The protection guaranteed by the Amendments is much broader in scope. The makers of our Constitution undertook to secure conditions favorable to the pursuit of happiness. They recognized the significance of man's spiritual nature, of his feelings, and of his intellect. They knew that only a part of the pain, pleasure and satisfactions of life are to be found in material things. They sought to protect Americans in their beliefs, their thoughts, their emotions and their sensations. They conferred, as against the Government, the right to be let alone - the most comprehensive of rights and the right most valued by civilized men. To protect that right, every unjustifiable intrusion by the Government upon the privacy of the individual, whatever the means employed, must be deemed a violation of the Fourth Amendment. And the use, as evidence in a criminal proceeding, of facts ascertained by such intrusion must be deemed a violation of the Fifth.

[Olmstead v. United States, 277 U.S. 438 (1928) (dissenting)] ~ Louis D. Brandeis
Spiritual Nature quotes by Louis D. Brandeis
What you are, and who you are should provide greater clarity about where you have been and where you are headed. Although one distinguishes spiritual from physical nature, the ultimate unification of the two is the consequence of the struggle for internal, external and eternal – peace. ~ T.F. Hodge
Spiritual Nature quotes by T.F. Hodge
If we want sincere harmony, peace and joy in our lives, we can have them, but we must be willing to do the work. We must make maintaining an awareness of our spiritual natures first in our lives. Our inner world is the architect of our external world. We don't lose faith in the goodness of life because we become angry and depressed. We become angry and depressed because we lose faith in the goodness of life. ~ Susan L. Taylor
Spiritual Nature quotes by Susan L. Taylor
Let us say, in a word, that the correlation between the laws of mathematics and of physics is the evidence of the rational character of nature. Nature may be reduced to motions; and motions can be understood only as force, activity. But the laws which connect motions are fundamentally mathematical laws,- laws of reason. Hence force, activity, can be understood only as rational, as spiritual. Nature is thus seen to mean Activity, and Activity is seen to mean Intelligence ~ John Dewey
Spiritual Nature quotes by John Dewey
Assuming that man has a distinct spiritual nature, a soul, why should it be thought unnatural that under appropriate conditions of maladjustment, his soul might die before his body does; or that his soul might die without his knowing it? ~ Albert J. Nock
Spiritual Nature quotes by Albert J. Nock
History, as it lies at the root of all science, is also the first distinct product of man's spiritual nature, his earliest expression of what may be called thought. ~ Thomas Carlyle
Spiritual Nature quotes by Thomas Carlyle
The Bhagavad Gita deals essentially with the spiritual foundation of human existence. It is a call of action to meet the obligations and duties of life; yet keeping in view the spiritual nature and grander purpose of the universe. ~ Jawaharlal Nehru
Spiritual Nature quotes by Jawaharlal Nehru
It must never be forgotten that nothing that is really great in this world has ever been achieved by coalitions, but that it has always been the success of a single victor. Coalition successes bear by the very nature of their origin the germ of future crumbling, in fact of the loss of what has already been achieved. Great, truly world-shaking revolutions of a spiritual nature are not even conceivable and realizable except as the titanic struggles of individual formations, never as enterprises of coalitions. ~ Adolf Hitler
Spiritual Nature quotes by Adolf Hitler
I was looking for something within Judaism that had a spiritual nature and not just a religious nature. So my trainer at the time was the one who took me to the Kabbalah center on my 40th birthday. I was like, "Oh, this is so cool." I was just ready for it. I was ready for something different. ~ Sandra Bernhard
Spiritual Nature quotes by Sandra Bernhard
If humanism were right in declaring that man is born to be happy, he would not be born to die. Since his body is doomed to die, his task on earth evidently must be of a more spiritual nature. It cannot unrestrained enjoyment of everyday life. It cannot be the search for the best ways to obtain material goods and then cheerfully get the most out of them. It has to be the fulfillment of a permanent, earnest duty so that one's life journey may become an experience of moral growth, so that one may leave life a better human being than one started it. ~ Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Spiritual Nature quotes by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
