Snowboarding's tough, because you've got to go to the mountains. For me, I love the skateboard season because I get to hangout at home and still be skating. I don't have to travel to Norway or Japan or these crazy places to be snowboarding. ~ Shaun White

Quit playing, start praying. Quit feasting, start fasting. Talk less with men, talk more with God. Listen less to men, listen to the words of God. Skip travel, start travail. ~ Leonard Ravenhill
Terrain Travel quotes by Leonard Ravenhill
Maybe we should live our lives in a constant state of expectation, always curious and excited about the possibilities that could unfold in front of us. Maybe it is our sense of vision that colors our reality. ~ Allison Fallon

Terrain Travel quotes by John Berger
The greatest pleasure does not consist in experiencing new things, but in savoring the infinite variation of what we already know ~ Federico Castigliano
Terrain Travel quotes by Federico Castigliano
A review of summit day photographs will show that I was clothed in the latest, highest quality, high altitude gear, comparable, if not better, than that worn by the other members of our expedition. ~ Anatoli Boukreev
Terrain Travel quotes by Anatoli Boukreev

Terrain Travel quotes by Robert Hughes
In some ways, there's no typical day with all the shoots and travel and projects, but I do try and stop by my studio every day. ~ Garance Dore
Terrain Travel quotes by Garance Dore
I believe in leavening. You can't have words sticking out too much, like promontories. They disturb the density. You have to flatten them, or raise the surrounding terrain. ~ Ben Okri
Terrain Travel quotes by Ben Okri
When the history books are written in a thousand years, when space travel would have become routine, the moment that humans first left Earth will be of huge importance. Star City is a central part of this story and it deserves more recognition. ~ Helen Sharman
Terrain Travel quotes by Helen Sharman
For me they go hand in hand. When I travel it makes me want to write, when I read it makes me want to travel. ~ William Dalrymple
Terrain Travel quotes by William Dalrymple

Terrain Travel quotes by Henry Rollins
As late as the seventeenth century, monarchs owned so little furniture that they had to travel from palace to palace with wagon-loads of plate and bedspreads, of carpets and tapestries. ~ Aldous Huxley
Terrain Travel quotes by Aldous Huxley
Peter Conners stunning prose poems are packed with keen sensitivity, dreaminess, and wit. I love his time travels, the vibrant layering of image and detail. Try taking walks as you are reading this book- the dazzle of landscapes, inner and outer, feel replenished and rich. This is language and vision I want to come home to again and again. ~ Naomi Shihab Nye
Terrain Travel quotes by Naomi Shihab Nye
When you climb my favorite Welsh mountain, the highest outside Snowdonia, by my favorite route, there are two places where you are sure you are seeing the top ahead of you; but when you get to the point you saw, you find it was only a fold in the terrain, and the real summit is still a distance away. That is a good illustration of how Christian ministry feels in all its forms. ~ J.I. Packer
Terrain Travel quotes by J.I. Packer
I once found myself conspiring with a British Cabinet Minister as to how we might persuade Her Majesty's Treasury to cough up more money for the British Travel advertising in America. Said he, "Why does any American in his senses spend his vacation in the cold damp of an English summer when he could equally well bask under Italian skies? I can only suppose that your advertising is the answer." Damn right. ~ David Ogilvy
Terrain Travel quotes by David Ogilvy
We should explore new ways to drive down the cost of space travel. instead of costly booster rockets, maybe we should think of laser/microwave driven rockets, or space elevators. Until then, the cost of space exploration will limit our ability to explore the universe. ~ Michio Kaku
Terrain Travel quotes by Michio Kaku
