There is something self-destructive about Western technology and distribution. Whenever any consumer object is so excellent that it attracts a devoted following, some of the slide rule and computer types come in on their twinkle toes and take over the store, and in a trice they figure out just how far they can cut quality and still increase market penetration. Their reasoning is that it is idiotic to make and sell a hundred thousand units of something and make 30 cents a unit when you can increase the advertising, sell five million units, and make a nickel profit a unit. Thus, the very good things of the world go down the drain, from honest turkey to honest eggs to honest tomatoes. And gin. ~ John D. MacDonald
The Slide quotes by John D. MacDonald
I concentrate on what I am going to say to Vivi, instead of thinking of Cardan. I do not want to consider what happened between us. I do not want to think about the way his muscles moved or how his skin felt or the soft gasping sounds he made or the slide of his mouth against mine.

I definitely don't want to think about how hard I had to bite my own lip to keep quiet. Or how obvious it was that I'd never done any of the things we did, no less the things we didn't do. ~ Holly Black
The Slide quotes by Holly Black
The call that always seemed the toughest to me was the slide and tag play at second. You can see it coming, but you don't know which way the runner is going to slide, where the throw is going to be, and how the fielder is going to take the throw. ~ Cal Hubbard
The Slide quotes by Cal Hubbard
Only a drummer-boy in a ballad or a story could have been so in the thick of the fight. She was taken into the confidence of passions on which she fixed just the stare she might have had for images bounding across the wall in the slide of a magic-lantern. Her little world was phantasmagoric - strange shadows dancing on a sheet. It was as if the whole performance had been given for her - a mite of a half-scared infant in a great dim theatre. She was in short introduced to life with a liberality in which the selfishness of others found its account, and there was nothing to avert the sacrifice but the modesty of her youth. ~ Henry James
The Slide quotes by Henry James
And science is about facts, and morality is about values. They are not the same thing and they don't grow together. No one can find a value on the slide of a microscope. ~ Louis De Bernieres
The Slide quotes by Louis De Bernieres
The developed world should neither shelter nor militarily destabilize authoritarian regimes unless those regimes represent an imminent threat to the national security of other states. Developed states should instead work to create the conditions most favorable for a closed regime's safe passage through the least stable segment of the J curve however and whenever the slide toward instability comes. And developed states should minimize the risk these states pose the rest of the world as their transition toward modernity begins. ~ Ian Bremmer
The Slide quotes by Ian Bremmer
As for the human case, the generation of men come and go and are in eternity no more than bacteria upon a luminous slide, and the fall of a republic or the rise of an empire - so significant to those involved - are not detectable upon the slide even were there an interested eye to behold that steadily proliferating species which would either end in time or, with luck, become something else, since change is the nature of life, and its hope. ~ Gore Vidal
The Slide quotes by Gore Vidal
In our society we have hard nerds and soft nerds. The hard nerds are the ones who used to have the slide rules at their belt; now they have calculators. The soft nerds are the ones who get violently ill whenever anybody mentions an integral sign. ~ Alan Kay
The Slide quotes by Alan Kay
[Tess] "Your penis has forgotten we're divorced," she muttered.
"My penis always had a thing for you," he said.
