. But they are all one body, members of a political ruling class. That's what we do. This isn't anything new."

Chet pushed his brows over his eyes in a gaze that could melt steel. "You will not be able to stop the ramifications of its impact. This thing I'm about to unleash upon you, I'm doing to you because you are an evil man. I used to be, I'll give you that. But I changed, luckily, before death found me. And I will not let you get away with what you are doing to this country."

Wellington was aghast. "So you're involved with terrorism now, are you? What are you going to do?"

Chet shook his head. "The tru ~ Rich Hoffman
The Tru Sum quotes by Rich Hoffman
I love you," he repeats. "I've only ever loved one girl, Tru – and that's you. It's always been you. I loved you from the moment I knew how to love."
My eyes fill with tears again, them quickly spilling over, down my cheeks.
Jake takes my face in his hands, caressing my tears away with his thumbs. "You're it for me. I want to be with you forever. I want you to be mine."
I stare deep into his eyes. "I've always been yours, and I always will be. I love you too … so much. ~ Samantha Towle
The Tru Sum quotes by Samantha Towle
Your dad said you stopped playing right after I left." He did? "My dad talks too much." "Why, Tru?" "I dunno." I shrug. "He just does." "No." Jake smiles, coming over to me. "Not why does your dad talk too much. Why did you stop playing after I left?" "When you left, I guess the music left with you. ~ Samantha Towle
The Tru Sum quotes by Samantha Towle
A girl who can dance – finally!" Stuart cheers, pulling my attention back to him, grabbing hold of my hips. "I've found my Ginger! Tru, seriously, if you had less tits and more cock, I'd be proposing marriage to you right now!" He spins me around.

"It can always be arranged," I laugh. "Marry me?" I hold out my hand dramatically to him.

He grabs it and yanks me back to his chest. "Vegas tomorrow, baby. I'll be the one in white at the Elvis chapel."

"I'll be there." I wink at him.

We both start laughing, as he starts to move me around the floor again.

I like Stuart. He's so much fun, and so uncomplicated and as hot as hell. He could give Jake a run for his money in those stakes.

Why isn't he straight?

Actually no, my life is complicated enough as it is without trying to add another guy into the picture ~ Samantha Towle
The Tru Sum quotes by Samantha Towle
It's been what – eleven years?" he says, his voice quieter now.

"Twelve." I swallow.

"Twelve. Christ, yeah, right." He runs his hand through his hair. "You look different ... but the same – you know," he shrugs.

"I know," I smile. "You look different too." I gesture to the tattoos on his arms.

He grins down at them, then back at me.

"But still the same." I point my finger to the freckles on his nose.

Surprised by how much my fingers are itching to touch him, I draw my hand back.

He rubs his hand over his nose. "Yeah, no getting rid of them."

"I always liked them."

"Yeah, but you liked the Care Bears, Tru."

I flush. I can't believe he remembers that.

