Through the blur, I wondered if I was alone or if other parents felt the same way I did - that everything involving our children was painful in some way. The emotions, whether they were joy, sorrow, love or pride, were so deep and sharp that in the end they left you raw, exposed and yes, in pain. The human heart was not designed to beat outside the human body and yet, each child represented just that - a parent's heart bared, beating forever outside its chest. ~ Debra Ginsberg
Sorrow Love quotes by Debra Ginsberg
Sometimes you gotta laugh through the tears, smile through the pain so that you can live through the sorrow ... ~ Alex Tan
Sorrow Love quotes by Alex Tan

Sorrow Love quotes by Mason Cooley
Some of you say, "Joy is greater than sorrow," and others say, "Nay, sorrow is the greater."
But I say unto you, they are inseparable.
Together they come, and when one sits alone with you at your board, remember that the other is asleep upon your bed. ~ Kahlil Gibran
Sorrow Love quotes by Kahlil Gibran

Sorrow is how we learn to love. Your heart isn't breaking. It hurts because it's getting larger. The larger it gets, the more love it holds. ~ Rita Mae Brown
Sorrow Love quotes by Rita Mae Brown
We were resigned to suffering, thinking that we loved outside ourselves, and we perceive that our love is a function of our sorrow, that our love perhaps is our sorrow.. ~ Marcel Proust
Sorrow Love quotes by Marcel Proust
For me, I say no, but then I am old, and life, with his sunshine, his fair places, his song of birds, his music and his love, lie far behind. You others are young. Some have seen sorrow, but there are fair days yet in store. What say you? ~ Bram Stoker
Sorrow Love quotes by Bram Stoker
To sorrow I bade good morrow, And thought to leave her far away behind; But cheerly, cheerly, She loves me dearly; She is so constant to me, and so kind.
I would deceive her, And so leave her, But ah! she is so constant and so kind ~ Thomas Hardy
Sorrow Love quotes by Thomas Hardy
She must express life, death, happiness, sorrow, love and anger, but above all she must have dignity. ~ Taheyya Kariokka
Sorrow Love quotes by Taheyya Kariokka
For all our wit and reading brings us to a truer sense of sorrow. ~ John Webster
Sorrow Love quotes by John Webster
We shall live even in this state of living death, we shall love, we shall feel, we shall defy all who would judge and destroy us. ~ Anne Rice
Sorrow Love quotes by Anne Rice
In mortals there is a care for trifles which proceeds from love and conscience, and is most holy; and a care for trifles which comes of idleness and frivolity, and is most base. And so, also, there is a gravity proceeding from thought, which is most noble; and a gravity proceeding from dulness and mere incapability of enjoyment, which is most base. ~ John Ruskin
Sorrow Love quotes by John Ruskin
I don't get star-stuck. I love Angelina Jolie, though. ~ NeNe Leakes
Sorrow Love quotes by NeNe Leakes
Hence the aim of meditation, in the context of Christian faith, is not to arrive at an objective and apparently 'scientific' knowledge of God, but to come to know him through the realization that our very being is penetrated with his knowledge and love for us. Our knowledge of God is paradoxically a knowledge not of him as the object of our scrutiny, but of ourselves as utterly dependent on his saving and merciful knowledge of us. It is in proportion as we are known to him that we find our real being and identity in Christ. We know him and through ourselves in so far as his truth is the source of our being and his merciful love is the very heart of our life and existence. We have no other reason for being, except to be loved by him as our Creator and Redeemer, and to love him in return. There is no true knowledge of God that does not imply a profound grasp and an intimate personal acceptance of this profound relationship. ~ Thomas Merton
Sorrow Love quotes by Thomas Merton
I don't care," said Seth. "I would have done it. I would have sold my soul for you. You and me ... I told you. Something's always going to keep us near each other ... even if we aren't together. ~ Richelle Mead
Sorrow Love quotes by Richelle Mead
With mindfulness, loving kindness, and self-compassion, we can begin to let go of our expectations about how life and those we love should be. ~ Sharon Salzberg
Sorrow Love quotes by Sharon Salzberg
It's sad to know how blind we are when it comes to appreciation. We have to lose something to gain knowledge of its worth. The best gift of life is love, the second is health. Most of us have both but will never be satisfied. ~ Abraham Ruiz
Sorrow Love quotes by Abraham Ruiz
I'm in love with my animal friends. ~ Timothy Treadwell
Sorrow Love quotes by Timothy Treadwell
She told me I should be proud of my healthy shape and healthy body and love it and treasure it because it was mine. No one, she said, could tell me what to think of my body. If I let another person's opinion matter I was giving him or her control over me, and I had complete control over my own self-image. ~ Penny Reid
Sorrow Love quotes by Penny Reid
I may be a hopeless romantic happy to get lost between the pages of a hot and steamy novel or a sigh-with-sweetness one, but I'm not naïve enough to believe that those kinds of things happen all the time. Some people will get that kind of love that makes guys wonder and girls swoon, but not everyone. ~ Emma Hart
Sorrow Love quotes by Emma Hart
What do we see by [our enlightened age] which our ancestors saw not, and which at the same time is worth seeing? We see a hundred men hanged, where they saw one. We see five hundred transported, where they saw one. We see five thousand in the workhouse, where they saw one ... We see children perishing in manufactories, where they saw them flourishing in the fields. We see prisons, where they saw castles. We see masters, where they saw representatives. In short, they saw true men, where we see false knaves. They saw Milton, and we see Mr. Sackbut. ~ Thomas Love Peacock
Sorrow Love quotes by Thomas Love Peacock
In the end, my story, in Iraq and afterward, is about more than just killing people or even fighting for my country. It's about being a man. And it's about love as well as hate. ~ Chris Kyle
Sorrow Love quotes by Chris Kyle
He couldn't have known it, but among the original run of The History of Love, at least one copy was destined to change a life.