In the Islamic tradition a distinction is made between two holy wars, the "greater holy war" (el-jihadul-akbar) and the "lesser holy war" (el-jihadul-ashgar). This distinction originated from a saying (hadith) of the Prophet, who on the way back from a military expedition said: "You have returned from a lesser holy war to a great holy war." The greater holy war is of an inner and spiritual nature; the other is the material war waged externally against an enemy population with the particular intent of bringing "infidel" populations under the rule of "God's Law" (al-Islam). The relationship between the "greater" and "lesser holy war", however, mirrors the relationship between the soul and the body; in order to understand the heroic asceticism or "path of action", it is necessary to understand the situation in which the two paths merge, the "lesser holy war" becoming the means through which a "greater holy war" is carried out, and vice versa: the "little holy war", or the external one, becomes almost a ritual action that expresses and gives witness to the reality of the first. Originally, orthodox Islam conceived of a unitary form of asceticism: that which is connected to the jihad or "holy war". ~ Julius Evola
Spiritual Nature quotes by Julius Evola
As there is no screen or ceiling between our heads and the infinite heavens, so is there no bar or wall in the soul where man, the effect, ceases, and God, the cause, begins. The walls are taken away. We lie open on one side to the deeps of spiritual nature, to the attributes of God. Justice we see and know, Love, Freedom, Power. These natures no man ever got above, but they tower over us, and most in the moment when our interests tempt us to wound them. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Spiritual Nature quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson
Poetry interprets in two ways: it interprets by expressing, with magical felicity, the physiognomy and movements of the outward world; and it interprets by expressing, with inspired conviction, the ideas and laws of the inward world of man's moral and spiritual nature. In other words, poetry is interpretative both by having natural magic in it, and by having moral profundity. ~ Matthew Arnold
Spiritual Nature quotes by Matthew Arnold
When you examine the lives of the most influential people who have ever walked among us, you discover one thread that winds through them all. They have been aligned first with their spiritual nature and only then with their physical selves. ~ Albert Einstein
Spiritual Nature quotes by Albert Einstein
Even if atheists were right
that prayer is wishful thinking
they are right only in relation to God, not in relation to wishing. The importance of prayer is that it is an expression of our spiritual nature, and when we wish for love, peace, for our own good and the good of others we define ourselves as more than flesh and blood. We define ourselves as hoping, loving, and imagining beings who crave to know the source of our being. ~ R. Joseph Hoffmann
Spiritual Nature quotes by R. Joseph Hoffmann
Surely there is a knowing behind it all. There is a teacher, an expresser, a creator, an artist perhaps, a poet certainly that has designed and presented all of the clues that we need to navigate life with some degree of grace, and perhaps with a greater degree of happiness than we now have. ~ Jeffrey R. Anderson
Spiritual Nature quotes by Jeffrey R. Anderson
Where men are forbidden to honour a king they honour millionaires, athletes, or film-stars instead: even famous prostitutes or gangsters. For spiritual nature, like bodily nature, will be served; deny it food and it will gobble poison. ~ C.S. Lewis
Spiritual Nature quotes by C.S. Lewis
One thing is clear to me, that no indulgence of passion destroys the spiritual nature so much as respectable selfishness. ~ George MacDonald
Spiritual Nature quotes by George MacDonald
The gross heathenism of civilization has generally destroyed nature, and poetry, and all that is spiritual. ~ John Muir
Spiritual Nature quotes by John Muir
It is our Spiritual nature to understand, accept and allow our human nature. ~ Maximus Freeman
Spiritual Nature quotes by Maximus Freeman
The mind is acquired "human nature". The conscience is inherent "spiritual nature". ~ Ian Gardner
Spiritual Nature quotes by Ian Gardner
When I think about the cause I'm most passionate about, it's all in my music all the time, because I'm always singing about the empowerment of women. Always, even when it's a little love song - it's still about the empowerment of women and this high spiritual nature of love. It's the biggest healer ever. ~ India.Arie
Spiritual Nature quotes by India.Arie