It was hard to get lost in Missoula even if you wanted to. Wherever you were, all you had to do to get your bearings was look around and find the big letter M, embossed in white halfway up the steep shoulder of grass that reared on the south bank of the Clark Fork River. Though only a hill, it was called Mount Sentinel and if you had the legs and lungs and inclination to hike the trail that zigzagged up it, you could stand by the M and gaze out across the town at a travel-brochure shot of forest and mountain dusted from early fall with snow. ~ Nicholas Evans
Terrain Travel quotes by Nicholas Evans
Curiosity-inspired questions bring clarity to your heart and help you see the pathway you're meant to travel. ~ Kami Guildner
Terrain Travel quotes by Kami Guildner
Paint me a small railroad station then, ten minutes before dark. Beyond the platform are the waters of the Wekonsett River, reflecting a somber afterglow. The architecture of the station is oddly informal, gloomy but unserious, and mostly resembles a pergola, cottage or summer house although this is a climate of harsh winters. The lamps along the platform burn with a nearly palpable plaintiveness. The setting seems in some way to be at the heart of the matter. We travel by plane, oftener than not, and yet the spirit of our country seems to have remained a country of railroads. You wake in a pullman bedroom at three a.m. in a city the name of which you do not know and may never discover. A man stands on the platform with a child on his shoulders. They are waving goodbye to some traveler, but what is the child doing up so late and why is the man crying? On a siding beside the platform there is a lighted dining car where a waiter sits alone at a table, adding up his accounts. Beyond this is a water tower and beyond this a well-lighted and empty street. Then you think happily that this is your country - unique, mysterious and vast. ~ John Cheever
Terrain Travel quotes by John Cheever
I know, I said reflexively, but I didn't. I didn't want to be normal. I wanted to be extraordinary. I wanted to write novels and make films and speak ten languages and travel around the world. ~ Joanna Rakoff
Terrain Travel quotes by Joanna Rakoff
It's wonderful to travel with somebody that you love and we never travel anywhere without one another. ~ Roger Moore
Terrain Travel quotes by Roger Moore
Since this often seems to come up in discussions of the radical style, I'll mention one other gleaning from my voyages. Beware of Identity politics. I'll rephrase that: have nothing to do with identity politics. I remember very well the first time I heard the saying "The Personal Is Political." It began as a sort of reaction to defeats and downturns that followed 1968: a consolation prize, as you might say, for people who had missed that year. I knew in my bones that a truly Bad Idea had entered the discourse. Nor was I wrong. People began to stand up at meetings and orate about how they 'felt', not about what or how they thought, and about who they were rather than what (if anything) they had done or stood for. It became the replication in even less interesting form of the narcissism of the small difference, because each identity group begat its sub-groups and "specificities." This tendency has often been satirised - the overweight caucus of the Cherokee transgender disabled lesbian faction demands a hearing on its needs - but never satirised enough. You have to have seen it really happen. From a way of being radical it very swiftly became a way of being reactionary; the Clarence Thomas hearings demonstrated this to all but the most dense and boring and selfish, but then, it was the dense and boring and selfish who had always seen identity politics as their big chance.
Anyway, what you swiftly realise if you peek over the wall of your own immediate neighbourhood or envi ~ Christopher Hitchens
Terrain Travel quotes by Christopher Hitchens
Gravity is why there are suns and planets in the first place. It is practically God. ~ Mary Roach
Terrain Travel quotes by Mary Roach
WE
We feel the heat, and for a moment, We believe! Life is back. But this heat is intense, not gentle. Not submissive but searing. Painful.
We moan, scream, Our face cracking like gunfire ... like a whip. Thirty-five, one hundred. One hundred! ONE HUNDRED!
The fire consumes our wooden host. It burns, breaks, explodes. Releases Our remaining souls to travel to Our final resting places.
Or.
To find new places to hide.
And wait.