This particular book was one of the last of the two thousand to be printed, and sat for longer than the rest in a warehouse in the outskirts of Santiago, absorbing the humidity. From there it was finally sent to a bookstore in Buenos Aires. The careless owner hardly noticed it, and for some years it languished on the shelves, acquiring a pattern of mildew across the cover. It was a slim volume, and its position on the shelf wasn't exactly prime: crowded on the left by an overweight biography of a minor actress, and on the right by the once-bestselling novel of an author that everyone had since forgotten, it hardly left its spine visible to even the most rigorous browser. When the store changed owners it fell victim to a massive clearance, and was trucked off to another warehouse, foul, dingy, crawling with daddy longlegs, where it remained in the dark and damp before finally being sent to a small secondhand bookstore not far from the home of the writer Jorge Luis Borges.

The owner took her time unpacking the books she'd bought cheaply and in bulk from the warehouse. One morning, going through the boxes, she discovered the mildewed copy of The History of Love. She'd never heard of it, but the title caught her eye. She put it aside, and during a slow hour in the shop she read the opening chapter, called 'The Age of Silence.'
Nicole Krauss
Sorrow Love quotes by Nicole Krauss
I am haunted by interrupted acts,
introspective as a leper, enchanted
by a repulsive clew,
a gross and fugitive movement of the limbs.
Is this the love that shook the lights to flame? ~ Muriel Rukeyser
Sorrow Love quotes by Muriel Rukeyser
It is a very long story, and I promise I'll spill all later. Condensed version: my mom is a Brannick, I am the unholy love child of a Brannick and a demon, and the bar for family dysfunction is now set super high."
Jenna, to her credit, knew when to just roll with it. "Okay, then."
"The more pressing question right now is, why are we back at Hex Hall?"
Jenna looked around, taking in the unnatural fog, the dilapidated (well, more dilapidated) feel of the house. "Something tells me it's not for a class ruinion."
"Did you get pulled through some kind of magic tornado, too?" I asked her.
"No, I flew in here as a bat. It's a new thing I learned from Byron."
"Ha ha," I said, swatting at her arm. ~ Rachel Hawkins
Sorrow Love quotes by Rachel Hawkins
Idealistic reformers are dangerous because their idealism has no roots in love, but is simply a hysterical and unbalanced rage for order amidst their own chaos. ~ William Irwin Thompson
Sorrow Love quotes by William Irwin Thompson
Every country-or at least every country that is fit for habitation-has its own rivers; and every river has its own quality; and it is the part of wisdom to know and love as many as you can, seeing each in the fairest possible light, and receiving from each the best that it has to give. ~ Henry Van Dyke
Sorrow Love quotes by Henry Van Dyke
It's great! I used it (Dr.Ducks Ax Wax) to restore the finish of my 370/12/RM and I love the way it turned out!.. ~ Roger McGuinn
Sorrow Love quotes by Roger McGuinn
My grandmother's unkindness, for instance, was the result of repressed grief over three deaths: her parents, before she was twelve, and her firstborn child. I don't recall ever seeing her smile. She was critical of everything and everyone. Table manners, posture, diction, wardrobe. My aunt, her mother's staunchest defender, often reminded us that my grandmother suffered from accumulated sorrow, bottled up since childhood and cloaked in intellect and intolerance as she grew older. She was never able to grieve fully or mourn the amassed losses, my aunt had said. If we repress our grief, over time, it's bound to harden the heart. ~ Nancy Cobb
Sorrow Love quotes by Nancy Cobb
If there was any other place I would live, other than Miami, it would be California. It's beautiful. The weather is just gorgeous, I love being here, too. ~ Jon Secada
Sorrow Love quotes by Jon Secada
The Fascist accepts life and loves it, knowing nothing of and despising suicide; he rather conceives of life as duty and struggle and conquest, life which should be high and full, lived for oneself, but not above all for others those who are at hand and those who are far distant, contemporaries, and those who will come after. ~ Benito Mussolini