The way the words rumbled in his chest, vibrated against her back, shouldn't have turned her on, but her body remembered him, too, the fit of him, the slide of him, the way he fit, just right. Better than the damn vibrator, which didn't include his weight over her, his hands on her body, his mouth on her breasts. ~ M.J. Fredrick
The Slide quotes by M.J. Fredrick
Facebook, from what I can tell, is the virtual equivalent of dropping into the homes of several million people, all of whom say at the same time: 'Hey! Let's set up the slide projector!' ~ Linwood Barclay
The Slide quotes by Linwood Barclay
The eight-man expedition was pinned down in a ferocious blizzard high on K2, waiting to make an assault on the summit, when a team member named Art Gilkey developed thrombophlebitis, a life-threatening altitude-induced blood clot. Realising that they would have to get Gilkey down immediately to have any hope of saving him, Schoening and the others started lowering him down the mountain's steep Abruzzi Ridge as the storm raged. At 25,000 feet, a climber named George Bell slipped and pulled four others off with him. Reflexively wrapping the rope around his shoulders and ice ax, Schoening somehow managed to single-handedly hold on to Gilkey and simultaneously arrest the slide of the five falling climbers without being pulled off the mountain himself. One of the more incredible feats in the annals of mountaineering, it was known forever after simply as The Belay. ~ Jon Krakauer
The Slide quotes by Jon Krakauer
The connection between dopamine and belief was established by experiments conducted by Peter Brugger and his colleague Christine Mohr at the University of Bristol in England. Exploring the neurochemistry of superstition, magical thinking, and belief in the paranormal, Brugger and Mohr found that people with high levels of dopamine are more likely to find significance in coincidences and pick out meaning and patterns where there are none. In one study, for example, they compared twenty self-professed believers in ghosts, gods, spirits, and conspiracies to twenty self-professed skeptics of such claims. They showed all subjects a series of slides consisting of people's faces, some of which were normal while others had their parts scrambled, such as swapping out eyes or ears or noses from different faces. In another experiment, real and scrambled words were flashed. In general, the scientists found that the believers were much more likely than the skeptics to mistakenly assess a scrambled face as real, and to read a scrambled word as normal.
In the second part of the experiment, Brugger and Mohr gave all forty subjects L-dopa, the drug used for Parkinson's disease patients that increases the levels of dopamine in the brain. They then repeated the slide show with the scrambled or real faces and words. The boost of dopamine caused both believers and skeptics to identify scrambled faces and real and jumbled words as normal. This suggests that patternicity may be associated with ~ Michael Shermer
The Slide quotes by Michael Shermer
If American politics does not look to you like a joke, a tragic dance; if you have enough blindness left in you, on any plea, on any excuse, to vote for the Democratic Party or the Republican Party (for at present machine and party are one), or for any candidate who does not stand for a new era,
then you yourself pass into the slide of the magic-lantern; you are an exhibit, a quaint product, a curiosity of the American soil. You are part of the problem. ~ John Jay Chapman
The Slide quotes by John Jay Chapman
Dolphins felt top-heavy, that year, most of the time, and wanted to lie down. When their heads weren't on top they still felt top-heavy, but metaphysically. In public places they felt sad. They went into restrooms, hugged themselves, and quietly went, 'Eeeee eee eeee.' Weekends they went to playgrounds alone. They sat in the top of slides - the enclosed part, where it glowed a little because of the colored plastic - and felt very alert and awake but also very sad and immature. Sometimes they fell asleep and a boy's mother would prod the dolphin with a broom and the dolphin would go down the slide while still asleep. At the bottom they would feel ashamed and go home and lie in bed. They felt so sad that they believed a little that it was their year to be sad, which made them feel better in a devastated, hollowed-out way. Life was too sad and it was beautiful to really feel it for once; to be allowed to feel it, for one year. When dolphins had these thoughts, usually on weekends at night, it was like dreaming, like a pink flower in a soft breeze on a field was lightly dreaming them. The sadness was like a pink forest that got less dense as you went in and then changed into a field, which the dolphins walked into alone. Sometimes the sadness was like a knife against the face. It made the dolphins cry and not want to move. But sometimes a young dolphin would feel very lonely and ugly and it was beautiful how alone it felt, and it would become restless with how perfect and elegant ~ Tao Lin
The Slide quotes by Tao Lin
And then, with a shock like high-voltage coursing through me, the phone beside me started pealing thinly.

I just stood there and stared at it, blood draining from my face. A call to a tollbooth? It must, it must be a wrong number, somebody wanted the Information Booth or-! It must have been audible outside, with all I had the slide partly closed. One of the redcaps passing by turned, looked over, then started coming across toward where I was. To get rid of him I picked up the receiver, put it to my ear.