Touch me. ~ Lisa McMann
Terrain Travel quotes by Lisa McMann
In a nut shell, air travel is the worst part about touring. ~ Eric Burdon
Terrain Travel quotes by Eric Burdon
When I travel abroad, because I'm Columbian, I'm always one that they check twice and security and I'm the one that they open my bag and the one they pull to the side to check the visa. ~ Sofia Vergara
Terrain Travel quotes by Sofia Vergara
A pity it is evening, yet
I do love the water of this spring
seeing how clear it is, how clean;
rays of sunset gleam on it,
lighting up its ripples, making it
one with those who travel
the roads; I turn and face
the moon; sing it a song, then
listen to the sound of the wind
amongst the pines. ~ Li Bai
Terrain Travel quotes by Li Bai
What bothers me most about my teeth is that they don't travel loin south, don't sprout from the Mother Mouth. Vagina dentata, come closah, say high. ~ Virginia Petrucci
Terrain Travel quotes by Virginia Petrucci
Travel spins us round in two ways at once: It shows us the sights and values and issues that we might ordinarily ignore; but it also, and more deeply, shows us all the parts of ourselves that might otherwise grow rusty. ~ Pico Iyer
Terrain Travel quotes by Pico Iyer
Besides, Prague is famous for its many churches with gold-leaf covered domes. In the sunshine, Prague is golden. I fell in love for ever. At the end of the five day stay, the entire group boarded a train for Paris. Although my parents knew the time of my arrival, they could not travel on the ~ Pearl Fichman
Terrain Travel quotes by Pearl Fichman
I'd learned so much from traveling to familiar places that I figured I'd learn twice as much by going to a place I knew nothing about. ~ Gerry Abbey
Terrain Travel quotes by Gerry Abbey
What should I have known or written had I been a quiet, mercantile politician or a lord in waiting? A man must travel, and turmoil, or there is no existence. ~ Lord Byron
Terrain Travel quotes by Lord Byron
Travel causes some affliction of the eye, and after a while no place it rests looks like home. ~ Sean Russell
Terrain Travel quotes by Sean Russell
Once, when I was about ten, we were approaching the ranch after veering north to look at some pasturage when we saw a small barefoot boy racing along the hot road with terror in his face. My father just managed to stop him. Though incoherent with fear, the boy managed to inform us that his little brother had just drowned in the horse trough. My father grabbed the boy and we went racing up to the farmhouse, where the anguished mother, the drowned child in her arms, was sobbing, crying out in German, and rocking in a rocking chair. Fortunately the boy was not quite dead. My father managed to get him away from his mother long enough to stretch him out on the porch and squeeze the water out of him. In a while the boy began to belch dirty fluids and then to breathe again. The crisis past, we went on home. The graceful German mother brought my father jars of her best sauerkraut for many, many years. ~ Larry McMurtry
Terrain Travel quotes by Larry McMurtry
So how can you tell me you're lonely, and say for you that the sun don't shine? Let me take you by the hand, and lead you through the streets of London. I'll show you something to make you change your mind. ~ Ralph McTell
Terrain Travel quotes by Ralph McTell
What better way to get to know a culture than to go there and learn their sports? And I say to people who tell me they can't travel, 'How much did you spend at the mall this year? How many times did you eat out? Take that money and go.' ~ Dhani Jones
Terrain Travel quotes by Dhani Jones
Who knows, I have always lived one day at a time. Probably more adventure and excitement. ~ Rob Mariano
Terrain Travel quotes by Rob Mariano
I like to move around. I travel. I've driven across country by myself. ~ Joni Mitchell
Terrain Travel quotes by Joni Mitchell
How long's your vacation?"
A year. Maybe longer."
A year? What did you do? Win the lottery?"
Most americans we met on the road, or at least the ones without nose rings, had a hard time fathoming the idea of a year's travel. Australians and Germans would nod in "of course" approval. Our country men would fixate on language barriers or some hideous tropical disease. They'd talk about the nightmare scenario - a Third World appendectomy and not being able to tell the doctor to use clean needles. ~ Franz Wisner
Terrain Travel quotes by Franz Wisner
We're your legal advisors.'
Which they weren't, obviously. Reacher knew that. Army lawyers don't travel in pairs and breathe through their mouths. ~ Lee Child