The balance and peace we seek for ourselves and our society won't be achieved through mental effort alone. Mind and spirit are meant to travel together, with spirit leading the way. Until we make a conscious commitment to understand and embrace our spiritual nature, we will endure the ache of living without the awareness and guidance of the most essential part of ourselves. ~ Susan L. Taylor
Spiritual Nature quotes by Susan L. Taylor
I really believe that an awakening, a greater perspective on our lives and existence is happening. It's really the firing of archetypes that are already built into our brains, we just are able to awaken to a point where we can see a greater beauty in the world, a greater connection and sense of well being. This is what the mystics speak about. The insights fire us up into a greater consciousness on the planet. So it is a greater consciousness at the same time and a greater awareness of our spiritual nature. That is what the 'aha' is. ~ James Redfield
Spiritual Nature quotes by James Redfield
All our inner life and intimacy of soul longs to find an outer mirror. It longs for a form in which it can be seen, felt, and touched. The body is the mirror where the secret world of the soul comes to expression. The body is a sacred threshold; and it deserves to be respected, minded, and understood in its spiritual nature. ~ John O'Donohue
Spiritual Nature quotes by John O'Donohue
It is clear that there is a very great deal to be learnt about the universe and the endless subtleties of its various manifestations. What about the moral side of man, or what people with a religious bent of mind would prefer to call the spiritual nature of man? How will this develop in the endless aeons of the future? Perhaps in most of these questions like Newton we are still standing on the shore while the great ocean of knowledge lies ahead. It is significant that after more than two centuries of the acquisition of knowledge eminent men of science still have similar feelings. ~ Jamal Nazrul Islam
Spiritual Nature quotes by Jamal Nazrul Islam
Strive to engage in activities that require constant self-development. Nurture and develop the physical body, but also our spiritual nature. We exist for a purpose: to honor our spirituality. When we do, we cannot help but love others. Hurting others is easily recognized as a crime against ourselves. It's no coincidence that all religions teach this at their core. ~ Janet M. Tavakoli
Spiritual Nature quotes by Janet M. Tavakoli
The desert is a spiritual place, we vaguely understand, and the sea the mere playground of our hedonism. ~ Tim Winton
Spiritual Nature quotes by Tim Winton
The solution for mankind is of a spiritual nature. It is not a political or religious solution. It's the ability to love each other. That's the only solution I see. ~ Ziggy Marley
Spiritual Nature quotes by Ziggy Marley
A few of the sublimest geniuses of Rome and Athens had some faint discoveries of the spiritual nature of the human soul, and formed some probable conjectures, that man was designed for a future state of existence. ~ David Brainerd
Spiritual Nature quotes by David Brainerd
Nothing but the cross of Christ can so startle the spiritual nature from its torpor, as to make it an effectual counterpoise to the debasing and sensual tendencies of the race. Favored by temperament and education, individuals may measurably escape; but if the race is to triumph in the conflict between the flesh and the spirit, between the lower propensities and the higher nature, they must, as Constantine is said to have done, see the cross, and on it the motto, "In hoc signo vinces." By this sign we conquer. ~ Mark Hopkins
Spiritual Nature quotes by Mark Hopkins
We have to realize that spirit is an infinite potential that includes everything. And all of our lives are proof that our spiritual nature contains everything at once - that we can become clear or confused, that we can act loving or cruel. How we act and feel depends on how awake we are, and how much we experience that silence, that peace, within. ~ Adyashanti
Spiritual Nature quotes by Adyashanti
As we balance and become more and more identified with our spiritual nature, and the ego returns to its designated place, we again are led by the Spirit, but now in a conscious way. ~ Gerry Boylan
Spiritual Nature quotes by Gerry Boylan
Every cult of personality that emphasizes the distinguished qualities, virtues, and talents of another person, even though these be of an altogether spiritual nature, is worldly and has no place in the Christian community; indeed, it poisons the Christianity community. ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Spiritual Nature quotes by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