Sorrow Love quotes by Benito Mussolini
I live always in my dream,
so reality is my dream and dream is my reality. ~ Debasish Mridha
Sorrow Love quotes by Debasish Mridha
--and yet, in my heart, I always knew we loved each other, a part of me understanding that the passion with which we hurt each other came from something strong enough to withstand the blows we inflicted. Looking back, I guess I always felt that we would have time to work things out eventually, not imagining what was to come; that we would one day have to cut all ties and never speak again. ~ Camilla Way
Sorrow Love quotes by Camilla Way
Her little hands, Crumb. Her little paws, like a child's. She has no guile in her. And she never speaks. And if she does I hate to bend my head to hear what she says. And in the pause I can hear my heart. Her little bits of embroidery, her scraps of silk, her halcyon sleeves, she cut out of the cloth some admirer gave her once, some poor boy struck with love for her...and yet she has never succumbed. Her little sleeves, her seed pearl necklace...she has nothing...she expects nothing...' A tear at last sneaks from Henry's eye, meanders down his cheek and vanishes into the mottled grey and ginger of his beard. ~ Hilary Mantel
Sorrow Love quotes by Hilary Mantel
People are always warning me that I'm going to burn out. But the truth is, the only thing that tires me out is hearing people tell me that. Opposite shows, opposite coasts, opposite demographics, opposite everything - I love it, man! ~ Michael Strahan
Sorrow Love quotes by Michael Strahan
"I don't like it" or "I like it". This sentence must go away from your tongue. Likes and dislikes are only for people who have limited vision. You should learn to appreciate. ~ Nirmala Srivastava
Sorrow Love quotes by Nirmala Srivastava
In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work - brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.3 I am fascinated by this research ~ Lysa TerKeurst
Sorrow Love quotes by Lysa TerKeurst
It's funny. We meet hundreds of people. We stop to remember them sometimes and they're so far away and we're not a part of them anymore. Makes you realise how important it is to be a part of someone. And stay that way with them. And we have visions of going out into the open world and treating it as our oyster... but it takes a small, mindful moment to make us realise that doesn't really mean anything when you don't have someone to call home. ~ C. JoyBell C.
Sorrow Love quotes by C. JoyBell C.
Ben is the kind of guy that reaches into your heart and possesses it. ~ K. Webster
Sorrow Love quotes by K. Webster
Jesus says in effect, 'Do you want to know what it feels like to be God? When one of those two-legged humans pays attention to me, it feels like I just reclaimed my most valuable possession, which I had given up for lost.' To God himself, it feels like the discovery of a lifetime. ~ Philip Yancey
Sorrow Love quotes by Philip Yancey
We find that one person in life that will stand by us through everything, support us, love us regardless of yourself. That one person that will stand by your side through everything. Grab onto that person with everything for if you don't then one day you will look to your side expecting him to be there and you will find that he is not. So don't take the one for granted that makes you his life. If you do then he will remove you from his ... ~ Albert Besselaar
Sorrow Love quotes by Albert Besselaar
It's about a love song to myself, and a love song to the universe, kind of like the way that Song of Solomon consists of love songs to God or like the way Sufi poems are erotic love songs to God, I kind of wanted something like that. Because I was getting to know myself more deeply at this point. I've always been on this track where I wanted to be enlightened. ~ Larkin Grimm
Sorrow Love quotes by Larkin Grimm
The guys from Atari that are making the next Alone in the Dark game came and we had a great meeting. I'd love to do that. I'm a fan of videogames. I like them. And to get to be part of one of them would be a fun and exciting thing. ~ Christian Slater
Sorrow Love quotes by Christian Slater
He's not here. The Black Earl."