'You'd better come out now, time's up,' a flat, deadly voice said. 'They're calling your train, but you're not getting on that one - or any other.'

'Wh-where are talking from?'

'The next booth to yours,' the voice jeered. 'You forgot the glass inserts only reach halfway down.'

The connection broke and a man's looming figure was shadowing the glass in front of my eyes, before I could even get the receiver back on the hook. I dropped it full-length, tensed my right arm to pound it through his face as soon as I shoved the glass aside. He had a revolver-bore for a top vest-button, trained on me. Two more had shown up behind him, from which direction I hadn't noticed. It was very dark in the booth now, their collective silhouettes shut out all the daylight. The station and all its friendly bustle was blotted out, had receded into the far background, a thousand miles away for all the help it could give me. I slapped the glass ~ Cornell Woolrich
The Slide quotes by Cornell Woolrich
I focused on the gun. I would show what him what needed to be done. Like you even know what to do with that, mocked Tucker.
I glanced dwon, flicking the safety off. It's a nine millimeter, isn't it. I just pull back the slide, aim and fire. With a steady hand, I chambered the first round. Click. ~ Kristen Simmons
The Slide quotes by Kristen Simmons
We had a dog who was named Pushinka, who was given to my father by a Soviet official. And we trained that dog to slide down the slide we had in the back of the White House. Sliding the dog down that slide is probably my first memory. ~ John F. Kennedy
The Slide quotes by John F. Kennedy
Matt lead those kids through a whole cycle of emotions, from fear to anger, from anger to hate, from hate to hope. It was somewhat sanitized, somewhat canned and rehearsed, but it was marketing genius. I knew how to kill people. Matt knew how to convince people to want to kill. I'm pretty sure that there's more blood on his hands than on mine. I remember leaving the meeting when I was sixteen - frothing at the mouth, ready to start killing. The meeting gave me a purpose. I was sixteen. All I wanted was a purpose. Now, I sat watching Matt's little presentation and felt nothing. Now I had my own reasons for hating the enemy. I didn't need the slide show anymore. War will do that to you. ~ Trevor Shane
The Slide quotes by Trevor Shane
Any communitys arm of force - military, police, security - needs people in it who can do necessary evil, and yet not be made evil by it. To do only the necessary and no more. To constantly question the assumptions, to stop the slide into atrocity. ~ Lois McMaster Bujold
The Slide quotes by Lois McMaster Bujold
As if their actions were synchronized, they both jumped off the swings at the same moment, Jay racing toward the laddered steps as Violet rushed to reach the bottom of the slide. ~ Kimberly Derting
The Slide quotes by Kimberly Derting
I also generally play slide guitar in standard tuning, which enables me to switch back and forth between using the slide and fretting notes and chords conventionally without having to relearn the fretboard, as one must do when playing in an open tuning. ~ Warren Haynes
The Slide quotes by Warren Haynes
You bastard, he thought, almost affectionately, watching the minuscule protoplasm fluttering on the slide. You dirty little bastard. ~ Richard Matheson
The Slide quotes by Richard Matheson
You know" - Hale's breath was warm against Kat's ear in the chilly ballroom- "I don't know that both of us really have to be here ... "
The slide changed. While hundreds of mathematicians waited with baited breath, the boy beside Kat whispered,
"I could go make some calls ... check on some things ... "
"Play some blackjack?"
"Well, when in Rome ... "
"Rome is tomorrow, babe," Kat reminded him.
He nodded. "Right. ~ Ally Carter
The Slide quotes by Ally Carter
The philosophical arguments in favor of man's ability to resist the slide into barbarism sound noble and rational in a classroom or at a cocktail party. But when the enemy is bearing down, bent on taking your life away from you, it's not his country against your country, not his army against your army, not his philosophy against your philosophy-it's the fact that that son-of-a-bitch is trying to kill you and you'd better kill him first. ~ Frederick Downs Jr.
The Slide quotes by Frederick Downs Jr.