All spiritual life begins with a sense of wonder, and nature is a window into that wonder. ~ Richard Louv
Spiritual Nature quotes by Richard Louv
The chaste severity of the fathers in whatever related to the commerce of the two sexes flowed from the same principle
their abhorrence of every enjoyment which might gratify the sensual and degrade the spiritual nature of man. It was their favourite opinion, that if Adam had preserved his obedience to the Creator, he would have lived for ever in a state of virgin purity, and that some harmless mode of vegetation might have peopled paradise with a race of innocent and immortal beings. ~ Edward Gibbon
Spiritual Nature quotes by Edward Gibbon
If we could see ourselves ... as we really are, we should see ourselves in a world of spiritual natures, our community which neither began at birth nor will end with the death of the body. ~ Immanuel Kant
Spiritual Nature quotes by Immanuel Kant
There is knowledge of God and the spiritual nature of man, as well as other types of reality ... , that are not reducible to the world dealt with by the so-called "natural" sciences. The idea that knowledge - and, of course, reality - is limited to that world is the single most destructive idea on the stage of life today. ~ Dallas Willard
Spiritual Nature quotes by Dallas Willard
The development of our spiritual nature should concern us most. Spirituality is the highest acquisition of the soul, the divine in man; 'the supreme, crowning gift that makes him king of all created things.' It is the consciousness of victory over self and of communion with the infinite. It is spirituality alone which really gives one the best in life. ~ David O. McKay
Spiritual Nature quotes by David O. McKay
We trust nature to know what it is doing, but we are not nearly so kind, understanding and trusting of our own rhythms and cycles. It's ridiculous that we are so hard on ourselves. Can we not trust that the very same forces that created the rhythms and cycles of nature created our own? Of course we can. We often don't, but we can, if we remember. ~ Jeffrey R. Anderson
Spiritual Nature quotes by Jeffrey R. Anderson
I think we have to recover our spiritual nature. The way we have interpreted Christianity does not do that. ~ John Shelby Spong
Spiritual Nature quotes by John Shelby Spong
Spiritual nature is inconceivable and unlimited. Therefore, the activities of that realm will always remain beyond our mental speculation and intellectual concept. ~ Bhakti Charu Swami
Spiritual Nature quotes by Bhakti Charu Swami
Conservatism therefore looks upon the enhancement of man's spiritual nature as the primary concern of political philosophy. Liberals, on the other hand, - in the name of a concern for "human beings" - regard the satisfaction of economic wants as the dominant mission of society. ~ Barry Goldwater
Spiritual Nature quotes by Barry Goldwater
Our belief in a world external to ourselves, filled with things and people that are not us, is an overwhelming fact of our existence. But similarly, our absolute certainty that there is more to reality than just this physical world is a spiritual fact that bears more truth than any other in our lives. We seek to explain this spiritual nature as some metaphysical reality, accepting the constraint of Science that will not allow for any usurpation of the actuality of the physical universe. And we flounder trying. Once we allow our thoughts to be forced into some metaphysical realm, we find ourselves stripped of that single most important validation of spiritual truth – the undeniable presence at the heart of our existence. This is the spiritual truth that we seek, and it is not to be found in the physical reality of Science. The physical reality of Science is to be found in it! "An Introduction to Awareness" is a philosophical journey that takes the reader into the heart of this pure presence of nondual reality – a reality in which the spiritual is not metaphysical, but actual, in which physical reality is 'a machine in the ghost'. This pure presence that we cannot deny is the awareness that lies at the heart of our experiences and thoughts. This irrefutable truth is used as a starting point in a processual analysis of awareness, and of our ideas about existence and self, leading to a clear understanding of the nondual nature of reality as the pure presence of non-individuated A ~ James M. Corrigan
Spiritual Nature quotes by James M. Corrigan
The deeper we look into nature, the more we recognize that it is full of life, and the more profoundly we know that all life is a secret and that we are united with all life that is in nature. ~ Albert Schweitzer
Spiritual Nature quotes by Albert Schweitzer
Without our Spiritual nature, life's a gift we can never fully unwrap."