"I know."

"So, for the moment, we are safe from that madness."

"I am always safe with you. No matter what happens, no matter what, I am safe with you and not with anyone else."

He inhaled. "How long have you been seeing the Black Earl?"

"A few days now." She bit her lower lip. "You?"

"Since I came to Pennhyll." He walked to the fireplace. She turned sideways on her chair, but all he did was stare at the fire, hands clasped and pressed against the small of his back. The fingers of one hand clenched and unclenched. He turned. "What of me? How long have I been in your head?"

"Before the Black Earl, I think. Only I didn't know they weren't just dreams."

"More and more intimate." His mouth thinned. "I confess to once or twice in my life imagining making love to a woman I admire. God knows you're a pretty woman, but I don't just imagine being with you. When I make love to you, you're not thoughts and images in my head, you're in my arms, real and warm. I can taste you and breathe in the scent of you, feel your skin against mine. We've never made love, but I've been inside you. Jesus, Olivia, you know I have."

She nodded.

"Hell, for all we know it's possible I've made a child in you." His eyes pinned her. "Did anything like that happen between you and Andrew?"

"No."

"You sound certain."

"I am."

"You ~ Carolyn Jewel

When I was sixteen, I was an absolutely romantic guy. I fell in love every week. I mean, I was in love with everybody, but unfortunately, nobody was in love with me. ~ Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu
Sorrow Love quotes by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu
Our love can't be measured. It just is. ~ Jon Stevens
Sorrow Love quotes by Jon Stevens
Good-byes are sad, but they don't have to be. We always knew we'd be moving on, we just never understood what it took to do it, and what we got to take from the people and places we left. ~ Alexis Bass
Sorrow Love quotes by Alexis Bass
Haters are a drop in the ocean. Theres that much more love ~ Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Sorrow Love quotes by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Love's the strongest energy. Katie and I loved each other. We couldn't love each other in my world, and we couldn't love each other in her world. But all that love, all that energy, it had to go somewhere. It went into that baby." His voice broke. "Even if we couldn't have each other, we would have both had him." -Adam, Plain Truth ~ Jodi Picoult
Sorrow Love quotes by Jodi Picoult
We have a fictional "I" that we try to love and protect. We spend most of our life playing this futile game. "What will happen? How will it go? Will I get something out of it?" I, I, I - it's a mind game of illusion, and we are lost in it. ~ Charlotte Joko Beck
Sorrow Love quotes by Charlotte Joko Beck
Being men of a particular world, you'd think love wouldn't play a part in it.
Love is weakness.
Love is a target.
Though if you ask anyone in the mafioso, they will say they're motivated by only love.
It is about the power, war and money, sure.
But love plays a huge part in this life.
Coveting it.
Protecting it.
Using it, in some cases. ~ V. Theia
Sorrow Love quotes by V. Theia
Who fixes broken people? Is it only other broken people, ones who've already been ruined? And do we need to be fixed? It was the messiness and hurt in our pasts that drove us, and that same hurt connected us at a subdermal level, the kind of scars written so deeply in your cells that you can't even see them anymore, only recognize them in someone else. ~ Leah Raeder
