Imagine a school with children that can read or write, but with teachers who cannot, and you have a metaphor of the Information Age in which we live. ~ Peter Cochrane

Tallie Cochrane quotes by Thomas Cochrane
It's over," Keelie said.
Too bad. But I want you to know, I will always love you."
She narrowed her eyes and said, "When you look at me and say that, are you thinking of Dolly Parton or Whitney Houston?"
Burt Reynolds," he said.
She nearly spit out her coffee when she laughed, then she said, "That almost makes me want to try again. ~ Becky Cochrane
Tallie Cochrane quotes by Becky Cochrane
It's no surprise that a generation of women who were brought up being told that they were equal to men, that sexism, and therefore feminism, was dead, are starting to see through this. And while they're pissed off, they're also positive, bubbling with hope. One obvious outcome of being brought up to believe you're equal is that you're both very angry when you encounter misogyny, but also confident in your ability to tackle it. ~ Kira Cochrane
Tallie Cochrane quotes by Kira Cochrane
I make a living doing what I love doing, and it's what brings me joy. ~ Tom Cochrane
Tallie Cochrane quotes by Tom Cochrane
For those who are not familiar with 'the Saturnian configuration', the theory, bizarre in the extreme, can be reduced to its simplest form by positing that the planets Saturn, Venus, Mars and Earth were once much closer to each other. [..] I make no apologies here for the fact that this theory was constructed on the basis of the mytho-historical record rather than from astrophysical considerations. [..]
The reconstruction of this model, together with its attendant event-filled scenario, is the fruit of decades of research - first by David Talbott and myself, later by Ev Cochrane and now Wallace Thornhill. For me, the impetus for this derived directly from the writings of Dr Immanuel Velikovsky, even though it led to the complete abandonment of Velikovsky's own scenario. It has often been stated by those who now oppose Velikovsky's Worlds in Collision cosmic scheme that the good doctor might have been incorrect in details but correct in his overall reconstruction. As the years went by, I came to the opposite conclusion and now claim that Velikovsky was correct in details but entirely wrong in his overall presentation. He had the pieces correct but, unfortunately, displaced them in time. ~ Dwardu Cardona
Tallie Cochrane quotes by Dwardu Cardona
Australia and Canada were settled by adventurers, they had to break new ground. I think that is indelibly etched on our cultural spirit. ~ Tom Cochrane
Tallie Cochrane quotes by Tom Cochrane
Don't be a salary slave! If you are going to do anything in this world, you must start before you are forty, before your period of initiative has ended. Do it now! ~ Robert Cochrane
Tallie Cochrane quotes by Robert Cochrane
I didn't really care about sales figures. I just wanted to get things off my chest. ~ Tom Cochrane
Tallie Cochrane quotes by Tom Cochrane
It was her street, her neighborhood, her life. She knew that someday in the future it would not be hers anymore. But she would remember it, she would treasure it, she would miss it. She would hold it in her heart. She knew that someday she would look back at this very moment and miss it ... Never had life seemed more beautiful and more sad. ~ Mick Cochrane
Tallie Cochrane quotes by Mick Cochrane

Tallie Cochrane quotes by Rory Cochrane
When you're doing that TV thing, you're doing the same thing for years and years. You can fall into bad habits as an actor and I think it can take a toll on your ability to act, which I think is scary. ~ Rory Cochrane
Tallie Cochrane quotes by Rory Cochrane
The world is divided into two kinds of people, those who spend a great deal of time saving money, and those who spend a great deal of money saving time. ~ Peter Cochrane
Tallie Cochrane quotes by Peter Cochrane

Tallie Cochrane quotes by Mickey Cochrane
The breakthrough study was done by Dr. Peter Elwood and a team from the Cochrane Institute of Primary Care and Public Health, Cardiff University, United Kingdom, and released in December 2013. For thirty years, these researchers followed 2,235 men living in Caerphilly, Wales, aged 45 to 59, and observed the impact of five activities on their health and on whether they developed dementia or cognitive decline, heart disease, cancer, or early death. The Cardiff study was meticulous, examining the men at intervals over the thirty years, and if they showed signs of cognitive decline or dementia, they were sent for detailed clinical assessments of high quality. It overcame study design problems from eleven previous studies (discussed in the endnotes). Results showed that if the men did four or five of the following behaviors, their risk for cognitive (mental) decline and dementia (including Alzheimer's) fell by 60 percent: ~ Norman Doidge
Tallie Cochrane quotes by Norman Doidge

Tallie Cochrane quotes by Peter Cochrane
In East Bangor, Pennsylvania (population 800), there's a little diner named for the trolley that used to take people to the once-bustling steel town of Bethlehem. The proprietors have adorned the walls with photographs of other local things that are no more. There's one of the East Bangor band, a group of about twenty men and boys, in uniform, in front of a bandstand draped with bunting. There's also one of the Kaysers, a local baseball club, on the day of an exhibition ballgame against the Philadelphia Athletics. These were Connie Mack's A's, which team in those early 1930s featured Hall of Famers Jimmie Foxx, Mickey Cochrane, and Lefty Grove. How did a village of under a thousand people manage to have its own band? How did a cluster of slate-belt villages field a regular baseball club, apparently good enough to stay on the same field for nine innings with the Philadelphia Athletics? What ~ Anthony M. Esolen
Tallie Cochrane quotes by Anthony M. Esolen