~ With Thine Own Eyes: Why Imitate the Past, When We Can Investigate Reality? ~ Ron Tomanio, Diane Iverson, Phyllis Ring
Spiritual Nature quotes by Ron Tomanio, Diane Iverson, Phyllis Ring
Wonder acts upon a man like a shock, he is "moved" and "shaken", and in the dislocation that succeeds all that he had taken for granted as being natural or self-evident loses its compact solidity and obviousness; he is literally dislocated and no longer knows where he is. If this were only to involve the man of action in all of us, so that a man only lost his sense of certainty of everyday life, it would be relatively harmless; but the ground quakes beneath his feet in a far more dangerous sense, and it is his whole spiritual nature, his capacity to know, that is threatened. It is an extremely curious fact that this is the only aspect of wonder, or almost the only aspect, that comes to evidence in modern philosohpy, and the old view that wonder was the beginning of philosophy takes on a new meaning: doubt is the beginning of philosophy. . . . The innermost meaning of wonder is fulfilled in a deepened sense of mystery. It does not end in doubt, but is the awakening of the knowledge that being, qua being, is mysterious and inconceivable, and that it is a mystery in the full sense of the word: neither a dead end, nor a contradiction, nor even something impenetrable and dark. Rather, mystery means that a reality cannot be comprehended because its light is ever-flowing, unfathomable, and inexhaustible. And that is what the wonderer really experiences. . . . Since the very beginning philosophy has always been characterized by hope. Philosophy never claimed to be a superior form of ~ Josef Pieper
Spiritual Nature quotes by Josef Pieper
When nature has work to be done, she creates a genius to do it. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Spiritual Nature quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson
Put your thoughts to sleep, do not let them cast a shadow over the moon of your heart. Let go of thinking. ~ Rumi
Spiritual Nature quotes by Rumi
I have always loved young women for their sensitive spiritual nature, gentleness, and special beauty. ~ Margaret D. Nadauld
Spiritual Nature quotes by Margaret D. Nadauld
The ECK books are simply to show people how to go inside themselves, into the pureness of their heart, where they can get answers directly from the Inner Master about things of a spiritual nature, insights to help them in their life. ~ Harold Klemp
Spiritual Nature quotes by Harold Klemp
As we increase in our awareness and our integration of Self the process of integration grows and expands as we begin to incorporate the fullness of our nature, that of our spiritual nature or our Soul. ~ Genevieve
Spiritual Nature quotes by Genevieve
The hard struggle which the Pan-Germans fought with the Catholic Church can be accounted for only by their insufficient understanding of the spiritual nature of the people. ~ Adolf Hitler
Spiritual Nature quotes by Adolf Hitler
ALL religions of a spiritual nature are inventions of man. He has created an entire system of gods with nothing more than his carnal brain. Just because he has an ego, and cannot accept it, he has to externalize it into some great spiritual device which he calls God. ~ Anton Szandor LaVey
Spiritual Nature quotes by Anton Szandor LaVey
I would call myself a Gnostic. Which means, I'm interested in pursuing and understanding the spiritual nature of things. A Gnostic is somebody seeking knowledge of that aspect of reality. ~ Robert Crumb
Spiritual Nature quotes by Robert Crumb
was profound insight of a spiritual nature that could help me live my everyday life unconstrained by conflict, either with others or within myself. These ~ Sun Tzu
Spiritual Nature quotes by Sun Tzu
Man's threefold lower nature - consisting of his physical organism, his emotional nature, and his mental faculties - reflects the light of his threefold Divinity and bears witness of It in the physical world. Man's three bodies are symbolized by an upright triangle; his threefold spiritual nature by an inverted triangle. These two triangles, when united in the form of a six-pointed star, were called by the Jews "the Star of David," "the Signet of Solomon," and are more commonly known today as "the Star of Zion." These triangles symbolize the spiritual and material universes linked together in the constitution of the human creature, who partakes of both Nature and Divinity. Man's animal nature partakes of the earth; his divine nature of the heavens; his human nature of the mediator. ~ Manly P. Hall
Spiritual Nature quotes by Manly P. Hall
We are here on earth and such and such shape, form, and mind to strive for the completion of our spiritual selves, not only as individuals but as the whole of humanity. We are here to heal our souls and come closer to recovering the divine nature – our spiritual nature – through the physical and mental tools that we've been given.

