I scrubbed every inch of my body until it was pink and shiny, laughing hysterically because I had to use Rule's dude soap and ended up smelling like a seventeen-year-old boy who'd just discovered AXE body spray ~ Jay Crownover
Shaw Landon quotes by Jay Crownover
Because it's always been you even when I didn't want it to be, even when it broke my heart over and over again. It's always been you. ~ Jay Crownover
Shaw Landon quotes by Jay Crownover
We love you, dude, but I swear to God, if you put me in a position where I have to pick between you and Shaw, she is going to win every single time, hands down. Know it. ~ Jay Crownover
Shaw Landon quotes by Jay Crownover
I'm always yours, Rule. I will so totally marry you and it would make me happier than anything in the entire world to be an Archer. I don't need a ring or a speech. All I ever need is you. ~ Jay Crownover
Shaw Landon quotes by Jay Crownover
I've never asked a player if they would sign my shoe. ~ Landon Donovan
Shaw Landon quotes by Landon Donovan
We are all savages ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
I'm sick of all the reasonable people: they see all the reasons for doing nothing ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
In 1912, although he, more even than other members of the Senate and the House, thought himself presidential timber (a delusion from which vanishingly few senators and representatives are wholly free when they gaze enraptured into their mirrors of a morning), Senator [William Alden] Smith wasn't noted for much of anything. ~ Markham Shaw Pyle
Shaw Landon quotes by Markham Shaw Pyle
Nothing but the natural ignorance of the public, countenanced by the inoculated erroneousness of the ordinary general medical practitioners, makes such a barbarism as vaccination possible ... Recent developments have shown that an inoculation made in the usual general practitioner's light-hearted way, without previous highly skilled examination of the state of the patient's blood, is just as likely to be a simple manslaughter as a cure or preventive. But vaccination is nothing short of attempted murder. A skilled bacteriologist would just as soon think of cutting his child's arm and rubbing the contents of the dustpan into the wound, as vaccinating it in the same. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
The object of our sojourns on earth, as apart from the gaining of experience, is but one. The loosing of ourselves from the coil of reincarnation, which, over and over again, brings us back to earth as on a coiled spring, until, having learned the last lesson of matter, leaped the last barrier, we are freed for ever from earth. ~ Shaw Desmond
Shaw Landon quotes by Shaw Desmond
I am giving you examples of the fact that this creature man, who in his own selfish affairs is a coward to the backbone, will fight for an idea like a hero ... I tell you, gentlemen, if you can shew a man a piece of what he now calls God's work to do, and what he will later call by many new names, you can make him entirely reckless of the consequences to himself personally. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
We have in England a curious belief in first-rate people, meaning all the people we do not know; and this consoles us for the undeniable second-rateness of the people we do know. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
Remember how beautiful you were?" he whispered. It was a cruel thing to embed in a woman's compact, but he'd found a million uses for the thing. Made him feel like he was helping it redeem itself. ~ Clovia Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by Clovia Shaw
The fickleness of the women I love is only equaled by the infernal constancy of the women who love me. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
There are two tragedies in life. One is to lose your heart's desire. The other is to gain it. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
He's confident. He knows what he's good at and he has people around him to help him.
(on Freddy Adu) ~ Landon Donovan
Shaw Landon quotes by Landon Donovan
There have been two [career highlights]. Waking up in New York to hear I'd been nominated for Best Actor for a Tony Award on Broadway, for An Ideal Husband. The other one was waking up the morning after the opening night of A Man For All Seasons and reading the reviews. ~ Martin Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by Martin Shaw
Perhaps, from an innate desire of justification, sorrow always exaggerates itself. Memory is quite one of Job's friends; and the past is ever ready to throw its added darkness on the present. ~ Letitia Elizabeth Landon
Shaw Landon quotes by Letitia Elizabeth Landon
Fortune favors the one who wanted to chang his life. ~ Pintu Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by Pintu Shaw
Reminiscences make one feel so deliciously aged and sad. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
I guess I'd like people to be able to forget a lot of things and just enjoy the beauty of harmony and melody for a moment. ~ Caroline Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by Caroline Shaw
So I see you got to know Trish on a pretty intimate level tonight," Max said, focusing her attention back on the present as they made their way down the deserted roads back to her house.
"She was definitely…friendly."