What's a „culture"? Look it up. „A group of micro-organisms grown in a nutrient substance under controlled conditions". A squirm of germs on a glass slide is all, a laboratory experiment calling itself a society. Most of us wrigglers make do with life on the slide; we even agree to feel proud of that „culture". Like slaves voting for slavery or brains for lobotomy, we kneel down before the god of all moronic micro-organisms and pray to be homogenized or killed or engineered; we promise to obey. ~ Salman Rushdie
The Slide quotes by Salman Rushdie
Women are hungry for things of the Spirit, for truths that counter the slide of virtues all around them. Visiting teaching is a measure of the heart, an unselfish work, a sacred trust that blesses both giver and receiver. ~ Bonnie D. Parkin
The Slide quotes by Bonnie D. Parkin
He took the slide of and, before she could stop him, removed the glass top and licked the sample.
She fought the urge to gag. He didn't seem at all bothered. He stood quite still, closing his eyes, and then said, "Hmmm. A bit salty, bitter aftertaste ... iron ... hydroxide." He smiled then, and looked at her as if he was quite proud of himself. "Definitely iron hydroxide. That is a binding agent, is it not?"
"You are insane," she said. "You can't go around ... licking things that come out of a water treatment plant. That's just ... unsanitary."
"Life is unsanitary," he said. ~ Rachel Caine
The Slide quotes by Rachel Caine
The Dead Father was slaying, in a grove of music and musicians. First he slew a harpist and then a performer upon the serpent and also a banger upon the rattle and also a blower of the Persian trumpet and one upon the Indian trumpet and one upon the Hebrew trumpet and one upon the Roman trumpet and one upon the Chinese trumpet of copper-covered wood. Also a blower upon the marrow trumpet and one upon the slide trumpet and one who wearing upon his head the skin of a cat performed upon the menacing murmurous cornu and three blowers on the hunting horn and several blowers of the conch shell and a player of the double aulos and flautists of all descriptions and a Panpiper and a fagotto player and two virtuosos of the quail whistle and a zampogna player whose fingering of the chanters was sweet to the ear and by-the-bye and during the rest period he slew four buzzers and a shawmist and one blower upon the water jar and a clavicytheriumist who was before he slew her a woman, and a stroker of the theorbo and countless nervous-fingered drummers as well as an archlutist, and then whanging his sword this way and that the Dead Father slew a cittern plucker and five lyresmiters and various mandolinists, and slew too a violist and a player of the kit and a picker of the psaltery and a beater of the dulcimer and a hurdy-gurdier and a player of the spike fiddle and sundry kettledrummers and a triangulist and two-score finger cymbal clinkers and a xylophone artist and two gongers and a playe ~ Donald Barthelme
The Slide quotes by Donald Barthelme
Normally Felicity liked to spend her recess holding the duty teacher's hand and tattling on kids who were breaking nitpicky safety rules like no climbing fences, no running up the slide, and no using the teeter-totter as a human catapult. - Zombiekins ~ Kevin Bolger
The Slide quotes by Kevin Bolger
A game of great charm in the adoption of mathematical measurements to the timing of human movements, the exactitudes and adjustments of physical ability to hazardous chance. The speed of the legs, the dexterity of the body, the grace of the swing, the elusiveness of the slide - these are the features that make Americans everywhere forget the last syllable of a man's last name or the pigmentation of his skin. ~ Branch Rickey
The Slide quotes by Branch Rickey
I used to go and do some sitting in with Robert Nighthawk when he were playing at the 708 Club in Chicago. He was a tremendous slideman. I never saw him do anything other than play the slide. I never just saw him just use his hand. He always used a slide. He had a little-bitty drummer we called "Shorty". He was about that high [hand gesture]. And he was his drummer. That's all he had was a slide guitar and a drummer. ~ Junior Wells
The Slide quotes by Junior Wells
No matter what heights you achieve, even if you're Brad Pitt, the slide is coming, sure as death and taxes. ~ James Caan
The Slide quotes by James Caan
I told her running away from your problems doesn't solve anything. Really it just hurts the people who count on you. ~ Kyle Beachy
The Slide quotes by Kyle Beachy
I said I don't want to know," Kailani said firmly, her voice suddenly too loud. Cristina sat back into the bench, her eyes wide and disappointed. Then Ana started waving wildly, her small hand arcing for her mother's undivided attention, and, as Kailani watched in silence, the child slipped safely down the slide."