It's crazy that he, Jake Wethers, rock god extraordinaire, remembers that I liked the Care Bears when I was little. ~ Samantha Towle
The Tru Sum quotes by Samantha Towle
Endings are beginnings in disguise, dear Tru. They signify one door closing and another one opening. They mark the point where the heroine transforms from a person who's been beaten and badgered and bolstered by life into someone who's about to shed her past and metamorphose into an entirely new creature. ~ Cat Winters
The Tru Sum quotes by Cat Winters
Tru only matched his grin and walked on. Pen caught up with him, tugging on his arm. "What is it?"
"I took a walk yesterday when you were working."
"A walk."
"Yup."
"Had you shifted?"
"Yes, I had."
Pen caught his humor, although she couldn't understand its origins.
"And?"
"I may have used their freshwater reserves as a latrine. And then encouraged the other skinwalkers to do the same."
She giggled like a little girl being told a dirty joke.
"That's remarkably crude."
"I like to think of it as clever and resourceful."
"That, too. ~ Ellen Connor
The Tru Sum quotes by Ellen Connor
What I'm above all primarily concerned with is the substance of life, the pith of reality. If I had to sum up my work, I suppose that's it really: I'm taking the pith out of reality. ~ Alan Bennett
The Tru Sum quotes by Alan Bennett
As you take leave of [your school], as you graduate into a new life of the mind, may each of you ask yourself this: What am I doing to increase the sum hope of the world? ... What am I doing to teach someone else what I have learned? ~ Arthur F. Burns
The Tru Sum quotes by Arthur F. Burns
So how do you unify a secure, wealthy country that has sunk into a zero-sum political game with itself? ~ Sebastian Junger
The Tru Sum quotes by Sebastian Junger
You don't get to pick your family, but you can pick your teachers and you can pick your friends and you can pick the music you listen to and you can pick the books you read and you can pick the movies you see. You are, in fact, a mashup of what you choose to let into your life. You are the sum of your influences. The German writer Goethe said, We are shaped and fashioned by what we love. ~ Austin Kleon
The Tru Sum quotes by Austin Kleon
Cooking fills me with a dread I can only describe as the sum total of every negative feeling I've ever had about myself. It takes my chronic impatience, divides it by my inherent laziness, and multiplies it to the power of my deepest self-loathing. ~ Meghan Daum
The Tru Sum quotes by Meghan Daum
Smoked sausage and a jolly tupping. Ale and folly. Fickle bosoms and bar fights. That is the sum of experiences my souls gathered from their lives. Why do I attract all the unsophisticated fancy men? For once could one love the opera and his mother?
- Lucinda Myer, b. 1702-d. 1808 ~ Amber Kizer
The Tru Sum quotes by Amber Kizer
But she couldn't dismiss easily his light touch with her. No pushing or pressing, none of that herding and corralling bullshit, unlike any of her old boyfriends. And maybe who you fell for and who you eventually loved wasn't rational, no matter how hard you tried to list pros and cons and sum the results. You couldn't think your way through it, not all the way. Maybe just the scent of somebody carried more weight than everything else put together. ~ Charles Frazier
The Tru Sum quotes by Charles Frazier
The entire merit of a man can never be made known; nor the sum of his demerits, if he have them. We are only known by our names; as letters sealed up, we but read each other's superscriptions. ~ Herman Melville
The Tru Sum quotes by Herman Melville
This is the sum of duty: do naught to others which if done to thee, would cause thee pain. ~ Vyasa
The Tru Sum quotes by Vyasa
We are the sum total of the decisions we have made. ~ E.A. Bucchianeri
The Tru Sum quotes by E.A. Bucchianeri
The sum of a man's problems come from his inability to be alone in a silent room. ~ Blaise Pascal
The Tru Sum quotes by Blaise Pascal
But we are more than the sum of our parts, and we are more than the numbers on our scales. Be like me and judge people by the decisions they make with their eyebrows. That's way more important. ~ Luvvie Ajayi
The Tru Sum quotes by Luvvie Ajayi
Man is not the sum of what he has already, but rather the sum of what he does not yet have, of what he could have. ~ Jean-Paul Sartre
The Tru Sum quotes by Jean-Paul Sartre
Love?" Michael smiled down at his hands. "Love, real love, is being seen. Being known. Knowing the ugliest part of someone, and loving them anyway. And . . . I guess I think two people in love become something else, something more than the sum of their parts, you know? That it must be like you're creating a new world that exists just for the two of you. You're gods of your own pocket universe." He laughed a little then, as if he felt foolish. "That must sound ridiculous."
"No," Robert said, the truth dawning over him. Michael didn't talk like someone who was guessing - he talked like someone who knew. ~ Cassandra Clare
The Tru Sum quotes by Cassandra Clare
The enemy of teamwork is individualism. As a team, the whole has to be greater than the sum of every individual part. The only way to do that is to work together. You can go a lot farther pulling together than you can with individual people pulling separately. ~ Jeff Duke
The Tru Sum quotes by Jeff Duke
It is painful enough to discover with what unconcern they speak of war and threaten it. I have seen enough of it to make me look upon it as the sum of all evils. ~ Stonewall Jackson
The Tru Sum quotes by Stonewall Jackson
Some people are comfortable talking about their lives, as if they can make sense of the progression of random events that made them what they are. This involves a kind of forward-looking faith in life; a conviction that cause and effect are linked, and that they are themselves more than the sum of their past. ~ Anna Funder
The Tru Sum quotes by Anna Funder
Knowing less than the sum of what I remembered and forgot, only blank, preciously empty but for pleasure. ~ C.D. Reiss
The Tru Sum quotes by C.D. Reiss
The further on we go, the more meaning there is, but the less articulable. You live your life and the older you get- the more specifically you harvest- the more precious becomes every ounce and spasm. Your life and times don't drain of meaning because they become more contradictory, ornamented by paradox, inexplicable. The less explicable, the more meaning. The less like a mathematics equation (a sum game); the more like music (significant secret). ~ Gregory Maguire