Healing Society ~ Ilchi Lee
Spiritual Nature quotes by Ilchi Lee
I believe that my father had some kind of direct experience of the spiritual nature of reality, maybe a vision, that he tried to convey perhaps unconsciously in his work- that there is a different, more loving and transcendent reality beyond this world of imagined conflicts. ~ Lisa Henson
Spiritual Nature quotes by Lisa Henson
Whenever an answer, a solution, or a creative idea is needed, stop thinking for a moment by focusing attention on your inner energy field ... When you resume thinking, it will be fresh and creative. ~ Eckhart Tolle
Spiritual Nature quotes by Eckhart Tolle
...no clear-seeing, conscious woman is going to tolerate an unawakened man. So, Eve immediately shares the fruit with Adam. That makes him self-conscious. Little has changed. Women have been making men self-conscious since the beginning of time. They do this primarily by rejecting them - but they also do it by shaming them, if men do not take responsibility. ~ Jordan Petersen
Spiritual Nature quotes by Jordan Petersen
The difference between [socialism and fascism] is superficial and purely formal, but it is significant psychologically: it brings the authoritarian nature of a planned economy crudely into the open. The main characteristic of socialism (and of communism) is public ownership of the means of production, and, therefore, the abolition of private property. The right to property is the right of use and disposal. Under fascism, men retain the semblance or pretense of private property, but the government holds total power over its use and disposal. ~ Ayn Rand
Spiritual Nature quotes by Ayn Rand
Madame Gherardi maintained that love, like most other blessings of civilisation, was a chimaera which we desire the more, the further removed we are from Nature. ~ W.G. Sebald
Spiritual Nature quotes by W.G. Sebald
I had reached the point, at which I was not afraid to die. This spirit made me a Freeman in fact, while I remained a slave in form, ~ Frederick Douglass
Spiritual Nature quotes by Frederick Douglass
God has created each soul in God's image, and every soul is inherently good. Just as certain conditions can cause mold to grow on food, so too do certain circumstances cause an un-spiritual mold to grow on a person's soul. Before long, the mold has taken control of the spirit and a person seems possessed of that mold. But no matter how controlled by the mold a person is, their soul still belongs to God, and is absolutely, always redeemable. ~ Sean Patrick Brennan
Spiritual Nature quotes by Sean Patrick Brennan
With a leer of mingled sweetness and slyness; with one eye on the future, one on the bride, and an arch expression in her face, partly spiritual, partly spirituous, and wholly professional and peculiar to her art; Mrs Gamp rummaged in her pocket again [ ... ] ~ Charles Dickens
Spiritual Nature quotes by Charles Dickens
The political enemy need not be morally evil or aesthetically ugly; he need not appear as an economic competitor, and it may even be advantageous to engage with him in business transactions. But he is, nevertheless, the other, the stranger; and it is sufficient for his nature that he is, in a specially intense way, existentially something different and alien, so that in the extreme case conflicts with him are possible. These can neither be decided by a previously determined general norm nor by the judgment of a disinterested and therefore neutral third party. ~ Carl Schmitt
Spiritual Nature quotes by Carl Schmitt
We are all carriers of God's character and nature ~ Sunday Adelaja
Spiritual Nature quotes by Sunday Adelaja
The linages between the nodes that form the web of life- how delightful. ~ Gladys Chua
Spiritual Nature quotes by Gladys Chua
Immanuel, God with us in our nature, in our sorrow, in our lifework, in our punishment, in our grave, and now with us, or rather we with Him, in resurrection, ascension, triumph, and Second Advent splendor. ~ Charles Spurgeon
Spiritual Nature quotes by Charles Spurgeon
The greatest joy in nature is the absence of man. ~ Bliss Carman
Spiritual Nature quotes by Bliss Carman
My love, I have tried with all my being
to grasp a form comparable to thine own,
but nothing seems worthy;
I know now why Shakespeare could not
compare his love to a summer's day.
It would be a crime to denounce the beauty
of such a creature as thee,
to simply cast away the precision
God had placed in forging you.
Each facet of your being
whether it physical or spiritual
is an ensnarement
from which there is no release.
But I do not wish release.
I wish to stay entrapped forever.
With you for all eternity.
Our hearts, always as one. ~ Anthony Kolos
Spiritual Nature quotes by Anthony Kolos
Whenever you enjoy the bounties of nature like the sunrise or a blooming flower you are connecting yourself with the pure potentiality. ~ Stephen Richards
Spiritual Nature quotes by Stephen Richards
The Mojave is a big desert and a frightening one. It's as though nature tested a man for endurance and constancy to prove whether he was good enough to get to California. ~ John Steinbeck
Spiritual Nature quotes by John Steinbeck