Kailani to Cristina ~ Siobhan Fallon
The Slide quotes by Siobhan Fallon
Football is based on desperation. All clubs are desperate in one form or another - desperate to succeed, desperate to survive, desperate to stay where they are, desperate that things get no worse, desperate to arrest the slide. ~ Simon Barnes
The Slide quotes by Simon Barnes
The world was in truth made of jackstraws. The world was very combustible, the human body was partible in ways heretofore unimagined. What held the civilized world together was the thinnest tissue of nothing but human will. Civilization was not in the natural order but was some wort of willed invention held taut like a fabric or a sail against the chaos of the winds. And why we had invented it, or how we knew to invent it, was beyond him.
Newmann had seen some truth that was completely out of his power to put into words. But he had come away knowing that even though the world of civilization was made of straw and lantern slides, he must live in it as if it were solid. Even when the heat of the lantern itself burnt away the illusions and a black hole appeared in the middle of the slide. ~ Paulette Jiles
The Slide quotes by Paulette Jiles
He ... boasted an unassuming mustache, which was perched atop his upper lip cautiously, as though it were slightly embarrassed to be there and would like to slide away and become a sideburn or something more fashionable. ~ Gail Carriger
The Slide quotes by Gail Carriger
Thomas grins, grabs her hand, and kisses it. Since they just got back together, I'm willing to let this PDA business slide. ~ Kendare Blake
The Slide quotes by Kendare Blake
All I want to do is kiss you until I fall asleep. I want to slide in between your sheets, and find out what goes on inside your head, and underneath your clothes. I want to make a fool of myself over you. Mr. ~ Sally Thorne
The Slide quotes by Sally Thorne
I bet you can't play slide piano. ~ Jimmy Page
The Slide quotes by Jimmy Page
Be hole, be dust, be dream, be wind/Be night, be dark, be wish, be mind,/Now slip, now slide, now move unseen,/Above, beneath, betwixt, between. ~ Neil Gaiman
The Slide quotes by Neil Gaiman
Surprisingly, Robert's bare, lubed, thin cock didn't slide into his lover's hole easily. It stopped an inch in, jammed like Pooh in Rabbit's front door. ~ Edward Southgate
The Slide quotes by Edward Southgate
Stories are propaganda, virii that slide past your critical immune system and insert themselves directly into your emotions. ~ Cory Doctorow
The Slide quotes by Cory Doctorow
After a leisurely slide into second, Joe bounced to his feet, looked at Marichal, shrugged, smiled, and spread his arms as if to say, You throw at me, I'll make you pay. ~ John Grisham
The Slide quotes by John Grisham
Remember that progress is not linear either. Sometimes you make great progress for a while and then you slide back a little. That's OK. Don't give up. ~ Lee Labrada
The Slide quotes by Lee Labrada
People permit life to slide past them like a deft pickpocket, their purse-not yet missed and now too late-in his hand. ~ Edna Ferber
The Slide quotes by Edna Ferber
That hard soldier's body made her want to do all sorts of deliciously erotic things _ she wondered if he had enough flesh on him to bite or if her teeth would slide off. ~ Nalini Singh
The Slide quotes by Nalini Singh
An undisturbed river is as perfect as we will ever know, every refractive slide of cold water a glimpse of eternity. ~ Thomas McGuane
The Slide quotes by Thomas McGuane
With slide guitar, you're just hanging this piece of glass on your hand. It's a really beautiful instrument in that it's so responsive, you're just slipping your hand back and forth. ~ Bonnie Raitt
The Slide quotes by Bonnie Raitt
But wild Ambition loves to slide, not stand, And Fortune's ice prefers to Virtue's land. ~ John Dryden
The Slide quotes by John Dryden
No more than six words on a slide. Ever. There is no presentation so complex that this rule needs to be broken. ~ Seth Godin
The Slide quotes by Seth Godin