What Landon casually defined as friendly was what Max more accurately described as molestation. Her hands had disappeared under the table, rubbing his leg or whatever she was doing, more times than she spent holding her damn cards. Landon's indifference to the whole thing was entirely impossible to read. Was he enjoying the attention? Wouldn't any man? Not that it was any of her business. Landon was just some guy that she'd let stay with her for a few days. The fact that he was good-looking was irrelevant. Trish could have him for all she cared as long as they kept the indecencies out of her house.
"Well, don't you worry about her. She's a bit of a flirt when she's drunk. I'm pretty sure she'd hit on a monkey."
"You just compared me to a monkey and you don't want me to worry?"
"You know what I mean."
"I'm sorry, I don't."
"Don't tell me that girls like that actually appeal to you."
"Jealous?"
"Hardly," Max shot back defensively. "I just pegged you for a man with higher standards that's all." She couldn't really say why she'd chosen to share her opinion. No harm in giving the guy a little warning, right?
"You've pegged me for a lot of things. ~ Shawn Kirsten Maravel
Shaw Landon quotes by Shawn Kirsten Maravel
Expectation kills. Just go with the flow, you might be surprised when something better comes along in an unexpected way. ~ Joyram Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by Joyram Shaw
You know, Tolstoy, like myself, wasn't taken in by superstitions like science and medicine. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
I hate the standard of stupid and selfish driving we have in this country. We are the worst I've come across. ~ Martin Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by Martin Shaw
All progress is due to the unreasonable person. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
I got to say 'Hi' to Dolly Parton, which my mom thought was kind of cool. ~ Landon Donovan
Shaw Landon quotes by Landon Donovan
Go on writing plays, my boy, One of these days one of these London producers will go into his office and say to his secretary, "Is there a play from Shaw this morning?" and when she says, "No," he will say, "Well, then we'll have to start on the rubbish." And that's your chance, my boy. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
Wise kings wear shabby clothes, and leave the gold lace to the drum major. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw smelled the Malthusian morbidity underlying natural selection, lamenting, "When its whole significance dawns on you, your heart sinks into a heap of sand within you." Shaw lamented natural selection's "hideous fatalism," and complained of its "damnable reduction of beauty and intelligence, of strength and purpose, of honor and aspiration."4 ~ Christopher Ryan
Shaw Landon quotes by Christopher Ryan
Happy is the man who can make a living by his hobby ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
The fact is that the intrinsic worth of the book, play or whatever the author is trying to sell is the least, last factor in the the whole transaction. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
In the right key one can say anything. In the wrong key, nothing: the only delicate part is the establishment of the key. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
Dance music-as I keep saying, you can dance to a windshield wiper ... a windshield wiper that's fairly steady gives you a beat and all you need is an out-of-tune playing 'Melancholy Baby' and you've got dance music. ~ Artie Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by Artie Shaw
Entertainment and art have power. Our culture is molded more so by entertainment than any other influence. ~ Michael Landon, Jr.
Shaw Landon quotes by Michael Landon, Jr.
If you say that God is good, great, blessed, wise or any such thing, the starting point is this : God is. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
Only in the problem play is there any real drama, because drama is no mere setting up of the camera to nature: it is the presentation in parable of the conflict between Man's will and his environment: in a word, of problem. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
Dee!" he shouts. "The guy who snuck in your room last night is here! ~ Jamie Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by Jamie Shaw
Travel is as much a passion as ambition or love. ~ Letitia Elizabeth Landon
Shaw Landon quotes by Letitia Elizabeth Landon
The word "utopia" has two meanings. It means both "good place" and "nowhere". That's the way it should be. The happiest places, I think, are the ones that reside just this side of paradise. The perfect person would be insufferable to live with; likewise, we wouldn't want to live in the perfect place, either. "A life time of happiness! No man could bear it: It would be hell on earth," wrote George Bernard Shaw, in his play Man and Superman. ~ Eric Weiner
Shaw Landon quotes by Eric Weiner
Your uncle Howard is one of the most harmless of men - much nicer than most professional people. Of course he does dreadful things as a judge; but then if you take a man and pay him 5,000 pounds a year to be wicked, and praise him for it, and have policemen and courts and laws and juries to drive him into it so that he can't help doing it, what can you expect? ~ George Bernard Shaw
Shaw Landon quotes by George Bernard Shaw
Defeatism is the wretchedest of policies. ~ George Bernard Shaw