Theory is, of course, critical to the development of specific analyses of women's situation. Explicitly or implicitly, empirical phenomena must be organised in terms of a theoretical construct in order to be grasped conceptually. At the same time, theory is, by its very nature, severely limited. As a structure of concepts, a theoretical framework simply provides guidance for the understanding of actual societies, past and present. However indispensable this theoretical guidance may be, specific strategies, programmes, or tactics for change cannot be deduced directly from theory. Nor can the phenomenon of variation in women's situation over time, and in different societies, be addressed solely by means of theory. These are matters for concrete analysis and historical investigation. ~ Lise Vogel
Spiritual Nature quotes by Lise Vogel
Neuro-nonsense occurs when people take on board the supposed discoveries of neuroscience – all these brain images that tell us, for instance, that we've discovered now exactly what love is, it's this little bit in the hippocampus, so we have no need to question what the meaning of these things is. But these images have no meaning, any more than a chemical reaction in a test-tube has a meaning. All kinds of nonsense comes into being as a result of this, the nonsense being essentially what happens when our own human nature is confiscated from us by science or pseudosciences which claim to explain us without really going into the question of what we are. ~ Roger Scruton
Spiritual Nature quotes by Roger Scruton
Self-preservation, nature's first great law, all the creatures, except man, doth awe. ~ Andrew Marvell
Spiritual Nature quotes by Andrew Marvell
We have taken the glorious gospel of our blessed God and reduced it down to four spiritual laws and five things God wants you to know, with a little superstitious prayer at the end; and if someone repeats it after us with enough sincerity, we popishly declare them to be born again. We've traded regeneration for decisionism. ~ Paul Washer
Spiritual Nature quotes by Paul Washer
Great minds are to make others great. Their superiority is to be used, not to break the multitude to intellectual vassalage, not to establish over them a spiritual tyranny, but to rouse them from lethargy, and to aid them to judge for themselves. ~ William Ellery Channing
Spiritual Nature quotes by William Ellery Channing
Nature and human life are as various as our several constitutions. Who shall say what prospect life offers to another? ~ Henry David Thoreau
Spiritual Nature quotes by Henry David Thoreau
So many times, people told me I can't do this or can't do that. My nature is that I don't listen very well. I'm very determined, and I believe in myself. My parents brought me up that way. Thank God for that. I don't let anything stand in my way. ~ Chantal Sutherland
Spiritual Nature quotes by Chantal Sutherland
What you're going through is not meant to hurt you, but meant to deliver you from the evil oppressing you. ~ Jeanette Coron
Spiritual Nature quotes by Jeanette Coron
We are not born to accommodate tyranny over our hearts, minds, bodies, or souls. We are here to confirm an abundance of love-inspired possibilities greater than such restrictions. ~ Aberjhani
Spiritual Nature quotes by Aberjhani
The least movement is of importance to all nature. The entire ocean is affected by a pebble. ~ Blaise Pascal
Spiritual Nature quotes by Blaise Pascal
When people are like each other they tend to like each other. ~ Tony Robbins
Spiritual Nature quotes by Tony Robbins
The reproduction of
what the senses perceive in nature through the veil of the soul. ~ Edgar Allan Poe
Spiritual Nature quotes by Edgar Allan Poe
Is it not by learning to read the book of nature with the eyes of faith that we come to recognize the drop of divinity that resides in our own souls though hidden, master? In the end is this not faith; to seek the light that takes us further, the light of Christ that brings that to which reason and knowledge alone can never raise itself? This is truth! ~ Adriana Koulias
Spiritual Nature quotes by Adriana Koulias
Everything one sees is merely a projection of what one does not see, its true nature and substance. ~ Fernando Sabino
Spiritual Nature quotes by Fernando Sabino
I don't intend to fight with anyone; I have only one weapon of love. I want to win the world with love. What the world calls love, is really worldly love. [True] Love is when even if you curse me, I would not get 'depressed' and when you garland me with flowers, I would not become 'elevated'. In true love, there would not be any changes. Changes can occur in the intent and feelings (bhaav) of the body, but not in 'pure love'. ~ Dada Bhagwan
Spiritual Nature quotes by Dada Bhagwan
The spiritual world is connected with the physical world. The common factor connecting all things is true love. ~ Sun Myung Moon
Spiritual Nature quotes by Sun Myung Moon
I think a lot of times dreams are nothing more than a kind of mental or spiritual flatulence. They're a way of relieving pressure. ~ Stephen King
Spiritual Nature quotes by Stephen King
Gratitude is glory to God. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Spiritual Nature quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
If life is my way and nirvana is my destination, then which path should I take, religious or spiritual? ~ Debasish Mridha
Spiritual Nature quotes by Debasish Mridha
Please leave the stone on the seat, it is to keep out the mink. ~ S.K. Tremayne
Spiritual Nature quotes by S.K. Tremayne
Are you here to experience life or think about it? ~ Jaggi Vasudev
Spiritual Nature quotes by Jaggi Vasudev
Mother nature is a fickle and forgetful bitch," she snapped. "She needs a helping hand and I am trying to hurry her along for their sake. ~ Sabrina Jeffries