[In my dream] they slide their lips over my skin, whispering whispering whispering. They tell me their names, they tell me their lives, they tell me their pain ... I can't struggle, I can't stop laughing, I can't resist these people who once were. ~ Carrie Ryan
The Slide quotes by Carrie Ryan
Not that kind of proof, Kyber. Come on, Buck Rogers got a ride in a flying car, and all I get is a slide show and a history lesson? It's going to take more than this to convince me that I slept for almost two centuries. ~ Susan Grant
The Slide quotes by Susan Grant
Men made life far too difficult when they insisted on neatly categorizing their emotions. When emotions became complicated, they brooded and struggled so mightily in an attempt to simplify them again - when, given time, everything would sort itself out and slide into its place. ~ Meljean Brook
The Slide quotes by Meljean Brook
There you go ... let it all slide out. Unhappiness can't stick in a person's soul when it's slick with tears. ~ Shannon Hale
The Slide quotes by Shannon Hale
Yeah, I'm going to need a leather jacket for when I'm on my hog and need to go into a controlled slide. ~ George Michael
The Slide quotes by George Michael
There was no reply. So Z glanced over again - just as a tear slide down Phury's cheek.
"Ah ... fuck," Z muttered.
"Yeah. Pretty much." Another tear rolled out of Phury's eye. "God ... damn. I'm leaking."
"Okay, brace yourself."
Phury scrubbed his face with his palms. "Why?"
"Because ... I think I'm going to try to hug you. ~ J.R. Ward
The Slide quotes by J.R. Ward
Let us not take offence over small cheese, let things slide off when they don't really matter, not take things personally, be free to make better use of our energy, to get on with something meaningful instead. ~ Jay Woodman
The Slide quotes by Jay Woodman
Jeremy Stoppelman started Yelp. Max Levchin started Slide. I started LinkedIn. It was a mininova explosion of folks jumping out to doing other entrepreneurial activities. ~ Reid Hoffman
The Slide quotes by Reid Hoffman
I know this will sound glib, but don't pretend you aren't feeling what you feel. That's how things slide into hell. Feelings are facts," she said, her voice a little hard, as she began to walk again. "Look straight at 'em and deal with 'em. Work it through, as honestly as you can. If ~ Mary Doria Russell
The Slide quotes by Mary Doria Russell
My activism has to do with my conscience; I cannot let certain things slide without doing something. My public speaking is part of an art form that is cultural. ~ Lee Maracle
The Slide quotes by Lee Maracle
I am offering you a real commitment - a place in my life forever. Even if our relationship ended, our tie to each other never would. Let me make you a vampire, Leila, and watch decades slide by like days while you're by my side. ~ Jeaniene Frost
The Slide quotes by Jeaniene Frost
Refuse to give up, your mistakes don't define you
They don't dictate where you're headed, they remind you ~ T.I. Harris
The Slide quotes by T.I. Harris
It isn't as if a writer merely records life as it unfurls. Reality does not automatically transcribe as literature; real people are not shapely, compelling characters to be harvested. Charming facts and sharp observations rarely slide seamlessly into whatever narrative is at hand. ~ Michelle Huneven
The Slide quotes by Michelle Huneven
You think to slide back, settle for something that made you run away because you think it's safe, because it's familiar, because your scare of taking a GAMBLE on me, I'm warning you now, Duchess, I'm not gonna allow that. ~ Kristen Ashley
The Slide quotes by Kristen Ashley
Miranda, there is nothing I would rather do that fuck you. She flinched at his bluntness and Ethan's frown darkened. Don't recoil from that word. It is exactly what I want. I don't want to make love to you like a gentleman. I want to pound into you. I want to tie you down and make you beg. I want to lick every inch of your body until you're so wet with need that I almost slide out of you on every damned stroke. ~ Jess Michaels
The Slide quotes by Jess Michaels
Shit! Raine, if you do that again, I'm going to come all over you."
"I'm sorry!"
"Don't be," I growled, nuzzling against her nipple with my lips. "It feels so good ... your little hand trying to hold on to me."
"I still don't know how you're going to fit," she whispered, stroking me slowly again.
"I'm going to make you come," I told her. "Then you are going to be so wet and ready for me, I'm going to just slide right into you. ~ Shay Savage
The Slide quotes by Shay Savage
Do you like to slide?" His voice was eager.
Stair rails! Did he suspect me? I forced a sigh. "No, Majesty. I'm terrified of heights."
"Oh." His polite tone had returned.
"I wish I could enjoy it. This fear of heights is an affliction."
He nodded, a show of sympathy but not much interest. I was losing him.
"Especially," I added, "as I've grown taller. ~ Gail Carson Levine
The Slide quotes by Gail Carson Levine
Rather than respond to his incalculable God-ness with our slide rules and flowcharts, we would do better to worship him with reverence and awe. ~ Matt Chandler
The Slide quotes by Matt Chandler
Before digital, I spent thirty years shooting color transparencies, which are very unforgiving of exposure. A half stop can make or break a good photo on slide film. ~ Peter Menzel
The Slide quotes by Peter Menzel
Stop." He shuddered, his eyes dark. "I can still feel you on my tongue. It's taking everything in me not to slide to my knees and see where else I can lick you. Damn near everywhere, in this dress. It's nothing but leather straps and sass. ~ Kit Rocha
The Slide quotes by Kit Rocha
He's adorably high-handed where you're concerned, isn't he?"

My eyes slide closed. "With anyone."

"No," he says thoughtfully. "Only you. He really can't be bothered with anyone else, unless they're connected to you. You're all he sees. ~ Lily Morton
The Slide quotes by Lily Morton
My other big mistake was letting it slide when she promised me a cut of her earnings. Because it turns out not many people want to stroll through head-high piles of scrap metal and rusty baby buggies down a path lined with artificial yucca plants to have their fortune told by a chain-smoking butterball in a dirty pink sweat suit. If I had thought about it long and hard enough I could've predicted that myself. ~ Kerry-Lee Powell
The Slide quotes by Kerry-Lee Powell
Why do you think there's only a single stairway to heaven, but an entire highway to hell? Because it's a lot easier to slide down then climb up, and it takes a whole lot less energy to boot. ~ Sherrilyn Kenyon
The Slide quotes by Sherrilyn Kenyon
With 'Blue Slide Park' I wanted to have a number one album, and I did do it, so I'm not mad at it, but that was its goal. ~ Mac Miller
The Slide quotes by Mac Miller
It's great to be able to just go with an idea and not have 10 people in a room telling me why I can't write in a huge mud slide at a school function with 50 kindergartners running around. ~ Maria Semple
The Slide quotes by Maria Semple
At that moment of realization (that union with God is always present), that's when God let me go, let me slide through His fingers with this last compassionate, unspoken message:
You may return here once you have fully come to understand that you are always here. ~ Elizabeth Gilbert
The Slide quotes by Elizabeth Gilbert
I'm more of a rhythmic player. My soloing is pretty much limited to playing slide guitar. ~ George Thorogood
The Slide quotes by George Thorogood
Raffe holds me a second longer than necessary before he puts me down. And then it takes me a second longer than necessary to slide my arms away from his neck. ~ Susan Ee
The Slide quotes by Susan Ee
I would rather believe something and suffer for it, than to slide along into success without opinions. ~ James A. Garfield
The Slide quotes by James A. Garfield
When a manic-depressive personality begins to slide deeply into a depressive period, he had written, one symptom he or she may exhibit is acts of self-punishment: slapping, punching, pinching, burning one's self w/ cigarette butts, ~ Stephen King
